Kidnapping. Curses. Trying to stop a magical cult from taking over the world. No one told me this was what being a godparent would be like.
No one is more surprised than me when I get the "Rhyss, we would be honored if you would stand as Coran's godfather."
For this happy-go-lucky mercenary, it's not the sort of thing I get asked often. Or would even want to do.
But you don't say no to your best friends, who also happen to be the King and Queen of Calia. Even if saying yes means pledging my life and protection to their newborn son, the Crown Prince Coran.
At the dedication, my new vow is immediately tested when the baby is stolen away by a secret society. Now I, along with Farrah, another dear friend, must cross a haunted forest and deal with pirates in the seedy kingdom of Bomora.
My former home.
Where I have to face the demons of my past. Before they unleash an ancient magic that could destroy all of the Gifted Lands.
Should be easy.
Right?
Journey to the Gifted Lands, a fantasy world of seven kingdoms, each known for their own unique power or ability. Heir of Crowns and Curses is the fourth book in the Kingdom Legacy series set in this magical world. Each book features a character from one of the kingdoms, with appearances from beloved characters from previous novels.
Rachanee Lumayno is an actress, voiceover artist, screenwriter, avid gamer and amateur dodgeball player. She grew up in Michigan, where she spent way too much of her free time reading fantasy novels. So when she decided to try her hand at writing a book, it made sense that it would be in her favorite genre.
I'm so excited to announce that Book 4 in the Kingdom Legacy series is now in the hands of my editor (may he be merciful, ha!). Heir of Crowns and Curses is slated for an October release in ebook and paperback format. I hope to have the audio version out around the same time or soon after.
This one focuses on Rhyss, which means of course Farrah will also make an appearance! My original goal with the Kingdom Legacy series was to have different characters from the different kingdoms be featured, but I kind of think of Books 1, 4, and 5 as a "set" of sorts. 1-4-5 is also a major chord in music, so perhaps my music background is showing a bit. :)
Speaking of which, book 5 is currently in the works. I'm hoping to get book 5 out early next year so y'all don't have to wait too long for a resolution to the "major progression". You'll see what I mean soon enough. :)
I can't wait to share Heir of Crowns and Curses with you, and thank you so much for reading my books! It means so much to me to be able to create these fun worlds and stories and be able to share them with you.

Another book, another kingdom to explore in the Gifted Lands. This time, it is Bomora, Rhyss's birth country. And if anyone has been reading my reviews, I believe I have made it clear how much I love the duo that comprises of Rhyss and Farrah.
Jennica and Beyan have had their first child, the Crown Prince of Calia, and they have invited the duo to the baby's dedication as well as asked Rhyss to be the baby's godfather. Of course, something goes terribly wrong in the form of Coran being kidnapped by a group from Bomora, leading to Rhyss and Farrah being sent off to rescue the baby.
I loved learning more about this country especially the origins of it (simply put, it involves crime and some piracy.). It was also great to see the focus on Rhyss's and Farrah's relationship as well as learning more about Rhyss's past.
This is also the first time that we have seen the Fae involved, but the next book is likely going to dive further into them and the country nearest to them. I look forward to seeing where that book takes us.
I was just drawn into this wonderful story and I just couldn’t get enough of it. It was just so easy to get lost in this great story. I just didn’t want it to end. I just lost myself in it and I just couldn’t get enough of these interesting characters. I can’t wait to see what’s next from this author.
Rhys is getting to be the goodfather of the crownprince of Calia. Will he with Farrahs support be able to protect the little one? Once again, they have to travel a new country in the gifted lands on their journey to protect, not only the crownprince, but also their people. They have to survive unexpected surprises and battles. Will they succeed?
The Kingdom Legacy series comes full circle with this installment, as we're back with the OG party! A lot has changed since, of course, but I was really stoked to find out that Heir of Crowns and Curses was in Rhyss' POV — he's one of my favorites, along with Farrah. And this book didn't disappoint! It still has all the elements I enjoy about this series: the quick pace, the likeable characters, the feel-good vibes while still having real stakes, the humor, and the dash of romance.
I also just really love the setup of this series, how each book focuses on a kingdom in the Gifted Lands. This time the kingdom in question is Bomora, Rhyss's birth country, which has a history of... well, piracy. We're also introduced to the Fae, and that's gotten me very intrigued. Do I dare hope the next book will have more about them?
I jumped at the opportunity to enjoy this book via audio as I absolutely love Rachanee's voice work, and that didn't disappoint either.
If you like your fantasy as standalone quick reads but with a larger world that you can later explore at a time of your choosing, check this series out!
