Chloe Watts He’s my brother’s best friend and he saved me. Now he says I’m his and he takes care of me in a way you wouldn’t expect from a ruthless mafia boss. He also disciplines me when I’m naughty and makes me call him Daddy. Do I want another man controlling my entire life? I’m just not so sure he’ll let me go even if I wanted to.
Bash Gilroy I’ve had feelings for her for years, but I kept my distance because of who she is. When I finally get the blessing I never expected, my feelings for her become an overpowering obsession. I live and breathe to keep her happy and safe. There are no boundaries when it comes to her. And I’ll do anything to make her mine forever
Kate Oliver has aspired to be an author all her life. From the time she was known as "that girl who always has her nose stuck in a book", Kate Oliver has wanted to be a writer. Currently, fetish romance is her favorite for both reading and writing. Kate has been a part of the fetish community for many years, and strives to write stories that realistically reflect that lifestyle. Her favorite part of writing her own books is dreaming up the hot and steamy, yet loving and strict, Daddies that Littles dream about.

3.4 stars. Very sweet, with some darker elements. (My darkness scales are skewed by my love of fictional psychos, so check TWs lol) I really enjoyed it. I just really loved the support and care he showed her. Plus she ended up being a badass, and I love that he was so proud of her for that.
I love that Kate is getting a little darker with each book in this series, while still giving us the DD/lg elements her long-time readers have come to expect. She also adds the right amount of humor to balance everything out.
I really enjoyed that we got Bash and Chloe's romance, while also getting the sibling dynamic between Kieran and Chloe. There were some heavy/heart string tugging moments between Bash and Kieran, and also Kieran and Chloe that I LOVED. It really showed that Kate is building us a world and interconnecting relationships with this series, not just a romance book.
We also got scenes with our favorite series characters...and yes, Cali and Scarlet are still as spunky and sassy as always!
I'm looking forward to Kieran and Paisley's story and to see where Kate continues to go with this series.

“I would do anything for you, Chloe. You’re my girl, and my only goal for the rest of my life is to make you happy.”
This one is a bit darker than the previous books of the series, and it's my favorite so far. I loved their relationship, and his panty sniffing obsession had me laughing so hard!
I don't know what it is, but there's something addicting about Kate Oliver's book. Though I will say, the writing and dialogue feel a bit repetitive at times, which make all the characters blend together at the end. Example: the FMCs call the MMCs buttheads or sayings like "she'll run circles around you."
It’s not a really short book but it still felt really rushed.
Firstly, I love this author, and I did enjoy this book but it felt way too rushed. At 247 pages it’s not that short but it feels it. Bash is Declan’s younger brother, and Kieron is Chloe’s older half brother. I wish we had a recap at the beginning of the book, as I had forgotten who everyone was. Maybe I need to re-read the first two, not a hardship.
Bash has liked Chloe for seven years, but out of respect for Kieron he has never done anything about it. I’m really not sure why he never asked Kieron for his approval. Chloe and Kieron have a strange relationship, as she hasn’t told him she moved out of her dads house six months ago to move in with her friend Paisley. As a member of the Irish mafia he doesn’t notice his sister is living in a rough end of town??? As soon as Kieron gives Bash permission to date his sister, it’s full steam ahead. Within days he’s moved her into his house, they’re in a relationship and I’ve got to be honest it felt really weird. Even when they’re having sex it felt weird as I didn’t feel like they knew each other. As in seven years they had only met a handful of times.
There is a tiny bit of a plot, and some danger, and that’s it. While I enjoyed it, I didn’t love it. One final thing. Please please stop writing a*al sex without preparing her. I didn’t like that.
CW: Mild Violence, Drugging, Kidnapping, Anxiety, Domestic Discipline, Daddy Kink. Off Page: Self-harm, human trafficking
This is book 3 in Kate Oliver's Syndicate Kings series about the Irish Mafia. This not a Dark Mafia Romance, it more like a Light Mafia Romance. This is a brother's best friend romance. It is not 100% grumpy/sunshine but the basic elements are there. The spice level is high.
HE GOT HER NAME TATTOOED 17 TIMES ON HIS BODY!!!!! [Read to know why]
I need a man like that!
Once again, we got an amazing story with everything a good book should have. I enjoyed the plot, love the characters, and I can't wait for another one from this series or author for the matter.
