A kingdom on the brink of collapse. A dynasty under threat. A legacy in peril.

Desperate to bring the magic back and give his people a reprieve, Bharat takes a risky decision… but the gamble puts his son Taksha’s life in danger.

Meanwhile, Kosala’s rakshasa and human enemies move relentlessly closer to destroying the kingdom. And Sudhanva’s rebellion against Bharat erupts when developments in faraway Kekeya cast a shadow of war over Kosala.

At the centre of all this is Bharat, unaware of the dangers that besiege his kingdom and threaten to cause the downfall of the Ikshvakus…

Having read and reviewed the first part of the series exactly 2 years ago , I was waiting earnestly for the sequel. Not because the book poses a true story , it is infact far from it but author hasn't taken the creative liberty to malign our culture which most other authors do.

The story talks about the perils of Bharat ji in ruling Ayodhya in absence of Bhagwan Sri RAM who is in his 14 years exile. A humongous sena of Rakshas has attacked the kingdom and it is in grave danger now to save itself from destruction. To add to his misery , region has also suffered a massive drought , how will the king respond who has a huge job in front to fill the shoes of his deceased father Dashrath ji and a celebrated brother Prabhu Sri RAM ji? Grab the book to find out...

The tale starts from where its prequel ended . It is full of thrill and a few heartbreaking moments to see the protagonist, a larger than life figure in such despair. It seems like the world has come together to make his life miserable and God himself is testing him to the core by introducing all sorts of struggles in his life at the same time. The characterisation is epic with everything included in the right amount. The biggest issues with such kinds of books is its difficult to comprehend vocabulary which doesn't let the ametuer readers to be a part of such work but here author has simplified the contents to a great extent. The book concludes on a cliffhanger and increases the appetite to again wait for the final installment of the series. Hopefully it won't take another two years 😬

All in all a pretty interesting work.

I was waiting for this book for the past 2 yrs since this is sequel to Warlord of Ayodhya Rebellion. That book was very well written and had ended with a cliffhanger and this book is equally good if not better. Shatrujeet is a master plotter by now and nowhere could I guess where the plot was heading. Very few books have that surprise element and here there were surprises galore. This is the story of Bharat as he rules Ayodhya in the absence of Rama and the problems he is facing.Shatrujeet has created enough believable challenges to Bharat and the way some of the plot points are resolved are very satisfactory. All the characters from Sudhanva, Nagnajit, Lavanyasurya go further in their motives to bring Ayodhya and Bharat to his knees. Will Bharat breakdown or will be fight back? Find out in this thrilling book2 of the Warlord Series. As usual the book ends on a heart breaking moment which left me longing for book 3. Book 2 leaves a lot in its midst and the author has a hell of a job ahead to resolve all the plot lines he has woven. But considering his expertise I have no doubt book3 will be a cracker. Till then go read this book and series. You will not regret it.

The sequel seamlessly continues the narrative from where its predecessor left off, immersing readers once again in the intricately crafted realm of Ayodhya within Bharat. The Author skillfully depicts Bharat, the hesitant ruler, navigating through seemingly insurmountable challenges – a kingdom on the verge of chaos, an impending war, and the fading allure of magic. Bharat's character development is not only captivating but also profoundly human, as he grapples with the complexities of his role. In the second instalment of the Warlord of Ayodhya series, titled Resurrection, readers are taken on a fantastical odyssey filled with elements of revenge, betrayal, sinister motives, love, and, inevitably, a profound sense of duty.
Ayodhya finds itself in a state of utter disarray, grappling with multiple crises. The once vibrant magic that permeated the city is now dwindling, casting a shadow over its once-thriving essence. Amid this turmoil, King Lavanyasurya of Madhupura harbours ominous intentions, plotting something nefarious that adds to the looming sense of unrest. Simultaneously, a brewing coup threatens the fragile stability of the kingdom.
The intricate web of alliances and conflicts extends beyond Ayodhya's borders. Yuddhajeet, the yuvaraja of Kekeya and Bharat's uncle, ventures to the Bahlikas, seeking aid to counter the imminent threat posed by Nagnajit of Gandhara. Their united efforts aim to safeguard the River Kingdoms from the impending wrath that hangs over them.
In this heightened state of turmoil, Resurrection, the second instalment in the Warlord of Ayodhya series, intensifies the narrative. The story delves deeper into the fantastical world meticulously crafted by Mr Nath, where Bharat assumes the role of guardian over Ayodhya in the absence of Shri Rama. Building upon the foundation laid in the first book, which skillfully established the world and introduced the characters, Resurrection continues this work with unparalleled grandeur and complexity.
In this captivating narrative, the storyline unfolds across diverse locations, offering a multifaceted experience for readers. The third-person perspective, skillfully employed to portray the viewpoints of key characters such as Lavanyasurya, Bharat, Dileepa, Sudhanva, and Yuddhajeet, adds layers of complexity to the unfolding events. The narrative has matured significantly, with heightened stakes that surpass those encountered in the previous instalment.
The author's adept handling of plot design is evident throughout the book, weaving a tale that is both intricate and engaging. The narrative delves into the depths of character motivations and relationships, presenting a more nuanced exploration of the fantastical world crafted by the author. Each character's perspective contributes to the richness of the overall narrative, providing readers with a deeper understanding of the unfolding events.

