* Book #5 of Breeds series / Book #1 of Coyote Breeds series
Mother Nature has a way of making the most unlikely couples ‘fit’. And what could be more unlikely than a sassy, independent President’s daughter who doesn’t know when to keep her mouth shut and a loner Coyote Breed with a hunger for a cute rosebud mouth that he’s determined to still.
The vote for Breed Law is coming down the pike. Kiowa’s job is to watch Amanda, the President’s daughter—look, but not touch. Just make sure the Goof Troop, the Secret Service detail assigned to protect her, do their job until the law is passed.
But when they don’t and the bad guys move in to take her out, Kiowa reluctantly slips in to the rescue, snatching her away to safety. But she isn’t going to come easy and it takes more than smooth talking to make her see his point of view.
For a man who’s had nothing, Amanda Marion is food for the hunger that has tortured him, the reality to every dream Kiowa never dared believe in. What he feels for her is more than heat, more than love. She breathes life into his hardened heart, melting the icy chill that has protected him all his life, and touches a part of him that he thought had died—his soul. And now he’ll kill anyone who tries to take her away from him.
But the one person he can’t fight is Amanda, and when she wants to leave…

Lora Leigh is a New York Times bestselling author of erotic romance novels. Leigh started publishing with electronic publisher Ellora's Cave in 2003. Leigh's longest-running series is The Breeds. She won the 2009 RT Award for erotica. Leigh was born in Ohio and raised in Martin County, Kentucky, US.
Breeds 5 Coyote Breeds 1 Location: Virginia Mountains – Feline Breeds’ base Featured Couple: Kiowa (Coyote) & Amanda (Human)
Kiowa is the bodyguard for the president's daughter, Amanda. Amanda does not know that he is watching her and protecting her. Thus, when one day he kidnaps her trying to protect her, she thinks he wants to harm her. Kiowa unable to resist, he kisses the tied up Amanda and the mating heat kicks in. But they stop.
Kiowa and his assistants are trying to drive Amanda to the Feline’s base to protect her. The whole story after that is hot mess. Both of them are trying to resist their attraction. Amanda admits she is a virgin and Kiowa makes sure she stops being one and not in a very gentle way. Steamy scenes at the back seat of the car, both of them not minding there is audience. Dash Sinclair on the phone keeps shouting they need to stop touching each other and be patient until they reach the base. The other passengers rushing out of the car, leaving them alone. Of course no stopping after that.
Things will NOT get better when they reach the Virginia mountains and the base. Even before they open the door of their cabin, they are ripping each other clothes.
I think this is one of the hottest, steamiest books in the Breeds series and definitely funny at times.
Other things worth mentioned about this book: -This is the first book about Coyote Breeds (the lowest of the Breeds). -A new Breed law which will protect Breeds is under voting. - Animals that have been brought in the surrounding forests, protect the compound. -Cassie still as a child visits Kiowa to talk to him about his mother's ghost.
Of all Lora Leigh's Breeds books, this one is still my favorite. Something about this one just touched me emotionally. Kiowa is a Coyote breed (thought to be the lowest of the Breeds) who ends up protecting the President's schoolteacher daughter, Amanda, from kidnappers. A new Breed Law is due to be passed, and blood supremacists want to force a 'no' vote for breed's rights from the President--so they try to kidnap his daughter. The Breeds need to keep Amanda protected until this new law is passed.
I loved the pairing of Kiowa and Amanda! When these two got together it was hot, hot, hot! Kiowa had such a lousy, loveless upbringing (he was not raised in the labs like most Breeds, but by a grandfather who hated him) that I really wanted him to find some happiness. And Amanda was just the woman to give him that... This one actually made me cry, and that's rare for me with a Breeds book!
I didn't like the heroine, Amanda. Somewhere in the middle of the book, Kiowa said something like "she's a child" and, I'm sorry to say, I had to agree with him. Her failed attempt to escape the Sanctuary later didn't help to improve my opinion about her either.
I liked the hero, Kiowa, better but he came across too rough to take sometimes. If LL was trying to show that Coyote Breeds are bad hard-asses, I think she's succeeded.
As much as it pains me to say this, the sex scenes didn't do it for me in this book and I skimmed through most of them. I was actually kinda turned off by their first encounter at the motel - I mean, she was tied and gagged! Not my thing, I'm afraid.
