This was cute! I enjoyed book one a lot more because I adored how the history of women's football in the UK was central to the story, and sadly football doesn't play a significant role in book 2. However, I do love how they kept the essence of the story, focusing on the way women have been historically discriminated against in various industries (first football and now academia/archaeology).

I was wondering how the theft of Egyptian artefacts by the British would be handled and I'm really pleased to say it was very well done. The story emphasised the importance of this history remaining in Egypt at Egyptian museums and why it was extremely bad that the British stole so much that wasn't theirs.

I loved the note at the end honouring the real Egyptian women who inspired our main character in this and the only thing I think it was missing was a note about how the fight to get the British Museum (and other museums) to return historical artefacts to their rightful owners is an ongoing struggle.

Despite being a bit sad about the move away from football, I think I will still pick up book three as these are fantastic middle-grade books.
