Miss Talbot was made for mischief, and coincidentally Mr. Wynters could use a good lark. What happens, when a mischievous Lady’s companion and a wealthy gentleman with too many responsibilities, find one another under unforeseen circumstances?
Amelia Talbot was resigned to the idea of serving as a companion to the horrid Lady Brenton for the rest of her life. Her family’s ruin won’t allow her to dream of anything beyond that, but in the rare moments that she has to herself, Amelia nurtures a hope that life will hold more for her than the cards that have been dealt.
Ren Wynters was set on dutifully fulfilling his responsibilities as the oldest son and heir, caring for his mother and his two errant brothers, while frequently sacrificing his own desires in exchange for theirs. He cannot help but feel trapped in his circumstances, and wishes life held something more for him.
When an unexpected winter storm delays his plans, and a cunningly planned house party changes hers, Ren and Amelia are brought together, the two finding an easy friendship with one another. As feelings of friendship turn to something more during the Christmas season, they not only find themselves forgetting their troubles, but also experience the joy that can be found in realizing that the best gift of all is finding someone who brings out the best in you, and loves you for who you are.
“I fell in love with you my dear, for there was mischief in your beautiful eyes. Tis nothing wrong with a little bit of mischief.”
My first read by this author and I loved it! Miss Amelia Talbot is so bold and spunky. I love her! I love how much she takes Ren Wynters off guard. I found myself laughing out loud many times. They are both such teases. I loved their relationship; it is so fun and flirty. I love how Ren is her hero and comes to her rescue on multiple occasions. Regency house parties are always fun, and this book includes that along with the party games. I also liked the side romance going on with Mr. Bradbury and Miss Crocker. (I need more from them lol) Miss Crocker is a great character, she is American and does things differently and I love it. Overall, this is a great Christmas Regency with great humor, fun and romance. I definitely recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.
Content: kisses (including neck), man makes unwanted advances on a woman
“He reverently folded the piece of foolscap and placed it in his waistcoat pocket, the one closest to his heart. For he feared that the woman who had written the words, was slowly taking over his heart, much like the words that were meant for him.”
Charming, witty, and wholesome are just a few words to describe this delightful novella by Michelle. To be her first regency story, I’m still amazed at how beautifully she wrote it. It was a joy to beta read this story and see it unfold a little at a time! It made me love these characters even more!
Miss Amelia was a hoot! She was spunky, mischievous, bold and just a true delight. My heart went out to her with her backstory. But even though she endured hardships and was mistreated, she still held her head high and persevered. I loved that about her. And Ren!!! He is the gallant hero every girl dreams of. He was drawn to Amelia from their meet-cute and there was something about her he couldn’t resist. I loved their teasing and flirting. All the flirting!!! And their chemistry could set the pages on fire! Amelia loved to catch Ren off guard with her boldness, which made for some wonderful scenes. The sweetness between these two left me grinning so big and then laughing till I had tears.
The side characters were also entertaining! Mr. Bradbury and Miss Crocker had me laughing several times. Now I need to see more of the romance that was blooming between them!
Things I Loved: 🤍The meet-cute 🤍Lord Vanderbilt 🤍Cinnamon chocolate 🤍All the flirting 🤍Amelia’s song 🤍Cinnamon candy 🤍Ren’s rescues 🤍Hidden notes 🤍Miss Crocker 🤍Nicknames 🤍The cellar scene 🤍Snowball fight 🤍The library kiss…I may have reread it several times! 🤍And all the other kisses!!!! 🤍Blind Man’s Bluff 🤍The proposal

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own. 🤍
I have a lovely and fun read to tell you about today!! It’s the start of a new series and from this story I can tell it’s going to be so fun to read all of them. I loved the lighthearted feeling of this Christmas read that had plenty of fun banter, excellent characters and the most swoony love story. Ren and Amelia are characters you’ll wish were real because you’d like to spend more time with them. Their banter and conversations are delightful and will keep you smiling and laughing in turn. The side characters/villains were so good too and make the story even better. Challenges abound for this couple who find friendship and love in the most unexpected places. Definitely add this one to your Christmas TBR, it’s not to be missed 🎄
I received a complimentary ARC of this book from the author via BookFunnel. I am not required by anyone to write a positive review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.
