Blood Debt by Ian Loome is the second story about Bob Singleton and he is growing on me, it's a funfilled action series with some great characters.Bob is an ex CIA assassin on the run from his former employer and they spare nothing to find him. Along his way he stumbles upon bad guys and good guys and he feels he needs to help the good ones out. This leads to trouble. I discovered this author recently and he actually has been around for a while and some of his work is under other pen names, some of those being published under the Loome name. This time he is on his way to meet the parent of one of his old team mates when a biker gang some drug dealing and an evil developer / casino owner gets in the way. This leads to mayhem. I must thank Netgalley and Inkubator Books for letting me read this avance copy.

And we are back with Bob!! He has definitely got a Reacher complex in this book, but to be honest I was on board with it! I mean, this is action from the get-go, from Pastor Green squaring off to the Bikers across the road, to the last pages, where I had my heart in my throat with Gaines! It was such an easy book to devour. Despite being long, I just couldn’t put it down!

Bob is such a down-to-earth type of guy, although he so not that type of guy! He has a lot of guilt he needs to work through, and Wanda definitely called it correctly. She saw how he felt the need to hate himself a bit to get himself through the day.

Bob kicks ass in the best way, and boy he’s tough! He takes no prisoners and if you are on the wrong side of him, well I would run! There is an opening at the end of the book for another adventure so I will be interested to see what fallout could happen! I know I am looking forward to the next one.

I have another action hero, that I am just a little bit in love with!

Plenty of action in the 2nd book of the Rouge Warrior series and Bob is not playing nice. Good cast of characters, plot, and not a dull moment throughout the book. Bob is a former CIA Black Ops member and has to deal with some bad people while on the path of redemption.
Hope for more in this series and I have to thank Netgalley and Inkubator Books for the ARC of this book.

Blood Debt by Ian Loome
Rogue Warrior #2

Bob was a boy when his father started to teach him hunting and survival skills and though it was not his favorite thing to do, he became very VERY good at it. These skills would help Bab Singleton as he became a US Marine and then later in his position working for the CIA in black ops.

Bob was introduced in the first book as a homeless alcoholic on the streets for nearly a decade. He proved to be brilliant, quick, and deadly with an unquestionable moral compass. At the end of the book, he had righted some wrongs, taken out some bad guys, and was running for his life with a price on his head. He was a man to reckoned with. As this book begins, we see a decades younger Bob in the woods playing survival and hunting games created by his father - games that provide skills that will set him up to do well in the future both as a Marine and later in special black operations for the CIA.

When Bob shows up in New Orleans to give something to the parents of Jon Rice, a former teammate, it was meant to be a quick stop but instead he finds himself being pulled into preventing a plot to blockbust the community where Jon’s mother and stepfather live. There are motorcycle thugs, an unscrupulous lawyer, and a foreign-born casino owner in on the plot that need to be dealt with before Bob can head on down the road.

Will Bob be able to keep Wanda and Don safe while thwarting the blockbusting plot and if so, what will it require of him – mentally and physically? Who will be there that he can call on for help if anyone? And will he be able to determine what is required to solve the problems he is facing in New Orleans while also staying ahead of the people sent to take him out by the CIA?

This was an action-packed, fast-paced, thrill-ride from beginning to end. Once on the rollercoaster it was difficult to disembark for both Bob and for me. I would gladly tag along on Bob’s next adventure when it is made available.

While on the run from the CIA, Bob Singleton visits a deceased teammate’s mother to pay his respects and provide some closure. Simple, right? Wrong. Enter a motorcycle gang hell bent on forcing residents to sell their hard-earned homes on the cheap, a corrupt lawyer more than willing to ink the nefarious sales, a mysterious casino owner with deep pockets, plus, CIA black-ops crew hot on the trail of this elusive target.

Added to that, Bob’s got his own demons to fight. He’s got his work cut out for him, but this is what he’s trained to do. And he’s damn good at it.

This was an exciting read, with a few surprises that will keep you coming back for more. An enjoyable read.

A few characters could have been developed more; however, that may have distracted from the pace of the novel, which was quite fast. The inner conflict suffered by the main protagonist is relatable and you feel a sense of achievement each time he fights through his struggles. The fight scenes are written well, and allow you to visualize them with ease, giving you the feeling of being right there alongside our hero.

If you love fast-paced action and visceral human emotions, this is a book you should really dive into. A great follow-up to the debut in this series.

Bob is back and this time he is visiting New Orleans to meet up with the father of an old colleague. When he gets there, he immediately finds himself helping the father stand up to some bikers living across the road so immediately makes some enemies. The bikers seem to have another agenda other than dealing and seem determined to force people out of their homes.

What follows is an intense high octane thriller as Bob faces off against the bikers and their backers. You can't help but be riveted by this. Bob may be violent but it comes from a good place and he's a character I really like. This is only the second book but it already feels like he is a character that has been around for ages and I feel totally connected with. A great read.

Bob Singleton is a man with flaws and deadly talents. He's still attempting to find some redemption for her former Black Ops CIA days and this has led him to New Orleans. He's there to visit an old team-mate's mother and he arrives just in time to get involved in some trouble!

