Read 7/12 books in this massive omnibus, but it's too much of a slog to finish. I only liked one, and after a while they all started to blur together. There were jarring, unexpected religious references in at least half the books I read, not enough to qualify them as religious fiction, but too much, & too out of place, for non-religious fiction. If the stories had been better I might've kept going, but pointless stuff & characters acting more stupidly than the average human being would and I'm *done*.
Finding Faith by Bridget E Baker - I enjoyed reading this book. Ms. Baker is a new to me author and I would like to read the next book in this series. The characters in the story are flawed and trying to overcome difficulties from their pasts. But they have some growth over the course of the story. I don't know if the sister will eventually get her own book but I hope she gets a growth arc since I worry that she is overly dependent on her sister that takes charge of everything and financially supports her. ****
Yuletide Manor by Jennifer Griffith - Such a sweet Christmas romance. Ms. Griffith's series of Christmas books are always a delight to read. Yuletide Manor sounds like such a beautiful place. I liked Natalie and Hunter and rooted for them to have their happily ever after in the manor. I was glad they could overcome past hurts to form their relationship and bond. A wonderful read for the Christmas season. Or anytime really. *****
Her Cowboy Billionaire Best Friend by Liz Isaacson - Sweet, clean romance. I liked the main characters for the most part. I liked that Laney got brave enough to voice her needs to Graham and then Graham had to decide what to do about it. Laney's daughter Bailey was cute, though often in the background. And I liked Graham's brothers. I also quite liked Celia as a grandmotherly figure. ***
The Christmas Bachelor Auction by Rachel John: Cute little second chance romance story. It is clean. A little predictable but not completely. An enjoyable read and could be the plot for a Hallmark movie. ****
This is a book of Twelve different Christmas Romance books. I have written individual reviews for this book. You may find them in reviews with other readers here at Goodreads. I truly liked them all in some way or another.

Book 1: Christmas at Saltwater Cove by Ameila Addler. ****4 stars Cute story about a female doctor visiting her sister across the country. Her sister happens to meet up with the docs ex boyfriend from high school and gets them to meet up again.
Book 2: Finding Faith by B.E Baker ***** 5 stars Super cute, sweet story about a woman who doesn't want children because she doesn't want to be like her parents. But she's a natural at caring for others. I will be checking out other books by this author!
Book 3: Blessings on State Street by Rachael Bloome **** 4 stars Recently widowed military wife runs away from Christmas to a home that was passed down from an aunt to her late husband. Except someone already lives there.
Book 4: Best Intentions by Tamie Dearen ** 2 stars This book is part of a series. (Which are all the others, so far as well). But this one included a lot of characters from previous books and it was hard to keep track of who was who. I also didn't love the story. I had a hard time with this one. I had to make myself keep reading.
Book 5: The Yuletide Manor by Jennifer Griffith *** 3 stars I didn't love this story. Maybe I just didn't love the writing style? A baker goes home for the holidays, and a sister's wedding. She ends up planning the wedding with the venue's director. She and the director have a history. It's really built up, but doesn't seem to live up to the hype the author gives it.
Book 6: Dreaming of her Cowboy's Kiss by Jessie Gussman ** 2 stars A surgeon walks in on her fiance and another woman on their wedding day, before vows are said. She runs away, right into the arms of a man who has been in love with her since they met.
Book 8: Her Cowboy Billionaire Best Friend by Liz Isaacson *** 3 stars The two main characters were supposedly best friends in high school. It's been years. She's been married and divorced. He just left a cheating relationship. He seems really dense. You'd think since they were once best friends, they would at least be able to talk to each other. He acts like he's afraid of girls. And he's not very nice to her. I'm not sure how he was in a previous relationship, if he acted like this. I guess he's bitter and sad still, but it seems a bit extreme for him to act this way toward a woman he was once best friends with. The overall story was pretty good. Her ex-husband comes back one night and just lets himself in. He's "passing through" and needs a place to sleep. The sherrif is called, and shows up, but she sends him away because the ex told her he would make her life miserable if she doesn't. They talk about how he seems dangerous, blah, blah, blah...and I expect him to show up at the some point in the story again and cause some sort of problem. But he doesn't. I didn't understand why he showed up in the story at all. Also, toward the end of the story, she hires an ex-con to help on her ranch because she finally decides she can't do it all. I expected that to turn into some sort of problem too. But it doesn't. So I don't know why this ex-con employee is brought up front into the story.
Book 9: The Christmas Bachelor Auction by Rachel John **** 4 stars Cute story. Travel photographer's sister talks him into being a Bachelor in the Christmas Auction. It's for the senior center, and he's home for Christmas for the first time in 5 years. Sister's best friend outbids her neighbor, knowing that the neighbor is only bidding for her clingy daughter to have a boyfriend again. Best friend (wood carver) and travel photographer have a history...this is gonna be awkward.