“I do believe I just rescued a damsel in distress, does that make me your hero?” Ren said as he mockingly wagged his eyebrows in her direction, a smile pulling on one side of his mouth.”
This was a fun story that took me on quite the adventure. Amelia and Ren were lovable characters with big personalities. I loved the flirty banter, the teasing, and fun moments between them. They had me laughing, smiling and awwwing out loud.
Amelia is quirky, hilarious and spirited. She was a fun and unique heroine to read! Ren was such a sweet gentleman! I loved their meet cute, and the tender love struck moments.
This was a very sweet story that was unique and entertaining. There were some very fun side characters, mischievous moments, and touching romantic scenes.
I’m really enjoying this Christmas novella series!
Content: kisses only, some unwanted advances, cruel family and people, mistress mentioned
I give ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(6/5 stars) Beautiful, intelligent, clever, gracious Amelia Talbot has given in to the idea of serving as a companion to the horrid and snooty Lady Brenton for the rest of her life, due to her mother's terrible spending habits and her father's atrocious gambling debts. In the rare moments that she has to herself, Amelia does hope for so much more then from what life has dealt her so far. Responsible, Loyal, Heroic, Charming, Handsome Ren Wynters has been dutifully fulfilling his responsibilities as the oldest son and heir, caring for his mother and his two errant brothers since his father passed away. He can’t help but feel trapped in his circumstances, and wishes life held something more for him as well.
But, when an unexpected winter storm delays REN’s plans, and a cunningly planned house party changes Amelia’s plans, the two are brought together, and soon find a blossoming friendship with one another.
As feelings of friendship turn to something more during the Christmas season, both Amelia and Ren not only find themselves forgetting their troubles, but also experience the joy that can be found in realizing that “the best gift of all is finding someone who brings out the best in you, and loves you for who you are.”
“What I have found has given my heart a sanctuary, where it can reside for the rest of my days on this earth. That sanctuary is you, my love.”
Aww, thank you for this this heartwarming story Author Michelle Angus! It really is such a delightful story filled with such endearing relatable characters, humor, struggle, and resilience!! You can’t help but cheer on both Amelia and Ren, for they make such a great pair. They deserve just as much happiness as anyone else around them.
“I fell in love with you my dear, for there was mischief in your beautiful eyes. Tis nothing wrong with a little bit of mischief.”
Ahhhhhhhh! Such a good book! I read this book as an ARC, and all these amazing thoughts are my own. Ren and Amelia had me giggling like a little girl and jumping up and down like I had too much eggnog! I felt for Amelia and her circumstances because of a horid parent. I understood the stress of an older sibling wanting to watch over his younger brothers and make sure they turn out well as he feels the weight of the world on his shoulders. When these two older siblings meet each other, it is like fire on a winter night. So cozy! While they seem to be from two different worlds at first, they both start helping each other.
Michelle is an amazing author, and I just wanted to ignore all my responsibilities and only read this book!! It was sooo good!! Read it! Trust me, you want this book!! What an incredible book by and incredible author!! Merry Christmas!!!
“The next thing he heard was a voice as angelic as the cherubs painted on the ceiling above. He opened his eyes and slowly sat up, resting his elbows on his knees, his chin on his hands, entranced by the the woman before him. It was if she were a siren, and he, a sailor at sea, her voice calling to his spirit, beckoning him closer.”
There are many words to describe this wonderful book. I would describe it as lovely, humorous, and amusing! I couldn’t put the book down. It was happy to see that Michelle connected Ren and Amelia together so soon.