However, what truly distinguishes this book is its masterfully executed cliffhanger ending. Without revealing any spoilers, it suffices to say that the conclusion leaves readers on the edge of their seats, eagerly anticipating the final instalment of this epic saga. The tantalizing setup not only intensifies the suspense but also sets the stage for an eagerly awaited resolution. As a reader, I find myself eagerly looking forward to the conclusion of this enthralling journey.
Now, turning our attention to the writing style of the book, it's noteworthy to highlight the author's choice of language, which is not only easy to grasp but also remarkably lucid. The narrative unfolds seamlessly with a flawless execution that contributes to the overall brisk pace of the story. Despite occasional instances of a slower tempo, the plot itself proves to be exceptionally engaging. The intricacies and layers woven into the storyline are so captivating that the desire to keep reading becomes almost irresistible. The author has crafted a narrative that manages to strike a balance between a swift, page-turning experience and moments of deliberate contemplation.
For readers who revel in the thrill of a well-constructed plot and harbour a penchant for imaginative fiction with a genealogical touch, this series is highly recommended. The fusion of thriller elements and the exploration of genealogy within the narrative creates a unique and compelling reading experience. Thus, I unequivocally recommend this series to a broad spectrum of readers, particularly those who find delight in the confluence of suspense and genealogical fiction.

The tale continues with villains so treacherous they make you shudder and plots unimaginably vile. The characters flourish with the reluctant King finding his ground.
A touching narrative of hope against odds. Choices that define and paths that open new doors. A highly satisfying second installment and I eagerly await the next one.

"We know you want to be a yuvaraja in Kekeya, where your heart resides. We know you are the raja of Kosala. But you can be much more than these, Bharat. You can be Ayodhya's hope, its saviour. Embrace that destiny."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Ayodhya is in shambles. The magic is disappearing, King Lavanyasurya of Madhupura is planning something sinister, and there is a coup brewing. Kekeya's yuvaraja and Bharat's uncle, Yuddhajeet is with the Bahlikas seeking help to fend off Nagnajit of Gandhara and save the River Kingdoms of his wrath. And all the while, what is Simhika actually planning? Why are so many people disappearing in Kosala?
The second book in the Warlord of Ayodhya series is all the more intense, diving deeper into the fantastical world woven by Nath, where Bharat is safeguarding Ayodhya in the absence of Shri Rama. The first book set the stage with its world building and character introductions, and Resurrection continues the work in all its glory.
The story Nath follows in this book takes us many places, and is multifaceted, with third person narrations from the points of view of primarily Lavanyasurya, Bharat, Dileepa, Sudhanva and Yuddhajeet. The story is definitely more mature, and the stakes are higher than the last time. The author did a great job with the plot design.
The writing was all the more enigmatic, and kept me at the edge of the seat. The emotions the characters must have felt were very well expressed by the author and the flow of the text made my reading experience amazing. Although at felt at moments that the chapters were too long, I did not have much difficulty with them as the story and writing was very smooth. The final few chapters were absolutely amazing and I am still short of words for that.
The second in the Warlord of Ayodhya series, Resurrection takes us on a fantastical journey encompassing revenge, betrayal, vile intentions, love and of course, a sense of duty.

Here is the 2nd book 'Resurrection' in the Warlord Of Ayodhya series.

