She’s the one that got away. He’s the one she wishes would go away.
TATE: Rich, famous, and trolled by a relentless online nemesis, my life is a mess. My agent insists I date a “nice girl” to save my career. Easier said than done when my naked butt is trending higher than my latest movie. But there is one woman from my past, a fiery encounter I never forgot. Too bad she’d rather poison me than play my game.
JESSIE: Let’s get this straight—I HATE Tate Blingwood. Our one-night stand was supposed to be just that, but now I’ve got a precious daughter to raise on my own. To make matters worse, he’s everywhere, and I’m not just talking about my fantasies. Tate’s career has hit the skids and he’s on all the news stations and social media sites. Making revenge meme’s was just supposed to be a little fun to keep me sane and keep his enormous ego in check. I didn’t expect it to bite me on the ass when he ends up seeking refuge at the resort I live and work in. Now, I have to cater to Tate’s every need. It’d take an Oscar worthy performance for me to fall for his charms again. So why is my heart racing each time he walks in the room?
CATCH A FALLING STAR is a steamy romcom must read for fans of enemies-to-lovers, secret baby, workplace romance, second chance, and billionaire hero tropes. It can be read as a standalone novel and features on-page sizzle, a very happy ending and no cheating.
I was rlly excited when I started this book, but then everything went downhill after a couple of chapters 😭
I’m tired of FMCs with the body-betraying syndrome!! It's said that she hates him (she even has a social media page dedicated to mock him!!), but she jumps his bones after years not seeing 💀
The secret baby trope was not handled well 😐 There was no real scene where the MMC was bonding with Macy 😭
Not for me. Just didn't get into any of the characters. Didn't find the fmc believable. Also, most of the shit she does in the beginning isn't funny or quirky and a cool way to get petty revenge - it's just cringy and wasteful and makes her look like a shit employee rather than a righteously angry woman.
Maybe I should've read the previous books in the series, even though this is a standalone.
This book just wasn’t doing it for me personally I kind of felt like MFC was a bit childish to the whole situation and I’m also not a fan of Insta love Just my preference I guess
Miscommunication trope done poorly. It was a ok book but mildly infuriating and FMC kept giving in to the MC too quickjly and just blaming it on her body needing him..... Bleugh!
I enjoyed the book, it was cute. The only thing that got me was how they are paid such amazing money, with bonuses, no food costs, no rent costs, or car payments and still be so broke?
Nope I’m sorry…the first 2 books were incredible and I loved the chemistry in them! This one however…felt rushed :( the way she fell into bed with him instantly?? After hating him? Then she’s just happy to put her daughter who she’d protected straight into the limelight…really liked the idea of this book but it didn’t deliver :(
It was cute. Hallmark like with a movie star who goes into hiding and finds the one night stand he never stopped dream about.
Jessie’s the head maid for the resort and tasked with taking care of Tate while he is in hiding.
Tate is a movie star who had some slip up and his reputation is on a downward trend. He never stopped thinking of Jessie, and how he left her that night after finding out about his big break. He’s wished all along that she would have called. And now that he’s found her he wants to find out if the chemistry they shared that one night can turn into something more.
Tate finds out he has a daughter from that one night stand and it makes him grow up and take his situation with the media more seriously. He’s going to fix his reputation and secure his finances so he can care for both Jessie and Macy.
Jessie’s family is bomb. I loved them all and would totally read a series with them.
Tate’s family is as kind and caring as always when they find out the truth about Macy.
One thing that bugged me is we never find out who stole his clothes and locked him out with the paparazzi. It triggered the whole story and yet we don’t know who was plotting his down fall.
The book was a cute easy read. Probably won’t search out this author to read again, but if I stumble upon her I’ll give the book a chance.

I adored this series! I'm sad it's over, and I'm so grateful I got the chance to be an ARC reader for them ❤️ The series is so full of well rounded characters, comedic moments, banter, sexual tension, and the perfect happily ever afters for charcters we all love. Catch A Falling Star is such a clever title. "I was falling before I met you, and you caught me." -Tate Blingwood
Tate is an A list movie star with a wild side that often lands him in trouble. Especially when an internet troll who goes by the alias "BabyMomma4You" gets ahold of any photos or videos of his tomfoolery. Some of which nearly costs him a big contract and his career.
Jessie is a strong, independent, hard working woman. She's a single mother, who works full time as a maid at her baby daddy's brothers resort! When Tates actions land him in trouble and needing to lay low at the resort, Jessie finds herself at Tates beck and call.
Tropes: bosses brother, secret baby, second chance, billionaire, celebrity
The trilogy. Tate and Jessie story is perfect. I thought I was going to dislike Jessie character because at the beginning she acts childish by not taking his food and tying his shoe laces. Then I thought the story would drag their encounter and Tate meeting his daughter. But the story got to the point. Jessie had been mad thinking Tate was not interested in meeting his daughter but Tate was not aware he was going to be a dad from the one night stand he had with the girl he always thought about. With Jessie help and he fact he wants to be a responsible dad he starts to clean his image to get the deal of his life to take care of his family. Jessie still unsure if he is there to stay or if it’s all fake. But once he finds out she is the troll Babymama4you and still wants her she realizes he is there for the long run and there is the possibility she might be pregnant again.

Jessie and Tate’s story was a rollercoaster but it was a good one! Anytime things seemed to be going steady there was an obstacle that came up. Enjoyed this read and getting to see the characters from the previous books show up again!
Jessie is a very strong female character raising her two year old daughter Macy. Jessie is tough, hard working, loving and puts her daughter first. Tate is a Hollywood star that got into some trouble and Jessie is the one who saved him. In the beginning he seemed stuck up but once we got to see more of him he was kind, caring and loving. Jessie and Tate had a fake dating contract but those never seem to work. Jessie did her part and caught the falling star and in the process they fell in love.