Book 10: A Royal Christmas for the Marine by Jess Mastorakos **** 4 stars I don't normally love a royal romance. They always seem so unrealistic. And that's what I though about this one too, until almost the end. At the ball, she tells off his ex-girlfriend (who is not a very nice person, by the way). And realizes that she had already wanted the life with her prince. She is just extra sure now. And she finds a way to fit into the royal family. And they really do love each other. So cute.
Book 11: Sandover Beach Christmas by Emma St. Clair ****4 stars I've actually read this series before. I enjoyed this book again, and I want to read the entire series again! Grumpy policeman and single (but told her parents she had a boyfriend) event planner.
Book 12: Come Tomorrow by Tess Thompson ***3 stars This was too long...! I finished it, and overall it was a good story. But so long.
Amelia Addler’s Christmas at Saltwater Cove - Maggie the matchmaking sister sets up Sandy and Jack. They were high school sweethearts. Can they become forever sweethearts this time?
Tamie Dearen’s Best Intentions - I did have a hard time getting into to this book and liking Olivia but I'm glad I kept reading. Santa makes an appearance which very central to the story.
Jennifer Griffith’s The Yuletide Manor - Natalie and Hunter have a past that she is still struggling with. Loved how they were able to work together in spite of that. Seeing them "fall" for each other was so very sweet.
Jessie Gussman’s Dreaming of her Cowboy’s Kiss - Ruby's day is falling apart and Ethan is there for her. He has always been there for her and showing her how much he cares and loves her without saying the words. They have both lost so much in the past. His trust in the Lord and in His timing was so inspirational to me. A different kind of romance but a romance nonetheless.
Ellie Hall’s Christmas in Hawk Ridge Hollow - Francesca Costa and Rocky Hawkins have to hate each other or do they? Their families are like the modern day Hatfield and McCoy family feud. Loved seeing her break down his grumpy boundaries and him show he cared.
Liz Isaacason’s Her Cowboy Billionaire Best Friend - I loved Laney and Bailey was adorable. Graham aggravated me - I did grow to like him. There was chemistry, friendship and potential for more.
Tess Thompson’s Come Tomorrow - Luci and Wesley have such a beautiful story. It started many years ago and while years passed their connection remained strong. Loved seeing these two come together again. I cried for Luci, her sister, and Wesley. Sweet sweet ending.
What better way to start the holiday season than to read holiday stories by these talented authors. I especially enjoyed DREAMING OF HER COWBOY’S KISS by Jessie Gussman. This story belongs to Ruby Barclay and Ethan Shuff. Years ago Ethan met and fell in love with 17 year old Ruby. It was the day she arrived at the home of Pastor Race Landy and his wife . A couple that adopted Ruby and her siblings when they became orphans. Nowadays, Ruby is a trauma surgeon about to marry Wesley. A man she’s not in love with, but one she believes she could have a future with on a personal and professional basis. But all that changes when just before their wedding Ruby finds him with another woman. Escaping the wedding was all she wanted and thankfully Ethan was there to rescue her and take her to his ranch. From that moment on, feelings deepened but each knew that a future together was not an option. Could love overcome everything ? Will God give them a sign when they feel there is not going to be a happy ending? Once again this wonderful Christian romance author shows us that even though life is messy and unpredictable, having faith in God and putting ourselves in his hands will reward us with the right answers. If like me you want to know what happens next with a secondary character, know that this story is book one of the author’s series titled Cowboy Mountain Christmas, Small Town Sweet Romance.
Dreaming of Her Cowboy's Kiss by Jessie Gussman I loved entering a new series! The characters and their lives were amazing. I loved getting to see all the work done together and there were a lot of faith lessons in here. I couldn’t put this book down. I’m super excited for the next one. Books with Christmas are the best!
Christmas in Hawk Ridge Hollow by Ellie Hall A great end to this series. Lots of fun and enjoyable characters. I’m excited to see if she turns all those brothers into a new series!
Her Cowboy Billionaire Best Friend by Liz Isaacson I really liked this into to the Whittaker’s series. The characters were wonderful and I loved the amount of time this book spanned. There were good lessons within about priorities and making the time for what’s important. I’m anxious to read the next book!
While I was familiar with many of these authors and had read some of their other work, the only book in this collection that I had already read was Dreaming of Her Cowboy's Kiss by Jessie Gussman. I loved this story of a bride fleeing her wedding and finding a safe place with the man who had secretly loved her for years. And what a great surprise ending this book has, just when things seem impossible. So far, I have read four of the other stories included and enjoyed them all. Sometimes Christmas is central to the story, and sometimes it is peripheral. Some of them have been tropes that I don't usually read but I find that I did like them. This is a great collection, and a real bargain as well. Many of the authors offer bonus content, or even another free book, at the end of their book. I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest opinion.