The continuing story arc remains interesting, with the passing of Breed Law - I can only imagine the amount of action we'll get from "unleashing" the Breeds into the world - and what looks like some progress in the search for a "cure" for the mating heat. Not that I think the mating heat is a disease, but it would be nice to see some couples falling in love BEFORE being hit with all that hormonal charge.
On Halloween night, a mere week before the important Breed Law is passed, Amanda Marion, the president's daughter, is almost kidnapped. Almost, because Kiowa is there to snatch her out of her would-be captor's hands and whisk her away to safety.
Unaware of the "mating issue", Kiowa kisses her to keep her quiet, unleashing the full blast of the hormonal heat on their heads. Unfortunately, he's also a Coyote Breed, the kind the Council bred for jailer duty. The Breed species everyone assumes is soulless...
This was too short, too rushed, too freaking contrived, it shot my concentration to hell. There was too much emphasis on the Breed Law, a few sentences would've been enough, not enough emphasis on Kiowa and Amanda and their budding romance, and once again, what space Ms. Leigh could've used to expand on that one, she spent in steamy, scenes and too much tidbits on Amanda's presumed perversion. If she liked the pain so much, Kiowa should've just left her there to suffer and get it over with, instead of agonizing over the fact he couldn't have her, but couldn't let her go...Blah, blah, blah.
In the end Amanda was right, Kiowa was self-sacrificing (said in a sarcastic tone). I know he had it tough as a kid, but that was no excuse to mope around, feeling sorry for himself most of the time. I got the feeling, that he's made that final decision only so he could suffer more and not because he was doing her any favors. Wasn't he just a knight in shining armor. *eye-roll* At the beginning Amanda was truly what he told her she was - a child. Throwing tantrums because she couldn't have it her way, prejudiced, spoiled, sticking her head in the sand...Made me want to slap her. Repeatedly...But as the story progressed, she turned out to be the more mature of the two.
The saving grace of it all were the secondary characters. It was great seeing Dash again, bless his soul, Callan, Merinus, Doc Martin, and little Cassie (we finally got an explanation on the whole "fairy thing"). And the little tidbit about Dawn and Seth made me want to read her book even more.
If it were just a tad longer, maybe the story would've improved, earning a higher rating, but I seriously doubt it. It's an EC publication after all and no one could accuse EC of caring a fart whether the book had any story at all...Unfortunately. I'd say read it as part of the series, but don't expect any revelations or important facts, and don't expect more than what you know you get from EC. Disappointing.
I am really loving this series and the Breed World and this one is another story I liked very much.
Kiowa is a coyote breed and I absolutely adored him. Such a sad and lonely life he had and I was happy that he found his mate...Amanda, the President's daughter. She did drive me a bit crazy in the beginning, but by the end I actually fell in love with her.
Loved meeting up with the characters I met in the previous book, especially Cassie. She's truly a magical being.
This is probably one of the few Breeds tales that I missed from back in the day ,thus was truly appreciated! All of the Breeds tales are Scorchingly erotic, with Ellora's Cave carrying the highest percentage! The level of yearning these Mates have for one another is truly breathtaking. Immediate and recurrent "physical interactions"are a essential and an absolute timely requirement once the mating heat is initiated having been instigated by a kiss that causes induction of a mating hormone .However, they soon discover this is demonstrative of the deepest depths of love and connection . If one is not familiar with Lora Leigh's Breeds, they are not shifter bit a genetic concoction of animal and human DNA devised by an evil operation whose goal was to create the ultimate weapon;a subservient, ethically vacuous super soldier.Much to their dismay, they created an arguably superior being with heightened strength, senses and mores\ethical ethos. Most significantly of course is their extremely potent sensuality and sexuality ...and extended life span. In addition to the impressive ,exceptional and uniquely titillating experience these characters and tales provide, there is no dearth of emotional impact . I felt near tears several times ! The abuses they sustained were likely related to faulty humanity,ie jealously and fear. The horrific mistreatment and prejudices levied against the breeds was a hard pill to swallow and was especially difficult due the the stunning cruelty rendered upon breed youth along with general and repeated attempts at genocide . In addition to the awe inspiring passion and carnality, demonstration of their capability towards the most powerful of emotional connections can not be understated,my waterworks also symptomatic of such! I also speak to the series as a whole. This world also includes mysterious elements and exhibits no dearth of action, danger or suspense...However,I highly recommend to friends who seek and or appreciate a unique emotional and sensually driven,"smut-tastic " extravaganza!😂 Additionally, the experience was enhanced the audio version!

