She’s heading home...

Dani, having discovered more about herself than she bargained for, has only one thing in mind. Find Lilith and make her pay. She wants Dani back, but on her terms, playing her game. Dani discovers that submitting to the darkness is a hard and tempting habit to break, but when the handsome angel she has started to care for begs for her forgiveness, she discovers that maybe there is more to fight for. Though, when Lilith’s mind games get too close, Dani will have to decide if she’s really the monster she’s been told she is or if she’s the hero she’s never wanted to be.

Even angels have their demons…

Nicholas hasn’t been the same since what happened at The Skies, but putting on a brave face is what sentry angels do, right? With the weight of so many hidden truths on his shoulders and the past haunting him at every turn he must enter the one place that might just break him. Nicholas just wants to make it back home, preferably with a pretty demon by his side, but as harrowing darkness floods his mind and body, the once proud angel will have to swallow his pride and fight for his sanity. He’ll learn that the only way back to the light is accepting the dark.

where do i even begin?!

with book three coming out in a month i had to get my life together and catch up and wow oh wow this saved me from the book slump of all slumps.

DANI and Nick went through some tough shit in the first book and i LOVED how this one handled Nick’s feelings and anxieties and traumas on the events that happened. i feel like it’s never really discussed in books and even though he was pissing me off with his “i’m fine” attitude when he was clearly NOT fine, it’s such a realistic way men deal with issues.

and Dani 😭 my girl knew what she wanted and didn’t falter until she got it. 💅🏼

there is some delicious jealousy (on nick’s part) that happens with a former hookup of Dani’s and she does play into it a little by straddling the om but she is 100000% not into it and has a role to play to get information. and Dani is a better woman than me because when some demons try to flirt with Nick she said that she knows who he belongs to so she isn’t jealous 😂😂😂 love that for her. could never be me 🫣😂

the author has shared some snippets of book three and it seems there might be some ow drama with Nick’s ex and even though Dani isn’t worried…i’m worried it will be an Iron Flame ow situation which i hated. obvs i’m going to save my judgements until i read it but im trying to steel my stomach just in case 😂

I may be her pet, but you are her monster.

Book two starts off right where we end in book one. And boy did it have my blood boiling by the treatment of Dani and Elise. Like they were huge parts in saving all your behinds and you are really going to respond like that?!?! You might be thinking what could possibly make your blood boil right at the beginning of a book? Well, they are sending our girls back to purgatory with the most insincere thanks they could have possibly have gotten. Even if it's what the girls and guys (oh yeah the boys are heading to purgatory) were planning on doing, they should have had the option and been treated more fairly but whatever.

Fast forward not very long and there we are in Purgatory which if I am being honest isn't as terrifying as I thought it was going to be. It kind of has the vibes going for it and some pretty neat characters we get to meet along the way. Honorable mentions to Axel and Beetee. But like wait a second let's talk about these two for a moment. Where do I even begin with Axel? He's a freaking Hellhound and oh my gosh he is just the cutest and coolest all at once. He's super loveable but can be scary as all heck when he has to. Much good boi if I am being honest. Now Beetee she is just a freaking ray of sunshine, pure golden retriever energy. She's definitely one to look out for in this book. On level of importance for my own scale, I feel like she is at the utmost top.

Anyways, the gang is off in purgatory to get ready to face down with Lilith, but they face a lot of obstacles along the way. Not limited to literal fighting of bad guys but their own deep personally rooted issues as well. Nick had a lot of things go down for him in book one and he's dealing with so much grief. He had to battle people he had once cared for in the first book and lost some people that meant a lot to him and he didn't really get the time to heal from it or even get on level ground before they had to continue on.

This book has some serious reveals and twists and it's quite the ride.

A very special thank you for this ARC because the journey was so such a ride!

Thank you to Allie and Katy for the ARC of Legendary. Below is my unbiased review.

It took me two weeks to read this book. I can normally get through 600+ page books in a day or two but I struggled, here; and I don't know why.

Here are some things I loved:
1. The story picks up not long after the last book left off; get me right back in the thick of it, Allie! Yesss.
2. The really interesting paranormal twist on PTSD with Nick struggling following Jonah's death was really well done. The twisting darkness of it that morphed into panic attacks? Very clever.
3. We met Beetee, whose existence will have a huge effect on the team in the next book, I'm sure. Pink-haired, snake girl is absolutely my vibe and I wish her nothing but goodness forever. Particularly with how she takes no shit from Elise. Speaking of which...
4. Elise is still a stubborn, spiky bitch and I *love* that for her.
5. Nick on his knees and the makeup sex that occurred thereafter. We love a man who learns, apologises, atones and does better thereafter. He is routinely the goodest boy and deserves the very best.
6. The girls beating up the demons outside Leviathan. Absolute badasses.
7. Reese and Elise' hate-to-love/love-to-hate relationship is potentially one of my favourites. I cannot *wait* for them to truly become besties because we would not survive that sass!

