This book started with a big bang and took off from there.
Someone is out to get this team and take out their families.
Mateo's mission is to get close to this bank employee. She has money in gold that is not evident as to where it came from. Is she working for the enemy and transferring money for them?
Mateo is in trouble, after getting to know her she is so nice and he's falling for her.
Starting a relationship with lies is not going to end well.
Finding out danger is on her doorstep the latter part of the story becomes a fight for survival.
So exciting, I loved this story.

The prologue of this book shows Mateo as he visits his mother in hospice. He hadn't known she was there until two days ago. He's able to speak with her a bit before her medication takes her back to pain free sleep. Unfortunately, that was all the time he got with her before she passed away.
This book opens as Mateo joins the chaos of a birthday party at Gideon's house. The festivities that started at a putt-putt golf and games had been cut short by a storm. The other members of his team were at a local pub watching the game and would join them later. He's dripping wet from the storm and is greeted by Amber and Lachlan Drakos. Amber gives him a rundown on who's there, both children and adults. Amy Linden greets him as Lachlan gives him a towel, she suggests borrowing one of Gideon's t-shirts until his is dry. I love his interactions with the kids especially two scared little girls with Amy. As they handle that crisis Mateo hears a dog barking.
Gideon's dog Lucy hardly ever barks, and Mateo needs to check on her. What he sees has a prickle starting up the back of his neck and that only gets worse when Bonnie tells him Lucy was barking and scratching at the sliding doors when they arrived. Her barking was scaring the kids, so Bonnie wrangled her into the mud room but didn't call Gideon.
Mateo calls Gideon and when he describes Lucy's actions, Gideon informs him she's on alert, he needs to get home. He also tells Mateo to get everyone out and away from the house.
Mateo finds a bomb attached to the pool pump. Braxton's on his way but there's not much time. Lucy has him running after her again to the HVAC unit on the side of house. He's working on getting the housing off when Bonnie calls out to him that one of the kids is still in the house.
It's a race against time, one Mateo can't lose.
Mateo wakes in the hospital and Braxton is at his side. This is a huge relief as well as learning Lucy is okay as well.
As expected, the team is in an uproar over their families being targeted and the most logical suspect is The Kraken. Even though they took out the head of that organization Amanda is still around. The question is would she go after this sort of retribution.
Their best bet as always is to follow the money, so that is what they do. It leads to money being converted to cryptocurrency and transfers to banks in the Cayman Islands.
This is where Mateo comes in to investigate who is doing the transfers. MacLaine Taylor Simpson handled the latest transfer and that is who he will need to get information from.
Maclaine 'Lainey' Simpson is part of the bank's management trainee program. Her boss, as she started this phase of the training went on vacation leaving her with only one coworker. Janice had applied for the program but didn't make it and as such she keeps throwing things at Lainey and offering no help whatsoever.
From here the investigation heats up as Mateo makes contact. He doesn't expect to fall for his subject or to have to prove her innocence to his team.
I love the way this story unfolds. There is plenty of suspense and intrigue as the romance slowly goes from simmer to sizzle.
I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Her Brave Warrior is the sixth book in the Omega Sky series by Caitlyn O’Leary and is Mateo and Lainey’s story – it can absolutely be read as a stand-alone, but does include characters and a continuing storyline from other books in the series. Mateo is alone in the world except for his SEAL team. Lainey is from an old-school wealthy southern family. They initially meet when the team is investigating Lainey. This story differs from others by this author because for much of the book, the team is not sure they can trust Lainey which adds an interesting wrinkle to the story.
The book starts with a sad chapter from Mateo’s past as a prologue but the first full chapter is edge of your seat tense and action packed with an attack on the team’ loved ones which puts them all on edge and starts them on a path to remove the threat on their own. Mateo starts dating (in an undercover status) Lainey to get close to her and determine if she is working with terrorists who targeted the Omega Sky team’s families. Despite the team’s reservations, Mateo can’t help but fall for Lainey. She goes out of her way to make him food from his native Argentina, she adopted a dog about to be euthanized and generally seems to be the sweetest person.
Lainey’s family is pretty dysfunctional and she has never really fit in - a fact about which her mother constantly reminds her. Mateo goes with Lainey for a family event where he stands-up for her against her mother and others but his cover is blown and the relationship goes off the rails. Mateo has a lot to make-up for and Lainey is facing a danger the team did not see. They last few chapters are nerve-wracking but the ending is well worth any anxiety.
As is always the case with Caitlyn’s books, I read it so fast that it was over much too soon and I am left anxiously waiting for the next one. I strongly recommend this book or really anything by this author.