What a great group of authors and a set of amazing stories! I will highlight my favorite story by B.E. Baker called Finding Faith. This story highlights the life of Mary. Mary is strong, poised, steadfast, loving and kind. Mary takes care of everyone around her which includes her sister, nephew, friends and co-workers. Mary has been taking care of everyone but herself. She has some big lessons to learn and her first one comes when she meets a handsome stranger named Luke. This story had me laughing, crying and swooning. It has all the feels and I loved it. ❤❤
Book 1: Christmas at Saltwater Cove by Amelia Addler This story is about paediatric surgeon, Sandy who is on leave and visits her cousin, Margie over the holidays. She meets charming ex restaurant owner, Jake who is also visiting the island after a bit of meddling on Margie's side. They embark on a series of adventures and activities together which leads to Sandy being jailed. But all ends well and this charming read was a fun book. I rate it 4*.
Book 2: Finding Faith by BE Baker This lovely read is about Mary, an accountant who has vowed never to have children as she is a career woman and she had an awful childhood upbringing. She meets a charming windowed dad, Luke who lives in an RV with his two young kids and is a master electrician. She is wildly attracted to him but he is leaving after a big job in a few weeks. Can Mary put aside her fears about being a mom and can they have their happily ever after? A heartwarming read with some angst which I rate 4.5*.
Book 3: Blessings on State Street by Rachel Bloome This heartfelt tale is about Abby, a widow and Logan, an injured veteran. Abby unexpectedly finds out that her deceased husband inherited a cottage in Blessing Bay and when she arrives, she finds Logan (her husband 's close friend/ex Airforce pilot staying there and maintaining the property). They help each other out as both have a boatload of baggage. Can Abby even consider starting a relationship with someone else? This is such an emotional, heartwarming tale that made me shed a few tears. A lovely story about starting afresh. I rate this book 4.25*.
Book 4: Best Intentions by Tamie Dearen This college romance takes place between Columbia students - law student, son of a very wealthy family, Collin Sterling and his friend, Olivia Marshall, a registered nurse who is now a med student. Olivia has a love/hate relationship with Collin, though she won't admit she is extremely attracted to him. During the course of the book, Collin became a much nicer, kinder, more humble person. This book had so much going for it, it had humour, angst, compassion, family love - it evoked so many emotions. I really thought it was a wonderful read and both main characters were very likeable and endearing, including their family members. I do have one criticism as the book needed an epilogue - it ended very abruptly without tying up all the pieces - about Rebecca Sterling, what happened after Martha's op, what happened with Collin and Olivia - do they move in together, does Collin sit on his Dad's board afterwards? Too many questions were left unanswered. Despite this, I rate this heartwarming book 4.5*.
Book 5: The Yuletide Manor by Jennifer Griffith Hunter Hawthorn, doctor of history and owner of Yuletide Manor is in limbo waiting for a job offer at a university and Natalie Tanner, specialist bread baker, is temporarily in town helping plan her younger sister's wedding that is being held at Yuletide Manor. These two have a history from when they were still teenagers in school and Hunter hurt Natalie's feelings badly. She has to put aside her hurt and forgive him so that they can move on and work amicably together. I found Hunter's character to be indecisive and despite him being such a good communicator, he did not express his feelings clearly to her. Natalie does not know what to think or feel as Hunter left her in the dark and confused her. She was a charming character and very likeable but I did not like Hunter that much - I felt he messed around with her emotions. The story was well written and pleasant. I rate this book 4*.
Book 6: Dreaming of her Cowboy's kiss by Jessie Gussman I did not finish this book - stopped halfway through Chapter 10. This story revolves around rancher, Ethan and trauma surgeon, Ruby. Ruby runs out on her ex-fiance at her wedding after catching him cheating on her. She pleads with Ethan to take her away from the wedding which he does and she lands up helping him out with a summer camp. The writing was good but I was bored with the story. I did not connect with the characters and I tried listening to the audiobook too (I have both the ebook and audiobook versions) but that was even worse, I did not like the narrator's voice nor did I like the way he read the story to the point where I fell asleep! I rate this book 3* as I found it tedious.
Book 7: Christmas in Hawk Ridge Hollow by Ellie Hall This charming read is about Italian chef, Francesca from New York who has lost her restaurant and she decides to take a break in her family's mountain cabin during the holidays. Upon her arrival, she meets a bona fide mountain man, Rocky who is her closest neighbour. He is grumpy, unfriendly and a recluse but she slowly edges her way into his heart. John Hawkins (aka Rocky) is an ex ice hockey player turned carpenter and he has been hiding out in the mountains for a few years, avoiding his family. He cannot resist Frankie's charm, vivaciousness and excellent cooking and he finally comes out with his hidden identity. This was an entertaining read with a great build up in their relationship. Both main characters are likeable and are struggling with their own issues. This was an enjoyable read with humour and romance which I rate 4*.
