Pyschos & Poets: Volume 1

Rate this book
‘I don’t wanna grow old,’ I whisper to my mind, ‘I have to be meant for more.’
At least my words, damn me!
Is it death, is it disappearing or is it running away, What will bring them their worth,
If you gave me a hint, I would grow a farm,
I am trying to be a poet
And only to write,
This is my home
And it’s a war between the real and the wrong,
You can mock me all you want
But you have to take away these words, They are not enough to heal
But they are something,
They are something.

"All you give them is smiles and silence,
You sit on a throne of your own blood,
They don't know how much you've bled to have so much control..."

Poetries have the potential to transport you into a different world, a world of acceptance, reliance and peace. The storm brewing in your heart is suddenly calm snd diminishing, the burning fire of rage is doused by an unknown serenity blown by words and lines. How you find solace and yourself in another's writing is still a mysterious happening. That's the beauty and magic of poetries. "Psychos & Poets" explores the grey side of human experiences. It travels through the path of love, loss, pain, revenge, resilience and most of all the conflicting human mind.

"Sanity never made anyone climb mountains,
Sanity never made anyone take risks,
It's the insane who really make a difference."

"Psychos & Poets" is a poetry collection that spreads its theme ranging from different human emotions to conflicting inner voices. This book deals with sensitive topics such as self-harm, smoking, drug abuse, possible physical and emotional abuse and personality disorders. First of all kudos to the poetess for coming up with such soul touching poetries that despite of being less talked about, connects with the readers at some point. Each line in this book carries weight and clearly speaks about the inner turmoil we all face, the constant battle of heart and brain. Having a difficult childhood and growing up broken and damaged is something I can feel really well thus this book connects with me very well although some poetries didn't work for me.

"They don't have to forgive you, you don't have to forgive them
But you cannot hate yourself, cannot hate them..."

Coming to the writing, the language here is kept very simple. The interplay of words laced with emotions is another noteworthy thing about the book. This book can be subjective like all other books. For some it may work, for some it may not. Recommended to poetry lovers.

Imagine a world where words are not just a collection of letters, but a lifeline to the deepest corners of the human heart. This is the world Yashika Vahi creates in "Psychos & Poets". Known for her vibrant tapestry of talents, Vahi's foray into poetry is like a meteor shower in the literary sky - unexpected, brilliant, and utterly captivating.

"Psychos & Poets" isn't just a book; it's a soul-stirring journey across the terrain of human emotion. Steering clear of a conventional storyline, Vahi presents a mosaic of themes - the fear of aging, the allure of the unknown, and the eternal battle between truth and deception. Each poem, a standalone masterpiece, collectively narrates the author’s intimate dance with life’s most perplexing questions.

Vahi's writing style is like a river in full spate - wild, unbridled, and deeply moving. Her prose is not just read but felt, each word resonating with an almost tangible intensity. The narrative voice is so personal it feels like a whisper in your ear, and her use of language is nothing short of artistry.

While traditional characters are conspicuously absent, each poem in the collection embodies a fragment of the human spirit. Vahi's exploration of themes is as deep as it is broad, striking a chord with anyone who has pondered life's big questions. Her portrayal of mental and emotional landscapes is so vivid, that it’s almost as if the poems breathe.

The book’s structure is a testament to the beauty of chaos. Its non-linear approach mirrors the unpredictability of life, with each poem adding a unique hue to the canvas. This unorthodox arrangement ensures that every reading experience is unique, keeping you hooked from start to finish.

Vahi tackles themes of existential angst, self-exploration, and the search for meaning with a deft hand. Her poems are more than just words; they are a mirror reflecting our collective psyche, offering insights into life, death, and everything in between.

Prepare for an emotional odyssey. "Psychos & Poets" will take you from the depths of despair to the heights of hope, often within the span of a few lines. It’s a book that doesn’t just touch your heart; it seizes it, leaving an indelible mark.

The book’s raw honesty is its most striking feature. Vahi’s fearless dive into the complexities of emotion and existence is both rare and refreshing. Her poetic voice is not just heard; it echoes in the chambers of the soul. For those seeking a linear narrative or clear-cut resolutions, this book might be a challenging terrain. Its abstract nature is its charm and curse, potentially alienating readers who prefer a more straightforward approach.

