Alright, this is a long one...

(Disclaimer: I was given an ARC for this book)

This book is SO GOOD!
The book continues Matt's journey through this amazing world Andrew made that puts a unique twist on mythology. I was blown away with how far this book has taken the series. Each time I open this book up, I struggle to put it down. Every single thing about this book expands on the previous one and goes beyond what I thought was possible. At every twist and turn I found myself clueless on what could possibly end up happening I am usually really good at guessing what happens.

Now lets get into the characters.
Dawn is one of the characters that was introduced in the last book that I could tell had so much potential. That potential was not wasted in the slightest. She is so mysterious and so menacing. She is such a well written character.
I am really glad Alex played a bigger role in this one than he did in the last one. In this one he is dealing with the feeling of not being worthy of being a part of the hunt because he is too weak. So he uses a mask that he stole to try to be more powerful. This is a perfect way to give a character like Alex more depth. I love seeing Alex grow because he is the one that I feel is the closest to me. I really hope this will continue in the next one.
Connor and Violet were missing from the last book, and I was really glad to see them return, especially now that Matt is betrothed to Ash. There was not that much of them though, and I personally really like the idea of hiding his new life from his old friends constantly as they go through their journey, so hopefully we see them more in the next book.
Nika was also a welcome addition. I like her character. I have a feeling she's going to be very important in the next book. I hope we see more of her!
Orion is one of the characters I didn't think would have that much development because on the outside, he seems like he's a character who just doesn't change, but showing that he can and does have character development was an amazing feeling.
All of the characters in the book were fantastic and I'm so glad that the ones who weren't given that much time to develop in the last 2 books were given that, and then some in this book.

The world has continued to expand and I am here for it! I adored learning about this amazing fictional world Andrew has created. The backstory of Orion and the Fae, all the constellations, the Dragon Dons! Such a great experience.

The Story itself is a masterpiece! Although Dandelion Audit is my favourite so far, this one is just barely under it. I loved all of the side stories that went alongside the main plot, the time manipulation, the Mav murder plot, the confrontations with the police. It is ALL SO GOOD!
Don't even get me started on the ending...
I was so shocked! How could you make us wait a whole year on THAT cliffhanger!!! Hopefully we can have some extra Debt Collection content in the meantime!

If you read this Andrew, Outstanding job! (also, any information you can give us about Death Tax? :D )

EDIT: Thank you so much for reading my first review, your books truly are the best I've read and I can't wait for more! Also quick question, any plans on turning this series into a movie or TV show???

I was given an ARC of STAR SUMMIT in exchange for my honest, spoiler-free review.

Another fantastic installment in what is truly solidifying itself into a rich, complex series. Thus far STAR SUMMIT is my favorite of the DEBT COLLECTION series. It is not only re-readable (I’m eyeing it again already, as I wait for DEATH TAX to be released), but this book also stands out brilliantly in the Urban Fantasy genre.

The author has clearly become comfortable with the narrative style of the series, and I would consider the technical aspect of the writing to be on-par with DANDELION AUDIT, if not slightly improved; the use of sensory imagery felt particularly tactful and poetic in this book. The foundational work that was done in SOUL FRAUD and DANDELION AUDIT to build the universe and larger relationship dynamics is paying off well. STAR SUMMIT felt natural, comfortable, and playful in many areas, with more room to mature and develop interpersonal relationships with subtle conversations, rather than exposition.

But that comfortable/playful tone on an interpersonal level with many of the characters does not undermine the weight of risk that pervades STAR SUMMIT. Many of the fears that Matthew has make their way into reality in this book, with a feeling of helplessness that hits you in the face at many points. There is imminent danger in many forms, and the book does well to show that there is no plot armor, no safety net for even the most beloved characters. The plot is a rush of chaos, conflicting loyalties, and some action on an epic scale. There is building of quiet tension as well, an excellent balance to the head-on action that many books seem to miss.

STAR SUMMIT has, somehow, even more characters than DANDELION AUDIT. The author continues to do a brilliant job of making each complex, life-like, and with their own personality. For those worried, yes, there are many female characters of many different archetypes, and yes, they pass the Bechdel test with flying colors on a number of occasions.

STAR SUMMIT is a welcomed addition to my shelf, and I am so thrilled for where this series is going.

Best book of the series so far. Deals with loose ends in a way that I was initially concerned would lead to a superfluous 4th book but then the onslaught of twists and new developments happened. 4D chess is being played throughout this book and there wound up being far too many things to resolve by the end of the novel so a next novel needed to happen… if for nothing else other than my enjoyment. So excited for book 4 and the new series!

Third book in Mr Givler's fun urban fantasy series. Fun with Fae, and various constellations.

Matthew Carver manages to get wrapped up in some of Orion's trouble with his "superiors".