This story starts with Mateo visiting his mother and her passing away quickly afterwards. Such a sombre setting then leads into a high action sequence when someone attacks Gideon's house and the most vulnerable and innocent are in harms way. This all coalesces in Mateo and makes him determined to find out who was involved and root out the money trail that should lead them to whoever it was.
He goes undercover to get intel from the bank processing the money but finds that MacLaine Simpson is actually Lainey Simpson and now he has to engineer a meet-cute to slide into her life!
Maclaine aka Lainey is new to the job, has a colleague making her life unbearable and a boss who left after only 4 days, so she's kind of sinking more than swimming at the moment. Mateo has become a bright spot in her life and their chemistry is on fire! However, will she take it as well when she finds out Mateo is undercover?
I felt a lot of sympathy for Lainey. She may be from a well-off and privileged background but that doesn't make her immune to life, she has problems like everyone else including her toxic mother and sister. I really would have loved to slap the pair of them - they were odious and Daddy wasn't much better. I did like her brothers though - they at least had a bit of a backbone. I felt she handled the deception well and had justifiable anger.
That scene with the "oranges" gave me the chills and I was rooting for Matt and the others to get there warp speed! Mateo had a few emotional traumas in this book and never really had sufficient time to get over them before whirling into action so he really was pulled in different directions.
I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to see what happens with Brax!

Book #6 in Caitlyn O’Leary’s wonderful Omega Sky series has the team scrambling for answers and information when the terrorist organisation they know as Kraken Elite targets their families. With their families being hunted Omega Sky need to work out who is now leading the organisation so they can cut the head off the snake. Following the money trail throws a spotlight on banker MacLaine Simpson and Mateo Aranda volunteers to go undercover to get the information they need. Only MacLaine turns out to be Lainey and Mateo is instantly attracted. Conflict abounds for Mateo, all the evidence points to the woman he is falling for being in bed with terrorises but his gut tells him she is not involved. Lainey is falling just as fast but what will happen when she discovers the sexy, strong man she is losing her heart too isn’t actually who he claims to be.
Romantic suspense at its best, Lainey and Mateo are falling hard but is she an innocent victim in all this, can Mateo get the answers he needs before completely losing his heart, can Lainey forgive him?
Plenty of action, intrigue, romance, loved Lainey and her dysfunctional family, some laugh out loud moments. Throughly enjoyed this story and it’s highs and lows. Lainey is a gem and always a joy with so many supporting characters.

From the prologue to the epilogue “Her Brave Warrior” does not disappoint. This book is an action-packed story, complete with drama, deception, humour and romance. The plot line slowly builds with each page and the story flows smoothly. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Mateo Aranda, Navy SEAL, volunteers to follow the money and his quest leads him to MacLaine Taylor Simpson, whom is believed to be working with Kraken through the bank. Humorous events follow as MacLaine turns out to the Lainey and the sparks fly between them.
Will Mateo be able to convince his team that Lainey is innocent? Will the team be able to stop the Kraken Elite organization? Will Mateo and Lainey get their HEA?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and without a doubt, you won’t want to put “Her Brave Warrior” down until you have read it in its entirety. I read it in one sitting and wish I could give more than five stars. Even though all books are standalones I recommend you read this series in order as characters from previous books are referenced.