#plot
After reviving the magic, Ayodhya had received rainfall giving hope to kingdoms subjects and farmers. Though the attack on king Bharat was still fresh and disappearances continued. Bharat was hoping that the creation of magic would put a permanent end to the miseries of the kingdom. But the magic was weakning. The demon Simhika made sure that rakshasa magic was well spread throughout the sanctum. Besides this, two-high-profile cases that had struck Kosala- the killing in the old quarters and the attack on king- had to be investigated. To add to all this there was a conspiracy sort of going on to remove Bharat as the king. Will Bharat prevent the kingdom from collapsing and save the dynasty under threat??

#bookreview
I had read the Part1 and was desperately waiting to read this and i must say i absolutely loved it. Right from the starting the book is engaging. There is a lot happening in the story and the twist and turns make it a gripping read. Although this is author's imagination entirely but the way the author writes seems so real. I really liked the development in Bharat's character.
One could feel the pressure that was created on the main character king Bharat. At every page the book gets more thrilling and this makes it a fast paced read. The language is easy and narrative is impactful such that the story flows fast like sand in a hourglass.
The ending is such that it will leave you wanting for more. I just cant wait for the next part.
If you like reading Hindu epics then dont hesitate to pick up this one.

Bharat has taken the reign of rule in absence of his brother Rama. Having taken on the responsibility of governing Kosala in place of his exiled brother, Bharat has had to deal with multiple setbacks. Amidst a dreaded draught and waning magic of Kosala there's this new peril of mysterious disappearance of people and series of attacks. Everyone including Bharat is puzzled and desperate to bring back order. But enemies are on the move and it's likely they will strike again. Now it's upto Bharat and his trusted allies to save the kingdom from the cusp of collapse.

'Resurrection' is the second book in the 'Warlord of Ayodhya' series. A fantastic epic, spin-off set in the contemporary period of Ramayana. I remember reading the first book two years ago when the world was still recovering from the aftershock of covid. It came as a fresh perspective to look into the other side of the story and I liked it. This book didn't disappoint me as well. It's slow burn, mysterious and emotionally rich, everything I was looking for. This is a plot driven book but has remarkable character build up.

Sometimes all I want from a book is slow narrative where I can immerse myself and lose all sense of time, this book has that inherent power to engage the readers with captivating flow of plots. I like the writing quality that transports you into the period where the story dwells. I like the writing style as well. Since this book came out almost after two years I would have preferred a little recap on the story at the beginning, which is missing. But I enjoyed the book. Recommended to epic fantasy readers.

As in the first book we have seen about Bharat, the Warlord of Ayodhya. In the first book the author has clearly stated that Ramayana is not only about one character but it is filled with lots of more significant characters and one of them is Bharata. When Lord Rama was not there to take care of Ayodhya and Kosala, Bharat was the one who had to take care of that.

So in the sequel we see how the story started and how many enemies in the form of Rakshas and bad humans started . The war and the consequences were in the hands of Bharat. The narrative skill of the author is just splendid the way the author has explained everything in detail is so worth reading.

There are a total of eleven chapters in the book. Reading about our history was such a good experience for me. I completed this book within a week . I loved the story so much and enjoyed reading it.

A Riveting Continuation of a Mytho-Masterpiece

In the literary world where sequels often struggle to live up to their predecessors, Shatrujeet Nath's "Warlord of Ayodhya: Resurrection" not only meets but surpasses the high bar set by "Warlord of Ayodhya: Rebellion." As a self-confessed admirer of Shatrujeet's storytelling prowess, I found this sequel to be a spellbinding blend of myth and fantasy, skillfully intertwining the familiar with the fantastical.

The book picks up the reins where the first left off, catapulting us back into the intricately woven world of Bharat's Ayodhya. Shatrujeet's portrayal of Bharat, the reluctant king, is masterful. Faced with insurmountable odds – a kingdom teetering on the brink of chaos, an impending war, and the mystique of waning magic – Bharat's character arc is not just compelling but profoundly human. It's a testament to Shatrujeet's skill as a writer that Bharat, often overshadowed in traditional tellings of the Ramayana, is brought to the forefront with such vigor and depth.

Shatrujeet's narrative is a labyrinth of intrigue and suspense, with each turn introducing more complexities and challenges. The way he weaves magic into the fabric of the story is nothing short of genius. The magic in "Warlord of Ayodhya" series, handled with originality and creativity, is a character in its own right – powerful yet bound by its own rules and limitations.