I don’t usually read the daddy lg trope because I find it odd that a man wants a woman who acts like a child. This book was reccd and by the time I figured out it was lg I was hooked. I actually really liked the story and just ignored the girls acting like kids. If you like the trope I highly recommend it.
Let’s say your on a date you don’t really want to be on because the guy is more interested in himself so you excuse yourself to the bathroom to get away from him. When you come back a guy you kind of know (through your brother) steps up and makes your date drink your wine, you’re confused but go with it. Come to find out the slimy date drugged your drink.
Bash is over protective mafia Daddy and Chloe is sassy and guarded because she’s had a rough life.
I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next one!
Controlling Chloe is the third installment of Kate Oliver’s Syndicate Kings series. In it she chronicles the age-play romance of Chloe and Sebastian “Bash” Gilroy. He is one of the Gilroy brothers who lead the Irish Mafia. She is the younger half-sister of his fellow Irish Mafia brother, Keirnan. This makes her off-limits, however, Bash has been attracted to her for several years. Destiny brings them together when she is on a date, arranged by her father, with Bradley DuPont. While she is in the restroom, Bradley puts a roofie in her glass of wine. His actions are observed by Bash and his two companions. His rescue of Chloe ignites their romantic journey. Can Bash keep her safe? What happens with Bradley? Why would her father force her on a date? How will Keirnan react to Bash’s romantic interest in Chloe? To find out what unfurls, you must read this book.
I applaud Ms. Oliver in her skill at drawing her readers into her book. She does so through her multi-dimensional primary and secondary characters. I enjoyed her skill with descriptive language especially the scenes wherein she captures the lead characters interactions with each other. I like how she uses her secondary characters that allows readers to see the tight-knit unit of this Irish Mafia family. The dialog, both conversational and internal monologues, are rich and allow readers to understand her characters.
A quick little daddy dom read 😅🫣 These books always surprise me even when I think I’ve read enough books to not get surprised 😂 I couldn’t read books with this kind of plot all the time, but it’s good for a switch up from my normal reads. I liked the past history between these two and her brother being so sweet. Looking forward to her brother and her friend’s book.
Absolutely loved it and have loved this series of “daddy doms.”
Note to self: Chloe and Paisley are BF. Chloe is with Bash and Chloe’s step-brother is Kieran who loves Chloe so much. He and Chloe’s BF Paisley book is next! Paisley moves into the house to be safe they take her in like family.
This is Chloe and Bash's story. I really debated reading this one because the author seems to equate the submissive with weak. Chloe went through a lot and was stronger for it before she and Bash got together. While Bash was over the top protective, Chloe didn't whine or grate on the readers nerves. Yes, she was submissive and little in the dynamic, but she was still strong.
The secondary characters were mainly one dimensional and unchanged. Cali and Scarlet remained as whiney as ever and Declan and Killan were more place holders. The reader still gets the feeling the Bash should have been the older brother leading the group. Kieran was fleshed out for the better. He felt guilty for not being there for his sister, but she forgave him & you felt their relationship would be much better and they'd grow closer. He was blindsided by Paisley. Hopefully she's a strong female character. She has started out depending on herself and the strong take no prisoner types. The next story is Keiran and Paisley's and from the little bit we've seen, there should be quite a bit of fireworks.
The story that developed with Chloe's father and the Red Dragon seems interesting and finally gives the all the organizations something to work together on and keep the readers interest & not distract from the strong female characters. Maybe now that the four women are going into business, we can see Cali and Scarlett in a better light. Overall, the author created a strong female character and an equally overprotective strong male character who wasn't upset by that & it didn't throw off the dynamic. It made the book much more enjoyable.
If you listen to The Wet Spot Pod, I make no secret of the fact that I LOVE Kate Oliver. Every book of hers that I have read, I have read multiple times. This one will be no different.
Bash & Chloe <3 (I am not one to leave spoilers, I am just going to say that this one just like every other one of her books...amazeballz *mic drop*)
First read reaction, *chefs kiss* this series in general is a step up in the darkness level without losing the the tried and true dynamic. A dynamic lovingly written and weaved into the story. The sweetest mafia, OTT, possessive, Alphas you will ever fall in love with.