3.5 Stars I'll say this about the Breeds books: they are consistent. The very same things that were so good in the previous installments are good here, just as the same things that bothered me before are back again. It's an intensely sexual ride with a reluctant female and the alpha-hole mate who loves her.
In this case, our hero is a coyote shifter named Kiowa. He has been serving as a stealth bodyguard for the president's daughter, protecting her against those who would use her against her father to shape the Breeds political agenda. He is called into action when he witnesses her kidnapping. He saves her, but that is only the beginning of their story.
Amanda is unconscious during the rescue, but for some flimsy reason, Kiowa has her tied up when she wakes. When she tries to scream, he silences her with a kiss and thus begins their mating. From the the first taste of his tongue, Amanda is unable to fight her intense attraction to her captor/ savior. And they proceed to get busy right away... never mind the fact that she is still tied up. From there, they end up moving to the protection of the other Breeds, where they both learn what their frisky funtime really means for their future.
The sex is crazy hot. Crazy hot. But it made me uncomfortable at times when I let myself think about how little say-so Amanda had in the matter. She is also into a little bit of pain and submission, which isn't my thing, but it didn't bother me too much because she really took the lead on that side of their sexual relationship.
Kiowa is a lonely soul, suffering from a miserable childhood filled with emotional abuse and isolation. There is no part of him that believes Amanda will ever love him, and for me, that was his saving grace. It's hard not to feel for a hero that feels unworthy of love, even if he is an asshat sometimes as a result.
This is not deeply emotional or thought provoking. It's a hot sex book. And it does its job well... even if we were subjected to an overabundance of the word honey (honeyed heat, honey and spice, and so on.) I think it popped up 19 times. But who's counting??
Kiowa was very deprived from birth. He was raised in a shack with little of nothing to live with. His grandfather brought him food when needed. His grandfather thought he was not fit to live in society since he was a breed.
Until Kiowa met the President's daughter Amanda, he thought he would never know love. His job was to watch her and protect her however, he could not keep himself from that one kiss-that's all it took.
He eventually marks her and she has accepted it but is not sure how to reveal it to her father. He wants the life with her but is waiting on the new breed law to take effect since the breeds have come into civilization. He's not sure how he's going to become a part of it.
This book is steamy and a lot of sexy scenes. It's not one of my faves but want to continue with the series. You'll like it.
The h is US president's daughter! And also a school teacher. The angry H was abused by his grandfather. The heroine's love helped H to find his place in the world. Sweet couple.
this will have spoilers but let's be real you're not reading this book for the "plot"
okay because like what in the world did I just listen to (audiobook)??? first of all, if i EVER hear, read, see, etc. the word "juices" used in that context or to mean that EVER AGAIN im going to walk into the ocean and let nature run its course on me because that made me want to throw up. also she is almost kidnapped then actually kidnapped by MMC but not actually kidnapped because they were the "good guys" which makes zero sense and i simply didn't understand any of that. then there was also the whole letting someone use your house's bathroom on halloween which is just a no for me dawg. and they start doing it on like the 2nd or 3rd chapter and don't finish until like the 10th and in that time we find out that she is ovulating, into some kinky stuff, they are mates, and a bunch of stuff about blood supremacy which is just absolutely wild to me because what the hell. i also read this as an audiobook and listening to people describe smut makes me super uncomfortable and i hated that but that's more on me for forgetting this fact. and then they do it for 3 days, they both try to run away, two weeks of no contact later and they are saying their in love with one another????????? this is just so exceptionally wattpad that it hurt and the sexism and slight moment of racism where just nails in the coffin really
I ordered and read this book based on Amazon reviews. I never thought that Amazon reviews would do me wrong…but they did. Big time! I’ve read a lot of romances but I’ve never read a romance with such blatant and repetitive crude language. In nearly every paragraph the words C**t and P***y are repeated multiple times as the only description for the sexual intimacy between the two main characters. The author—who I’m convinced is really a man based on the language and plot, which I will get to in a minute—didn’t seem to have a very diverse vocabulary.
The plot makes me believe the author has a grudge against women. The premise is that when the heroine (Amanda) gets kissed by the hero (Kiowa a coyote breed) a chemical invades her body and makes her go into heat for the hero. If she refuses to have sex with him her body will become increasingly uncomfortable until the point of debilitating pain. Only when she gives in and has sex with the Kiowa does the pain go away, only to start the process all over again. Also, if the Amanda is touched by another man besides Kiowa she feels excruciating pain, even if the other man is only trying to help her.