Things I didn't:
1. The overuse of ", but" throughout the book.
There was one passage where this particular punctuation-word phrase was used in four consecutive sentences. It was oftentimes unnecessary and became so grating I'd have to take a lil breather. In truth, the writing of the sequel did not feel as on par with the writing of the first.
2. Dani's response to Nick's feelings when they go to Leviathan and she straddles Dimitri.
The action that followed them leaving the club through their discussion about it felt cruel? I get she's a demon and they're in her world, yaddayadda, but *yeesh*. I can't figure out the best way to explain how I felt about this. All I can think about is that if it were the other way around she'd have lost her shit watching him do the same and, had he told her she was "pouting" about it because he hadn't made her orgasm before they'd left for the club, we'd be hearing about how problematic and emotionally manipulative it was. Big ick that I struggled to get over.
3. The pacing.
The time spent at the hostel like a vacation between excursions to a forest, a rock, a club, the club a second time, and the weird fight outside was weird. I felt like there was little to no urgency; I'm actually not sure how long they were in Purgatory for?

Did it need to be over 600 pages? No, not really. I think it could probably do with another edit.
But was it chock-full of action, smut, banter and lore? Yes! Reese and Elise give me life on a regular basis. The bathroom scene back at the club? Goddamn.

All in all, while I didn't enjoy this read as much as I did Living Legend, it answered some of my questions and asked some more, and it was a joy to be back in this clever world with these brilliant characters. The whole team have survived (haven't decided whether I like this or not!) and I look forward to finding out who the Big Baddie for the next book will be!

You guys are probably sick of me professing my love for Living Legend but this book, this book right here, man Allie really took it to a whole other level.

I was fortunate enough to receive an eARC of Legendary, releasing March 4. I easily give this all the stars for the writing and how it made me feel emotionally.

𝙄 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖 𝙘𝙧𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙚𝙡𝙛𝙞𝙚 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙢𝙮 𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙖𝙩 12:30𝙖𝙢 𝙩𝙤 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚 🫣

I enjoyed seeing a new side of Nick and getting more insight from Reese and Elise. We get some new lovable characters and oh boy the spice was spicing *chefs kiss 😮‍💨

I will keep this pretty spoiler free but I would stop reading now if you haven’t read Living Legend just in case.

This book picks right back up from the events in Living Legend and Nicholas is unsuccessfully navigating the grief he is facing while Reese and his dad try to help. But he is “fine” and determined to make things right with Dani.

Ohhh but our girl Dani is not going to make it easy on our sweet Nicholas and he is going to have to work for it. Dani is still pissed at Elise but the band is back together again to head to purgatory and the banter we all love is in full swing 😂

“𝙔𝙤𝙪 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙄 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙩 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙙*𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛𝙛.”

But back in purgatory Dani is facing inner demons of her own as they try to find answers to take down Lilith. Dani is willing to do almost anything to get those answers and that does not make Nicholas oh so happy 👀 But will they get the answers they need to stop Lilith?

Things are finally heating up in more ways than one in purgatory. “𝙊𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙠𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙨, 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙮 𝙤𝙣𝙚.” Everything is escalating quickly, secrets are unfolding, Nick is about to explode and Dani feels like she is getting backed into a corner.

Will Dani and Nick rekindle their relationship? Will Dani and Elise makeup? Will they be able to stop Lilith?

Read Legendary March 4th to find out 😊

Allie girl, you have done it again. 👏🏻
I'm not okay though. Like I am, but I'm not. I cried during a scene with Nick. Like I felt that pain he was feeling and I cried. 😭 and Dani being there, to help him....made me cry even harder. Yes, I was an emotional mess. Don't worry though there were many good laughing moments. One especially I couldn't stop laughing at. Oh man, Dani did Nick and Reese wrong, but it was hilarious.
This book picks up right where we left off in Living Legend and the chaos continues. It's a wild ride through Purgatory. We find out quite a bit about each of our favorite characters. Nick, Reese, Dani, and yes even a bit about Elise. As well as some new characters we meet. Beetee I absolutely loved and definitely can't forget Axel! Oh my gosh Axel cracked me up, especially with Reese.
Allie doesn't disappoint with the world building. I absolutely love how as I'm reading her books, I'm picturing everything so vividly in my head as if I'm watching a movie. The banter between our favorite angels and demons continues and it's hilarious.
Of course, the spice hits even harder in this one (pun intended) hope yall are ready to see a whole new side of our Angel.