The writing is exquisite, with numerous lines that linger long after the page is turned. Shatrujeet's ability to paint a scene with words is unparalleled, making every moment of the story vivid and visceral. The action sequences are choreographed with a finesse that makes them leap off the page, while the quieter moments of human dynamics are crafted with a sensitivity that adds layers to the characters.

What truly sets this book apart is its cliffhanger ending. Without giving anything away, it's safe to say that it's a tantalizing setup for the final installment, leaving readers like myself eagerly anticipating the conclusion to this epic saga. "Warlord of Ayodhya: Resurrection" is more than just a sequel; it's a reaffirmation of Shatrujeet's status as a master storyteller. This book is an unputdownable, whirlwind adventure that immerses you completely and leaves you yearning for more.

In summary, "Warlord of Ayodhya: Resurrection" is a magnificent continuation of a series that has already established itself as a benchmark in the mytho-fantasy space. For those who revel in the blend of myth, magic, and masterful storytelling, this book is an absolute must-read.

There was a sudden attack on Bharat and his son Taksha by unidentified entities; on the same night four men attacked dandapala Dileepa in the old quarters. The disappearances across Kosala and especially in Ayodhya have not ceased though the ones who vanished also returned back as if they never left — albeit they did not remember anything from the time they went missing.

Even after reinstating the homagriha, the magic in Ayodhya has been the weakest ever and the ensuing cold wave was wild claiming lives everyday. Simhika was executing her mission to weaken the magic in Ayodhya using her dark magic, with help of Nandana. The Gandhara and Kamboja Kings are hell bent on waging a war against the River kingdoms and grab them, especially Kekeya. Yuddhajeet had been exploring options on how to safeguard his kingdom.

Sudhanva has dreamt of the role of kshatri all his life, and when that has been denied to him, he does not stop from going to any lengths to make his dreams come true; that included killing his own family or starting rebellion against the throne. Lavanyasurya of Madhupura who has been at loggerheads with Bharat and Kosala would not let Bharat’s new proposed marketplace come up across Yamuna.

With multiple internal and external threats to his throne, will Bharat be able to keep up his promise to his elder brother Rama that he will keep Kosala safe till he returns back from exile?

This is the second book in the Warlord of Ayodhya series after Rebellion. When I started reading the second part I thought this is end of the series but the author surprised by keeping the story open at the end, hinting at the third part in the series. The story begins from where the first part ends, and though there are references to the first part, the reader would need to read first part to have a proper continuation to the story and understanding of the various characters.

As with the earlier book, Bharat’s many shades and emotions are well captured — his love for his son Taksha, his duty towards the citizens of Kosala, the constant self-introspection of his abilities as the King, meticulously facing internal administrative challenges, bravery while fighting the Rakshasas, fun side while teasing his mama, the desperation when compared to his father and elder brother, his leadership abilities while personally addressing rumors and unrest in Ayodhya.

Though Bharat is at the center of the entire story, the author deftly handles multiple parallel threads. While the first book establishes all the characters with a solid foundation for the overall story, the second book amazes with the twists. The action sequences are executed impeccably, the ones involving Yuddhajeet and the Bahlika warriors standout but the court scenes involving Bharat’s analytical skills are equally impressive. The highlight of the book is the racy pace without a single dull moment and even with so many characters the reader is never overwhelmed.

The concept of “magic” in Ayodhya keeps fascinating the reader. The author also reveals the truth behind the disappearances with an unexpected twist but does not conclude it, keeping the reader guessing. With Shatrughna also joining Bharat towards the end of this part, it will be interesting to see both the brothers in action in the third part.

Generally, sequels struggle to live up to the reader’s expectations after a good first book in the series, but this book is an exception — this one is even more better than the first book. There are many threads still open in this book and the author definitely has a tough job ahead to conclude and tie them all together.

A smashing sequel, Resurrection is definitely the best mythological fiction a reader could ask for.

Resurrection is the 2nd book in Shatrujeet Nath's Warlord of Ayodhya (WoA) trilo...quadril...er, series and after finishing it in a couple of days of binge-reading, my short impression is that it is a cracking follow-up to its predecessor Rebellion. If you haven't read that one before (or its events have faded in your mind), make sure you go over it before settling down with the sequel. There is a sprawl of characters and plotlines, and as a narrator Nath is not the hand-holding sort.

