Yet another awesome addition to the Starlite Mysteries! ⭐️4/5🥳
I was absolutely thrilled by "Haunted," penned by the dynamic duo @rayandmichelefraser . It's not just an enthralling paranormal tale but also a delightful exploration of a man's evolution as a conduit to the supernatural. What makes it even more fascinating is its basis in real-life events. That's precisely why I couldn't put it down; the story had me hooked from start to finish!
The interactions with spirits, in particular, had me at the edge of my seat, making this a truly captivating read.
If you like this, do check out other entries in the series as well. You can pick any one of them as they are connected not by story but by theme, which I find really interesting.

I would call this a cozy paranormal murder mystery novella with an unlikely hero. Brett, living his normal life, unlocks paranormal skills he had no idea he had. With the haunted house on his mind, Brett goes on a journey of self discovery and self awareness. This is an easy wee read that has a good level of intrigue to keep the pages turning. Will Brett be able to help Judy or will he succumb to a darker evil? You will have to check this one out to find out!
I love reading this duos novellas! It takes me out of my comfort zone, and I really enjoy them. This one was great for spooky season👻
Brett is a salesman who lives a normal life, but when Judy approaches him about her haunted house, he wonders if he may have what it takes to help. Can he get to the bottom of what's causing the loud banging and the strange images around the house? And there's also a ceramic owl that keeps being moved overnight. Will Judy and her family ever get any peace, or will they be forced to move out?
This was a quick read and extremely entertaining. It was full of mystery and spookiness. I thought the storyline was great, and the authors did a great job writing it. I would definitely recommend this, especially if you're looking for a good short story.
First of all, I want to thank Ray and Michele Fraser for the opportunity to read this ARC.
For me, I will rate this book between 3.5 and 4 stars.
It is a short story regarding a Salesman who found his calling when he found some Tarot Card in his colleague's house.
It was a cozy paranormal read. Whenever people hear that there are paranormal activities in a book, they think it might contain some horror element. But no, it didn't contain any horror element. It was more inclined toward the investigative genre.
The story and concept are really great for a short story. If you want to read a story that has some world-building or character-building this book is not for you. There are some decisions made by the MC that were confusing to me.
Join Brett in his journey to a haunted house where he discovers more about himself than he ever expected. What began as an interest in a haunted house turned into communicating with a spirit through Tarot cards, seqnce circles, and finding closure so he can finally pass on and leave the family in this house in peace. Brett learns that he can help people in a way that he never thought was possible.
This story was interesting and I really enjoyed the fact that even though he didn't know the people, he made it his mission to help them. Check out this next installment in the Starlite Mysteries by Ray and Michele Fraser.
First of all I want to say a big thanks to Rya for his trust and making me part of his team. Haunted was a great spooky book that was perfect for the Halloween season. I really enjoyed it. I would definitely like for there to be a sequel and read more of Breet's adventures.
It was something new for me to read English book but it was sow easy for me and I read it very quickly.
One haunted house one ghost and Breet who tries to solve the mystery. a suspenseful mystery book that you can't put down.
First I want to say thank you to ray and Michelle Fraser for the earc of this. I really enjoyed this short novella, like all of the other novella I’ve read by ray and Michelle this one was quick and spooky it didn’t take long for action and the spookiness to start and it kept me enthralled the whole time following a norma salesman Brett and his friend barb trying to save someone from a haunting.
Haunted was a quick and easy read, exactly what I would want out of a novella. Brett is a caring sales man that wants to help people, but I wish we would’ve learned more about why he was so invested in helping a family he didn’t know.
I’ve always loved paranormal stories and shows so the fact that this novella is inspired by a true story makes me even more intrigued & I want to know the real story!
✨I was fortunate to receive an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review✨
Paranormal activity? Seances? Tarot card reading? Yes please! Could there be a better book to read two weeks before Halloween?! By now, you all know I love a good ghost story and this didn’t disappoint! If you’re looking for a quick, (about an hour) mysterious, spooky and fun read, this is your book! A big thank you to the authors for an ARC copy of this book as well as bookfunnel!