This book includes: *top shelf banter *internal dialogue you can't help but laugh at *the build up and the start of the anticipation for the funny best friends book (already can't wait for Paisley's story) *the amazingly written dynamic between Dd and lg <3 very few authors can capture and write the seeds of authenticity that Kate can. *and the spice.. duh
ggaahhhh can't wait to read again and devour more of her amazing books to come!!
You know that feeling after you read a book, you get to that last page and you just smile. That is what I do at the end of every one of Kate's books. I go through all the feels while reading but at the end, I just feel good, happy. She makes me want to read more of her words. That is one of the reasons I read her books multiple times. I can't just read one, I have to continue the good feels she gives me. No other author has done that for me. Kate Oliver thank you for my dopamine.
- a mafia romance! dark romance, age gap, daddy k!nk, hurt/comfort, instalove, found family, brothers best friend! - well this one started off with a lot of drama!! - and i’m really glad Chloe is okay because i was very scared for her and i loved her instantly (yellow is the correct fav colour hehe) - HE’S BEEN IN LOVE WITH HER FOR SEVEN YEARS?! - oh her dad is truly truly awful - acc kinda love how on board Kieran is with the whole thing, makes life A LOT easier - and love how on board Chloe was with it as well but was still incredible sassy hehe - loved when all the girls met!! menaces - it acc broke my heart when he found out - she’d self harmed previously, like you could feel his heart break - this one is a lot more gory than the first two for deffo! - i really really loved how much Bash supported Chloe with her dreams, even when she didn’t think she should do something he was all for it!! - hehehe Kieran met Paisley - great sex scenes too! - third act conflict was INTENSE but could only assume it would happen like that - BUT CHLOE WAS SUCH A FUCKING BADASS OH MY GOD - i LOVE how well Miss Oliver writes these submissive women but NEVER makes them weak - he just loves her so much 🥺 - when Kieran found out everything too!! oh god they hurt so much - i LOVE that the girls are all gonna go into business together!! so cool - the ending to this was perfect, honestly loved every second of this
Well, to start, I've got to say, best friends sibling is one of my favorite troupes. Don't ask me why...although I do know why, I'm just not willing to tell!
I liked that the conversations between Bash and Kieran happened up front. While I do like a secret, behind the scenes BF and sibling, that dynamic definitely wouldn't work in the mafia context where trust and loyalty are of the highest priority. Kieran needed to give his blessing before Bash would have done anything, that's just who they are. I know Kieran and Paisley are next and I would expect Kieran to talk about it with Chloe first (although it seems as if Chloe is already trying to push them together, so maybe blessings aren't necessary).
Kate just keeps getting a little darker every time, and the whole self harm, dad's a major dick aspect of this was definitely heartbreaking. But oh man, when it's reveled Bash got her name tattooed...I about lost it. So swoon worthy!
3.25/5, this has definitely been my favorite of the series so far...but we'll see what Kieran and Paisley do to me next!
(Side note, I'm also really excited to explore Cage and co in her new series. And I still want a book with Patrick and Paige getting together!)
Sebastian “Bash” Gilroy has had a thing for Chloe ever since her met her 7 years before, on her 18th birthday. But she is the younger sister of one of his friends and fellow Irish mafia member Kieran Roche. During a business meeting at a local restaurant Bash happens to notice Chloe coming in with a date. While she is away from the table he further notices that date slip something into her drink. Bash waits for her to return to the table and then goes over to intercede and save her from this predator. When he questions Chloe about her choice of companion she lets him know the date was setup by her father, as a favor to him. Bash finds out it is more than a favor as her father threatened to stop paying her college tuition if she did not go out with this person. Bash becomes totally over protective and moves very fast to make her his after he gets the okay from her brother to proceed with the relationship. Chloe tries to hold back her feelings for him but he shows her he pays attention to the little things and that he really wants this to last. This is the third installment of the Syndicate Kings series and though their relationship moved a little too fast for my liking it was a great read.
[ Also, I only read this book in the series, I didn't read any of the others, so take what I say lightly]
okay, I tried sooo hard to like this book, and I just honestly didn't. Some parts I did enjoy, so let's start there...