As you may already know WoA uses its imagination to fill in the gaps of how the Ayodhya of beloved Indian mythology survived the 14 years of crown prince Rama's exile when brother Bharata became its reluctant ruler on account of his mother Kaikeyi's machinations. Rebellion crafted a multi-threaded fast-paced narrative with Bharata and Ayodhya facing threats from numerous sources, and Resurrection continues with those threads.

Compared to the Nath's previous Vikramaditya Veergatha (VV) series, the cast of characters and scope of events is smaller, but this is still a packed episodic narrative. Some of the evil plans hatched in the previous book are quelled here, but new ones are continually rising (if you think you're having a bad day in office, just think of poor Bharata who just can't seem to catch a break).

The strength of Nath's prose lies in its elegant simplicity, his ability to juggle several plotlines without getting all lost, and to blend exposition, intrigue and all-out action in just the right proportions to make the overall concoction tasty. As with the VV series, the chapters keep shifting between different characters. Like with the last couple of VV installments, I sometimes wished the individual chapters covered more ground before shifting, but that's a design decision, and it doesn't hugely impact my enjoyment of the book. For me the most interesting thread was the one dealing with the investigating officer Dileepa and his attempt to unravel the mysteries surrounding Ayodhya.

As a reader, I am hoping to see Kaikeyi develop further as a character and a shift coming in the relationship between her and Bharata. Surely, they didn't spend 14 years in bickering and cold-shouldering. Also, Kaikeyi is not just an ornamental palace queen, she is a brave warrior in her own right. I can't see her not actively coming to Ayodhya's aid when it is beset by crisis. Hopefully the thought is also brewing in Nath's mind and we will see some evolution in this regard in the books to come.

So yes, if you thought Rebellion was a good start, Resurrection keeps your expectations buoyed, and at the end you will be left wanting for the next installment. But this is the more important question - Will all the titles start with an Arrrr?

Book 1 of the Warlord of Ayodhya series was already a mind-blowing adventure, but Resurrection somehow manages to raise the bar even higher! Shatrujeet Nath’s storytelling is so vivid, it’s like watching a movie unfold in your head.

Picking up right where Rebellion left us hanging, Resurrection throws us back into the kingdom of Kosala, where things are going from bad to worse. Ayodhya is dealing with rakshasa attacks, a drought, people vanishing into thin air, and the magic that used to protect them is fading fast (again!). It’s chaos but in the best way possible.

What I loved most about this book are the characters. Bharat’s struggles feel so real, and even the supporting characters have their own stories to tell, with enough page space given to their motivations. The relationships and political scheming are super interesting and add so much depth to the plot.
The world-building is incredible too. Whether it’s epic battles or the haunting descriptions of the shadows that have besieged Ayodhya, Shatrujeet Nath’s attention to detail is mind-blowing. Just like Rebellion, this book also explores themes of duty, sacrifice, and the challenges of leadership.

The plot is like a puzzle, with all these different pieces coming together for a huge climax. The pacing is spot-on, and the last few chapters are a wild ride as the dominos set up earlier in the book fall rapidly, setting the stage for the next instalment.

While the ending of this book is not as much of a cliffhanger as the last one, (thank goodness!) I am in two minds about the way it wraps up. I’m intrigued to see how the author will tie up all the sub-plots that have taken root in this book.

As someone who grew up reading Western fantasy, discovering Indian authors like Shatrujeet Nath has been a game-changer. Mixing Indian mythology and culture with fantasy makes for such a unique and awesome reading experience.

If you love fantasy and myths or want to read something totally different, I can’t recommend the Warlord of Ayodhya series enough. It’s Indian mythology meets epic fantasy, and it’s absolutely brilliant.

Happy reading!

A great second act of a series that takes an imaginative detour into the multiple crises faced by one of the most ignored characters in Indian mythology.

While each of the Pandavas had their roles and subplots, Bharat's role in the most tellings of the Ramayana that I'm familiar with, starts and ends with the rather boring 'he was a good brother who ruled as a proxy for Ram'. The role of Shatrugna is even more diminished.

In the second installment of Warlord, Shatrujeet peels the layers back on Bharat's Ayodhya - a place beset by palace intrigue from a courtier who will stop at nothing - including murder - to become king, demonic aggressors, supernatural terrors, and increasingly emboldened and aggressive neighbors.

Among the most spectacular aspects of Warlord 2 is how much it packs into a slim volume. The beats of the narrative shift effortlessly between mediaeval power struggles, swashbuckling action, romance, fantastic fiction, existential angst, and - particularly towards the last act of the book - horror.