Tate and Jessie were super sweet and fun together as a couple and Macy was adorable. The journey these two went on to get their HEA was so layered and I really enjoyed how it played out. Starting as a one night fling on break that turned into some serious miscommunication to finally being reunited a few years later. It was a rollercoaster of emotions for them.
Tate is so light and playful in spirit but he takes to fatherhood so quickly that you will swoon. Jessie is a bit harder to win over and has some trauma from her own childhood that is holding her back a bit. I really enjoyed the banter these two had and it made for some great tension too
I really enjoyed reading Tate and Jesse’s story and how their first encounter offset by the demands of Hollywood set the story on its original path. A life of fame and fortune just seems so difficult when Tate was in the limelight, making himself a target for any criticism. I found Jesse’s portion of the story very real involving the pressures and complex decisions of single parenting. I found bringing these two worlds together made a great story. Although trust issues and hurt feelings in the past remained, it was satisfying to see these two break down barriers to actually share their thoughts and feelings and connect with each other on a deeper level.
People need to realize it is a fictional book. idk why there are so many negative comments (yes, I know everyone is entitled to opinions, but damn 🤷♀️). I, for one, loved this book 🥰 straight to the point in Chapter 1, and it moves forward. Jessie is protecting her heart, and I love how Tate takes the time to understand her and be there for her. This is 🌶🌶 and ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read for me. I can not wait to read more of Emily James books 😍 *Short read 268 pages, so is a fast read 😆 *One night stand😏 *FMC maid MMC actor *Forced proximity *Fake dating (is one-sided 😆) *Adorable 2 year child from that one night 😉
This book has all of my favorite tropes so it was a winner from the get-go. However, it was amazing seeing Jessie and Tate reconnect through a fake dating contract 🤪. We all know how fake dating turns out but the fact that there’s a secret baby just adds to the excitement of Jessie and Tate’s HEA. I’ve read all the books in the standalone series and they’re all great, so choose your adventure of how you want to join the world of the Blingwood billionaires. Would def recommend starting from the beginning so you get hints of what happens in this book, but it's up to you!
Jessi and Tate reconnect three years after having a one night stand that ended with a secret baby. To help repair Tate’s reputation, Jessi decides to help change her baby daddy’s image to a family man. Their relationship quickly becomes real especially when Tate finds out that Jessi is his biggest online troll.
I think this is a perfect “cleanser” book. It’s a cute, happy book that makes you giddy with the love that two characters share. The secret baby, Macy, provides the perfect amount of angst and drama to add to the plot.
Tate is an A-list actor who has had a ton of bad press recently. He's in desperate need of a hideout and good press. So he goes to stay at his brother's hotel and is sequestered in one of the penthouses. He only sees his Mom, brothers, and the maid.
Jesse is a single mom and head of housekeeping at the hotel. Of course, it makes sense that they would trust her to babysit the owners brother. But she's got a few secrets, and she doesn't want Tate to find them out.
I really enjoyed this book, the whole series, really. They are cute and easy reads.
I genuinely loved this book and loved this series. It was the perfect amount of fluff and just everything I didn’t think that I needed. When I started reading the series, I was really looking for a palette cleanser. And then I came across the first book and absolutely loved it. I really love and adore the fact that the author went to such ends to show us the development of love and relationships through the different pairs of eyes of these three different women and three different men. She did wonderfully. Thank you, Emily James, for writing this really adorable series. Well done.
I was hooked onto this book from the star, I love second chance stories. Through the book you get funny, antsy & a lot of spicy moments. Jessie’s pettiness is unmatched & had me laughing through that book. I also really loved the story line of a secret baby & how they navigated their turbulent relationship. Tate a definitely top notch baby daddy & I’m happy to see he got his HEA. Overall it was a great read & definitely recommend it.
Oof. I love a surprise baby trope, and really did adore how Tate jumped into the dad role. However this was meatless. He didn’t have to deal with meltdowns, middle of the night wake ups, diaper blowouts, or have any kind of learning curve, which kind of nullified the trope. The fake dating wasn’t even fake dating because they were banging before they even went with the plan. I had such high hopes for Jessie, and still loved her character, but I feel like this was all just fluff.
Not great. I liked some of the banter but disliked how much she claimed to hate him but slept with him within the first 5 minutes of seeing him again, as well as how quickly they became a little family it just felt so rushed. The fact that they also immediately get pregnant again is so stupid, and pulling out is not birth control. They could have solved all of their issues if they just communicated. was very insta love.
So I read Sorry not Sorry and was like I have to read them all!!! And I’m so glad I did because I have loved every single one of them. Jessie and Tate were an anticipation throughout the series that you just couldn’t wait to get to and I’m so glad I did. Their love hate relationship was so much more than that it was a love that you saw coming from a mile away even if she didn’t.
I’ve read all of the books from this series just in the past week. I don’t normally like books that pick up with different characters from the previous story but this one was too good to put down. Every book had something different and flowed so good into the next story and characters development. I loved every second of reading these.
First this book ties up the Blingwood boys quite nicely and I have loved reading Jessie's story. She was such a great supporting character in the first two books. If you are looking for a fun happily ever after read then I highly recommend this one. Hopefully we will be seeing a fourth book about the Blingwood sister
I picked up book one on a whim from a BookTok recommendation and burned through all 3 in the series within 4 days! These were beautifully written, funny, heartwarming, and sexy! Perfect summer beachy reads! Keeping my fingers crossed for more stories from this family! 🤞🤞
