The last thing bar manager Sam Litchfield expects to see when he gets home from work just weeks before Christmas is something crash landing in his backyard. This was not great and not the usual quality writing that I expect from this author.
My biggest issue with the book is the toddler alien. Is he an actual toddler? No, but he’s supposedly 3ft tall, wears a 3T and all of his actions are written as if he is a foot tall. I kept picturing a baby Yoda doll.
Their intimate scenes were repetitive and boring. I also question the choice to have an alien with tentacles but also all human anatomy as well. The demon book was amazing. I’ve read it three times. I’ve read all of Delaney’s books dozens of times. This will be one that I hope to forget. Ugh

Um. I know that both characters are adults, but once the size comparison between Bhanzier and 3T clothing sizes, it got stuck in my head that he was the size of a small child and I just got squicked out.

I couldn’t wait to continue this Christmas themes muti-author series focused on tentacles when I realized the next book was written by none other than Delaney Rain!
I discovered the author this year and I love her stories. She writes crazy things and makes it work even when you think she won’t be able to pull it out hahaha
It’s a pity the series doesn’t have any connection between characters, because that means even if you like supporting characters, maybe there won’t ever be a book for them. Fingers crossed here for the authors to decide to continue the stories creating their own series apart from Tinsel & Tentacles (I know sometimes authors do that with books that first are included in multi-author series).
This title follows a pretty short story about a guy who loves everything Christmas related. He works at a bar and saves the little money he owns to buy Christmas decorations each year. But this year won’t be like any other Christmas before: an alien crashes on his yard!
I loved how Delaney made the alien really alien-like! Bhanzier is like the usual little grey alien that we saw in old alien movies. He’s small and full of tentacles, but he’s so darn cute too!! As you read, you start wondering how they will pull it off since Sam and Bhanzier are so different physically speaking that imagining a relationship between the two that involves sex it’s difficult.
But as I said at the beginning, if someone can make this kind of bizarre situation work, that’s Delaney Rain. And she did it!
The book is short, but the evolution of their relationship is smooth and doesn’t feel forced. I loved their first encounter and how things slowly change between the two. Also, the universe has so much potential that I’m here wishing for the author to keep writing stories set on it.
There’s not much I can talk about Sam and Bhanzier’s relationship without spoiling all the fun, so I’m just going to say that you should check it if you are a little bit intrigued. It’s not long (115 pages) so it won’t be a hardship, and I’m sure you will find it interesting and different from the usual tentacled romances out there.

Soon it becomes clear that Bhanzier likes being in charge, Sam likes that too and tentacles can get into lots of fun places. Sam starts to wish Bhanzier didn't ever have to leave. This was a sweet story with a cute little alien with some serious tentacle skills and Sam who loved Christmas and was fiercely protective of those he cared about. I thought the ending was a little convenient and abrupt but I was still pleased that it had a happy ending. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.

C'est un satellite ! C'est une météorite ! C'est un… petit vaisseau spatial extraterrestre ?
La dernière chose que le gérant du bar, Sam Litchfield, s'attend à voir en rentrant du travail, quelques semaines avant Noël, c'est un engin s'écrasant dans son jardin. Et comme il a passé le trajet à entendre à la radio parler d'une météorite filant dans le ciel, Sam est seulement prêt à parler aux autorités d'une roche spatiale.
Que faire alors qu'il s'agit en réalité d'un extraterrestre d'un mètre de haut avec des tentacules en guise de bras dans un vaisseau spatial en panne ? Eh bien, dans l'esprit des fêtes, Sam aide Bhanzier à se mettre à l'abri du froid et à commencer les réparations de son vaisseau.
Ils ne tardent pas à découvrir que Bhanzier aime être aux commandes, Sam aime ça aussi, et que de minuscules tentacules peuvent se faufiler dans plein d'endroits amusants. Sam commence à regretter que Bhanzier ait eu à partir.
Mais deux agents du FBI pensent savoir que quelque chose s'est écrasé dans le jardin de Sam, et Sam se souvient alors qu'il s'est inscrit au Holiday Homes Tour avec des juges qui veulent aussi entrer.
Sam est déterminé à protéger Bhanzier des regards indiscrets. Mais le renvoyer dans l'espace et le perdre à jamais est-il vraiment le seul moyen ?