Through it all, the emotional core of the narrative remains rock solid - a reluctant monarch growing into an incredibly challenging role. If the Bharat of Book 1 was a callow youth who didn't have all the answers and chafed under responsibilities that had been imposed on him, we find him a lot more self assured in Book 2.

His distaste for his role and the circumstances under which he got it continue along with the consciousness of how he's viewed by his citizens. But they aren't capable of subsuming his profound sense of responsibility and his determination to do as good a job as possible under the circumstances.

Through the course of the book, tough decisions are made, and at least one beloved character bows out of the narrative.

If I have any quibbles, it ends on an aggravatingly intense cliffhanger, with Bharat and Shatrugna facing seemingly impossible odds. Onwards to Book 3!

Resurrection, the second book in the Warlord of Ayodhya series by Shatrujeet Nath, seamlessly continues the epic saga of King Bharat's journey as he navigates through treacherous plots, magical realms, and political upheavals in the kingdom of Ayodhya. Set in a richly crafted world filled with mythology, fantasy, love, betrayal, and duty, the narrative picks up right where Rebellion, the first part, left off. As Ayodhya faces impending threats from within and beyond its borders, Bharat must rise to the challenge of preserving his kingdom amidst chaos and dark magic.

What I Liked in This Book:

Engrossing Plot Development: The intricate plotting and seamless continuation from the first book make Resurrection a captivating read from start to finish. The author masterfully weaves together multiple storylines, including political intrigue, warfare, magical elements, and personal journeys, keeping readers hooked throughout.
Character Growth and Complexity: Bharat's character development as a ruler and individual facing immense challenges is portrayed with depth and nuance. The exploration of his inner conflicts, relationships, and responsibilities adds layers to the narrative, making him a relatable and compelling protagonist.
Rich Worldbuilding and Imagery: The vivid descriptions of Ayodhya, the River Kingdoms, and other fantastical realms immerse readers in a visually stunning and immersive experience. The author's attention to detail brings the setting and magical elements to life, enhancing the overall storytelling.
Intriguing Subplots and Diverse Characters: The inclusion of subplots involving love stories, palace politics, and alliances enriches the narrative, offering a balanced mix of action, romance, and intrigue. Strong female characters and a diverse cast contribute to the story's depth and appeal.
Masterful Cliffhanger Ending: The book concludes with a gripping cliffhanger that leaves readers eagerly anticipating the next installment. The suspenseful buildup and unresolved threads ensure a compelling continuation of the series.

Warlord of Ayodhya by Shatrujeet Nath delves deep into the mythological tapestry of ancient India, reimagining the epic saga of the Ramayana with a touch of supernatural forces. This book has been set in the backdrop of Kosala, which has been gripped by the dark magic of Lankan Sorceress, Simhika, as well as battling enemies from neighboring states.

We all know the story of Lord Ram being exiled for 14 years and waging a battle with Ravan to rescue Lady Sita. I have also come across retellings of Lord Ram’s story according to the creative liberty of various authors. What I found unique about this book is the fresh perspective of making, Bharat the protagonist which leaves a lot of room for creative storylines as to what happened in Kosala when Lord Ram was away.

I loved how the author portrayed Bharat in a very realistic and noble manner. The dark forces surrounding Kosala are multiplying exponentially however Bharat is trying to solve things one at a time trying his best to serve his people. I liked how the other characters like Mandavi, Bharat’s wife, and Urmila, Lakshman’s wife, shone bright in this storyline through their contribution to the protagonist who otherwise gets lost in transition when we read other retellings of Ramayan.

The author’s vivid and evocative prose transports readers to an action-packed universe, be it the epic battles between River Kingdoms and Nagnajit or between Kosala or Madhupura.

The author has crafted a captivating tale that seamlessly blends history, mythology, and fantasy. I feel this book stands as a worthy addition to the bandwagon of Ramayana retellings, offering a fresh and compelling interpretation of one of India's most beloved legends

In Ayodhya, Bharat struggles to rule after Rama, Sita and Lakshman have left. The magic that dwells in the city is inexplicably decreasing, and a plethora of problems besiege both Ayodhya and the kingdom of Kosala as a whole. People are disappearing at an alarming rate (and returning changed); there are enemies within and without; an ambitious warlord is plotting Bharat’s downfall; and far away, hostile armies are marching onward, looking to expand their territory.