The last few chapters though 😳😲😰😭😱 so much more happens in the last few chapters it was insane. I'm starting to spiral now trying to think of what more secrets are yet to be revealed. What's gonna happen next with our favorite angels and demons. Ugh I'm dying for book 3 now, but I know the wait will be all worth it as this book was worth the wait.

"Heroes are allowed to be broken; it doesn't make them any less of a hero."

Legendary is book two in the Living Legend Series and we pick up right where we left off in book one and let's just say things are still a bit rocky. Nick and Dani are slightly on the outs and we're left wondering where things go from here and how Lilith will attack next.

I have to admit that I struggled to get into this, but near the halfway point I was finally pulled in. Between the spice (I'm talking serious heat), secrets revealed, and at least one new character I cannot wait to learn more about I was once again immersed in this world. However, by the end of the book I was also once again left with so many questions.

I will absolutely be continuing on as I have to know what comes next, but I do hope that book three is able to draw me in a bit quicker.

Може би ако имаше малко повече динамика и действие, отколкото "мотаене" из Чистилището, щеше да е прекрасно. Като цяло приятни герои, интересна история, без да е твърдне много ангажиращо

What I enjoy most about this author is that I somehow did not realize how much story and lore building there was....until there was ✨🔥✨. Once again, Allie has blown my mind with the character development and lore building that left me on the edge of my seat until the very end. 4.5 out of 5. The .5 is because I'm salty (and she knows this) but it really isn't a minus .5. Now I must sit and stew and marinate and potate until book three.

Rating: 4.5✨
Spice: 3.25🌶

I was lucky enough to be a beta reader for this book & as always, this review is voluntary & honest.

Wow, I am beyond late with this review, but let me start off with saying that I truly enjoyed this read, 100%! We start off our journey right where we left off in book one, Living Legend, and I LOVED that the pace of this book & series stayed consistent and did not feel slow at any point. I'm not even exaggerating when I say I was on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.

I have to say that my favorite part of this read had to be the emotional development overall, from characters' own emotional development to the emotions caused by the unfolding events, Allie does an incredible job having the readers feel IT ALL. The relationships that had blossomed between characters had me going from feral screeches to letting out the loudest of AWWs. Also, the spice was spicing in this one. To the point where I have no doubt, I was levitating with the book on one hand and screaming non-stop.

Dani continues to be the badass living legend that she is. Of course, we also get to see another part of her that we end up loving as well, a Dani behind the flirty, witty & smug demon we know. She is more emotionally vulnerable in this book & goes through it alongside Nick in the deepest of ways. My love for her grew tremendously, and I adored her SO MUCH already, but there is something special about seeing an unguarded part of characters you adore that make you feel like closer to them in a way? Her journey & growth in this one was incredible & I am excited to see her continue to evolve.

Nick, my baby needs all of the hugs in the world & just needs to be comforted non-stop. There were so many things that Nick had been holding in, more than is healthy for one to suppress, but his emotional growth as he navigated those emotions was ABSOLUTELY beautiful. And the support system he has with Dani & Reese just tugs at your heart strings. With the emotional part aside though, this MAN & THE THINGS HE SAYS WILL HAVE YOU SHAKING & SWEATING. This man may be an angel, but oh MY LAWD, he is sinful in the best of ways. There is no way you can read this series & not already be in love with this man. He is just ✨ chef's kiss ✨.

Reese & Elise continue to be such an iconic duo, even though they are at each other's throats 24/7 with their constant banter. And every single interaction between them leaves you with the biggest smile on your face or laughing non-stop. I'm not even exaggerating when I say them to together are absolutely addicting & I would read a whole book of their interactions alone if I could. We also get new characters that are introduced that you will fall in love with IMMEDIATELY, at first sight I TELL YOU ☝🏻, such as Beetee & Axel & so many others!!

One of the things you need to know about this series is that if you think you know where things are heading, or think you know what is going on, no you don't. Allie keeps you guessing & throws all these twists & turns that you never saw coming. This journey our characters go through in Purgatory is one that will keep you entertained all throughout & will have you wanting book 3 as soon as possible, just as I am right now! You definitely need to give this one a read, it truly is Legendary. ♥️

To anyone lost in the dark, find your light ... it's probably been searching for you too!

KLAPPENTEXT:

MEINUNG:

We find our angels and demons grappling with the aftermath of the events from the first book. The stakes are higher than ever as the gang plots against Lilith while the dark queen awaits Dani to rejoin the fold. With darkness looming and threatening to take hold, the fate of the realms is at stake. Will they be able to find a balance between the darkness and the light?