On a personal note, "Psychos & Poets" struck a chord deep within me. It was like reading a reflection of my soul, a journey both comforting and confronting. My penchant for introspective poetry undoubtedly coloured my reading experience.

"Psychos & Poets" by Yashika Vahi is more than a book; it's an experience. It’s a must-read for anyone who finds solace in the poetic exploration of life’s complexities. This collection is not just a showcase of Vahi’s talent; it’s a brave, unflinching gaze into the abyss of the human experience. It’s a journey worth embarking on, promising to transform and transcend in equal measure.

"Psychos & Poets: Volume 1" delves deep into the tumultuous journey of self-discovery and artistic expression. Through poignant verses and introspective musings, the author Yashika Vahi navigates the complexities of existence, grappling with the desire for meaning and the fear of stagnation.

The book's title itself, "Psychos & Poets," hints at the dichotomy inherent in human nature—the struggle between madness and creativity, between chaos and order. This theme reverberates throughout the pages, as the protagonist wrestles with the duality of their psyche.

The blurb sets the tone for the book, offering a glimpse into the inner turmoil of the protagonists as they confront the inevitability of ageing and the quest for significance. The yearning for something more, coupled with the recognition of the limitations of words to fully capture the human experience, creates a sense of urgency and raw authenticity.

The author's voice is both raw and lyrical, weaving together emotions and imagery with precision and depth. Each poem is a journey unto itself, inviting readers to delve into the complexities of the human condition and the universal quest for purpose.

I would like to quote a few verses from a poem that I enjoyed reading and resonated with —
“You are one in a billion
And you are unique
But you are still just one among billions,

Don’t define yourself,
Don't give yourself an identity,
Just let yourself be.”

While the themes explored may be heavy, there is also a glimmer of hope woven throughout—a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of art. Ultimately, "Psychos & Poets: Volume 1" is a compelling exploration of life, love, and the pursuit of meaning—a testament to the enduring power of poetry to illuminate the darkest corners of the soul.

"I'm Scared,
I'm scared I'll lose what took me years to build, just with a look of hers"

'Psychos & Poets' is a poetry collection that explores the darker shade of human emotions. From sorrow to disappointments to self harm, this is a collection of gut wrenching poetry.

This book is like an extended story expressed in poetry, from the disappointments of childhood, the fear of unknown to the pain of emotional abuse; each poem expresses the deepest turmoil expressed by the poet.

"Different on the outside
But all broken on the inside

All looking for a little light,
For a little direction
To find our way back home."

The theme of a difficult childhood and being emotionally damaged as a result is the dominant theme of the book. The book captures the pain, the emotional turmoil, the existential crisis, the discovery of self, the inner conflict really well, expressing it in words.

The raw emotions and the evocative poetry weaves a tapestry of emotions, inviting the readers to explore the deepest recesses of the human mind. The unorthodox approach and the unique poetry style adds a different dimension to the collection.

Overall, 'Psychos & Poets' is a deeply introspective experience making you reflect on the emotions expressed through the poems. If you are looking for something dark yet lyrical, this collection is a great pick.

"Do you wanna go somewhere else,
Perhaps to an unknown land that reeks of magic,
Where we could read our books all day
And drink coffee and wine that makes our heart sweeter"
.
Yashika Vahi's Psychos and Poets explores the myriad emotions of despair and agony, hatred, desperation, chaos and introspection too.
This is my 2nd poetry book from Yashika's, and her compositions are mainly based on the dark theme of love, life and relationship.
Within the book, we could witness the unsettling bond between the mother-daughter duo, the two lovers and fate. Her unfiltered expression symbolizes boldness, audacity, and acceptance, which is obviously not normalized yet. Because all the things cannot be bright and beautiful, someone has to take the stand and spill the beans.
The poems in her book are styled in free verse, and not following any fixed pattern. Apart from the content and the emotions she had poured into writing, I wasn't able to comprehend all that is being said. Moreover, without a title at the beginning of each poem made it somewhat less intriguing. The relatable content, however, kept me going with the pages.