Book 8: Her Cowboy Billionaire Best Friend by Liz Isaacson
An inspiring read from some of your favorite sweet romance authors, there’s something in this one for us all. Twelve full-length sweet romance novels means hours - I mean DAYS - of wonderful reading! It’s a great way to get to sample a new writer or two while enjoying some of your tried-and-true favorites. I received an ARC copy of this book, and it’s an honor to leave my honest, voluntary review.
Most of the stories in here were pretty bad, not gonna lie. I gave two one stars, one dnf that really should have been two if I'm being honest, a three star and two four stars between them all. You can tell many of the stories are self published and could have used a good bit of editing for clarity and continuity because things definitely got confusing. Lots of toxic relationships. But there were a couple good ones in there.
This is a collection of full-length books that encompass every possible holiday romance. There are second chances, Cinderella, cowboy... The list goes on and do the tears and laughter. I loved every minute I spent reading it. I received an advance copy but my review is honest and voluntary.
Mary believes she tends to be too much like her mother so she plans to sty single and find fulfillment in her career. She didn’t plan on running into Luke. If you want a very exciting tale and trail of ups and downs, you will utterly be inthralled with this book. It has fun, laughter, love and angst. But it is how it ends up that is important.
What do you get when twelve authors get together? In this book you have twelve good, popular authors who got together to compile a Christmas anthology. What do you get? A wonderful read of authors you may know and maybe some you don’t. This book is sure to have stories to brighten your season. This is my review and all thoughts are my own.
Every story in this Bookset is excellent! Strong characters with unforgettable tales. The one that made me cry happy tears the most was Jess Mastorakos book, “A Royal Christmas For The Marine”. Some of my very favorite authors are in here and all have great stories. Happy reading.
This collection of 12 full length books, from twelve different authors is diverse and wonderful. Each story either touches on for focuses on the Christmas holidays. I was introduced to some new authors and was able to reread some of my favorite authors works. A great way to get in the mood for the Holidays!
The characters were wonderful. There qere a couple of really bad people, but the rest were delightful The story gave a picture of early 1900s rich and poor lifestyles. Well, as poor as Luci was is not really a life style. Good that the main couplers had such good hearts that they helped others.
I loved the variety of authors and their different styles of stories. They were all clean and wholesome with a unique style of storytelling. I was entertained by each of the authors stories. The collection of stories and as enjoyable from modern day stories to historical.
This is a collection of Christmas stories, most by some of my favorite authors. They range from the serious and dramatic to light hearted, but all were good stories. Most are not brand new stories so I had read a couple previously, but since they were really good, they were worth a quick review. Some I may go back and read again next year.
My biggest complaint about this compilation is that it's going to cost me a fortune! Every story is so good, I just want to read more by that author. Though I was already familiar with several of the contributing authors, none of them disappointed, and I can't wait to read more of their work.
What a lovely group of authors! Some were new to me others were return visits to favorite authors. Enjoyed reading the different styles of stories from each participant. If you've never purchased an eBook box set with assorted authors, I encourage you to make at least one or two sets each year. They make for fun reads over a long time!
I adore sweet, whimsical Christmas stories. However, these weren’t all light and fluffy, but dark and filled with heartache and adversity. A real Christmas shocker. I dislike stories that make me cry a or ruin my night’s sleep. But Christmas morning comes, bring the ultimate joy! Thank you!
What a great collection of Christmas stories. I’m reviewing Dreaming of her Cowboy’s Kiss by Jessie Gussman. This is a heartfelt, beautiful and well written story with wonderful, honest, caring and well developed characters full of faith and Christ-like love for other people. Loved the story.
I enjoyed each unique story. These authors wrote realistic stories filled with love, laughter, diverse situations and all were hope and lives filled with God’s presence. R. Fody November 17, 2023
This is a delightful collection of holiday stories from various authors. The stories are all sweet and clean -- completely appropriate for your grandmother or your daughter. A holiday treat to set the tone for your Christmas season. Highly recommend.
I picked up this anthology hoping to get a couple of cute Christmas adventures. Instead what I got was trauma😢😒. I end up skipping to the Emma St Clair story and didn't finish the last story. Definitely wouldn't recommend.
A wonderful collection of beautiful ,Christmas miracles!
I absolutely loved this wonderful book. What a wonderful collection of Authors! Each one is a brilliant writer and storyteller! I Hated for this book to end!
What a fantastic and inspiring anthology! My favourite was Come Tomorrow by Tess Thompson. I've read quite a few of her books and they're always wonderful. This anthology is the perfect Christmas binge read 🎅!