Tropes/themes:
🪽 Dual POV
🪽 Shadow Mommy demon FMC
🪽 Tortured hero angel MMC
🪽 Red hot tension
🪽 Banter galore
🪽 Found family

Nick finds himself flooded with guilt and grief. Dani tries to understand the different parts of her and her own emotions. They both try to navigate their complicated feelings for each other. We are reunited with our favorite side characters (especially Nick’s Dad 😉) and meet some intriguing new characters while exploring more of Purgatory.

Allie doesn’t hold back in this followup installment. I was reeling at various parts while laughing out loud at others. Some much happens in this book 🤯🤯🤯 . There’s plenty of priceless banter, intense pining and groveling and some fun spicy 🌶️ time.

Suspenseful and sexy, Legendary takes the reader on an absolutely fun and wicked ride. The next installment cannot come soon enough!

Huge thanks the Allie Shante for the opportunity to read this ARC! I am leaving my honest and voluntary review.

“𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲, 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿, 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼𝗼.”

Legendary picks up right where Living Legend ends. I struggled a bit getting into this...I don't know if it was my mood reading hitting me, or the length of the book intimidating me, but it did take me a bit longer than normal.

If you recall from book 1 Dani and Nick are on some rocky ground and the slow burn continues in book two between them as they sort things out. it takes around the 1st half of the book for them to work through their feelings.

I think what was really holding me back personally was the Fact that I love Reese and was all FULL STEAM AHEAD!!!! when it came to the parts with Reese, I was devouring the funny banter that him and Elise continued to build and their unlikely friendship. I wanted to rush through Dani and Nicks stuff my brain said " Move aside mom and dad go fight over there while Reese and Elise and the new inn keeper tell me more about themselves"

I did really love how Nick struggled with PTSD and how it was consistently shown and I loved it even more when he finally found the courage to open up about it.

The second half of the book was action, and secrets being revealed, and I have to say I am extremely excited to see how things play out in the next book because I need to know more about Beetee.

First things first, I am an unbiased arc reader for this book. That being said... let's get into it!!
I loved Living Legend and couldn't wait to dive right back in to the story with Legendary!
I won't spoil the book, but please know that you're in for a WILD ride! We get more Nick, and you are gonna love the side of him we get to see come out to play in this book! Dani remains the greatest FMC of all time followed closely by everyone's favorite cactus- Elise! She remains prickly and absolutely hilarious, which I am living for. Reese makes his presence known with his irreverent wit and sarcasm. All in all, an excellent story that is as engaging as it is spicy! Enjoy!!

Angels, Demons and Chaos, oh my.

Ms. Shante, I truly don’t know how but you’ve done it again. I picked up living legend on a whim during a random SYKD and it has been one of the best decisions. Being immersed in the story of Dani and Nick. Getting to watch all of them grow and evolve but also get a really good story out of it. A story that doesn’t feel rushed but also keeps you on the edge of your seat. The ending… wow. How much longer do we have to wait for book three??

Elise remains one of my favorites. 😂 She is constantly keeping them on their toes.

I can’t wait for book 3. Unbiased arc review.

Legendary by Allie Shante is book 2 in the Living Legend series. It's a fantasy with angels & demons. If you haven't read book one, definitely read that one first!

I will keep it spoiler free, but this one starts off immediately after the first book. Our fmc is on a mission of discovery, and she is dragging along her group of misfits!

Legendary takes you through a journey through our fmc's "home." We get to see a different side of this world. There's banter between some of my favorites, action, and of course, lots of spice! This one was very emotional, and I loved getting to see the mental health process some of the characters went through. And that ending!? So rude!

Allie Shante has done it again. Broken my heart and put it back together!!! Continuing after the events of Living Legend, Dani and Nick (along with Reese and Elise) head to Purgatory to try and take down Lilith after the mess she made at Heaven's Gate.

I love how we got to really did into Dani and Nick's relationship and how they are doing mentally after so much upheaval. Plus their chemistry is still hot hot hot.

There is lots of combat in this which can be difficult for me to follow sometimes but it stays interesting and there are actual consequences for actions!

We also get some great new characters and creatures (hello Hellhounds!!!) while learning more about Purgatory. Wish we got more Daddy Cassial because Maurice is my favorite.

From where it left off I'm excited for book 3 and only slightly concerned for everyone's wellbeing.

4/5 stars because I think there are some pacing issues where we spend a lot of time making "the plan" and then rush through it and the climax at the end. I think the tropes of book one kept me a bit more engaged while this one just builds off of the existing relationships and discovering the truth surrounding the many mysteries.

I received an advanced copy of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review.