Resurrection brings together many varied elements. There’s mythology, of course: several of the characters, such as Bharat, Shatrughna, Mandavi and Kaikeyi are from the Ramayana. But the mythology angle here is muted; Nath merely takes the basic premise of a magical, divine Ayodhya, ruled by a reluctant king Bharat, and infuses it with plenty of adventure, intrigue, mystery, pathos, and horror to create a fast-paced fantasy novel. There’s plenty happening, never a dull moment. Also, the period details are good (and not overdone, thank goodness), and there’s a handy glossary at the beginning to help.

I enjoyed the first book of the series, Rebellion; I enjoyed Resurrection even more. I will admit I had forgotten the exact details of what had happened in Rebellion, and since this one is a continuation of that, it took a while to grasp the story; but Nath builds in enough clues to help a forgetful reader understand what happened before, so even if you haven’t read Rebellion (or have a bad memory), you can still make sense of this.

Solid entertainment. I’d certainly recommend this one.

Bharat is facing many problems in Kosala like drought, people disappearing, and loss of magic. Bharat performs agnimanasa for all his problems. Agnimanasa starts to work, and after 2-3 years, Kosala has its first rain, and the state's magic is gaining, but this is all short-lived. People's disappearances don't stop, and the magic loses its power again. All the work Bharat wants for his state remains incomplete. His upanayaka and kshatri are making strategies for Bharat to be removed from the king's post. Bharat is also facing new problems like disputes among the people, and his Yuddhajeet mama comes to him for help.

ℳ𝓎 𝒯𝒽ℴ𝓊ℊ𝒽𝓉 :- I have always been interested in Indian mythology and I have heard and read all stories, especially about Ram. How he was exiled from Ayodhya for 14 years. Although it has never been clear to me what happened to Ayodhya when Ram left. How did Bharat manage Ayodhya for 14 years? Were the people ready to accept him as king?
At first, when I saw this book, I thought it was another story about Ram. But when I started reading, I was shocked and excited because it was my first time reading anything regarding Bharat's side of the story and how he managed Ayodhya for 14 years.
The author's language is easy-going. All characters are presented beautifully, and the story is really intriguing. This makes you want to keep reading to find out what happens next. The book ends on a cliffhanger, so I am eagerly waiting for the next book to be released. This book is really interesting. If you like mythology, you should read this book.

The magic of Ayodhya is fading, and adversaries are plotting to overthrow King Bharat. Surviving a targeted attack intensifies Bharat's vigilance against threats, especially it put threat to the life of his son and he strives to gain acceptance from the people of Ayodhya as he still feels responsible for all the tragedy happened whether it's death of Dashrath or Ram's exile alongwith Suta and Lakshmana.

Both Rakshasas and humans are eager for revenge, and the disappearance of individuals exacerbates the situation. Discover how Bharat, facing the terror in people's hearts, endeavors to restore Dharma, protect Ayodhya with magic, and bring about peace by delving into this captivating sequel.

The second installment of Warlord of Ayodhya maintains the same lucid narrative style and offers an engaging, thrilling, and adventurous plot. The characters, with their multifaceted layers, sustain the excitement, transforming the story into a rich tapestry rather than a flat narrative commonly found in historical fiction and mythology.

Interesting aspects in both the installments include shading the light of importance to those characters which are normally ignored while we hear Ramayan whether it's general public, soliders, nagarpal or wives of Bharat, Shatrughan and Lakshmana. This approach adds depth and nuance to the storytelling, providing a refreshing perspective on the epic.

Without any doubt it's an amazing read and one must read both the parts to enjoy another unseen aspect of Ramayan.

- The cover is minimalist focused and brings attention to the choice of weapon. Each series in the Warlord of Ayodhya has a different weapon to check out. It is a research in itself.

- Shatrujeet Nath writes like a dream. His ability to evoke imagery in storytelling is powerful. I don't have to consciously make any efforts to bring out the imagined scenes and dialogues, they simply swirl while I read

- The language is easy to understand and given the Indian context all Indian readers can easily identify with the situations and scenarios presented

- The pace of the story is mostly moving at a moderate pace, ensuring that the readers don't feel the strain of the the events happening all together at the same time and yet ensuring that the attention doesn't waver from reading. If you can do it, you can even finish this book at one go!

- The support of other characters to the building of Bharata's attempts to rule well with justice and balance is an important aspect to be considered.