Brett was just living a normal life, when one of his co-workers tells him that her house was haunted. Brett, being the outstanding guy he is, offers to help her out. Was he just in the right place at the right time? Or did Judy see something in him that even he doesn’t?
Once Brett enters the house, he begins to realize that sinister things are at works, and its no wonder Judy and her family are desperate for help. Will Brett be able to figure out the reason for the haunting? Or will he get scared away?
This is the new addition to the Starlite Mystery books by Ray and Michele Fraser. This book fits perfectly with the others. The book sucked me into the action right from the beginning which is much needed with a short story. I loved reading about Brett and his run in with a haunted house. Sometimes, when we’re doing something we’re afraid of, we learn more about ourselves then we thought, and that is exactly the case here. The writing is again top notch and exactly what I have come to expect from this writing duo. Brett was such a well rounded and developed character, which is again quite the feet for a book coming in at about 58 pages. I also really appreciated the lengths that Brett was willing to help others, even those he didn’t really know. He is such a great guy, and I loved reading this story about him.
Thank you so much to Ray and Michele Fraser for sending me a copy of this one to review. All thoughts are my own.
Haunted is the newest addition to the Starlite Supernatural Mystery series. This short novella is written by the Fraser team of Michele and Ray. I have read a few of their cozy mysteries and love them.
This paranormal murder mystery follows Brett, the book's main character, as he discovers new fascinating things about himself and the world around him. Brett is just your average everyday salesman. Curiosity strikes, and he goes on a road to self-discovery. Who would have thought tarot cards were his jam? Brett soon learns he has a wonderful intuition regarding the cards. The cards unlock a side of Brett he was unaware existed. When Brett hears of a haunted house, he jumps at the chance to help the owners free themselves of the entity that is causing chaos. Through tarot and seance, he uncovers more than he was expecting. This simple haunting has turned into a murder mystery that he must solve to give both the residence and the ghost peace.
This was a fun short read. As a collector of tarot, it was nice to see it used in a book! The book is fast-paced and clever. This one had a wonderful mixture of spooky themes and mystery. The timing of the twists and turns was great. I was caught up in the story and didn’t want it to end.
Thank you to Ray & Michele Fraser for gifting me an eArc copy of Haunted. I am leaving this review voluntarily. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
🎃𝘉𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘵 works as a salesman for a major office equipment manufacturer. He is a tarot cards reader and can sense things happening or have happened around him.
🎃One day, on working hours he bumps into Judy.
🎃Judy lives with her husband Dylan and her kids. Their house is haunted and that's what she says to Brett.
🎃Charles Summer was murdered in the basement of the house. Judy and her family have witnessed some paranormal activities in the house. She asks Brett to help her out.
🎃Brett is interested in the case and to solve the mystery he has his friend Barb with him.
💀What is up with the haunted house? Who killed Charles? Will Brett find out the lost puzzle to the mystery?? Find it out by reading💀
I enjoyed reading this book🩷 Till the end I wouldn't suspect who was the killer and what the ghost was upto😭 I loved the paranormal scenes from the book especially the ones where the ghost was responding to the questions through various signs🫧 The book is fast paced, I was expecting more of it✨
I recommend this book to everyone, especially the ones who are a great fan of spooky and mystery reads👻
Thankyou @rayandmichelefraser for sending the e-ARC 🩷
So by now you may all know that scary readings are not my cup of tea but let me tell how surprisingly different was this one.
First of all the horror was like real but so well worked that the agony carried you away so much that you didn't have time to realize that you were afraid. And if that is not impressing then what!
So Let me tell you some things about the plot no spoilers at all.