The amount of pain Amanda goes through throughout the book is disturbing. The lack of communication and intimate connection between the two main characters is irritating and unromantic. The hero really doesn’t care about Amanda’s pain throughout the story, and often threatens her when she doesn’t cooperate. Plus, when Amanda is drugged into having sex with Kiowa for the first time she’s a virgin! But she acts like a pro, and afterward doesn’t mention it or even think about her drug induced lost virginity, which was more like rape since she was tied up at the time and out of her head. The whole thing is skipped over and forgotten, and (Hello!) losing your virginity is a huge deal.
Another thing I just couldn’t swallow (hehe) is the fact that Amanda is the daughter of the president of the United States of America but her language is as crude as the authors. I guess the author just couldn’t separate himself from a prissy, rich, virgin female.
Never does Amanda and Kiowa act like they love, like, or can even tolerate each other, Oh, except when Amanda is in horrific blinding pain from not getting her sex on. There was absolutely no romance and I really hated the fact that Amanda never had a choice, she didn’t invite the kiss that sealed her fate, and if she doesn’t stay with Kiowa she’ll die from pain.
Of shorter novella length but still a very decent size, i think it's around the 180-page mark or thereabouts. I know I've rated a lot of this series in the 3-star range but that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying them. These for me or at least the earlier books are easy-read, pallete cleansers. leaving out Elisabeth Wolf which had a lot more depth, there just not that deep, which is a positive thing as I'm not reading them for that aspect. This series is hot filthy and seriously addictive.
Kiowa is a cougar breed, the lowest and most despised of the Breeds to come out of the lab. They are rumoured to have no soul and were the genetic council's go-to soldier for all the nasty jobs considering their supposed lack of honour. Amanda is the daughter of the president, the man responsible for passing legislation that will benefit the breed community. When a bungled kidnapping sees Kiowa reluctantly stepping in he finds himself with more than he bargained for. Now mates Kiowa and Amanda have to find some middle ground, especially considering they are still virtual strangers.
This one was red hot and the chemistry between these two was off the charts. Kiowa has an uphill battle to get Amanda to accept his place in her life. He's raw rough and blunt and the perfect match for his new mate especially in the bedroom department.
Again this wasn't that deep but it did have some lovely sentiments and Kiowa's past was truly heartbreaking to discover. Amanda was likable if rather stubborn and this was overall an enjoyable experience. I'm looking forward to progressing further into this series as I remember the later books after this author split from Ellora's Cave were so much better.
Sent on to the pro-breed president’s daughter’s secret service detail only as backup - Coyote Breed Kiowa is not surprised when the team assigned to protect her seemingly slips up. Now Amanda Marion’s unwilling rescuer, Kiowa whisks her away only to have things go from bad to worse when the two start displaying symptoms of drugs in their system. Only its not drugs, it’s “the heat”- a mating syndrome known only to the genetically altered “Breeds” created by man to build a better soldier. Now Kiowa must hideout with Amanda until the rest of the Breeds can get to the bottom of her attempted abduction. But Kiowa had come to believe he had no soul so how can he give himself to Amanda the way she now demanded?
Kiowa’s immediate lust for Amanda snares the reader from the moment he comes on the pages. At first she fights the attraction- when she’s not consumed by the heat- but when she gives into the lust, it gets even hotter. (She likes it salty and stinging. :P)
I loved Kiowa- unapologetically Dominate. Loved. Him. His backstory gave him more depth then these erotic novels usually have- definitely more then I’ve seen later on in this series. Amanda Marion eventually becomes the soul for a man desperate for someone to love him for who he is. And really isn’t that what a romance novel should be all about.
Soul Deep has gotta be one of the best of this series.
Soul Deep was an interesting read but I was not a fan of the HEA. Amanda eventually redeemed herself in my eyes at the end but I really wanted to punch her at times. Now Kiowa was interesting to read about and his story is truly sad. It was great to finally learn what the fairy Cassie speaks to is a very interesting idea. Will continue reading, really looking forward to Dawn's book and Tanner's as well.
I think Soul Deep is in the top 2 or 3 of the Breed books by Lora Leigh. I really loved Kiowa. He was so alpha yet so very vulnerable when it came to loving and being loved. Although I wasn't crazy about Amanda, I think she was a good fit with Kiowa for a mate.