Sam éteignit la radio. Il hésitait à chercher des nouvelles de la météorite sur son téléphone, car cela risquait de le rendre dangereux s'il perdait la notion du temps. Il dormait généralement environ six heures, passait un peu de temps à réparer la maison, puis retournait au bar le soir. « Non », décida-t-il en sortant et en se dirigeant vers la porte d'entrée. Il découvrirait ce qui était arrivé à la météorite en prenant un café le lendemain matin.
Il leva les yeux, mais ne vit aucune boule de feu. Il ne vit qu'un avion. Euh, peut-être ? Il plissa les yeux et vit ce qui ressemblait à un simple avion sans ailes. Une fusée ? Non, c'était idiot. Oh ! C'était peut-être un satellite. Pas une météorite, mais un satellite qui perdait son orbite et s'écrasait. Bon sang, s'il n'avait pas internet maintenant, il serait furieux. Il ne paierait pas pour…
Attendez. Qu'est-ce que j'entends ? Était-ce le satellite ? Ce gémissement aigu ressemblait à un avion qui s'écrase, comme dans tous les films qu'il avait vus avec un satellite. Et était-ce… Sam recula. Venait-il par ici ?
Il eut quelques secondes pour réaliser qu'il ne savait plus quoi faire, et soudain, le satellite fila droit au-dessus de sa maison. Il s'écrasa quelque part derrière la grange ! Il sut qu'il avait frappé, car il sentit la vibration et entendit l'explosion.
« Putain », murmura-t-il en clignant des yeux. « Qu'est-ce que je… » Il regarda derrière lui sans savoir pourquoi, mais personne n'était pressé. « Mais quelqu'un devrait probablement … », se dit-il en réalisant qu'il devait prévenir. Sortant son téléphone, Sam trotta vers la grange et fit le tour derrière.
Ah oui, quelque chose d'extrêmement rapide avait heurté le sol et creusé un sillon de la longueur d'un terrain de football. Il avait toujours pensé que les satellites étaient fragiles et filiformes, mais ce salaud était arrivé comme une boule de démolition. Il avait eu une chance incroyable qu'il n'ait pas détruit sa maison en entrant ! Un angle légèrement plus bas, et il aurait pu passer directement à travers sa porte d'entrée.
Sam s'éloigna des dégâts, pensant qu'il ne fallait pas trop s'approcher au cas où il y aurait des radiations, une explosion ou autre. Il voyait l'endroit où le satellite s'était arrêté et ça avait vraiment l'air métallique. Et tubulaire. Euh, en fait, ça ressemblait à une fusée. Ou à une torpille.
Il s'arrêta net. Non. N'est-ce pas ? Impossible que ce soit une bombe non explosée. Impossible . C'était absolument impossible que quelqu'un puisse tirer une arme aussi grosse sans que personne ne le sache. Le DJ l'aurait dit. Et qui diable lancerait une bombe nucléaire sur le centre de l'Ohio ? Personne. La plupart des Américains ne savaient même pas situer l'Ohio sur une carte, alors il n'allait pas croire une seconde qu'une puissance étrangère visait son champ de maïs inactif.
Sam s'approcha en trottinant, curieux de voir s'il pouvait trouver une étiquette – un drapeau, un code-barres ou n'importe quel autre symbole qu'on met sur les satellites. Parce que c'était bien ça, un satellite. Il y verrait probablement le logo de son foutu fournisseur d'accès internet. Et s'il n'y avait rien d'identifiable, il appellerait les secours et les laisserait s'en occuper.
Dans un sifflement et un bang, une trappe sur le dessus du satellite s'ouvrit brusquement. Sam trébucha et s'arrêta net lorsqu'une petite personne avec des tentacules en sortit.
Un extraterrestre.
C'était un extraterrestre !

Genuinely curious about authors who don't think about the continuous nature of some of their character traits. At one point in this book our little alien guy stands underneath the other characters dick and the alien is described as being 3 ft tall. So you're telling me that this other guy is well over 6 ft. And that's fine whatever but then there's points where the little alien walks on the other's guy's chest and says it doesn't weigh more than a cat. So alien guy is max 30 lb. Another one talks about how tall guys hand covers the entire breath of alien guys chest and either alien guy is smaller than listed or tall guy's hand is giant.
How's that for an introduction to a review 😂
Despite my issues with the way the two characters were described and the differences that happened throughout the book, this one was okay. It's not great but it was fine. I kind of liked a little alien.