He will not allow the targeting of his friends’ families, Mateo was on the hunt, the trail points to Lainey Simpson, his mind tells him he has to do whatever is necessary to squeeze her for info, but his gut tells him something else entirely. Mateo is left trying to figure out if Lainey needs his protection, or if his team needs protection from Lainey and the people she might be working with.
This book felt slower in the romance, which I prefer, Lainey has been brought up in the rich southern elite, her family are always trying to get her to conform, marry a suitable beau, and provide 3 children. But thanks to her grandmother, she was able to set her own path... But thanks to grandma's gift, it's also put her job in the bank on the team's suspect list.
Will Lainey and Matteo romance survive when she realises it's foundation is based on lies...
I've enjoyed this series so far, and I look forward to seeing what the teams next mission leads to.

What can I say that hasn't been said in the reviews without repeating everything? I don't think I can so I'm just gonna start off with that Heartbreaking prologue. Mateo finds out his mother is in hospice but he has no idea why. Hoping to spend as much time with his mom as he can, he returns the next day to find she has passed away.
The next time we find Mateo he is at Gideon's house for birthday festivities and offering his help trying to wrangle kids after their putt putt game was rained out.
From the first chapter it was nonstop action as the guys on Omega Sky team try to figure out which of their enemies have targeted their families and keep them safe.
Lainey is from a very prominent rich Southern family that she hated! With the help of her deceased grandma Simpson and the safe deposit box she left Lainey, she was able to move to Maryland and got a job at a bank.
I loved the slow burn between Mateo and Lainey and how we got to see a different side to the Navy SEAL.
I always get a kick out of the ribbing from each one of the guys and the Brotherhood that has formed from working together for so long.
This was an edge of your seat suspense that I couldn't put down.
I was given an opportunity to read an ARC and my review is completely voluntary.

Her Brave warrior has all the components of an exceptional romantic suspense: action, intrigue, danger, injury and desire, and while the romance is undeniably heartfelt and passionate, it’s the overwhelming commitment of these warrior men to not only serve and protect their country, but to stand as a brotherhood that vows no harm will come to those that they and their teammates love.
Ms O’Leary has penned another riveting story that will keep the reader thoroughly captivated and glued to the pages till the last word is devoured, and while each story is meant to stand on its own, reading the series in order provides a better understanding of the team dynamics and the relationship between the men.

This is a stand alone romantic suspense with a sweet protective alpha navy SEAL and a smart southern independent belle. While it can be read as part of a series, it does not have a cliffhanger and has a happily ever after.
Mateo is a sweet sweet protective Navy SEAL on the omega sky team. The prologue and his story about his family brought tears to my eyes. After that, came the threat to the omega sky team. And Mateo has to meet Lainey to figure out is she is helping the Kraken. The Kraken are a team of ruthless mercenaries with everything from money laundering to shady deals to drugs and making people disappear, under their belt.
Lainey has no idea about Mateo’s real purpose but she has her own drama at work and at home. And she has a drive to prove herself.
This makes for an excellent reading and edge of the seat thrills, sweet with heat romance, and heart stopping action.
Ms. Caitlyn O’Leary spun a believable, swoon worthy, heart beating out of my chest, romantic action adventure story with great characters. Both Mateo and Lainey have enough back story for us to understand them and see what drives them. And they have eyes for each other. The action scenes are written as if I can see them on a screen!

I was glued to my iPad for every emotional second, thrilled to be back with the Omega Sky crew. I can’t wait to see what happens in Braxton’s book!

This book had everything I’ve come to love about Caitlyn O’Leary’s work… compelling characters, dramatic intrigue and suspense, action, angst, spicy romance, witty banter, and that found family vibe of the military brotherhood! I was glued to my iPad for every emotional second, thrilled to be back with the Omega Sky crew. I can’t wait to see what happens in Braxton’s book!

