Marguerite Mary Rigoglioso

The world's foremost authority on virgin birth, she is the author of The Mystery Tradition of Miraculous Conception: Mary and the Lineage of Virgin Births, as well as The Cult of Divine Birth in Ancient Greece, and Virgin Mother Goddesses of Antiquity. I have been waiting for this book my entire life. Mary is accessible to us all, and she was quite the healer and personality. I especially love the chapter on unicorns, as I have been drawn to unicorns all my life and even got a unicorn tattoo when I was young. It's time for the truth to come out and for us to truly know and understand who Mary and the Marys really are. Several apocryphal books are sources for the content of this book.

This was a DNR for me - as Mary is Theotokos, The Mother who gives birth to God - Jesus, the Word made Flesh. She is blessed amongst woman for her Fiat - YES - "Behold, I am the handmaiden of the Lord; let it be done to me according to what you have said" as Mary responds when told by the Messenger Angel Gabriel that she would bear the Messiah - Immanuel (God With Us). His Virgin birth was prophesied through Isaiah - God said that he would give the Israelites a new sign - a virgin would bear a son - and his name would be Wonderful Counselor, Prince of Peace, and that the Government would rest on his shoulders. He would be the Salvation of His people. Jeremiah the prophet also spoke of this New Man who would bring God's kingdom: 31:22 "How long will you waver, O faithless daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing on the earth: a woman encircles a man." Both of these prophets point to the Virgin Mary - who is given special recognition by all Christians for her role in Jesus' redemptive mission for all mankind - there is no ancient mystery priestess cult in the tradition of the Jewish religion, of which Mary and her family were devout followers. That is not to say that these practices did not exist. That the Israelites did fall for these practices can be found throughout the Torah. All occultic practices were an abomination to God, and this is shown over and over again in the biblical story. Mary was our "balm in Gilead" whom God visited and restored us to himself through his son, Jesus Christ.

There’s a lot in here, much of it reads like an alternate history, some of it like fanfiction to be sure, but I think the intentions are pure and it rings true on the most fundamental levels. One thing that I learned that I really liked was the idea that “Mary“ could be a title.
