Never let the North Wind touch your heart ...The people of the plains banned the North Wind into a mortal's body. This mortal was a boy named Rael, and he was Sosorra's closest friend and tentative first love. Now, she sets out on a dangerous treck into the mountains to save him and set the North Wind free - no matter the risk for her own heart and life."North Wind's Kiss" is an epic, yet self-contained short story about love and loss; fear and forgiveness. Set in an icy world of shamans and spirits, it's a perfect winter read.
I liked how determined Sosorra was to find her friend and to prove to her people that he was still alive.
The world building was ok, but I'd like to know more about the magic used and the North Wind itself. Was it sentient before it was trapped inside Rael?
The pacing was good, and I got caught up in Sosorra's emotions.
I liked the ending and I'm glad that things will improve for Sosorra's people but I would've liked the story to continue for a bit longer to include more about Rael and Sosorra after they were released into the wind.
I think I'll continue to read more books by this author
