Radim Malinic is a creative director and designer living and working in South West London. He runs Brand Nu, a multidisciplinary award winning studio.

Before finding his calling in the creative industry, Czech born Malinic was an ice hockey player, a bassist in death metal bands, an indie DJ, music journalist and student of Economics and Business management. At the break of the new millennium, Malinic moved to the UK to explore the expansive music scene, only to find even a greater interest in art and graphic design. Since then his eclectic interests have seen him working with some of the biggest brands, companies and bands in the world. Aside from his studio work, Radim designs products for his brand ‘November Universe’, he releases music and tours globally with his talk designed to inspire and support self-development in the creative industry.

In March 2016, Malinic released his latest publication, Book of Ideas. The #1 Amazon bestseller has helped novices and professionals across the world to find a new way of approaching their creative work.

Author Radim Malinic shares his advice on dealing with internal obstacles, suggesting that you define your version of “enough,” identify your “magic formula”, and determine your “personal best.” These philosophies speak to the heart and soul of creatives.

But Malinic balances philosophy with practical advice on external obstacles, including: promoting yourself, dealing with clients, getting paid on time, and managing your own time, so you don’t end up a fried, frazzled, burned-out mess. He shares stories of working full-time and in freelance capacities, earning the your trust through his hard-earned experience.

The tone of Malinic’s writing is warm and positive, but he isn’t a Pollyanna—instead, he’s refreshingly honest. One of my favorite examples: In talking about the value of awards, he talks about how award-winning restaurants in the UK have walls plastered with awards that are seemingly meaningless to the everyday person, as “the food keeps us coming back, not the awards.”

I finished reading Creativity for Sale in the morning, and it made me hungry to take on my day.

I just finished reading Creativity for Sale by Radim Malinic, and it was an excellent experience! The content of the book was refreshing and insightful. It was wonderful to have so much valuable information consolidated in one place. Even though I was familiar with some of the concepts in theory, the way Radim presented them was engaging and practical.

As I'm currently going through a rebrand, this book felt like a trusted companion throughout the process. It provided me with the motivation and clarity I needed to move forward confidently. Radim’s unique approach to creativity and business is both engaging and applicable, making this a must-read for anyone in the creative industry.

Highly recommend Creativity for Sale to fellow creatives looking to elevate their business and creative endeavors!

MUST READ for any creative looking to earn money from their craft, especially brilliant for those just starting out or transitioning into a new chapter or field.

Radim’s writing is wise and insightful, witty and invaluable.

The book itself is beautiful and the design inside, broken up with heading and subtitles which makes it easier to read and navigate (especially for anyone who is overwhelmed by pages and pages of text).

I read this, then read it again, then bought it for a friend. I highly recommend and especially in tandem with Radim’s book ‘Mindful Creative’, with the pair you would be unstoppable!

Genuinely feels like a year’s worth of career coaching on starting/growing a creative business. Pep talks, resilience talks, money talks, reality talks, etc to come back to in moments of struggle. That said, for all the big ideas to fire you up it’s also full of the practicalities: finances, strategy, onboarding clients, naming, networking, insurance, right down to specific business tools/software. Great balance.

There’s a lot in there but also somehow quite easily digestible, I burned through it in handful of extended sittings. Defo recommend, felt like I came away with much broader, more realistic understanding of running a creative business. Now, time to put it to work 😬

It’s everything I wanted… I was always stuck on how I can offer my creativity as a service and this doesn’t just do that. It really made me think about the whole picture from branding to approach.

My book currently have lots of highlights and annotations. Definitely a book I will be going back to over and over again. Great read!

As a small creative agency founder, the way that Radim writes just speaks to me. His words are easy to understand and are 100% relatable. After reading this, I no longer feel alone on the end of a branch. I feel empowered and more knowledgable in some business foundations that I was for sure struggling with.