I received an ARC copy for this book, which is good, as I don’t think I could have managed to wait the extra few weeks for it to release and then get to me. From the little jokes, the “I probably don’t need therapy”, and the constant sarcasm, to the character and story building, it was damn near impossible to put down. I literally stopped halfway through another book I was already reading when I received the ARC. Nearing the end of this book, I kept seeing how the story is building and realising that I’m going to have to find someway to get through the next few months for the next book to come out. I started reaching a building point of action, and looked down and saw the 99% completed and panicked. Absolute 100/10 read

Hey Sigils, if you read this, it contains happiness, rage, joy, sadness, and literally almost every emotion under the sun. I'd love to have you read my review(s)!

Edit: I keep having to change my review cause more things get announced but I am NOT complaining.

(Warning: Slight spoilers throughout the review.)

I received an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review, but I never got to finish it. I got a physical copy of Star Summit for Christmas in 2023 and finished it then.

This series is freaking awesome. I've read some series where after I was done, the first book was always the best book. That is not the case with the Debt Collection series. Soul Fraud was amazing, Dandelion Audit was something else, and Star Summit was top-notch. As someone who owns a copy of Soul Fraud with the original cover, I've got a lot to say and a lot to hope for.

The character development is phenomenal. The main character, Matt, has changed so much from the start when he got chucked into this whole "soul fraud" business. I mean, look at him now. He's got supernatural friends, he's got magic of his own cause he's half Fae, and he's got his own Fae girlfriend. Also, the amount of depth and backstory we see from Orion and Alex is mind blowing.

(Speaking of Alex, I seem to have found a mix-up in Soul Fraud. On page 31 of the original paperback copy, his name is Alex Johnson. But on page 251 of the same copy, his last name is said to be Barnes. So what's his actual last name?)

The writing style is some of the best work I've ever seen. I'm autistic and sometimes the way books are written just makes it harder to read them. That's not the case for this entire series. Everything just makes sense. After re-reading the first three books (I could theorize from the start even), I'd like to believe that Matt has some form of neurodiversity. I'd like to think he's got ADHD, but hey, it's just a theory. The internal monologues as well as some of the phrases spoken just resonate with me and I've accidentally turned them into vocal stims. Knowing that Sigils has dyslexia (and I'd like to think minor ADHD which correct me if I'm wrong please), it's (un)surprisingly well written.

The plot is possibly the greatest thing in the world. It stays on point the entire time and all of the myth and fantasy stuff that's been thrown in has been wrapped into the plot so well. It's kept me invested, anxious for anything new from this world that could be thrown our way. The cliffhangers are torture, by the way. The ending of Dandelion Audit (I read the ARC), dude, HOW COULD YOU END IT LIKE THAT! I HAD TO WAIT FOR STAR SUMMIT TO SATISFY MY RAGE AND NEED FOR MORE!

The best/my favorite character(s)? I'd probably have to say the Fae. I like the way they're coordinated, their history, their looks, their parties. They're very fashionable and I do love a good outfit. Some of the characters from Hell, though, dang that's some good writing. Lilith and Zagan have to be my favorites. I come from an LDS family so demons are kind of a touchy subject, but my mom was pretty chill with it once I explained what was happening. I'd really like to cosplay Lilith as well, but I haven't figured that out yet. Hopefully I'll get it right if I do!

One thing I will say about this book in general is that I'm hoping to see more of the constellation Leo. I don't think Leo got enough page time, if any at all. As a Leo myself, I really want to see how the character would play out, if Leo's stereotypical traits came through or if a newer, more different personality got assigned.

I greatly look forward to the next book of the series, Death Tax. After hearing that there were going to be at least 6 books in the series, instead of 4 like I thought, I was very excited because I've enjoyed every second of the first three. I also know Andrew is writing a story set in the same world that's about some of Orion's adventures, so I'm already looking forward to that. After that life-threatening cliff-hanger that we were left on in Star Summit, I'm hoping that Death Tax will be a great book! Cheers to a great series Andrew! Been here since 2020, and I don't plan on leaving soon. Keep up the awesome work and I hope to be able to meet you someday!

WARNING DO NOT READ UNLESS YOU HAVE READ DANDELION AUDIT.

So I read this book through an A.R.C. but due to being sick I couldn’t review until now, so without further ado let’s get into it. I absolutely loved this book. It was very fluid and had a very clear plot, with a powerful plot twist that I was not expecting. Matt’s conversations with Ash are to die for because they are very nervous boy talking to his crush and she is just such a great character. There is interesting scenes with the Dandelion Court, especially with Mav, Dawn, and Damien. The introductions for the new characters were really good, we also see some characters that weren’t in Dandelion Audit make their return in Star Summit. The concept of this book was very cool and Matt has some very funny interactions and is overall became more perceptive and smart, as he realizes a lot of things on his own so Alex becomes less of a supernatural google though he still has to explain a lot of things. So one of my least favorite characters says one of my favorite lines I can’t say what it is but maybe you’ll spot it during your read!! Overall I give this book a 10/10, definitely read it.