Bob is such a great character. His flaws, his pain and his talent for trouble just add layers to his personality. He's very Reacher-esque in that he travels solo, very light and is essentially a one man investigation team! I loved watching as he took down the Biker Gang terrorising the neighbourhood, piece by piece. When you think he's going to permanently remove an opponent, he zigs and just puts an intense crimp in his dealings! But don't worry there are still plenty of things that go boom and bad guys who bleed!

Can't wait to see what happens when he moves on again!

Bob Singleton is now in New Orleans to visit the parents of one of the former members of his team. Upon arriving he sees a man knockout a guy who appears to be a biker and when he gets closer sees that it is the father of his friend. He then finds out that the biker gang has been stirring up trouble and for some reason, they have been buying homes in the neighborhood. Bob begins to look into it and that starts the mess that begins and ends with Bob. A really good book that does not end with action until the last pages. Very much worth the read. I received this book from Netgalley.com

Book 2, it might help to read book 1 to get a better insight into Bob's character. However, the book works as a standalone. Bob Singleton is on the move to keep his head down, headed South. But Bob struggles and sticks his nose into business which gets him into trouble. There are various character perspectives to show who Bob is as a character and how others perceive Bob, particularly those in the CIA and the people Bob encounters while on the run. There is plenty of action in this descriptive story.

Above average thriller

This read kept attention. Although it read like a Mack Bolen novel, it had enough differences to make this a decent book for a rainy Saturday afternoon. Yes, it is predictable. Yes, the dialogue is predictable. Overall, it is cut above the genre, and it least has a broken hero that can be identifiable.
I actually enjoyed the book and may read something else by this author, but it depends on what I am looking for at the time.

Good Thriller

A good thriller that pits a good guy while stopping off to visit the parent of a former colleague gets himself involved in a dispute between a church minister and bikers trying to force people from their homes so that the property can be bought cheap by a casino boss.

Another good book

This author has done it again. After reading the first one, I was anxiously awaiting book 2. It did not disappoint. How Bob gets out of the mess that he gets drawn into is something. Somehow he finds a way. He's always thinking steps ahead of the bad guys. The subtle humor the author throws in has me laughing out loud. I can't wait for the next one!

Bob stops to see his friends parents to tell them what really happened to their son.

But as always things don't go as planned & he lends a hand in trying to save the parents from and gang of bikers who are destroying their happy quiet neighborhood. Nothing is ever easy especially with Bob getting involved.

This was a barn burner I could not seem to stop reading until two AM to go to bed. the plot was fun to follow, the writing was excellent, the action was unbelievable, and this reader was almost enthralled by "Bob" in every way!
Loome made him seem real while I realized it would be almost impossible for him to survive during exploits after the bad guys.
Overall this is a FUN book to read!

hi speed adventure

This book would have received 5 stars if it had not been for the waffling between professional special forces soldier and the I am moody can’t make up my mind or stay professional stuff. I have never been a fan of the melodramatic mistakes in order to make a plot work. Either he is a professional soldier or not. Because I like bob just bob.

Not in my neighborhood!

Bob saved a few neighborhoods from “blockbusting” by a rich sociopath who hired a biker gang to get rid of the homeowners through intimidation and violence. What I liked is that Bob, though still struggling with his demons and the overwhelming desire to take a drink, is trying very hard to help those who need it.

Can I get some peace and quiet? Bob

Falling off the grid trying to help others to make up for a CIA hit man life. Bob just lives by one word- avoidance. Doesn't seem to work well for Bob. When it doesn't it's nonstop action - last chance - kill all the bad guys! Keep his friends and family safe. Bob is never dull!

Easy and entertaining read with a lot of action, which isn't always of the smart kind. It's good when an author gets the facts straight, and unfortunately there are some misses here. But it is entertainment.

Redemption

Good reading. Constant action. Title lends to the character of the man. Conscience of the man has him doing something to alleviate his former life and the deeds he was involved in.

A reasonable storyline. But suffers the same problem as the first book in that the hero is again at the total mercy of the baddies on three occasions and yet he lives to fight another day. Just shoot him for Pete's sake.

2nd book in even better

Great series, lot of action, and just a really good story. Pretty close for Bob once or twice, but proper planning and practice prevents p#&$ poor performance. Good stuff.

loved it

The story was most engaging and had me laughing out loud many times. Book one was good but book two was great. I’m apprehensive about following Bob into book 3. Can it top book 2? We’ll see.

This read for us began a little on the slow side, with the verbage being a bit tough to traverse. HOWEVER, as the story progressed, it was GREAT. The second half of the book was fast paced and excellent. This book was wonderful.

A strong military veteran who is traveling the country and meets people with problems that he tries to help them solve. He knows how to take out those groups that prey on innocents. I enjoy the action and the character himself. Will for sure continue this series.

Murder and Mayhem

Not sure if I liked this book . I appreciated Bob's wanting to help and 'diffuse' the situation, however, I did not appreciate the violence. I acquired this book as part of my Prime membership. Not sure if I will continue reading the series.