First, I'd like to thank Allie for the privilege of being chosen to receive an eARC of Legendary and this is my honest review. I will start with what I enjoyed the most and that would have to be the main character, Dani. I think she is an absolute bada** and her confidence is inspiring. And I love how her and Nick's relationship has progressed in this book.....the spice is extra spicy, while also having breakthroughs on the emotional side of things. You don't have to wait too long for them to make up, but it's enough to keep Nick on his toes. As for Reese and Elise I really appreciated their character development in this book and was glad that the banter between them didn't seem quite as hostile as it was in the first book (kind of hope that something happens there eventually). The new characters in this book were amazing, especially the plot twist of Beetee, and Elise's hellhound (kind of wish I had one).

There were a few things I wasn't too fond of and that included the setting feeling stagnant and I felt the same in the first book. Too many things happen in one place. I was hoping for more of an adventure in Purgatory. Also, Nick is expected to show his feelings completely and not hide them, but Dani does the same thing as him (using spice to avoid her feelings). Guess she kind of pays for that though...

Overall, I highly recommended reading Living Legend and then Legendary when it releases on March 4th! I am really looking forward to book three and am dying to know what Maurice has to tell Nick and where the relationship with Nick and Dani is heading!

4.5⭐

Okay so this review is WAAAAAY overdue but I let myself get distracted by so many other things and completely forgot to write one up.. oops😅

I won't lie, this book definitely took me longer to read HOWEVERRRRR when I first read Living Legend I neither had a job nor was I in school (took a year off to just figure life out, you know the drill). I will say there were a lot of different feelings that I felt during this book.

⚠️⚠️SPOILER FOR BOOK 1 AND 2!!⚠️⚠️

There are two scenes that will have you balling your fcking eyes out, ESPECIALLY if you can relate in any way which at first, I couldn't 100% but now in a way I can. In the first book Nick watched Jonah die in his arms no less. I had personally never seen someone die until recently so now that image is forever stuck in my head. When I reread this series it will definitely have a different effect on me. But either way, that eats at Nick all throughout the book and a lot of other things that happened previous in LL1. The second scene where I DEFINITELY balled my eyes out, kind of predictable and honestly saw it coming but MAN did Miss Ma'am know how to write a scene😭😭 I only cried during the second one because my mom kind of interrupted my reading during the first one🥲

⚠️⚠️End of Spoiler for now⚠️⚠️

There were a lot of things about this book that I loved.. here a small list of those things💖

1. Maurice😍 We love him and anyone who feels differently can kindly get off this review thank you😌💅🏼
2. Elise and Reese's constant bickering!! Please they are my life and I love them. And the small POV we get from Reese.. yes yes YES😂 "The little psycho"🥰🦋
3. The spice was SPICINGGGGG🌶🌶🌶 I honestly didn't think we'd get too much individual spice scenes during this book given all the shit going down but lemme just that once Nick got on his knees >>>>> it was a frequent occurrence🙈
4. Literally ALL of the new characters that we met (that were on Dani's side ofc). They just added a whole new element to the book and it was nice to meet so many new characters with such different perspectives. Shout out to queen Beetee, we love her most and if Reese wasn't in the picture I'd be shipping her with Elise😌💯
5. Axel!!!💖💖💖💖 I won't lie he's probably my new favorite character of all and once you meet him you'll understand, especially with his relationship with our "little pyscho"🥲
6. That one specific interaction between Reese and Dani😌 He said some things that I was glad he said because I personally don't think Dani would have realized the extent to what Nick would be willing to do for her and she needed to hear it😌

Now obviously there are some quotes that had me ROLLING and FOLDING😩💘 Here are just a few of my examples🙈

⚠️⚠️WARNING!!!! SOME OF THESE CAN BE SEEN AS SPOILERS!!!!⚠️⚠️

“Oh fuck, pretty boy has claws.” - (this whole scene💅🏼)

“You’re here because you trust me, so just trust that when it comes down to it that I will fight with you until my last dying breath. But also trust me when I tell you to watch your fucking mouth when you talk about her.” - (and the claws come out again🙈💖)

“Everything sounds so much better when you’re on your knees.” - (and boy did it👀🦋)

"I should have just told you what the truth really was and that’s that you’re fucking perfect." - (insert Nick and Dani:👸🏾🧎🏻‍♂️)

“I suggest you get your face between my legs if you need to taste me so badly, Nicholas.” - (Dani being Dani and we love itttt)

“That’s my girl.” - (Do we need an explanation for this??? No I don't think we do🤩💖🦋)

“I don’t expect you to do anything, Dani. I know you’ll beg.” - (It's a king moment and we're here for it😌💅🏼)

“I would love to be sweet with you this time, Dani, but you’ve made it clear that you want to be a fucking brat so when I say use your mouth, I mean use your pretty mouth and suck my cock.” - (I mean.. okay🙈🦋🤣)