To say that I enjoyed this book at one go is really telling about the way Shatrujeet writes. If you think I am sounding like a fan of his work.... well, he is one of the most stellar authors that India must notice in mytho-fiction format. However, I wouldn't typecast him with that genre specific title. He is definitely an author worth looking out for!

Meanwhile the Book 3 (the last of this series 'The Warlord of Ayodhya' is awaited eagerly!

I've not much explored the mythological history but I'm always very excited and interested to know about it and that's the only reason I decided to pick this book💗
Ofc, as the title depicts, the book has The Ramayana characters and it revolves around a sudden occurrence of a disease because of which the people are disappearing in the kingdom and it also involves rakshas as any other mythological story. 👑
Bharat is responsible for protecting the kingdom as his brother is away because of thr banvas. 🌲🌳🌴he's in a difficult situation and it's being hard for him to manage.

The book gives the perfect level of tension which was very engaging while reading and I was on the verge of knowing what happens next. 🥰
The book as a total of 11 chapters which are divided in 428 pages, yup really long chapters, which I'm not fond of generally but as the story as mythological, the long chapters seemed good. ☺loved that the glossary was given in the beginning to understand the terminology which made it easier to understand the story 🌺
The story was good to read, very informative and the mythology angle it had was great. 🥰
Also, I've not read book-1 and reading book-2 felt like there's some information missing but still I could make sense as I proceeded so that's good:)
Overall, I liked reading it.☺

"Warlord of Ayodhya: Resurrection" delves deeper into the chaotic world of Ayodhya's governance in Rama's absence, building upon Shatrujeet Nath's epic tale. The entire while, readers are kept on the edge of their seats as Nath deftly handles intricate plot turns and captivating character journeys while Bharat battles the heavy responsibilities placed upon him. Nath crafts a profound and captivating narrative that grips readers from start to finish with adrenaline-pumping action and a nuanced exploration of themes like loyalty and sacrifice. There are many sentences in this beautifully written book that stick with you long after you've turned the page. Because of Shatrujeet's extraordinary skill in using words to describe a scenario, every moment of the novel comes to life. While the softer moments of human dynamics are constructed with a care that adds dimensions to the characters, the action passages are staged with a polish that makes them pop off the page. It's reasonable to assume that this is a building tease for the last chapter, which has readers like myself excited for this epic narrative to come to a close. Shatrujeet's position as a superb storyteller is reaffirmed. This novel is a captivating, fast-paced journey that engrosses you entirely and leaves you craving more.

Shatrujeet's story is a maze of interest and tension, with each turn presenting more intricacies and difficulties. The manner in which he meshes enchantment into the texture of the story is completely virtuoso. The wizardry in "Warlord of Ayodhya" series, took care of with inventiveness and imagination, is a person by its own doing - strong yet limited by its own guidelines and restrictions.

Individuals of Ayodhya are vanishing individually and Dandapala of state can't figure out the way things are occurring however as the time develops individuals began returning yet there is an evil thing about it.

One could feel the strain that was made on the fundamental person ruler Bharat. At each page the book gets seriously exciting and this makes it a high speed read. The language is simple and story is effective with the end goal that the story streams quick like sand in an hourglass.
The closure is with the end goal that it will leave you needing for more. I simply cant sit tight for the following part.

There are a sum of eleven parts in the book. Learning about our set of experiences was a decent encounter for me. I finished this book in the span of seven days . I adored the story so much and delighted in understanding it.

This book is AMAZING!
I couldn't put this book down till the very end—I haven't read a mythical fantasy series in a very long time.
I had high expectations because this is centred on Bharat, the brother of Lord Rama who rules as king after Ram is destroyed, but the screech was so intense that it put me into a trance!

The world creation is really unique, the writing is great, and the pace is quick.
I expect all fantasy novels to have an engaging plot with easily relatable, intelligent characters, and Shatrujeet Nath has done a fantastic job crafting it.
I quickly read through the pages because I found everything about the world building, characters, epic story telling, characterization of Rakshaksas, combat sequences, moral lessons, political intrigue, and the highs and lows of an imminent war filled with secrets and suspense to be excellent.I have to admit, this book is a must-read because of the incredible storytelling and writing.
With a BANG, it was over!

For those who enjoy mythical fantasy, especially those who are just starting out, this book is highly recommended if you're searching for something fresh and engaging to read.
