📚 Book Review 📚 Danger for a Duchess By Nellie H. Steele ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is book four in the Duchess of Blackmoore Mystery Series and is proving to be even more intriguing and mysterious as the saga continues. As Lenora and Edwin ponder a solution to the tragic entrapment of their friend Tilly’s spirit and her daughter Sarah’s disturbing sleep problem, Lenora receives a message that her father has suddenly died. Lenora and her family travel to the village of Glenrock, where her father lived, to make arrangements to attend to several matters concerning his death. Soon after arriving, Lenora and Robert soon learn that her father was brutally murdered and a police investigation is underway for the persons responsible. Lenora’s special ability does not seem to work as her father does not communicate with her from beyond the grave. Lenora and Edwin decide to investigate the murder to find the killer. Finding themselves at a dead end, Edwin decides to accept an invitation to a small private party, hosted by Lady Worthington, a woman renowned as a psychic, and the opportunity to join a seance presents itself, hoping to contact Tilly and with the added benefits of making some welcoming new friends and identifying hidden enemies. Lenora also learns that two special guests, Lady Catherine and Marcus Northcott, Duke of Staffordshire, also known to possess supernatural abilities, will attend. Also among the guests, is Lord Reed and his wife Dorothy, with whom Lenora shares a common bond for the love of books with the Lord and he later proves pivotal in Lenora’s survival. Danger for a Duchess was a well-written, suspenseful, paranormal mystery with plot twists that will keep you on the edge of your chair. The intercharacter relationships were well-developed and highly entertaining. The story was an emotional roller-coaster hitting all the right buttons from laughing out loud to crying and everything in between. The plot has a high level of tension and suspense, and the reader may need help in determining good from evil as the storyline progresses. I also found the plot clever and witty, with some unexpected characters taking a pivotal role I did not expect. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone seeking a fantastic, paranormal mystery with fabulous characters. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Readers Copy
What a great storyline! To be able to fit characters together from other books the author has written takes talent and Nellie’s H. Steele does it flawlessly. I SO look forward to her next book in this series. This book was filled with angst, humor, trusts, twists and turns so it was never boring. Highly recommend any of this author’s books! Great reading!
I am not quite sure how our heroes actually accomplished anything, because they seemed to be constantly being woken up instead of sleuthing. And the introduction of the evil Agency, time travel, and warlocks makes it feel like I wandered into a book that could not decide if it was a dectective story, or a gothic mystery, or a ghost story, or a fantasy, or science fiction.
More supernatural abilities are introduced as friends from the future arrive to rescue Lenora. This is a bit disappointing as it detracts from Lenora’s wit and talent for saving herself and solving mysteries. It is preferable for Edwin, Robert, and Lenora to resolve relationships and challenges together for this reader.
I enjoyed the chuckles reading the sparring dialog between Leonora and Edwin and between the two Fletchers. A little humor helped offset some of the darkness surrounding the Duchess.
Another wonderful story, full of suspense and the supernatural. I always enjoy crossover characters, as well. I highly recommend this author and look forward to more of her books! Well done!
I loved the ghost mystery solving aspect of this series, but I feel like it got hijacked and switched to a fantasy series instead of a mystery series. I love the characters so I’ll keep up with the series, but I wish it didn’t change so dramatically.

Enjoyable read about Leon or as adventurous life!!!!
I absolutely enjoyed the book, the only part that was disappointing was the current reminder that a agency was after them. I enjoyed the book but I wish the ending was more..