Her Brave Warrior
Wow! Another FANTASTIC story by Caitlyn! This one is about Mateo and Lainey. The beginning was truly devastating but happy the women and kids were fine. This terrorist group needs to be taken care of. When the guys get a lead about a bank, Mateo wanted to feel like part of the team again, so he took the undercover assignment. He didn't expect to fall hard for his assignment. When he finally figured out that Lainey was innocent, he was a goner for her but his assignment was uncovered when Captain Hale mentioned his real name and Lainey caught that slip-up. They parted ways for at least a week until the team finally figured out who the bad guys were. They barely made it in time to save Lainey. The guys took care of one of the bad guys while the cops took care of the other bad guy. It's amazing that her mother also did a total turnaround, she was actually nice to Mateo and then to Lainey when she woke up from her surgery. So happy that Lainey was able to forgive Mateo of his lies. Now they can work on their happy ending. FANTASTIC job Caitlyn! I would highly recommend this book!

Whenever I pick up a book by this author, I am always confident that it will be another winner.
This latest addition to the Omega Sky series proves my point.
This time not only does the story belong to Omega Sky Navy SEAL Mateo Aranda, and Lainey Simpson, but also to the rest of the Omega Sky operatives and their families.
Mateo has been fighting for our country to eliminate terrorism all over the world but when the terrorism seems to be targeting the team and their family, all bets are off.
As he and the group try to figure out who is responsible for the focus of them, he is conflicted. It seems Lainey, the one he is attracted to, might be responsible.
Will they be able to find the culprit and stop it on time? Is Lainey really involved or just a pawn?
The action packed plot, was filled with bad guys, hunky good ones, suspend, and edge of your seat moments.
Definitely another winner worth your time.

Mateo and Lainey are another wonderful couple from Ms. O’Leary. As with all Caitlyn O’Leary books we see real and raw relationships with people who have flaws and have been through a lot of pain. People make mistakes and own up to them. Honestly, the set up for this particular book is normally not my cup of tea, I don’t appreciate deception and lying and suspecting someone without giving them a chance to defend themselves. While I typically don’t like this type of a storyline, I knew it would be handled well since it is a Caitlyn O’Leary book, and it was handled well, even if I felt there should be more groveling involved. On a bonus we got to meet some amazing dogs, Lucy was a hero and Xena just really stole the show and our hearts. And no worries, the dogs are all okay! If that hadn’t been the case my review would say that in large letters at the start. All in all a nice outing with the Omega Sky team that ties up a bunch of loose ends. I received an ARC and voluntarily left this review.

Her Brave Warrior is the latest in Caitlyn O'Leary's Omega Sky's series. I enjoyed returning to this world Ms. O'Leary has created. I loved getting to know Mateo better. He is determined to protect the family he has gained among his SEAL teammates. And when danger hits way too close to home he steps up. But how can he protect his family and the woman he is coming to love? I thoroughly enjoyed finding out as Mateo showed Lainey what love should look like. He stood up for her. He protected not just her body but her heart. Now if only he could convince her of his love. This was a wonderful addition to this series and I can't wait to see where Ms. O'Leary will take us next.

Intense! This is a fabulous warrior’s story! One doesn’t have to be on the battlefield to be a warrior.
This story became intense very quickly. Good thing Mateo had just arrived at Gideon’s house when he did. He saved so many lives.
I love the fierce devotion to the team, their significant others and the children. The team doesn’t take very kindly to the enemy coming onto US soil to inflict their terror on innocent people. They will be stopped by the Omega Sky team.
I fell in love with Mateo when he delivered so many flowers to Lainey to apologize. He’s such a sweet, romantic guy – until he turns into that protective warrior. Lainey is such a smart woman whose innocence lets other people sometimes take advantage of her, but has a heart of gold and wants to serve the lower income families in her community. These two are so similar, but yet complete opposites. I love her cooking ideas and her desire to make food from Mateo’s home country. This shows how much she cares for others.
Love this book. Can’t wait for more.

