In a land without rules, passion has no boundaries. . . .
Analise Howard is powerless against the political tide along England's Scottish border. As a pawn for peace, she is married off to Ronan Armstrong, the Scottish leader of a fierce band of border reivers-men. Blessed with devilish charms, Ronan could make any woman forget her woes.
But the innocently seductive Analise is determined to escape, and her life with Ronan ignites into a war of its own.
Though treachery, not love, brought them together, Analise can not deny her growing desire. For with each caress, Ronan wins her trust--and home becomes a place of sweet enchantment in the arms of her boldest enemy. . . .
Found it impossible to get in to the book. It appears that Ms. Creel did her research for this novel - and wanted everyone to know about it. Every page is littered with new words in quotes and definitions are soon to follow. It reads more like a high school history book than an historical romance.
The hero is absolute perfection. He falls in love with the heroine at first sight, and even though she resists at first, she eventually gives in. Their marriage is incredibly sweet, but it follows a recurring pattern—he leaves for political duties while she stays behind, anxiously waiting and fearing for his safety, always worried he might be harmed or worse. I truly love this author’s work. She consistently writes flawless heroes with that irresistible caveman streak, and her plots never miss. It’s such a joy to find an author who thinks the way I do—she understands exactly what I like, and it shows in every story.