“It’s okay, baby." - (When she calls him baby >>>>>)

“No, Dani, no. You won’t let me say it, so I’ll say this. I want you. Every second of every minute, of every hour, of every single day. I want it all. Your darkness, your light, and everything in between. Whatever a life after Lilith looks like, I want that with you.” - (This whole scene had me feeling SO MUCH omg😭😭😭😭)

“It’s all yours,” he said against my lips. “What is?” I could feel the orgasm building and my stomach clenching as I let every single thing he’d said wash over me. “My heart.” - (insert my impending breaking heart so sure shit was gonna take a turn for the worse💔💔💔💔💔)

"You’re all the light I needed.” - (I mean COME ON😭💖)

"I didn’t care about being realistic; I just wanted her." - (We love a man who knows what he wants💯💯💯)

"I was an action kind of girl and Nicholas coming here with me, fighting next to me, made my stomach flip but what I really wanted was for him to tell me I was enough. That I was accepted and that his prior words were stupid, and he took them all back. I wanted him to tell me that I could be whatever kind of hybrid, halfling, whatever the fuck and he would still see me just the same. A simple I’m sorry was way too broad. I wanted him to tell me those words. If that meant I had to bring him to his knees for him to say it, so be it." - (And what did she do? She did just that😌💅🏼)

“Jealousy gives off a certain insecurity of not fully knowing if you have something.” She moved to the music, never breaking eye contact. “I know I have you, Nicholas. Make no mistake.” - (I mean I HAD to throw this one in here as well🙈🙈 We love a confident queen🦋💖)

⚠️⚠️End of spoilers⚠️⚠️

These quotes were just a HANDFUL of this book and what's inside of it. I cannot express all the emotions that came with these scenes but these were definitely some of my favorites🥰🥰🥰

Now that all of my love for this book is out in the open.. here are some of the things I didn't particularly favor😕

⚠️⚠️There are DEFINITELY spoilers below!!! Not major spoilers but still SPOILERS⚠️⚠️

1. Dani and Dimitri. Anyone who's read this knows what I'm talking about. Or at least I think they do.. Long story short, Dani did something wrong in order to get information from Dimitri and when Nick expressed his feelings about SEEING her do what she did, she brushed it off like it was nothing. In fact she was very unapologetic about it and expected Nick to just fold and get over it (which he did). Regardless of the that "nothing happened" and that she's a demon and that's "how she does things" is no excuse. Her whole response to Nick telling her his feelings and that what she did hurt him just rubbed me the wrong way. I get that what happened before Nick was the past but to me, how she handled it was unacceptable and I wish that Nick had higher standards for himself than just accepting that going and sitting on another man's lap in an intimate looking way (doesn't matter if it was "innocent" or not) is something that he needs to get used to as a way of her obtaining knowledge. So the thing that I liked about Reese and Dani's interaction, this was their main discussion. Reese threw it right back in her face. But she still didn't seem to get it (at least from what I remember). So yeah, that has me feeling a certain way about her but I do still love Dani and hopefully we don't get anymore of this from her in the future because I really do love Nick and Dani together. It'd be a shame to see Dani throw away someone as loyal as Nick just because she can't seem to understand it herself.

2. The pacing of the book. Obviously when they all went to Purgatory to defeat Lilith, there was an obvious mission at hand. A plan? No not really. They had like 2ish months if I recall correctly to figure one out but the whole issue between Dani and Nick in the beginning kind of delayed that. But once they got to Purgatory, most of the book was spent on (not completely) useless scenes as a way to drag on the time until Nick FINALLY got on his knees and apologized to Dani. And then even MORE time was spent in the Inn with Beetee to formulate some type of plan but ofc that plan ends up going to shit when Dani decides to just do it all herself instead (which is understandable given what Lilith made her see in her dream). I feel like a lot of the scenes could have been condensed or combined in a way that didn't drag out the whole story because it was hard to tell just how long they'd spent there coming up with a plan.

