Dominic

Rate this book
In New Orleans, where the days are hot and the nights are sizzling, there's no place hotter than Fallen Angel, Dominic LaFontaine's nightclub. For centuries, Dominic has lived on the outside of life studying the mortals around him, and although he has loved Teresa Ryder for five years, reaching out for her love was a risk he wasn't willing to take. With Heaven denied him, he has tried to create a small paradise on earth for himself--a paradise that he now realizes means nothing without the one woman who completes him.

Tiffany Aaron has always been writing. She still has one of the first stories she ever wrote about a time machine and talking mushrooms. While her head was in the clouds, her parents told her to prepare for the "real" world. So she got a degree and a job, but never stopped writing. Her favorite question is "What if?" and so a story is born. She lives in Michigan with her loving husband. She has two dogs-one who believes he's human and the other who loves to hear the sound of her own bark. When she's not writing, she's reading or watching Jet Li movies.

New Orleans by Tiffany Aaron is the 3rd book in the Fallen series. This story follows Dominic and Teresa who have been best friend for years. They have secretly been in love with each other for year but neither have had the courage to voice their love aloud. It takes Teresa dating another man, Vincent, for Dominic to release what he is losing. When he takes the chance to vocalize his feelings, Teresa dumps the new guy for the man she has longed for. Unfortunately, Vincent is not what he seems and doesn’t let go of Teresa easily. Vincent has placed a Vodou curse on Teresa and now it will take everything Dominic has to save her. But is being a fallen angel enough to save the woman he loves?

New Orleans starts out great. I instantly liked Dominic and Teresa. The connection between them is strong and it just keeps growing thorough the book. The secondary characters were a wonderful compliment to the story. They had great personalities and perked my interest to see they all get their own story. My personal favorite is Mika’il. I really would like to see him get a HEA but as an archangel something tells me that will go as a unanswered wish. It was about ¾ of the way into the story I felt it started to lose some of its steam. Not the sexual heat type. That was spot on from start to finish. Probably because Dominic and Teresa are friends and have love each other for so long. They do get their HEA it’s just with all this build-up, this great anticipated ending I felt should have happened, felt very rushed and fizzled out for me. The story is still great and I do think this is definitely worth the read, but for me, instead of ending in a ‘YES-YES-YES!’ it was more of an ‘Oh, okay’.

New Orleans is the first book in the Fallen series that I have read. . It was originally released under the title Fallen: Dominic with a different cover. I’m definitely enjoying the changes because the new cover is sweet! There were a some references to things that had occurred with Dominic in a previous book, which makes me wish I had gotten the chance to read the first two books in the series. However, in the end, I think it worked very well as a stand-alone. With the combination of fallen angels and the lovely city of New Orleans, this book is something I will be recommending.

I received this book from JeepDiva for the express purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.