It is up to Mateo to determine if Lainey is a supporting member of the Kraken or the poor dupe who is in the wrong place at the right time. Mateo goes undercover, but proceeds to lose his heart to the sweetest southern girl you will hope to meet! After adventures with her seriously-need-to-be on their own reality TV show family, Lainey learns who Mateo really is. Of course she finds herself in life threatening danger and Omega Sky races to save her life and bring down Kraken at the same time! I absolutely loved this one. Mateo is such a sweetheart of an alpha protector, and Lainey is wicked smart but doesn’t understand GFI’s (hm, this reeks of a Caitlyn factor! IYKYK lol). You will fall in love with this couple and will be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!!! 12/10 recommend.

OMG, I loved this sixth journey of the Omega Sky team. Starts out with the team, plus families, kids, kids' friends, having a good party at Gideon's mansion type dwelling...until it all goes horribly wrong in an instant.
Mateo gets injured, Gideon's house is history, and where's Brax and Lucy?
It's a highly charged romantic suspense here. The Omega Sky team needs to figure out who's responsible, then destroy them, or none of them will ever be safe. And doing it all completely on the down low, no foreign soil mission here.
So injured Mateo gets to follow the money trail which leads him to MacClaine who works at a well established and secure bank. Imagine his surprise when MacClaine turns out to be Lainey, a sweet, caring, Southern genteel lady, who hates cotillions, dieting, and country clubs, but bakes like a dream. Oh, and who adopts three-legged fur babies on their last grace. His gut is telling him she's innocent, so just where the heck did she get a quarter of a mil IN GOLD to buy a condo. He needs to parse this and fast. His cover gets blown and Lainey walks away from him, then doesn't show up for work.
Now the Omega Sky team scrambles to find her before it's too late.
It's a fantastic read! I didn't look at the page numbers or the percentages, I just stayed riveted to the story all the way to the last happy sigh page, and I still want more.

I like all kinds of books but I always fall back on my favorite: military or former military romance/action books.
Sometimes loss shapes the rest of your life. It impacts how you live, where you live, who you love, who you become, and your reason for existing.
In order to understand Mateo's story, we first have to understand what shaped him. He's always been the guy to jump in to help and when the team is under attack, he jumps in undercover to find the culprit. But he finds so much more. And, just at the brink of happiness it looks like it's all being snatched away again.
I found this book to be enthralling. I loved the action scenes. I loved the characters (score one for feisty women everywhere!). And I loved how everything was seamlessly interwoven by the amazing Caitlyn O'Leary.
Would I recommend this book to you? Absolutely!! And, if I could give it more than 5 stars, I would.

Omega Sky still is tracking The Kraken but at a snails pace and hitting lots of dead ends. The old adage "follow the money" is an avenue they pursue. Mateo Aranda need to befriend a bank employee who just may have the right answers or even more may work for the bad guys. MacLaine Simpson turns out to be a proper southern belle instead of a "he" as Mateo surmised. Change of plans....wine and dine her. That's where the fun begins. Lainey is funny, beguiling, sexy, opinionated and forthright. She rather sets Mateo back on his heels. Instinctively he knows she's innocent but has to go about proving it. In doing so he falls head over fast even after getting a dose of Lainey's family. Yeah, you guessd it...real winners. Of course he gets outted in the most innocent way which results in a lot of explaing and groveling. Danger comes calling and Mateo along with his teammates answer with swift and deadly precision.

This series just keeps getting better and better! This book starts off with a bang and doesn't stop. Mateo and his team are still after the Kraken. The organization really messed up when they decided to go after the families of Omega Sky! They are determined to put a stop to them no matter what!! One link is MacLaine Simpson, aka Lainey. Mateo is tasked with finding out everything about her. This involves getting close to her. When he sees what a genuinely good person she is, he starts having doubts about her involvement with the Kraken. He is willing to do whatever it takes to protect her when danger shows up at her front door. Will he and his team get there in time to save her, and will they get the HEA they deserve? Get lost between the pages of Her Brave Warrior and find out! Sorry, no spoilers. I received this ARC and here is my honest review.

