This is another fascinating read from the "Hourly History" series. It is vivid, well documented and easy to read. Yet, I miss a chapter dedicated to Thatcher's economic policy (its success and failure). Otherwise it was an enjoyable read.

A Brief Overview of an Amazing Leader

Margaret Thatcher is one of the most important figures in Britain’s history. Prior to Thatcher , Great Britain was labeled “The Sick Man of Europe “ due to its economy as well as loss of prestige. The marginal tax rates were so high, it was difficult for affluent people to remain in Britain. Thatcher reduced tax rates significantly, eliminated inflation and restored Britain’s status in the world. Today London’s status as a financial center should be credited to Thatcher. There were downsides. For example, much of the coal industry disappeared. Many argue this would have happened regardless of which party was in control. Thatcher, like Goldwater and Reagan in the United States, offered voters a true choice. Prior to Thatcher, the Conservatives were simply a watered down version of the Labor Party.

"IRON LADY"

A good read in deed about a the path of a woman that was set on chemistry, but as fate would have it, she changed her tangent and veered into politics, and rose into the lime light. A significant portrait the book paints is the mould of her character; very robust and backs down at nothing regarding her views. Despite all criticism against her, it is this "Iron Lady", who will successfully lead Britain out of the negative economic effects of world war 2. She will go down into history as the first female prime minister of Britain.

A FAITHFUL SERVANT

Margaret's rising from a humble family to become a great reputable world leader is commendable. Her patriotism and courage benefited many.
The book is very good for people of all walks of life.
Though short, the book is clear and covers a wide range of Margaret's life.

Margaret Thatcher, also known as the “Iron Lady,” was United Kingdom’s first woman Prime Minister. She was strong willed, controversial and yet also admired.

The book was an enjoyable read- I got a sense of who she was and there was a little history about what was happening in the world during her time as the Prime Minister.

Margaret Thatcher is an interesting person and worth reading about. She was the first female prime minister in Britain. She was tough and ambitious. This is a good concise bio at 55 pages that mostly covers her political career, though I would’ve liked more about her husband and kids.

The Iron Lady and Her Legacy of Service

A great read of the of a life well lived. Her service to her country, and it's people was paramount as she strove to unite the country and restore prosperity during many hardships that they endured after World War II.

Margaret Thatcher: A Life from Beginning to End. Margaret Hilda Roberts in Grantham, England, on October 13, 1925. I went from knowing nothing about this lady to knowing a little. That's good enough for me.

Superb

A really good quick read that counts out the highs as well as the lows. I enjoyed the factual nature of the book as opposed to opinionated versions.

It was so awful, biased, contained inaccuracies, left important info out and was poorly written.

The beauty of reading biographies after the person's death is that the reader sees the whole life in one unified whole. I remember Margaret Thatcher during the 1980s and her close friendship with Ronald Reagan. I didn't remember why the Falklands War was waged; this story makes it clear.

I remember she was called the Iron Lady and took it on as a badge of honor. She was and is the only woman to run the British government. I would like to have known what Maggie's relationship was with the Queen. Margaret Thatcher had an eventful life; I had no idea she trained as a chemist. I was impressed that she earned her law degree while having twins.