Matt is your basic kind of nebbishy mediocre white dude main character, at first. When I found out it was a trilogy, I at first thought "Maybe this is one series I don't need to follow to the end." But Matt surprised me. He's pushed to become extraordinary over the course of four books when a demon forges his signature on a contract for his soul. He learns to initiate rather than just reacting or avoiding. He learns to take advice. He works to become skilled at something. He learns to see things from other people's perspectives, both in empathy and in anticipating their future actions. He takes responsibility for the consequences of his actions, and makes effort to minimize the damage they do. And of course as he overcomes challenge after challenge, the stakes rise. Apparently this one little contract is pretty darn important, and Hell would like to keep this whole thing quiet. His dad is a real piece of work, and his future father in law is diabolical.
I've heard rumors that Givler is taking a break on this project and working on another title. I hope this doesn't turn into another Furies of Calderon or Dark Tower, where I end up losing track of when new books are coming out.

I'm impressed with how some writers can take a silly sounding idea and make it work. For instance, the Dragon Dons here. They're bipedal and human sized meshes of dragon and man, apparently cursed in that form.

Honestly, the term 'Dragon Don' sounded silly from the get go, when they were described they sounded a little sillier. But they work. Givler limits them enough that Matthew, Alex and Orion can fight them but they're still recognizably a great threat and they're not just humans with scales, their dragon nature informs how they fight and how they interact with others. And that curse lends a certain ominousness to how much more they once were and someday might be again.

I often get bored of the pervasiveness of dragons in fantasy. They often seem like a crutch relying on name recognition. But Givler has a good balance of making his dragons truly unique but still keeping enough of the essence of dragons to warrant the name. I'm looking forward to what other unique spins on classic creatures Givler comes up with.

This book is a great sequel to the other two books. It is face paced but still detail so you don’t miss anything. Like Dandelion Audit there is tension building for the entire story, but not in the same way. Dandelion Audit has mystery that resulted in an all out brain when it was solved, Star Summit has anger and fear from every character-except Orion-and it is used to show had bad the impending danger is. Once the the final fight begins it is more of a fair fight than it has been for the last two books, because everyone in the story knew it was coming, but there was still a twist causing everyone to rush to the battle to stop something from happening before there are major consequences. The ending is exactly what you’d expect it to be but still with has some major twists that set up for the future. I can’t wait to do what happens in the next book, cause this book was great, and I have some theories that I know all the readers would want to see in Death Tax.

Consequences. This book is all about the consequences of everything that has happened so far and boy, does the book pack an almighty punch.

It is incredible how much the series has leveled up & how much more deeper the lore & the inventiveness goes. The growth that our MC undergoes, the changes due to him on his allies is incredible.

What the author does superbly well is to also deepen our understanding of this expanding world and stack up stakes & grudges that are carried over several millennia & a mortal lead who finds all of this rather tiring and petty.

There is an element of bittersweetness to the book especially the way it ends but even as leveled up our MC gets, his problems get even more levelled up. The book is smart enough to construct situations and solutions that dont need weapons and power to solve but smart thinking

I think I am in love with this series & this can ascend the rarefied heights of the bar that Dresden Files has set up

Gotta say... GREAT BOOK honestly my favorite so far. I did get an ARC so got to read it early.😎 I am only giving it a 4 because of a gripe I have with a single character. *SPOILERS AHEAD SO STOP NOW IF YOU DONT WANT THEM*
To begin, why did you make Saggitarius such an A-hole? On behalf of myself and all the other Saggitarius' ou there I must leave a review of 4. Also, Saggitarius is a centaur. You got Gemini with the 2 people right but how did you not make Sag a centaur? To be more specific about which centaur Saggitarius is often compared to Chiron, the trainer of Ancient Greek mythological heroes such as Jason, or Heracles, (Hercules is the roman form before you get mad at me) or Perseus. I know in the book its different but thats the only gripe I had. Thank you for the book and I can't wait for Death Tax... and hopefully I get another Arc for it.🤞Keep up the good work Andrew!

I’m really late on getting this review in, but I did receive an ARC of Star Summit. I’ve read it twice now, and it is my favorite of the Debt Collection thus far.

In Star Summit, the lens has widened yet again, and we learn more about the supernatural world to which Matthew Carver is still relatively new. The main event in this book is the Constellation Convention, called by Polaris himself. Matthew must carefully navigate his dual roles as a member of the Hunt and of the Faerie Court. There’s building tension, plot twists, and a final battle you don’t want to miss!