Brett's life seemed to be well organised and settled. He had his job, his friends, his daily routine. Till that day. The day he attended a discussion about a haunted house. He actually was the one that learned the information even though he couldn't understand why he was chosen. Beside this, some days after and while he was just planning to have dinner at his colleague's, Barb, he accidentally found a deck of Tarot cards only to find out he is having an innate talent in reading and interpretting them. One thing brings the other, the plot evolves, spiritualism and spirits involved and this #pageturner story succeses to keep the reader's interest undiminished page by page.
Enjoyed the plot, the characters, the action. The dark secrets and the story inside the story that lead to a cliffhanger that was vivid till the last page. Highly enjoyed highly recommended.
I received this book as an arc and I am more than happy to write my honest review.
This is the 6th (is it the 6th one already???) book in the Starlite Mysteries series from the super awesome author couple, Ray and Michele Fraser. So, the 6th book. Each is a stand-alone, although they all do have a teeny tiny something in common. There is one thing I’d like to point out and what I saw most of all while reading this book today: it is how much those two have grown as authors. While the previous books were good also, this one feels slightly different. Like, it feels mature in some way, writing-style-wise. Writing in this one feels way more confident. Writing in this one feels unapologetic and strong. The story is different also. As always, it can be seen and felt that the authors are very familiar with what they are talking about. Tarot cards? Yup. They know what they are talking about. A ghost? They give a very believable way to communicate with it and find out what really happened. If you have ever worked with a medium, then this is it. it shines through this book. What I see here: they have fused their imagination with their experience. And the result is here, and it’s nice. The ending is somewhat bittersweet though. It is sad, but there is a closure.
I enjoyed a short story about a young man leaning of his supernatural connections and helping to solve a haunted house mystery! This was a fast read and was actually full of interesting information about tarot cards and séances. If you aren’t into believing into those things it still is a little fun to read about. I love a mystery and it’s October so it’s perfect for a 👻 story!
Thanks to @rayandmichelefraser for allowing me to read and review this story! And thanks to my sweet friend @inkoffate for referring me as an ARC reader! 🧡

Full disclosure, this is not my kind of read. I don't believe in ghosts or tarot readings or mediums or any of that, but I figured I would push myself out of my comfort zone for spooky season and decided to read this one, and let me just say, it didn't disappoint!
I was engrossed in the mystery of the house and wanted to know what had happened to the poor soul trapped in this house. Who doesn't love a little ghost drama? Most of the characters were relatable and likeable and i loved the vivid description of the location and really felt like I was in a creepy house or icy road in Michigan.
This story really took me back to the days when I used to religiously watch Ghost Hunters on tv every year for Halloween 😆
Overall, this was a super fast read and although I thought it would be scary, if a wimp like me can handle it, anyone can. Loved it, 5 stars all around.
Haunted was an interesting short story that focused on figuring out why a spirit was haunting a house and a way to make it leave. So it was not only a paranormal story but it also was a mystery. Why was the spirit so upset and why was it haunting that particular house?
Brett tells the story in the past tense, so you know he winds up being just fine. He has realized that he has a natural affinity for interpreting tarot cards, even though he’s a real beginner with them. So when he hears about the haunted house, he hopes he can help the family living there.
This was my first read from these authors and I enjoyed it very much. If you like paranormal stories that aren’t particularly scary, this one is a good one to try. It is part of their Starlite Supernatural Mystery series but it was perfect as a standalone story.
Thank you to the authors for the opportunity to read an advance readers copy of this story. All opinions are my own.
Haunted centers around Brett a normal guy with a normal sales job living his like 9-5 existence. Brett is drawn into the super natural by a sheer run in encoubter that shows him he is a natural. Brett's talent is noticed and shared by others and he is asked to help a young family who is dealing with disturbances in their home that they believe is haunted. I loved Brett's gusto and how he just knew he had to help. I also love his approach, he doesn't seem to have fear.
This was a quick and fun read. It is perfect for spooky season and gave me Goosebumps or Scary Stories you tell in the Dark Vibes. I have read other short stories by the authors and I love that over all their main characters are "good guys", willing to help and are totally free from judgement. Maybe one day we will get a Brett back story.
