His first book: Destiny Betrayed, was an in depth look at the Garrison investigation. In 1993 he co-founded both Citizens for Truth about the Kennedy Assassination (CTKA), and the following year: the Coalition on Political Assassinations (COPA). Along with Lisa Pease he co-edited COPA's journal: Probe Magazine from 1993-2000, and later assisted in a compilation of the Probe articles which was published as The Assassinations. In response to Vincent Bugliosi's Reclaiming History and associated film Parkland, DiEugenio published Reclaiming Parkland, a critique of Bugliosi's methodology, evidence, and findings in the Kennedy Asassination.

It's really too bad that "researcher" has been indelibly tainted by association with QAnon dipshits when guys like Jim DiEugnio, who are true, independent researchers, produce some high quality work using standard research methods.
You might not agree with his conclusions but he doesn't stray outside permissible standards. He doesn't commune with the dead. He doesn't hang out at alien abduction conferences. He finds documents. He fills out FOIA requests. He does interviews. He engages critically with those things, analyzes their worth, and draws reasonable conclusions based upon what he uncovers.
This is a collection of essays by DiEugenio and four additional authors who pick apart the seams of the Warren Commission. There is no chronological scheme, each can be read independently of the next. There are a few flaws. The collection is clearly meant to be read as an ebook. I know this because my paperback edition recommended a couple times to click on a hyperlink.
The other flaw is that James DiEugenio is optimistic. He believes in an American republic that's always evolving- doing better. Ten years ago, I thought that was rather inspiring. Now, I feel that it is- dare I say?- quaint. My generation's motto is "Nothing good will every happen again." I believe in that motto very much.
Then again, I also believe in the promise of the Kennedys. I believe that there was a conspiracy to kill both Jack and Bobby. I believe it unfolded very much the way that DiEugenio has outlined. I don't need convincing there.
What I do need convincing is that there will be good things in the future. That is outside this book's purview but it is never out of sight. Unfortunately, I can't believe it. Things started going very wrong on November 22nd, 1963 but, we can't go back. We can't even rectify it now.
This is a great book, but a depressing one. Sometimes the truth does not set you free. Sometimes knowing the truth just chains you to it.

This is the most accessible, concise and thorough book I’ve read. The book, written by multiple JFK experts, has a chapter for each major aspect of the assassination. The foundation of the book is that if any one chapter is 100% correct, there was a conspiracy. Not the entire book, just one chapter. There are a ton of citations for the skeptic. This book won’t take weeks or months to read. It’s a quick read, and if you are even a little bit curious, I highly recommend this book to start.

This book lists chapter by chapter the irrefutable proof of a conspiracy to kill JFK.
From the Parkland hospital doctors all agreeing on a large exit wound in the back of JFKs skull that could only mean a shot from in front.
Then the impossible Specterlation that was the magic bullet that caused 7 wounds through 2 people as it performed manoeuvres that defied physics, hitting bone and gristle and emerging almost intact leaving more than its original weight in its sum total when adding the splinters in Governor Connally's wrist and thigh, all formed out of necessity to accuse 1 man of the crime.
The dozens of witnesses that heard shots coming from the grassy knoll and visibly seeing the puff of smoke that were ingnored.
The weapon found on the 6th floor of the Texas book depository being first identified by police and reported in the media as a Mauser before the story somehow changed to a Mannlicher Carcano.
The lack of investigation into Jack Ruby's mafia and police connections and his movements prior to his shooting of Oswald.
The reported Oswald appearance in Mexico City at the Soviet and Cuban embassies being a completely different man as per the photo produced by the CIA and the many sightings or impersonations of "Oswald" in Dallas when he wasn't even there.
The disappearance of the bullet hole in the Presidential limo front windshield which was inexplicably rapidly repaired to seemingly avoid investigation.
Not forgetting the intimidation and disappearance of many witnesses and many compelling witnesses not being asked to give evidence at the Warren Commission.
The repeated falsifying of evidence and tampering of autopsy photos.
The government and media attacking any alternative views or just burying them.
The CIA creating the cliche term conspiracy theorist to denigrate researchers looking for the truth.
The list goes on with many more.
What we know for sure is there was a conspiracy to kill JFK and a coverup in it's aftermath, yet 62 years later that's what certain elements of government, the CIA and FBI are still doing and laughably referring back to the discredited Warren Commission as having largely got it right.

Interesting enough information, but the format made me dislike it. I think it would have been better in a narrative style rather than just a compilation of evidence.