ePublisher Ellora's Cave coined a new word when it began publishing its particular brand of romance: romantica. It means a romance story with explicit sexual encounters that still focuses more on the romance than the sex and doesn't really fall into the class of erotica. In all honesty, I'm not sure if it's a true division between two genres or a way to make erotica more palatable to the general reading public. I haven't really read anything officially classed as the latter, so I can't compare.
Ellora's Cave certainly isn't the only epublisher (or print publisher for that matter) that publishes these kinds of books, but they have the trademark on the word and they publish Lora Leigh. And Lora Leigh definitely falls into the definition of romance with explicit sex. The romance is lovely and the sex scenes are well written, but don't pick up this book if you don't want details and blunt words and terminology.
A friend introduced me to Leigh's Breeds series a year or two ago and I enjoyed the concept and outer storyline as much as the individual romance. (I suppose that reads kind of like someone claiming to read Playboy for the articles, but I promise, it really is true.) That general concept is that a group of corrupt and highly-placed individuals created a new race of humans by mixing human DNA with that of wolves or big cats. The resulting "specimens" were badly treated and have recently broken free. Their creators were killed, captured or have gone to ground and the Breeds are now trying to find a safe place for themselves in the world, hounded on all sides by curious people, human supremacists and the remainder of the Council who created them.
Each book I've read so far features a couple who find themselves mated, a biological imperative they can't resist (which is what leads to all the sex), and have to figure their way through this difficult way to start a relationship. Leigh does a very good job of exploring the idea of biology versus emotion as each couple tries to figure out what part of their attraction is biological and what part is truly about learning to love the other person. The plotlines are a little repetitive if you pare them down to the basics, I admit, but Leigh manages to create individual characters than make the books different and each one enjoyable.
After Soul Deep in the Breed chronology, she was picked up by New York publisher, Berkley, and that's pretty much where I originally stalled on reading the series, when she suddenly moved to the stories of two characters we had never heard of before and apparently dropped the over-arcing story of the progress of the Breeds in building a community. A little later, still publishing with Berkley, she went back to the initial group of characters. At that point, I was interested again. But being me, I still felt the need to read all the books and in the correct order. So I went back to the beginning and reread my Ellora's Cave books. I now have a short story and one Berkley novel to reread and I'm up to the new books.
Goodness, what a lot of preliminary information before I even get to talking about the book itself!
Soul Deep pairs human Amanda Marion with Coyote Breed Kiowa. Amanda's father has just become President and an important vote is about to occur on a law that will essentially give the Breeds the right to police their own and take the law into their own hands when they are threatened. Worried that if anything happens to Amanda, President Marion may not vote for Breed Law as expected, Kiowa has been asked to keep an eye on Amanda as a backup to her normal security. Unsurprisingly, her security is compromised and she is kidnapped. Kiowa resuces her and suddenly finds himself responsible for the President's daughter and not daring to return her until the hole in her security is found and plugged. Kissing her to keep her quiet, he sets their mating in motion and from there, everything goes to hell.
He and Amanda end up at the Breed compound, trying to figure out how to relate to each other (outside sex; they've got the sex party pretty much all worked out) and find out if they have a relationship outside the bedroom. Amanda desperately wants to know she might have loved Kiowa regardless of the mating process, while he, already sure that he was falling for her long before he kissed her, is determined not to let her go. Soul Deep is a short book (coming in between 45K and 70K words) so there's a lot of story, romance (and sex of course) to fit into a small number of pages. Leigh does it well, and while it requires the frequent romance novel requirement of suspending disbelief to accept that a couple can fall in love forever in a few days (something I accept is possible but don't believe is usual in real life), and this is an enjoyable story with a satisfying conclusion.
I never know where to tell someone interested in the Breed series to start reading. Each book is complete and this one could easily be read by someone who hasn't read any of the others, but there are a number of secondary characters who it helps to have met already in the previous books. If you don't mind explicit sex, I suggest trying Tempting the Beast from Ellora's Cave. If you'd rather have it toned down a little (but still hot), try either the short story in Hot Spell or Megan's Mark from Berkley. Or, if this one sounds interesting, start here. It'll work out fine.
Soul Deep Lora Leigh The Breeds, Book 5 (Coyote Breeds, Book 1) 8/10
HOT STUFF! This was definitely seriously hot reading! Lora Leigh never disappoints when you are looking for some seriously erotic romance. This was my first experience with her breeds series... it did not disappoint. I am looking forward to others in this series.