I connected a little with Chloe when it came to her self-harm story, so I gave points there, and I liked the way Bash actually cared [same with her brother]. I think that was super sweet. also, the fact that Bash got her name tattooed on him 17 times to feel the pain she did....I'm not gonna lie, I did shed a tear or two because I think that's so sweet:((
I liked the spice as well, but now let's get to some things I didn't enjoy...
first of all, I feel like this book was rushed, to be honest, and now I usually don't mind, but especially in the end, everything started to move so fast? they got married so quickly, and it was just a lot.
also with Chloes brother being there when she calls bash "daddy" or even just any of them being related, and them doing those things made me cringe a little. I guess I think of it as if I ever did anything like that around my family, I think I'd rather dig myself a hole somewhere.
overall, I didn't really enjoy it, but im being positive, and I don't think it was horrible. Like I said, it's not the book for me.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
What can I say about Kate Oliver's books that hasn't already been said? In Book 3 of the Syndicate Kings series, we have Bash and Chloe. Bash is best friends with Chloe's brother, so he has kept his distance because he didn't want to cause problems. But when Kieran gives Bash his blessing, it's on. He is going to make sure that she knows who she belongs too. There might be some triggers so check on those, but this was an awesome book. Bash has become my favorite character that Ms. Oliver has written, even over her Daddies of the Shadows (another excellent series). I loved how he gave Chloe space without being "too" overbearing but when she is kidnapped, you know he's going to go overboard. The story will suck you in and keep you turning the pages to keep up with all the shenanigans. Cali and Scarlet are always a joy to see, and I think they helped Chloe see that while their Daddies may mafia guys, they know they will always be safe with them. All the guys love and protect ALL the ladies and that's a high point for me! Seriously, if you love DD/lg, run out and get this book!!!
Chloe was forced to go on a date with Bradley. She wasn't happy about it. When Bash finally saw who she was he knew he needed to get her away from Bradley. Bash noticed how uncomfortable Chloe was. He saw Bradley put something in Chloe's drink. He wasn't going to let that slide. What do you do when your brother's best friend saves you? You fall in love with him of course.
Chloe being forced to go on that date is awful. No one should be forced to do something like that. When Bash finally saw who Chloe was is such a cute moment. I couldn't believe Bradley put something in Chloe's drink. How dare he. When Bash got Chloe home was sweet and funny because of Paisley. The next day at Chloe's brother's place was not what I expected but I shouldn't have been surprised. They're mafia men. I love when mafia men have a heart to heart with each other. It makes me smile.
I really like this one. I've read one other book from Kate and it was amazing as well. Definitely going to keep going with this series. I'm in love with these men!

The TWs go hard on this one but the book was great. Truly a lovely story. I liked that it went semi slow but it made sense that these two have known each other for over 7 years being it’s her brother’s best friend. Loved it.
Bash was fun in the other books so it was an easy read with likable characters and Chloe was feisty. I’m ready for Paisley though. You just know she’s going to run circles around them.
I was hoping to see more of the shadow girls but it’s okay. I’ll live.

Bash and Chloe—a best friend’s little sister story that packs an emotional punch. Chloe is such a complex character, and I couldn’t help but feel every bit of her pain and triumph alongside her. The things she endured at the hands of someone who was supposed to love her were heartbreaking, and throughout the story, I found myself rooting for her to get the happily-ever-after she deserved.
Bash, who had been quietly pining for his best friend’s little sister, struggled with his feelings, knowing they might not sit well with Keiran. But when Bash steps in to save Chloe from a dangerous situation, Keiran finally recognizes the depth of his feelings for her and gives Bash his blessing. After that, all bets were off. Bash set out to make Chloe his, and their journey together was heartwarming and satisfying to watch unfold.
This story delivers on emotion, growth, and love—an enjoyable read from start to finish.
💛Mafia 💛Brother’s Best Friend 💛Daddy Dom 💛Billionaire
Controlling Chloe is the third book of the Syndicate Kings series of interconnected standalones. This was everything that I wanted for Bash’s story and I love that it is best friend’s sister! Bash has been interested in his best friend’s little sister, Chloe, since he met her seven years ago. But he knows that she is off limits so he stayed away from her. When Chloe finds herself in a bad situation Bash comes to her rescue. I absolutely love these two together! Chloe is sweet, a little sassy, and wants to make it on her own. Bash is bossy, unhinged, and such a teddy bear for his girl. His grand gesture of his love at the end melted my heart! I loved seeing all the characters from the previous books and from the Daddies of the Shadows series. I am loving this series and can’t wait for more of it!