My second Delaney Rain read, and I loved it even more than the first! I dig the little Easter Eggs some authors put in their books, alluding to other series, a website, perhaps. Sometimes readers dive further into authors' works to learn & discover "all the things!", readers are often curious like that. Kinda like our little Bhanzier, and Sam. Talk about a size difference! But it all worked! I'll not spoil anything, read the spicy, sweet, creative and funny story of the alien & the man named Sam. You'll find some interesting ways to get around obstacles, and a wonderfully swoony & surprising HEA. Great story.
Having just recently read Delaney's Demon Dealbreaker, I am definitely ready to dive into more from this author. Looks like my cuppa all the way!

Aliens for Christmas
An amusing little story of two very different....people? Beings?.......meeting and becoming attracted. It just so happens that one of those people is a three foot tall alien who crash lands in the others back yard. It was a quick flowing story, with some fun pop culture references and quite a bit of Christmas decorations. The only thing is the connection between the two leads felt rushed, never quite as big as it ends up being. As such it was overall a bit of a tepid read with no real feeling of risk as the idea of the two characters being together was not really sold.

As with every book by this author I'm always left wanting more, purely because I enjoy the characters and story so much I'd like to see explored/developed further. The writing is lovely and the concept so much fun, I adored Sam and Bhanzier.
While the romance is pretty instant, I enjoyed their dynamic so much and they're so sweet together. Plenty of spicy moments as well.
I liked how Sam adapted his home for Bhanzier, along with the aliens in general it was so sweet to see. Although he probably could have found small clothing and such without resorting to children's stuff.
Oh I loved all the Christmas decorations and feels too, with the competition and initial pop up Santa at the bar was hilarious.
Also I'd love to see a story for Rude! He was stunning and after the reveal, I'm even more intrigued.

This is a quick, low-angst read with a Christmas-loving human and the 3-foot grey alien who crash-lands in his back yard. CW: Bhanzier is the size of a human toddler even though he is definitely an adult, so stay away if that weirds you out. (He’s a tentacled grey alien, so it was sufficiently alien and different not to squick me.)

I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from this one, but ended up getting a fun, easy story featuring a cute bar manager and an even cuter alien. I enjoyed the low-angst feel of the book that gave off great Christmas vibes along with hope that not all humans would immediately try to dissect anything from outer space (and that not everything from outer space would be out to eat/conquer/destroy humans). Short but definitely sweet (with a decent portion of smut), I enjoyed this one.

This is a very cute meet book. It's cute and merry from beginning to end. The two main characters were just swoon worthy. I loved them. There isn't much angst in this book, but it didn't really take away from the story. I recommend this as a Christmas romance must read. I could read this book multiple times without losing interest. So go out there and get your own copy and experience the cuteness overload for yourself.

November 13, 2025Dnf at 16% but skipped ahead a little after I quit. Size differences are just fine, and a natural occurrence. But this felt disturbing on a infantilizing way. Saying they’re adorable, you want to hold their hand to help them walk like you would a child. Only for them to turn around and be sexual. But still put emphasis on a toddler sized body.
I guess I’m struggling with this in general. If it were a person of short stature writing or recommending this book, it would feel better.

Cute, sweet story!
This was a quick read and a lot of fun! I love the alien being so much smaller but super bossy instead of being bigger like most alien/tentacle books I’ve come across. It was a fun deviation from the norm!

I absolutely adored this story. This was such a sweet and cute story. I absolutely loved the size difference and when you throw in aliens and tentacles it made for a fantastic and fun read. This was such a heartwarming Christmas story.

It's a cute MM story with a twist. One M is a three foot tall alien with tentacles for arms.
Sounds crazy, but the story is tight and believable. The sex scenes are hot, and the ending is extremely satisfying. It's definitely worth your time.

December 16, 2023I picked up this one because I've read and enjoyed some other books by the author, and it was short but cute. The alien lover is, like, three feet tall, and his tentacles are not on his bottom half but make up his arms. It's fun when an author does something a little bit different.