⚠️⚠️End of spoilers⚠️⚠️

So yeah.. lots of emotions in this book🤣😅 Those two reasons above are mainly the reason my official rating it 4.5 stars however I did thoroughly enjoy the book and that's why it was bumped to 5 stars and not dropped to 4. This book is definitely something that is worth checking out! The world in this book is like a drug to me. I never want it to end! These characters are everything and everyone deserves to meet them and fall in love with them just like I have💖💖

I absolutely loved this book! Have some tissues ready cuz it gets tough! 😭the new characters are awesome I absolutely loved Beetee and Axel! I loved the vibes of purgatory and wish I could find a club like leviathan 🤭 I went through a roller coaster of emotions during this read and I wouldn’t have expected anything less! The group all face some tough challenges during their time in purgatory and the action is top tier! Allie had me wanting to pull out my hair a few times during fights 😭😂 she also had me dying of laughter with a scene with Nick and Reese! Has to be one of my many favorite scenes that happen in Legendary! I was no prepared for our angel to be so dirty mouthed 😮‍💨 had me giggling and kicking my legs like that’s my boy you tell her 🥳😂. Allie did amazing on Legendary and I can’t wait to have book 3! Thank you for giving me the opportunity to ARC read for you 🥺🫶🏽

I really really wanted to like this but it just DRAGGED. Nick and Dani finally figure their stuff out at 40% through and then after that every other scene is a sex scene 🙄 I’m all for some good smut but there’s a point where it just takes away from the story. They’re on a mission? Oh they’re just gonna have sex halfway through. They got hurt? Ope, have sex while recovering.

It’s like they can’t be in a room together without something sexual happening. I had to DNF at 73% because the story was going no where.

This was one of the best ARCS I have ever received! Allie you are an amazing author truly.
5 fucking stars
First off the spice in this book was insaneeeeee. Book 1 was spicy but this book was otherworldly. Both of the club scenes? My goodness.
Secondly, I think this book was so god damn emotionally intense. This is not just a spicy fantasy romance. This was a book full of grief and pain and trauma.

Both of our characters, Dani and Nick have a ton of processing and growth to do following a traumatic battle/peoples deaths.

Dani has been lied to by her "best friend" and was ghosted for months by the guy she fought with in the battle and kinda likes. Dani struggles to see herself as anything other than a monster, which leads heavily into her desire to have people (Nick) prove he sees her as worthy and that she is not some monster Lilith has made her out to be. But that armor she holds keeps people like Nick from getting too close.

Now Nick, I did not expect to bond with him as a character but my god this man is going through everything I am. I am also in a period of mental health issues, like grief and ptsd, trauma and panic attacks. Nick throughout the book leans into the trauma and brings himself to these periods of self-doubt. He believes he is not good enough, that he is a failure and that this is all his fault. Wow that hit me hard because same.

Now while Dani and Nick are traditional opposites in this book, they are the same person. Two people begging to be seen, to be loved for who they are and to be saved. Chapter 23 has been burned deep into my cranium. Nick is struggling with believing he is enough and Dani pulls this line that hits me so hard I cried for 30 minutes.
"You are always enough, Nicholas Cassial. Broken and in pieces, you are enough. Heros are allowed to be broken; it doesn't make them any less of a hero."
I damn near called my therapist right then and there lol.

When I say I want the love like they have in romance books, this is what I mean. Not the billionaire. Not the guy who murders anyone who touches you. No, I want this. People who are willing to help you when you are broken, to build you up and support you. Someone who sees you.

Book 2 ends in the wildest cliffhanger and I will sell a kidney to get book 3 in my hands asap.

🔥𝗟𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲🔥

I had the wonderful honor of being part of the eARC group for Allie’s upcoming release, Legendary, the second installment of her Living Legend Series. I adored Living Legend and Legendary definitely did not disappoint.

Legendary kicks off right after the events of Living Legend, and it never pulls back on the throttle. Our favorite quartet of Angels and Demons are thrusted into Purgatory, where things are definitely not what they seem. We get to see a whole new world unfurl before our own eyes, with all new characters that have truly made a home in my heart. Axel and Beetee are names to remember on this one! They steal the show in every single way while adding a depth to our original characters that we wouldn’t get otherwise.

I love how Allie explored Nicholas’ struggles with PTSD from the aftermath of Living Legend and how his new reality plays into the plot of the book. We also get to see a new dynamic between the fantastic four, where unlikely friendships are forged and a lot of growth occurs.

“𝘏𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘰𝘸𝘦𝘥 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘣𝘳𝘰𝘬𝘦𝘯; 𝘪𝘵 𝘥𝘰𝘦𝘴𝘯’𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘺 𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘰.”

But this wouldn’t be an Allie Shante book without its fair share of spice! Nicholas and Dani are on the outs at the end of Living Legend but they do make up for lost time in their own way, and no reader will be left lacking in the spice department! Nicholas does plenty of groveling on his knees, quite literally. That particular scene has been highlighted for future use; thank you Allie, for the pointers. 😉

“𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘴𝘰 𝘮𝘶𝘤𝘩 𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘬𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘴.”

Although the book ends on a massive cliffhanger that had me almost flinging my kindle across the room, I will say that this was an absolutely brilliant read! Allie has truly outdone herself this time around and I cannot wait for others to experience the roller coaster ride of emotions this book takes you through. I was ugly crying at one point, but hey, it’s totally worth it! 5⭐️ all around!