Amelia was hilarious. She was indeed mischievous, spunky, and a sweet soul! Now, Ren was charming, a flirt (ok they both were in their own ways), funny, good-spirited, and every girl’s dream come true! Their teasing and flirting made me smile and laugh. They were the best couple. They complimented each other so well.
🩷The nicknames, the stables- her white stallion, Lord Vanderbilt, the songs, the kisses 😍, the icicle and snowball fight, the notes, the secondary characters, the slaps, and more.
First Christmas book of the year!! Ever since I was little, Christmas has always been my favorite time of year. I was so excited when I found out Michelle Angus was writing a Christmas book! I adored her book, Meet Me at the Corner. She has outdone herself again with this sweet Christmas story!
Mischief for Christmas was the perfect read for Christmas. The characters were well written, the romance was adorable, and the humorous moments were so enjoyable! This is the kind of book that will have you smiling constantly.
The best part of this book was the romance. Amelia and Ren were the sweetest book couple. Their banter was hilarious from the moment they met! I love how they started as accidental acquaintances to friends to a beautiful Christmas romance.
Mischief For Christmas is the perfect combination of Christmas, humor, cinnamon role hero, lovable heroine, CUTE nicknames, and so much more. Please make sure to get yourself a copy of this book! Just a warning: You will read this book in one sitting because it’s too good to put down!
First off, the character index at the front of this book was such a helpful touch! It was so easy to refer back and remind myself who everyone was and their roles in the story. And can we talk about Amelia and Ren? They were absolutely endearing, and their nicknames had my heart melting!
Amelia, resigned to her role as companion to the insufferable Lady Brenton due to her family's downfall, never dared to dream of more. Ren, the dutiful eldest son, was determined to shoulder his responsibilities, sacrificing his own desires. But when a winter storm derails their plans and brings them together at a house party, their lives take a delightful turn.
Their meeting was the sweetest, and their friendship blossomed into something truly special. Amidst their shared moments, they found joy in realizing that the greatest gift is discovering someone who loves you as you are and inspires you to be your best self. One line that melted me? "I fell in love with you, my dear, for there was mischief in your beautiful eyes. Tis nothing wrong with a little bit of mischief." 🥰
I can’t wait to dive into A Flower for Mr. Wynters next and follow Nate, Ren's brother, on his journey.
This was a fantastic Christmas Novella! Everything you could want in a sweet Christmas story tied up nicely with a bow. I was smiling and swooning throughout this read!
Miss Amelia Talbot has to become a ladies made due to the ruin and scandal her parents land her in. She is with an awful awful family, The Brenton’s. Lady Brenton is so unkind, but her son Georgie is revolting and his later plans are just horrendous!
Amelia feels she has no hope, but when Ren Wynters happens upon the Brenton home that changes. I cherished his instant kindness and the connection they share.
Love this story for: 🧣Adorable Meet Cute 🧣Hilarious Witty Banter 🧣Nicknames 🧣Snowball fights, swordplay with icicles, and slipping on ice! 🧣Frosty’s Song 🧣Cinnamon 🧣Their Kiss 🧣When he Defends/Protects her!
Absolutely loved this read. Thank you so much Michelle Angus for having me on the team and for the ARC copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Sweet regency Christmas novella full of banter and a healthy dose of mischief. Amelia has been forced to become a lady’s companion after the reckless spending of her parents lands her father in debtors prison and separates her from the rest of her family as her brothers are sent off to sea for work and her mother selfishly to her sisters to continue to enjoy a wealthy lifestyle. After a winter storm forced Ren to seek out refuge at a nearby estate he is introduced to Amelia and his life changes forever. Loved all the mischief Amelia and Ren got up to and how protective he was of her! And I can’t wait to read the stories of the other Wynters family! This novella was part of a multi author series but it is also the intro into a new series by Michelle Angus!
