Yvonne N. Bui's How to Write a Master's Thesis is a step-by-step guidebook that demystifies a process that can often prove to be overwhelming and confusing to graduate students. The tone and format of this applied book is reader-friendly and includes practical suggestions that go beyond informing what "should" be done. It is chock full of detailed explanations, examples, and supplemental materials that have been used successfully in advising students in completing their master's theses.
Another grad school money grab. Author talks about Google scholar and talking to your librarian. This author is one of those people that inadvertently talks people out of getting their Masters. She has over complicated quite a bit. There are a few gems here, but not many. I read this as a head start for my masters thesis this semester. Very much in the line of books like “how to read a research paper” and “how to write a systemic review”. These authors seem to just want a title that sells well with grad schools so they can make a quick buck.
2/5 Stars. Honestly not sure why this book was required reading for my masters degree since its not applicable to the style of subject in which I am getting a masters. Kind of was a waste of time.