If you are someone who loves character growth and development in your books, you might go bonkers for this one! I love these characters so much and I love reading a fantasy that is fresh or has a new take that I haven't really seen before and I feel like Allie Shante delivers on that. For me, this was a slower read only because I am more of a plot driven girl or a balance between plot and character and this felt much more character driven. I think that is important and I think this does a great job at setting up the next book. There are some things that felt a little repetitive (Reese's and Elise antagonism) but overall this was a nice addition to the series. It was more emotionally driven as opposed to action driven, but there is action in it. It's tough to rate because I enjoyed the second half more than the first so maybe 3.5 stars overall? I definitely liked it.

The second half of the book made me sit up and read faster while the first half I was not as into. I think the character development is pivotal and necessary for these characters and I'm glad time was devoted for it. I think I just felt a little in the dark as to what the plan was to fight Lillith. I wanted a little more battle plan when it felt very impulsive and not thought out which actually does kind of track with the characters (which is a positive in making it feel authentic). I loved the new characters, Betee was lovely and complex and the hellhound is the goodest boy ever. I think Shante even did fantastic at developing the characters she introduced in book 1, specifically for me, Elise had some layers introduced that were surprising and welcome. There are twists that I didn't expect and the representation of trauma, healing, and anxiety was great.

Allie Shante! You have OUTDONE yourself with this book! I enjoyed book 1, but book 2 was AMAZING!

In this book, the MCs, Dani and Nick, and their band of misfits, will be heading to Purgatory to deal with Lilith, who wants to take over The Skies, but also can't leave where she's been locked up. She failed plan A, so they have to figure out her plan B and stop her.

Dani and Nick ended Living Legend (book 1) on not so great terms, and this book begins with them still not speaking and with Nick burying a lot of the trauma he went through. He hides his pain and self loating from his best friend and father and acts as though he is fine as they have more important things to handle. But, the fact that he ignores his pain will come back to haunt him.

Dani is still a Badass chick who cares for Nick but won't budge until he apologizes. She flirts a bit and he is continuously mesmerized by even her breathing!

Everyone stays at a hostel and they continuously fight with demons, hellhounds, and mind tricks as Lilith wants Dani to come home. Dani knows it's all a ploy and that whatever the reason, it can't be good and will be a part of her big plan to take over.

Dani and Nick are *Chef's Kiss! I LOVE them together! It's so interesting to see a cinnamon roll MMC with a powerful badass FMC. I enjoy seeing their relationship grow. In book 1, they were fighting their feelings for each other, whereas now, they are accepting it and seeing how they can work.

If you enjoy battles, banter, good vs evil, power fighting, and some juicy spice🥵, you should definitely read this book! I can't WAIT for book 3!

Dani, Nick and the whole gang are back for round two but are they actually ready? I mean that's really the question we want a answered right.
Well I can't tell you what the answer is, what I can tell you is book two is going to provide you with allot of information, I mean a lot!
Was it all imperative to the story not exactly but at times it lightened things or just gives the reader a chance to take a breather. Which with a 600 page book I gotta say I really didn't mind. There was still plenty of action and of course our favorite anti-friendship between Reese and Ellie (that's right someone gave her a nickname). We also make new friends Beetee and Axel, Axel is the coolest, and of course new enemies.
I can't spoil the end for you because we still aren't there yet. That's right time to prepare for book three. Let's all hope Nicholas is half as ready as we are to continue on with this journey.

✨Legendary✨

Book TWO in the Living Legend trilogy and we get to dive into new territory and acquire a delightful and devious found family.

In Legendary, we begin right where we left off as our foursome travels to Purgatory to figure out Lilith’s plan for Dani. After the tragedy at Heaven’s Gate, though, our two MCs are doing their best just to make it through without nightmares, compulsions, and accidental murders. Dani and Nick’s mission within Purgatory takes them to dark places, unlikely allis, and a ton of plot twists!

We get new world building here in book two, along with character depth and growth- particularly from our grumpy duo side kicks- and deeper magic/skill knowledge. The way Allie creates this world is unique and sassy and, while dark, has a sense of hope I found really precious: people making mistakes, learning from mistakes, and seeking retribution. Nick and Dani work around their relationship, learning how to accept and support one another despite differences, poor coping mechanisms, and brokenness. It was beautiful!

Tropes you may find in Legendary are dysfunctional found family, angels x demons x enchanters, high spice, paranormal fantasy with urban feels, dark and light powers, forced proximity, lots of morally grey characters, comfort and wound tending, banter, hidden identities, and high stakes.

Legendary is out now and on KU! Now, I go to immediately dive into book three! See ya there!
