অর্ধ ডজন
মানুষ পরিবর্তনশীল। তবে বলা দুষ্কর যে কখন বা কেন একজন মানুষ পাল্টে যায়। এবং তার চেয়েও কঠিন হলো এটা বোঝা বা অনুমান করা যে মানুষটা কতটা গভীর ভাবে পাল্টে গিয়ে এমন কেউ হয়ে দাঁড়াবে যাকে আর পরিচিত বলে মনে হবেনা। এই গ্রন্থে মলাটবন্দি করা হলো এমনই ছটি গল্প। ভয়, আশা, রাগ, আনন্দ, আরো হাজারো অনুভূতির জগাখিচুড়ী ভেতরে নিয়ে রোজ ডালভাত খাওয়া, বাসে ট্রামে চলাফেরা করা আমার আপনার মতন মানুষের গল্প। ভালোবাসা, লোভ, প্রতিশোধ বা এদের কোনো মিশেলের কারণে তাদের বদলে যাওয়ার কাহন। কখনো অতিপ্রাকৃতিকের হালকা ছোঁয়ায়, কখনো কোনো সূক্ষ্ম অনুভূতির ওপর আতশকাঁচ ধরে, কখনো বা রহস্যে সমাধানের মধ্যে দিয়ে তাদের গল্প বলার প্রচেষ্টায় রইলো এই সংকলন - অর্ধডজন।

দীর্ঘ চার মাস বাদে অবশেষে প্রণবেশ এর বইটি পড়ে শেষ করতে পারলাম। বিভিন্ন কাজের ব্যস্ততায় সময় হয়ে ওঠেনি বইটা পড়ার। লেখকের এর আগের বই 'নব' এর কিছু গল্প বেশ ভালো লেগেছিল তাই এবারেও আশা করেছিলাম একইরকম - বলা বাহুল্য আশাহত হয়নি। এই পাঠ প্রতিক্রিয়া টি মূলত দুজনের যৌথ উদ্যোগে লেখা; আমি ও আমার মা।
অর্ধ ডজন - যেটা সংখ্যায় দাঁড়ায় ৬ ; বইটিতে আছে ৬টি ভিন্ন ঘরানার গল্প। কল্পনা ও বাস্তবতার মিশ্রণে লেখা এই বইটি অনেকাংশে লেখক এর আগের বই 'নব'কে পিছনে ফেলে দেয়। এবার আশা যাক প্রত্যেক টি গল্পের ব্যাপারে।
টিকিট - বাংলা হোক বা অন্য ভাষা; স্বপ্ন বা হ্যালুসিনেশন ছোটগল্পের একটা প্রধান হাতিয়ার। পাপ - পুণ্যের খেলায় কে যেতে কে হারে, কার জীবন কতটা সত্যি আর কতটা মিথ্যে সেটা কেই বা জানে - সে নিজে আর ভগবান ছাড়া। গল্পটি ভালোভাবে গুছিয়ে লিখলেও গল্পের গতিপথ কি হতে পারে, সেটা পাঠক ঠিকই কল্পনা করতে পারে।
প্রহরী - বইটির আর ৫টা গল্পের মত এই গল্প টা নয়। আমি এবং মা দুজনেই এই গল্পটা পড়ে একটা রেশ এর মধ্যে ছিলাম। সমাজ, প্রথা, রীতিনীতি, উপজাতি কেন্দ্রিক এই গল্পটি সব মানুষের পড়া উচিত। টানটান উত্তেজনা, সাথে একটা ভয় - যেনো এক প্রহরী সবসময় পাঠক কে আড়াল থেকে দেখে চলেছে।
পোর্ট্রেট - এক কিশোরের আবিষ্কৃত পরাশক্তি ; এটা কি আশীর্বাদ না অভিশাপ? কিশোর গল্পের আড়ালে ফুটিয়ে তোলে নব প্রজন্মের মানসিকতা, প্রতিশোধস্পৃহা, এবং পৈশাচিক আনন্দ - তেমন ই অন্যদিকে কেন্দ্রবিন্দুতে রাখে অন্তরের টানাপোড়েন।
ভিটামিন টি - একটি ক্যাফে কেন্দ্রিক লেখনী, যার মধ্যে আছে সম্পর্কের বুনন এবং ঘেরাটোপ।
ফর্দ - গল্পটি অনেকাংশে খাপছাড়া লেগেছে, কিন্তু গল্পের বুনন নিয়ে কথা বলার প্রয়োজন নেই।
কার্স অফ কার্শিয়াং - একটি চিরাচরিত 'whodunit' মার্ডার মিস্ট্রি - কিন্তু গল্পের পটভূমি কেন্দ্রবিন্দুতে রাখে একটি অসাধারণ বিষয় যেটা অনেকেই উপেক্ষা করে যায়। ভৌতিকতার আড়ালে সাজানো একটা ষড়যন্ত্র এবং তাকে ধামাচাপা দেওয়ার প্রচেষ্টা - পাঠক দের শেষ পর্যন্ত টানটান রোমহর্ষক ব্যাপার টার সাক্ষী দেবে। নেরুদা থেকে শুরু করে রক গান এবং শৈল্পিক কারুকার্যের প্রভাব এই গল্পের মধ্যে পরোক্ষ ভাবে লক্ষ্য করা যায়।
প্রহরী ছাড়া বাকি সব গল্পের কিছু অংশ কোনো না কোনো ভাবে বিভিন্ন সিনেমা বা গল্প থেকে অনুপ্রাণিত। বইপোকাদের চোখের আড়াল তা হবে না এটা বলাই বাহুল্য। থ্রিলারপ্রেমীদের কাছে গল্পের এক তৃতীয়াংশের পর থেকে কি ঘটতে পারে এবং কিভাবে সেটা আন্দাজ করা খুব একটা কঠিন হবে বলে মনে হয় না।
বাংলায় প্রথাগত শিক্ষালাভ না হওয়ার পরেও লেখকের বাংলা ভাষায় লেখা চালিয়ে চাওয়ার জন্য প্রশংসা প্রাপ্য। কিন্তু আগের বই এর মত এই বইটিতেও লেখাকেন্দ্রিক এবং প্রিন্টে অনেক ভুল ত্রুটি লক্ষ্য করা যায়, আশা করি সেটা আগামী প্রকাশনায় ঠিক হয়ে যাবে। সর্বশেষে একটু অন্যরকমের গল্পের - প্রান্তিক মানুষজন থেকে কুয়াশাঘেরা অলৌকিক লৌকিকতার, সম্পর্কের বেড়াজাল থেকে পাপ - পুণ্যের হিসেব কষার স্বাদ যদি নিতে চান; 'অর্ধ ডজন' অবশ্যই পড়ে দেখতে পারেন।