I wasn't expecting anything from this since the characters were unfamiliar to me. Ms Leigh introduced a new set of breeds (Coyote) and I was thrown off balance since the one before this clearly hinted at Dawn and Seth's upcoming story - which would come 6 stories after I think (correct me if I'm wrong).
The introduction was a little slow and it could've been a robot's voice overhead but everything was suddenly alive when Amanda entered the picture. She's full of life, and Ms Leigh really painted a picture of the schoolteacher who loves kids, and she's also the newly-elected President's daughter.
Kiowa was backup security and was quickly shoved to the primary security role after Amanda was attacked. The attraction was instant at least on Kiowa's part since he's been watching her for weeks. It's amusing how he doesn't know what's happening to him - that the hormones from his tongue were caused by having found his mate, and an aphrodisiac too - and more amusing when he learned about it through a non-Breed.
I loved the story, this one's a little different because Kiowa and Amanda didn't know each other at all and she's as real as any of us, questioning the basic foundation of a good relationship (which is not solely based on sexual attraction). Things happened to fast and before anyone could know it, they're mated for life.
My heart went out to Kiowa whenever he remembers the harshness of his grandfather, and longing for the mother he's never known. It brought tears to my eyes when Cassie told him about his mother's ghost always with him, and it answered the question about Cassie's fairy, that she's psychic and could talk to ghosts.
Now, the sex scenes couldn't get any better, I loved the kinkiness and how Kiowa was the answer to Amanda's every sexual fantasy, they hit it off well. Beneath all that lust are emotions and little by little they fell in love - or Amanda reciprocated because Kiowa claims he loved her before he met her.
Vom 5.
This is a very emotional book. Kiowa is such a terribly abused and unloved child. You have to wonder how he ever became the caring and honorable man that he is. This story had me crying at the end. He wants so much and thinks that he can't have it because he is a Breed. I know the others were probably more badly abused but Kiowa wasn't raised in the Labs and should have had a better life.
Amanda just wants to live in peace which can't happen when you are the daughter of the president. She is a strong and independent woman but there are times you just want to shake her. She is so determined to be free she almost throws away a love that will last until she dies. I will also say that she is brave. Allowing tests to be done that might one day help other Breed pairs with the painful mating heat.
This is also the shortest story to date. There is a lot packed into the story and it definitely won't disappoint any of the fans of this series. While there weren't any additional characters introduced the reader does get to see more of Tanner and Dawn's personalities. You also see how the animals that have been brought in to protect the compound interact with the Breeds. It is very interesting. A definite recommend.
This read almost like a short story, only 194 pages. I really enjoy the earlier breed books because the mating heat and it's effects are a mystery to the Breeds. Amanda has been kidnapped, and has both arms and legs bound when she awakens in terror. When she attempts to scream, Kiowa kisses her to silence her but unknowingly unleashes the mating hormone. OMG I think he would have taken her while she was still tied up if they hadn't been interrupted...The effects of the mating heat on Amanda and Kiowa were the most intense I can recall and the scene in the back seat of the jeep had me laughing out loud as the driver has to pull over and get out of the car because these two didn't care that they had an audience. LOL
This book was funny at times but very steamy. There was a sound plot, good character development and a happy ending for a Coyote that had been raised without knowing love.
OMG I loved this book....... It was emotionally charged the whole way through. It was like reading a car crash, painful to watch but you just can't seem to stop watching. Reading this was painful at times because of the intense emotions so beautiful written on the pages. This instalment has a few more kinks then the books before it and if all coyotes are like him then I want to take one home please. This is the first of the coyotes book and I will be buying the others ASAP along with the rest of this series.
This was by far the best of the breeds! It was a quick read, full of action from start to finish. Non-stop. It was a a wildly delicious and wicked read and Kiowas and Amanda were a match made in heaven.
I really enjoyed these characters. We got to see many of the characters from previous books, and some we know will be showing up in later books.
This is the fifth book in Lora Leigh's Breeds series. In earlier books we've been introduced a bit to the Coyote Breeds and how ruthless they are. I was wondering how the traits attributed to the breed would work in a love story. This story has intense scenes. Our heroine Amanda doesn't put up with much from her protector Kiowa.
I remember now why I gave this book 2 stars. Clocking in at 188 pages this book should not be 75% sex scenes. If there book is going to be that short it needs more plot, and because of this I didn't find either of the leads likable. Still we finally get confirmation in this book about the mystery surrounding Cassie's "fairy"... so that's something.