Amelia and Ren’s story is so cute and funny. Their teasing is hilarious and the sweet moments of heroism are to die for! Such a cute Christmas novella. The nicknames Amelia gives to the Brenton’s are hilarious and it continues by Ren and Amelia giving each other nicknames. There’s snow and icicles too. I also love Amelia’s new acquaintances she meets and the Christmas Day scene is so cute! I loved the epilogue and can’t wait for Nate’s story!! Thank you Author Michelle Angus for an arc! All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Amelia has a twinkle in her eyes- most of the time-minus her time with her employers. One could call it mischievous. Ren began acquainted with her, as he went to rescue her from a rogue. But was he a rogue? This is a cute story. Very enjoyable read.
I throughly enjoyed the whole story. I don't think that I have read any of this author before but I hope to find her again even if just to find out about these new neighbors that have ruffled Nates quiet world!
A fun and flirty Christmas novella! An unexpected snow storm and an uncomfortable house party conspire to bring Amelia and Ren together. I loved their instant chemistry and playfulness. Amelia is spunky and bold, despite past hardships, and Ren is kind and responsible with a good sense of humor (and has excellent taste in sweets - I highly recommend adding cinnamon to your hot chocolate). It's the perfect story to warm your heart!
After her family’s ruin, Miss Amelia Talbot is forced to endure a life of service. Trapped as Lady Brenton’s ill-treated companion, she longs for the life she once knew, a life that is her own.
Ren Wynters has the weight of family responsibilities on his shoulders. Wishing for a life of his own, he feels trapped under immense pressure to make sure his mother and brothers are taken care of.
Who knew being snowed in during a Christmas house party would change both their lives?
This is a delightful Regency Christmas story. Amelia and Ren have such a fun and flirty relationship. Amelia brings joy and laughter into Ren’s stuffy life. A breath of fresh air and mischief, Amelia enjoys keeping Ren on his toes and he can’t get enough. You’ll be laughing and smiling throughout and melting from the swoony kisses.
I received an advance free copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Mischief for Christmas de Michelle Angus
Argumento:
Disfruté Mischief For Christmas.
A fun Christmas story with lots of cinnamon kisses! This book follows the playful romance between a man and woman of different social stations who fall in love, making mischief for Christmas.
What could be more touching than a young man coming to the rescue of a struggling young lady? Due to her reckless father and selfish mother, she needs a hero.
Each evening I eagerly awaited continuing to read this book. I found the story extremely interesting, light, and very entertaining. It as it quickly moved from scene to scene. It is a delightful cozy read!
What a delightful, fun read! Michelle Angus is quickly becoming a favorite author. Her sparkling, funny sense of humor shines in her books and makes them such a joy to read.
Mischief For Christmas was an enjoyable Regency romp set during Christmas time with all those amazing English traditions. The romance was a delicious blend of romantic tension and witty banter/flirting. It’s the perfect book to curl up with during a snowstorm with a mug of cinnamon hot chocolate in hand. 😉
Amelia is a down on her luck lady now forced to be a lady’s companion to an ogre of a woman with a leering son who’s often too close for comfort. She dreams of more, but with her family’s ruin her dreams seem unlikely. When a snowstorm traps a handsome gentleman at the manor, Amelia’s luck may have just changed.
Ren finds himself a surprise guest at a Christmas house party when a storm prevents him from traveling home. He quickly becomes enamored with a mischievous lady’s companion who delights him at every turn. But, will his family responsibilities prevent him from seeing her again?
I loved Amelia & Ren! They were such a fun couple. Amelia is full of the best kind of mischief. Ren is a swoony gentleman through and through. I loved the nicknames, their meetcute with Lord Vanderbilt, all the cinnamon, the library scene, Ren constantly rescuing Amelia, Amelia’s beautiful song, the Christmas games & activities, and the ending. I also adored the side characters. Loved the American Miss Crocker especially, and would love to get her story.