"Awrdho Dawjon" is a stupendous collection of six stories that explore the complexities of human nature and the transformative power of emotions. Pronobesh didn't fail to reflect upon nuances of trivial lives, caging the essence of human experiences like passion, elation, grudge, anger, fear etc. Pranobesh analyses catalysts for change, such as love, greed, and revenge, often adding a supernatural twist or mystery.
📌 Ticket: The author recounts how a simple bedtime routine with their one-year-old son, Shubhayu, sparked the creation of a captivating story. The tale of a man on a mysterious train, interrogated by a ticket checker, began as a spontaneous bedtime story and quickly evolved into a more substantial piece. Despite numerous attempts, no other story has emerged with the same organic intensity, highlighting the unique and unpredictable nature of creative inspiration.
📌Prohori: The story draws inspiration from their educational years in Jamshedpur and Jadugora and beautifully encapsulates the harmonious coexistence of the local people with nature, offering a profound interpretation of the term 'Adivasi.'

Observing people documenting the gridlock with their phones, the author imagines an era before photography, when history was recorded through paintings. This leads to the concept of an extraordinary artist who paints lifelessness instead of life.

There are many new and interesting concepts highlighted in this book that really make you think. But really believe me I am stunned to read this wonderful unbelievable story. The presentation of the story is awesome. I know, everybody will love it and here I am reviewing it anyway. When you start reading this one, you cannot control your mind.

The presentation of the story is awesome. The book brings out new definitions and new unnoticed things and as a reader, I've been finding myself turning impressed with the work of author on narrating a different book where everyone is bringing out similar stories.
