This was always just a bit of masturbation over Storm. Grab some tissues and clean yourself off.

This title featured a half-dozen characters, but rarely gave any time or consideration to development. Everything I know about Fisher could be summed up on one hand. He has two mutant daughters, but he himself has always been powerless. He's supposed to come across as wise, based on his lived experience as a powerless mutant on Arrako. ... That's about it. Similarly, I know little about his two daughters, other than what their powers are, and that their powers don't get much respect because they aren't conventional combat powers.

Sunspot and Nova hang out as generic attractive men with powers. Both have some degree of flight, strength, and energy blasts, and that's mostly all they do. There is the occasional dramatic scene where one or the other tries to sacrifice themself heroically. But, little attention is paid to even why they do such heroic gestures.

Then there is a small assortment of Arrako mutants whose names, powers, and what little bit of "characterization" I have been given I have already forgotten. The guy with hot liquid metal in his veins? Marvel acted like I was going to be excited to see him, but I don't know why. I have known other characters with similar powers, or at least equivalent powers. And because Arrako is just a planet full of gladiators, all with the same generic personality and aesthetics, there is nothing about him for me to relate to.

I'm tired of every issue featuring how amazing Storm is. I'm tired of Storm characterizing herself as "limitless." I'm tired of her complete and total lack of humility. I miss back when she was just a regular member of the X-Men, and she was scared to be confined in small spaces. I miss back when she might throw some impressive lightning and whirlwinds, but there was no talk of her being "omega." I miss a lot of things.

I won't miss this title.

The Mutant War to End All Wars

This is mutant war on a truly breathtaking scale, and the creative team handles it so very, very deftly. Every battle, every issue, every fallen loss, every victory… You feel it. You feel the stakes and you appreciate the journey. This is the battle for the soul of Arakko. And it is truly a story to behold. Fans of the Krakoan Age CANNOT miss this.

X-Men Red is Amazing!!!

Storm has gone through so much development in this book, and the addition of the Arraki just makes the world feel so much more vibrant. Thank you for this amazing read

Really? All the way to the end of the series & nothing else about the hiding Nathan Essex? Disappointed. Characterization in this series left a lot to be desired. This was essentially 'The Storm Show', & everyone else was just along for the ride.

Go Storm!!!

I’m glad Ororo mustered the strength to fight through it all. Hadari Yao did it again!!! I’m proud of her.

The epic conclusion to the Genesis War and a satisfying end to the X-Men Red series. Can’t wait till this is all collected. Highly recommend.
