This book makes it clear that, like all relationships, our relationship with money can be treated with care and nurtured without judgement. The stories and lessons are a good reminder that we are in the driver seat and fully capable of being so. They are relatable, empowering, and actionable. I wish I had financial insight earlier in my own story, but am finishing this book looking forward to effecting change in my own life.

I know that with another re-read (or two) I'll continue to keep unearthing more about my relationship with money and am looking forward to it. Highly recommend.

Financial Insight: Be the Author of Your Life Story” by Jodi Carter is a personal guidebook to help you understand and live with money in a positive way. This insightful, practical guide deals with money issues in a way that is more about you as a person than it is about numbers. Everyone handles money differently, and this book addresses that in a wonderful way that most people can relate to. It doesn’t lump people’s spending habits or saving habits into one basket, which readers will appreciate. The book covers how we spend, why we spend, and perhaps most importantly, your relationship with money. What does it mean to you? How do you choose to spend it?

Carter conveys these concepts about money in a way that will make people wish they’d read this book a long time ago. Concepts like money equaling success and your self-worth can be tied to how much money you have or don’t have. You’ve heard of “keeping up with the Joneses.” This is just one reason some people get into financial trouble. This happens when your values become misdirected. The author leads you to ask important personal finance questions such as, “How do you define success?” “Do you think about each transaction before you spend it, or do you spend impulsively?”

No matter where you are on your financial journey in life, this wonderful book can help you see money, and yourself, in a new way, so that you can write or rewrite your own personal story. Even if you’ve made mistakes, the advice in this book can help you turn things around. I love the positivity in this book. So much stress, guilt, and blame can be attached to money, especially when you find yourself in a sticky situation. But thank goodness, you can find a way out of financial quicksand.

This expert advice is priceless, and a resource you’ll want to use from here out. You’ll learn to stop self-sabotage, set goals, and become more financially independent. The self-help aspect of this book can’t be overstated. It could actually be the saving grace for many struggling people. Thanks to “Financial Insight: Be the Author of Your Life Story” by Jodi Carter, financial freedom can be a concrete reality in your life.