In this 3rd book of the Syndicate Kings we find Bash needing to protect Little Chloe, sister of his best friend, Keiran, who he has secretly wanted for years. Bash never expected to be able to act upon his feelings but when danger changes the scenario surrounding the Mafia family and Chloe, Sebastian doesn't hesitate to take care of Chloe. Love the cameos of Cali and Scarlet and the way total love and care for woman and children are always emphasised throughout these stories. Bash has always been a pushover for Littles but with Chloe he is over the top protective and totally tough and dominant. When she is in danger from many sides he becomes almost totally unhinged. Up till now Wolf has been my favourite anti hero but now its Bash, all Bash. Can Bash stop this evil getting to Chloe or will he be to late? Another Kate Oliver triumph.
It was by luck that the date Chloe’s dad had set her up with took her to a restaurant owned by Bash. He caught sight of her when she walked in and kept an eye on her and her date. He also took control when he saw the date slip something into her drink. It was then official shortly later as she told her big brother and Bash’s best friend all the things that happened in the last 24 hours. He was her Daddy and her protector but will he really be able to keep her safe from her evil father? He has been involving in kidnapping women for trafficking and he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. I had to make myself stop reading for a few minutes throughout the book just to get my heart rate back down. Great book can’t wait to read the next book.
No matter how many of Kate Oliver's books I read, I am never bored. Each book features dynamic characters, a compelling story, and enough passion to warrant some cold showers. This time we had Chloe and Bash, two people in love with each other but afraid to do anything about their feelings. While I understood their concerns (after all Chloe's brother is Bash's best friend), I still was frustrated that they couldn't see how perfect they were for each other. Once Chloe was in danger and Bash had to step in, that was when everything changed. Watching their relationship grow and deepen brought satisfaction and happiness. Sprinkle in some fun with the their littles, and Controlling Chloe gave me everything I needed in a book.
Wow! This story blew me away! This series is unreal and this next addition proves it! I’ve loved Bash from the beginning and hoped he would get his own story. He is devastatingly handsome and fiercely protective of this he cares for and loves. He’s also been hiding his feelings for Chloe out of respect for her brother. But when that all changes, all bets are off. Bash is bound and determined to make Chloe his, he just has to convince her! I love Chloe so much! Such a breath of fresh air she is! I enjoyed their witty banter and their chemistry is super sizzling hot! These two are perfection and belong together in every sense of the word! My heart hurt but was made while again and I am forever in love with Bash and Chloe. Just brilliant!!!
Yowzers. This is book 3 in the series and it just keeps getting better. Yup it is a little dark and I can see where parts may trigger some people, but oh I loved it. Chloe is on a BAD first date, actually a set up date, when her brother's best friend and others see her and know that she is not in a good situation. It is up to them, more like Bash, to save the night. It is just the beginning. Think human trafficking. Bash bulldozes his way into her life, especially after receiving her brother's blessing. What could happen? Right? Oh a lot of things but just remember there is an HEA, Chloe is kickass, Bash is totally head over heals for Chloe, and Kieran makes up for lost time with his sister.
This was a brother’s best friend trope I really enjoyed. And while I love the forbidden trope that usually comes with this type of book, I loved how Kieran gave his blessing upfront. This book also had a darker theme when it comes to the heroine. It’s something I can relate to when I was growing up, and I think Kate did a great job using it in this story. Especially the little thing Bash did for Chloe towards the end. It made me melt inside. Now while I loved this and enjoyed it, the only reason I didn’t give it five stars, was due to Bash’s little obsession. It was just not for me, but it didn’t take away from the story. I’m looking forward to the next book because Paisley seems like she is going to give Kieran a run for his money.
Controlling Chloe is book 3 in the Syndicate series. It is part of a interconnected series in that we do see overlapping characters. It is a Ddlg book with ageplay aspects. This is a mafia, best friend's sister romance. Chloe is our main fmc who is sweetness with a dash of sass all in one Little package. She's independent and wants to make it on her own. But when she finds herself needing help, it's Bash who comes to the rescue. Bash is a total teddy bear for Chloe but he's also a bit unhinged, dominating and tough. We have seen bits of his character in previous stories and I have to admit I think he's my favorite mmc of this series!
