There isn't really a word to describe the noise a volcano makes when it erupts. You don't just hear it, you feel it.
Booooooooooooom!
A class trip to Borneo starts off with a bang – a visit to a real-life volcano! But when Mount Bako erupts, Sam Fox is left stranded with his teacher, Mr Griffin, who's suffering from a heart attack. They make it down the mountain to the cool blue sea – only to be hemmed in by blood-thirsty sharks . . .
An action-packed adventure, Monkey Mountain is the hottest Extreme Adventure yet!
One of twelve children, Justin grew up on a farm in Otaki, New Zealand. He wrote his first book, a ten page cartoon about his pet turtle, Bubble, when he was nine years old. His next cartoon was about Moriarty, his guinea pig, and filled a complete exercise book. When he was eleven, Justin began writing his first novel, but conked out after 35 pages.
Justin D’Ath is the author of over 30 books for children and young adults, including the hugely popular Extreme Adventures series. Other books include Astrid Spark, Fixologist, The Skyflower, Robbie and the Dolphins, Infamous, and Why did the Chykkan cross the Galaxy?
The fifth of the twelve extreme adventures about Sam Fox that I have read, and as the saying goes if you have read one you have read them all. There are more explosions, and action packed sequences, all told in a fast paced manner. Not terrible, but as said, the books blend together and if you were asked which action sequence belonged to which book, it would be a struggle to differentiate.
This book was unlike any other because in this one Sam had to save someone older than him while escaping from an erupting volcano along with other animals who have boarded his boat
Another fantastic edition to the 'Extreme Adventure' series! Sam Fox's class trip to Borneo involves an immediate blast as the story begins - a real-life volcano erupts, and Sam and his teacher Mr. Griffin, are stranded. As usual, the action-packed survival adventure includes one nasty problem after another - but all is well in the end. I loved the fast-past, thrilling ride and the laugh-out-loud moments. Each book in the series is terrific, and this is one of the best yet!