Author Andrew Givler has once again provided a rich fantasy story set in the modern world, layered characters with natural growth, and a deeply imaginative plot. I look forward to the next installment, Death Tax, and any additional future additions to the Debt Collection series.

I received an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of Star Sumit to read with a request to write an open and honest review of the book. Star Summit is the third installment of a Debt Collection Novel series which continues to be as captivating as the first two books. Matt Carver, along with his friends Orion and Alex and his betrothed Ash, continue their adventures in finding a way to retrieve his soul from the devil. They are all invited to the Constellation Congregation where new adventures begin.

Andrew Givler continues to deliver a strong, well written story that is fun to read. He shows excellent skill in developing his characters and continues the story in an entertaining way. I highly recommend the new book Star Sumit as well as the original two books Soul Fraud and Dandelion Audit.

Wow, I am speechless, the writing keeps getting better in every book, the characters development is out of this world dude, especially that Star Summit came out within a month of Dandelion Audit, Andrew is really an amazing author and I believe that his carrer in writing could surpass his career as a youtuber( Ur amazing man)

However, I have an advice regarding the cover design: Chris Mcgrath did an amazing job in designing the cover however I believe that it would be best if more characters were added to the display cover (like atleast Orion and Alex) and maybe a little hint on the main place the events that happen with Matt take place

Disclaimer: I recieved an ARC copy of the book in exchange for a review

Another amazing book from Andrew. The past two books in the Debt Collection immediately drew me in, making me not want to put them down, and Star Summit is no exception to that. The idea of using a Convention to hide the supernatural is great and fits perfectly for the world that Andrew has been developing. At least for me, a lot of the twists were less predictable in this book than the last two, but looking back, I can see the breadcrumbs hinting at them. Especially that cliffhanger ending! I can't even express my feelings in words because there are so many. I absolutely can't wait for Death Tax to come out and see where the story goes next (though I do have a guess it may have something to do with Grim Reapers).

Book three shows more of what Givler excelled at in books one and two: imaginative plot, good storytelling, and great characters.

The writing quality has improved over the last two books. SOUL FRAUD was a very good debut novel, but there were times I thought, "Yep, this is his first." Those occurrences were drastically decreased in DANDELION, and I barely noticed any this go around. How quickly he's shed those vestiges of amateurism while doubling down on his strong points is absolutely remarkable.

I read the first book to screen it for my kids. Now, however, Givler is on my list of authors to read simply because I enjoy his writing.

ARC Copy:
This was an amazing book to read, it easily combines thrill into action with a sprinkle of chaos and madness which bings the book together as a whole. I like how reading it is so captivation and interesting because it makes you fell like you are in the protagonists, Matt, shoes. It pulls you in all different directions and the main idea I felt was the pulling apart of the soul from the inside out. I rate this book a 5/5 of amazing description and in a whole completion.

Keep up the good work Andrew! I'm exited to see what's to come.

Honestly, a fun, yet dramatic and high stakes read, that still builds on existing aspects of the debt collection universe while adding and developing new ones into the ever-expanding world. Another great example of the Andrew Givler style.

The best way to describe it is as the cool teen eldest sibling of the debt collection. The other two were great, but this surpasses the bar, well and truly

Sure, getting it early meant I did have to write a review (bit late, wrapped up in mocks recently) but all of these are things that I do really believe in

I received a ARC of this book, and after reading it, I'm glad I didn't have to wait for this one. Of the three books in this series, this one is absolutely my favorite. It feels like it finally got into a good stride with the story pacing, and the balance with exposition felt much better. My biggest qualm with this book is that I have to wait for the next one. I think my favorite part of this book was the final meeting of the Constellation Convention, the whole scene put a grin on my face.

I received this book as an ARC in return for a review, and let me say I am scared for the Death Tax now, I wanted to keep this review spoiler free but I couldn't. I can't wait to figure out how Matt survives now that the North Star has disbanded the Hunt and that Orion can't kill just anyone because the hurt his squires, cause they ain't his squires anymore, atleast he still has Alex, Already preparing, and hoping for many more books in the series

Buckle up and get ready for yet another page turner. Andrew continues to crush descriptive writing. You actually feel like you are right next to Matt, Alex and Orion on yet another adventure. The way he describes the immortals makes it easy to imagine what they look like. The story line in was fantastic and super creative. I can only imagine what the next story will be!

Andrew’s writing as I’ve said before is only getting better. And I don’t see it slowing down either!

(Spoiler-free review of an ARC)

A fantastic addition to the series, seamlessly picking up where Dandelion Audit left off. The characters and dialogue continue to be masterfully written, with every interaction real and vivid. New characters are unique and interesting, and the ever-expanding universe gets richer with every chapter.
