The mental gymnastics Cordelia puts herself through in her drive to convince herself that Leonhart doesn't like her like her are truly impressive; this poor girl has been burned so badly by having her jerk of a younger sister Priscilla take everything of hers with their parents' blessing. Some of the fantasy elements don't quite add up, but this still looks like it'll be a fun series, if only because in every subject but Leonhart, Cordelia is nobody's fool.

I am pleasantly surprised how good this was!

Came in fully expecting fluffy shenanigans (no pun intended) and instead got quite a bit of depth to the storyline, politics, and a hero who is completely head over heels for a VERY smart and intelligent heroine!

I deeply enjoyed the fact that our "Beastly Prince" thinks Cordelia is beautiful when it comes to looks, but ultimately thinks she is beautiful because of her intelligence and her actions. The way she cares for her family despite the obvious neglect she has received from them for almost her entire life. It was satisfying because in my experience of reading manga with this trope, it's usually the looks that are center-focused, but that is not the case here. Plus, I love how she was called out for thinking so low of herself and that she does NOT have to think negatively concerning anything about herself. (You tell her Prince!! She desperately needs to hear that she has worth too!) It feels like she is trapped in fully believing she doesn't deserve any happy thing, which would make sense due to how her parents have treated her, but it hurts nonetheless to see.

I really liked the Prince! He's not as "deep" as a character compared to Cordelia in that he doesn't have as many layers to him, but I liked him nonetheless! I confess that I LOVED his lion form! Oh my goodness, he was SO cute with Cordelia, and felt sad on his behalf when she said she shouldn't be petting royalty. LOL! Girl, who cares! He's so cute! LOL!

I confess I didn't love the beginning of this volume and that is simply because I'm not a fan of politics. I was actually surprised by the heavy political tone in the beginning and how much scheming is taking place. I wasn't expecting that so I think if you like politics playing a role in a story, this is a good one in that regard!

Overall, I enjoyed reading this! I feel a little uncertain if I'll get volume two, but I definitely want my library to get it because I really hope that the romance between our leads blooms as that is what I am most looking forward to! They are so wonderful!

Dang it! When it’s good, the next volume isn’t out yet. When I don’t like it, it’s got 20 volumes!

This one I really enjoyed and dang it, it’s the only one!

I really hate the spoiled younger sister btw and the villainess is stupid, but I would love to see an isekai from her POV, just saying. :D

MC could stand to be a bit more confident, although I get that it's circumstances that made her so. But the mental gymnastics she's doing to make sense of things goes a big too far at times 😭 it is really cute so far though and I'm curious to see how the relationship will develop!

Cute new series

I like the pacing of this story, it gets through the setup quickly but still smooth. The prince is charming and the lion aspects make his playful nature extra cute. Not an original story but well enough written and with a solid MC.

On the surface, this seems similar to other popular series right now where one sibling is looked over or framed in some way to make the other seem better, and the one who is cast off finds themselves in an unlikely match. Cordelia may be the older sister, but her family dotes on her younger sister, Priscilla, who continually takes everything of Cordelia's that catches her eye, be it toys, dresses, or even fiancés. After four broken engagements, Cordelia feels done with the whole ordeal and focuses on her family's estate that she's been running in her father's stead. With this in mind, the last thing she expects is to catch the eye of Prince Leonhart, let alone learn his secret with the legendary lion. Despite Cordelia's confusion, the prince seems determined to win her over, no longer how long it takes. Good thing too given he's already saved her twice just in this short span.

Main character: hyper-competent, clever, insightful, level-headed, nigh-unflappable.

Also the main character: overthinks things so much she invents elaborate political machinations and a glove fetish to explain a cute guy showing interest in her.

Anyway, so far this series is a solid mix of cute romance with social drama that's petty and horrible without being overly grimdark. I want to see how things progress!

Worth-while read

This is a manga adaptation and I have NOT read the original work. As such, I can’t speak to how faithful of an adaptation it is. However, I can state that the artwork is well-executed with easy to follow dialogue. I intend to buy the next volume, as well, which is the highest compliment I can offer.
I like Cordelia and am interested in how things will progress from here.

surprisingly funny, with a whip-smart and likeable heroine. I can't wait for the inevitable scene of priscilla melting down when it becomes clear that leonhart is not going to fall for her like the other doofus fiances that cordelia's had....

I will say though, drawing animals and especially lions is definitely not this artist's strong suit. I cracked up at how derpy he looks in multiple panels, from multiple angles LOL.

Good read. The older sister gets the short end of the stick because everyone always dotes on the younger sister who's now a spoiled brat and wants everything her sister might possibly have including possible suitors. Except for the prince who doesn't see anyone but the older sister. So far I like it and want to read the next volume.

I liked it! Great to have another beastly romantic lead named “Leonhart” after finishing Sacrificial Princess, haha. The political maneuvering is interesting, and it’s nice to see actual reasons the Prince would fall in love with her beyond the instalove mates thing (that I’m sure is coming…). “You’re my catnip” is an adorable way of phrasing that. 😆

Maximum shenanigans romance avoidance! This one has a silly silly premise but I really like the heroine & how determined she is to find any and all possibly reasons why a romantic gesture means literally anything else (she kink shames a prince for bashing glove fetishists, which she had previously decided he was, what's not to love?). Is good silliness so far!

Huh….. this is much better than I thought it would be. In a way, it also handles the stereotypical tropes of royalty and sisterhood different. Perhaps, due to the beastfolk, I’m not bored reading another story about an awful family situation. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Loved this!

I really enjoyed this volume! The heroine is classy, bold, super intelligent, capable, and just all round awesome! I love how she is portrayed and how well the characters are developed. The storytelling is well paced, too. Definitely getting volume 2!

I was kind of thrown off by the title, but this was a pretty good first volume. I thought she would have accepted his proposal though. Cordelia is smart and that's refreshing. Let's just hope she doesn't keep pushing the prince away.

Very interesting premise,with the older sister who has to give up everything she likes to the whims of her spoiled little sister,and the prince who turns into a lion and seems infatuated with her.