A shout- out to Ray and Michele in appreciation for the ARC of this book.
This is the first book of theirs I have read and I'm so interested in reading other books written by them. ...
Haunted was the perfect book to bring me out of my slump! It's a novella, fast paced with the right among of mystery - 👀and it's written from a real life incident.
As a Muslim I do not believe in tarot cards, ghosts, seances and all. However this has nothing to do with the review of this book.
I enjoyed every bit of it. I do wish we had more character development for Brett. The seance scenes were mind-blowing! Definitely different from any other seance situations I've heard of.
If you love a quick spooky read based on haunted houses, tarot cards reading, seances - this is perfect for you.
I am absolutely blown away with how much of a story I was able to get out of so few pages. I wasn't expecting much from a short story as I feel like they tend to be more of a teaser than an actual story.
There was a full blown story and I was hooked from the start. I thought it was really cool how Ray & Michele draw on their lived experiences with the spirit world to write their books.
I definitely think that mediums and people who can connect with the other side exist. I think it would be really cool to be able to learn that skill.
Anyway, I thought the story was great and it didn't feel rushed or any of the other quams I typically have with short stories.
A perfectly paranormal novella for this spooky season! Haunted was a quick and captivating read. I loved the story of this haunted house and the mystery of finding out what happened to the spirit tormenting its current owners. I was drawn to reading about Brett and his journey to learning how to communicate and help spirits who haven’t passed on to the other side. The Fraser’s once again do a great job creating characters and settings that you can really get connect with in the time it takes to finish the story. This was an easy 5 star read for me. I loved this fast, fun read and look forward to the next of the Starlite Mysteries!
As always, another great story! Haunted is the newest Starlite Mystery and as always, it sucks you in and keeps you within the first few pages. Brett was living an average life when someone tells him her house is haunted. As most people would not believe in ghost or hauntings, he decided to check it out. Immediately he noticed a sinister feeling in the home. But the big question was if he would follow through and help, or get scared and leave?? If you haven't read any of the Starlite Mysteries, I would highly recommend picking them all up when you're in a spooky mood, reading slump, or just want to knock something out quick! As always these stories never disappoint!
In this book we got to see the main character go on his journey discovering the paranormal world while trying to help out a family whose house is haunted. This was a great quick read for the spooky season! Especially if you love books with paranormal elements (I definitely do!).
Overall the story was very good and the plot was fast paced with no cliffhangers, so no waiting or patience test. Phew....... The mc of the novel was just like me, likes to go head-to-head with problems and regret it later. Hehe.... So a journey with him through the haunted house is really fun and scary at the same time. If you're interested in tarot reading, spiritual mediumship, etc - you should really give this novella a read.
A spooky mystery novella, just in time for the Halloween season! This has a ton of Haunted Mansion/ Ghostbuster vibes and I’m loving it. It touches on Spirituality from a few angles, and is a traditional ghost story in that it includes skepticism and warnings from priests, mentions of the devil, etc. but presents the practice of seance and “haunting” in a more positive light. So if you need a quick read and are in the mood for some light, spooky vibes, give Haunted a read!
I was given this ebook for an honest review! This was a cute novella just in time for Halloween. I love little novellas and they are fun to read between other books! It was a quick short read and entertaining. I honestly love any books that include a haunted house in them! I also loved the whole spirit and tarot card vibes. If you love a quick, spooky & haunted house short story… this is for you!
Ray and Michele do not disappoint. I could not put this book down. It left me wanting to know more. I’m a big fan of haunted houses and was very intrigued with this story. I honestly didn’t see the story going the way it did. I actually felt as if I was there. I felt all the emotions the characters felt. I’m still in awe at the story and cannot wait until their next book!!
Ray and Michele never fail, i have read a few books now out of their Starlite Mystery collection and i got to read their new one Haunted. And what to say, it was a thrilling read, if you like Ghosts, tarot cards and some spooky mystery just like me, this is for you. I also love that it's a fast read. It's really a enjoyable read. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
