The Embraced - Blood of an Angel By Anya Bast Book 3 in the Embraced series. Tiya is turning the tables on the Embraced. She wants their blood. With a desire for vengeanceÂ…and lots of weaponsÂ…she's searching for the rogue Vampir who killed her family. One night she meets her match in Charlie, a visiting vamp in the territory where she's hunting. Charlie tracks down the woman he knows isn't human because she's too fast and way too strong. Soon he becomes obsessed with her and her plight. All he wants is Tiya naked and beneath him on a bed. He wants to possess her in every way. Her blood sings to his and he soon finds out why. Tiya is OtherKin SidheÂ…a real, live faery. Tiya discovers that Charlie has enough sexual heat to melt away the cold knot of revenge within her. He's a well-bred, well-mannered vamp, but once she gets him stripped, his civilized composure turns into erotic single-minded passion that rocks her to her core. Charlie makes her feel alive again. But Tiya's feelings of being alive may not last. Someone in this territory hungers for the special blood of the OtherKin SidheÂ…and her family's blood in particular.
Anya Bast is the author of numerous works of romantic fiction, mostly all paranormal and mostly all scorching hot. She lives in the country with her husband, daughter, eight cats, a dog, and an odd assortment of rescued animals.
She grew up in Minnesota and still favors the colder climates. After high school she moved to the southeast United States where she attended college. While in graduate school she sold her first book and decide to pursue her lifelong dream of writing instead of a career in psychology.
Somewhat reclusive by nature, she can be drawn out with a good bottle of red wine, classic movies, or good music. When she’s not writing, she can be found trying to grow organic vegetables, shopping in thrift stores for that perfect piece of clothing, or dreaming about travel to some faraway country.
She’s hard at work on a brand new series for Berkley Sensation right now, while winding up her national bestselling Elemental Witches quartet.
The third in Anya Bast's Embraced series - this is another well written action oriented vampire paranormal. Not much Dominion action in this one but we are introduced to the OtherKin Sidhe via the heroine, Tiya. Tiya walked in on her family being ripped apart by vampires. She killed some but some got away and she is hunting them for revenge. In the process she comes across Charlie [a continuing character from books 1 and 2 who has had NO good luck with any of his love interests so far:] and injures him for getting in the way. He tracks her down, learns her story, and decides to help her out by finding out the truth. The sex in this one is definitely pushing the envelope compared to the other two - it includes a couple of scenes with f/f contact plus a 'moresome' group scene.
Bast does her usual outstanding job of introducing multiple fascinating characters with their own plots and then weaving them into the main plot.
Order is important with this series and especially this book. Although if you read it as a standalone you'd be OK - but you wouldn't know a lot of important background about Charlie, Adam and Niccolo. It's worth it to read the whole series in order.

Anya Bast continues her story in this 3rd book of the Embraced series, BLOOD OF AN ANGEL. This book introduces Tiya, an OtherKin Sidhe…a fairy. She’s a woman hell bent on getting revenge for her family’s murder. Charlie has lost two women that he loved and fled from Gabriel’s territory to get away from all his memorys. Anya put these two together for a wonderful story of love, lust, betrayal and vengeance.
This story touched me. I couldn’t help but put myself in both Tiya and Charlie’s shoes, both having been hurt by love lost..it’s hard to want to be open to love again even when the lust is overwhelming. This book brought so much for me love, betrayal, the need for revenge, all of which I can relate to. The action was sweet while the romance was smoking hot.
Interesting take on vampires, their worlds, humans and evil not to mention other paranormal creatures. Bast's writing has improved since this was originally published.