If you’re looking for a laugh out loud, romantic, clean Regency Christmas romance, highly recommend! The novella length is perfect for the busy holiday season and can easily be read in a day. It’s part of the Once Upon a Christmas Snowstorm series, but each book is meant to be read as a standalone. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author but also purchased it through KU. All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided.
"Amelia was in trouble...Amelia was trouble. What had her mischief gotten her into this time?"
Mischief, it's a word that has mixed feeling for me, and I was worried there would be too much mischief happening in this Christmas romance. I was completely wrong though. I loved every minute of mischief that Amelia and Ren created and found themselves in throughout this DELIGHTFUL Christmas romance.
In this entertaining addition to the multi-author Once Upon a Christmas Storm series you will find witty characters with all the spark. The banter, the charm, the magic of the Christmas season all come together and give you quite the adventure. Amelia and Ren's romance is an adventure and so much fun. Get ready for the mischief, laughs, nicknames and all the swoony kisses in this Cinderella/Christmas vibe romance. It is all there for the reader to take in, enjoy and swoon over. Michelle Angus just doing her writers magic over here and giving the reader a delightful experience.
*I received an advanced ecopy from the publisher/author and all opinions are my own.
What is it about Regency Christmas stories? They give me all the holiday feels and I love it!
Amelia is resigned to being miserable as a companion to a cantankerous old woman, but when a snowstorm brings an unexpected guest, she dare not hope for a different life even as she beings to fall in love.
Ren was not expecting to be stuck in a snowstorm or seek refuge at the estate of an old school chum, but he most definitely was not expecting to meet the beautiful and friendly Amelia who quickly captured his heart. But it will take more than feelings to rescue Amelia from the situation she is trapped in.
What to love: Regency era Dual POV Whirlwind romance Damsel in Distress Snowball fight The song The flirting and kisses! The happily-ever-after
This one had lots of moments that made me laugh out loud - I love quirky heroines! The fun plot, the cute romance and the fun side characters kept me invested in the story - I just had to know how Ren and Amelia were going to get their happily ever after!!
I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.
Amelia is kind of an angel for putting up with the lady she works for, but especially his son. He is horrible. I loved the way she was able to keep her spunky attitude when she had to deal with their ill treatment.
Luckily for Amelia, Ren comes to visit. From their very first meeting there is chemistry between the two of them. I loved the way Ren sees Amelia, even though she's just a Lady's Companion. He never looks down on her as others do. In fact, he goes out of his way to help her in any way he can.
There are so many great characters in this book. And so many fun scenes. I especially like the one in the library.
You'll need to grab your own copy of this one.
I was sent an e-copy of Mischief for Christmas from the author. All opinions are my own.
DNF The heroine is talking with a gentleman that she's recently met about the numbness of her bum. Um, nope that does not fit the Regency setting of this book when such things would never have been a topic of discussion. I realize that authors sometimes use a Period setting rather loosely, but seeing this at the beginning of the book didn't inspire confidence. I tried skimming through a little bit but still could not get into this book at all. The other books in this series are cute and sweet but I suggest anyone wanting a more realistic period piece should skip this one.
Romance - Sweet and Clean Language - None Violence - None
This is a cute Christmas time romance. If you're looking for a light, easy read, this is a good one. It could be read whenever, as Christmas isn't an overarching theme to the story, but Winter definitely is.
The witty teasing and banter between the 2 main characters is fun and lighthearted, but I was not a fan of the nickname aspect. It honestly didn't add anything to the story.
I did enjoy this story, though, and I would read another by this author.
friends to lovers holiday romance closed door romance
Mischief for Christmas wrapped me in laughter fun and holiday sparkle that I did not expect to end so soon. The banter between the lead characters had me smiling and the cozy Christmas setting made the whole story feel like a warm holiday hug. Their budding romance felt gentle sweet and full of hope beneath all the festive mischief. It is a lighthearted festive romance that left me feeling cheerful and cozy.
