EFT for Christians

Rate this book
While Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) has been gaining in widespread use and popularity during the past decade, most Christians are unfamiliar with this gentle and astonishingly effective self-help tool. Those who have discovered its healing potential may be unsure how it fits in with their faith. Sherrie Rice Smith, RN (Retired) has an extensive faith-based EFT practice, and has pioneered the use of this breakthrough approach (also called "tapping") with Christians. In this book she shows how to use Scripture while tapping and how EFT can strengthen the prayer life of the believer. Packed with compelling case histories of both physical and emotional healing drawn from her Christian EFT practice, as well as her extensive nursing background, Sherrie explains the science behind Clinical EFT and how it works in harmony with our divinely created physiology. She shows how a combination of good science and firm faith is able to provide dramatic relief from a wide variety of suffering, whether it is spiritual, emotional, or physical, and how to integrate this self-help method with the Christian life.

Sherrie Rice Smith, R.N. (retired) devoted over four decades to her nursing career which included providing hospice, ER, medical/surgical, and pediatric care. Given her keen interest in biology, physiology, psychology, philosophy, and quantum physics, she understands the scientific mechanics of why EFT works so well. Her own traumatic childhood and subsequent struggles also inform her personal appreciation of how EFT delivers relief to those suffering both physically as well as emotionally as EFT has delivered a source of deep healing and renewal in her own life.

A devout follower of Jesus for the majority of her adult life, Sherrie’s a certified EFT Practitioner/Trainer/Instructor and is teaching other Christians as well as EFT practitioners, pioneering this new healing modality which powerfully combines prayer with tapping. In her own practice, she taps with clients of all faith bases (or no faith base if desired) utilizing Clinical EFT.

This book is definitely an amazing tool for emotional healing. Anyone who has experienced anxiety, depression, stress, or any other sort of emotional trauma should know about this book and these techniques. Christians especially need to know about Emotional Freedom Techniques, because for thousands of years, the Christian church has (incorrectly) viewed the body and soul/spirit to be separate, if not at odds. In this book, the body/soul dichotomy is challenged in a biblical manner.

The techniques taught in this book use the functions of the body that God already placed inside of us to help relieve and heal trauma and stress-related problems. The steps taught in this book are clearly explained. The science behind the techniques is explained, as well as the spiritual aspects. There is not "blind faith" or mysticism involved. When you begin practicing the techniques, you know what you are doing and why it should work.

I personally think that every Christian should read this book. Many Christians don't know much about emotional and mental frailties, so they assume that such problems are a "faith issue," and that simply isn't so. Christians need to educate themselves about the body and mind, since both of them were given to us by God, and he can bring about healing through all of the 3 parts of our being.
