The Wolf of Corwick Castle #8

The Wolf At The Door

Rate this book
The action and adventure continue in the eighth installment of the bestselling Wolf of Corwick Castle series!

Fresh from his triumph in the South, Lord Hadrack returns to Ganderland with his Temba armada to find the army he’d left behind has pushed the invading Parnuthians back to one last stronghold on the eastern coast—Taskerbery Castle. But the sprawling fortress has plenty of defenders and supplies, and its walls are thick, leaving Hadrack with a dilemma—lay siege and deal with the Parnuthians once and for all, or sail north to protect Gandertown from a possible Cardian horde said to be almost thirty thousand strong.

But little does Hadrack know that there is more afoot than even he can guess, for deceit and betrayal lie behind every door, with evidence mounting that all his enemies have united together behind an evil that he’d believed banished—an evil bent on Ganderland’s destruction and the rise of a new order.

With time running out, Hadrack and his friends must wade through a mountain of lies to get to the truth—but sometimes, the truth can be far worse than anyone can imagine.

Excellent novel, as usual!

I'm sure by now that every good thing that could be said about the WOLF OF CORWICK CASTLE series, has already been said. But I will say that this is the first series that I can think of, since the Malazan Books of the Fallen, with more than 5 novels that have read that didn't have at least one that was slow to capture my attention and interest. Each of these is as exciting and attention grabbing as the first and All are a joy to read!

Epic fantasy

What can I say, this book could be a piece of trash ( its not), and I'd still give it five stars. Funny what clicks with readers and what doesn't. I have been invested with this story since the first Paragraph of the first page of the first book. The characters, the plot just keeps me on the edge of my seat while I keep clicking through the pages. If the book was, perhaps, a few hundred pages longer, I'd be even happier.

Fantastic Series!

If you love warriors, strategic battle plans, high sea adventures, you will love this series. A child who survives terrible tragedies, gathering warriors that will become family throughout his life, wrecking havoc on his enemies using the sheer genius the Wolf possesses! Loved it and wondering if more is to come?!

I can now do a bit more work

I have read the 8 books in this series and have lost a lot of sleep. The books lead you on to the next chapter and you think I will just read one more and it’s 1 o’clock in the morning . I know I now will have more sleep until the wolf arrives in print. Terry in writing a fantasy story leads you being able imagine what it was like in the Middle Ages. But we still have not finished with war.

Love this tale

It is definitely a page turner. I like that the female characters are strong and the men for the most part are decent. The battles are well written, you can see, hear and smell the engagement on the field. Looking forward to the next story..

Excellent Series Continues

Just when I think that the series has run its course, the next volume brings renewed energy and intrigue. As usual there is action aplenty, and the cast of characters are back in full form keeping the pages turning!

easy and enjoyable reading

My only criticism would be the misuse of the word consummation that should have been “conceived “ but an addictive read all the same.
