The warriors prepare to face off against Alus, who has become Aureatia's greatest enemy. Following his defeat against Lucnoca, Alus has been transformed into a half-machine and begins the attack on Aureatia, with his eye on plunder! Only magical weapons have any hope of harming his new body. The city goes up in flames, bodies litter the ground, and a river of blood flows. All are strong, all are heroic, but only one can claim the mantle of True Hero
Volume 5 was truly exciting that I put an order for volumes 7 and 8 after reading it and decided to plunge into volume 6.... and I finished the book in one day. It's about 350-page thick, and the speed with which I read it was a testimony of its highly entertaining nature (and of my relaxed schedule). Alus is now a highly dangerous threat for Auretia, and Hidow takes the responsibility of ending all the calamity. As always, Ishura is full of breath-taking details of the battles, but it also displays tenderness and heart-touching moments of the characters. I love how this volume gives spotlight again on Harghent - thought as no more than a fool by many - and how Soujirou is now a far more agreeable character than at the beginning.
HOWEVER, I really, really wish Ishura's translator and editor would be more careful. This volume is still riddled with mistakes. Okay, I understand that there are times when a translator is tired or sleepy, times when they're bound to make mistakes here and there. But that's why we have editors, right? The editor should notice the mistakes the translator made and correct them, smoothing things out. Some of the mistakes I noticed in this volume: Kuze is referred as both 'The Passing Disaster' and 'The Passing Calamity' on one of the pages, and Sabfom is called 'The Twentieth General' on another when he's the Twelfth General. (The Twentieth Official position is occupied by Hidow, a minister.) Please, please, be more meticulous with the translation!
I love your FRIENSHIP. IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. SO WONDEFUL. SO TRAGIC. HE IS THE HERO BUT HE LOST HIS BEST FRIEND. HE GOT HE RECOGNITION BUT AT LAST HE COULD RECOGNIZE THE STAR OF HIS LIFE AND HE COULD RETURN THE FAVOR TO HIS GREATEST ALLY AND STAUNCHEST BRO.
It was worth it. 3 novels and this incredibly blah fight montage, it was so worth it for this last chapter. Alus the Star Runner and Harghent the Still, you stand alone.
