Of course this is on Goodreads. It has over 200,000 hits and over 200,000 words and it was/is better than, well, probably a good number of published books you can find in Waterstones.
I love that there is fanfiction on here. I hope all young people continue to have the space and agency to write about universes and characters they love and that make them feel safe, seen, and represented.
The British Library was god damn right to feature AO3 on an entire wall in their latest full-scale exhibition. The amount of Good Omens stuff doesn’t even COMPARE to the legit LEGACY of Harry Potter stuff and these are just two worlds of the many many many that live on the mobile devices of people around the world. I think that is so bloody cool.
Pick up your pens and your paintbrushes and your digital pens and tablets and editing software or whatever! To be inspired to create based on the work of another - that’s what it’s all a fucking about! Don’t be creepy about it to the actors/creators of the show, don’t write anything illegal, and you’re golden. In the midst of everything, the internet can be so fucking nice and so fucking bright.

I adore this writing style and the research that must have gone into some of the details, like the poetry and plant names. Plus, the communication portrayed here had me grinning ear to ear like a sappy idiot in public multiple times, which should count as an endorsement by itself.