The prologue will capture your heart and have you shedding tears. Matteo goes home to find his mother in Hospice and not quite sure why she didn’t share her illness with him. Then advance forward to a team get together where one again this team is threatened on home turf. Matteo is injured and as he recuperates his team is searching for leads. Matteo is sent to Annapolis to meet with MacLaine who is really Lainey and thus his story takes several twists and turns leading him to find his soulmate and having to prove her innocence to his team. This book was realistic, a page turner and you won’t want to put it down. There is team drama, family drama, and a love worth fighting for them both. There is intrigue, suspense and a wonderful ending you won’t want to miss. Caitlyn this book is wonderful! Can’t wait for the next one. 5+ stars.

I love the many series and the books of Caitlyn O'Leary. Each book is a stands alone but, because many beloved characters enrich the stories, I would encourage reading the other books in the series (and the different series). That said, this was a tale that kept me reading from the first chapter. Prepare for a page turner with many unexpectant twists and turns. It is intrigue and romance and a combination of Southern charm mixed with the desire to smack someone (or several someones) upside the head (really hard). I am looking forward to more books in the series (and will be revisiting this bo0k and the others in the series because the books/series are so good). Bravo!!

Wow! Caitlyn O’Leary turns up the heat in Her Brace Warrior as we dive into Mateo’s story arc. I have always loved Mateo and I am so happy he finally gets his HEA, but it comes with a lot of suspense, action and drama that won’t be easy for him. In this next chapter of the Omega Sky team, terrorists are out to get the team! Mateo and his teammates fight against time to stop the threat and make sure them and their families are safe. In this journey, Mateo stumbles upon Lainey and has to navigate if she’s a threat or needs protection. During this struggle, Mateo falls hard for her and soon finds danger is at her doorstep too. From start to finish, this will be a page turner you won’t be able to put down. Can’t wait for her next book!

Mateo and Lainey are soooo cute together, although they meet under false pretenses. Mateo believes Lainey may be involved in something bad and he pretends to be someone else, a knight in shining armor, helping her out and being there when she needs him.
During this time Mateo sees what an amazing person she is, and how she would do anything for other people. Lainey sees what a sweet and loving person he can be. They fall in love and he knows that she could never be involved in anything bad; but when she finds out he's been lying to her she doesn't know if she'll ever be able to trust him again.
Of course like any good romance book there is a happy ending but you'll need to read it to see how it comes about, its definitely worth it.

What a fantastic story
I just loved Lainey and Mateo! The book gives a great back story to their lives so you know more about them and what is going on. At first ugh, Mateo was an absolute jerk, I wanted to slap him behind his head. But as he got to know Lainey, I loved how he got his head straightened.
Lainey is an absolute doll! She is brave, smart, and beautiful on the inside and outside. Her mom and sister, gah, they are horrible. In Laineys' backstory, you just want to slap them silly. Lainey just doesn't get any breaks. Between her mom and her co worker, you feel Laineys emotions.
But the story continues with who is the Kraken and you learn more about the organization.
I loved this book and am looking forward to the next book! Highly recommend this novel!

What should have been a social gathering where Mateo could spend some time with his teammates and their families takes a dramatic turn when they are attacked. Now the primary goal is to find out who is responsible and why, but he is conflicted when the investigation leads him to Lainey who appears to be guilty however his heart does not believe she can be responsible.
Lainey is facing challenges both when it comes to career and with her family. Mateo seems to be the one bright spot in her life however there is a lot about him that she does not know including the danger he is bringing into her life.
The intrigue keeps you on edge as the surprises continue to unfold as now Mateo must not only protect the team but Lainey as well as his heart depends on it.

This is book #6in the Omega Sky Series and let me tell you this book will definitely have you enthralled from the beginning until the end and sitting on the edge of your seat. It's compelling and captivating and tantalizing and suspenseful and action packed with Mateo and Laineys story. When someone tries to kill the Omega Sky's women and children and saved by Mateo and Braxton can they find out who us behind it before they strike again? I absolutely loved this book and omg it definitely has all the right feels and connects you to the characters emotions and Heartbreak. It's such a great story and very enjoyable read.
