I'm a seasoned intercessor and I learned a few things, was reminded of several things, and was spurred to put into practice many things that are available. This book encourages the followers of Jesus Christ and exhorts the lovers of Jehovah-God to stand against the defeated kingdom of darkness. The content calls forward the human spirit of the reader to engage the God-ordained authority that the resurrection of Jesus opened to us who receive and believe in Him.

Pummel the Devil is a very informative volume detailing the basics of Duval's perspective on spirituality. Filled with biographical anecdotes and biblical references, Duval presents a reservoir of rationale and tactics for understanding and combating spiritual powers.

N.B. Duval spends little to no time with any defence for his perspective, curating his message specifically for those already interested. He pays marginal attention to opposing perspectives, and, despite having an opinion, he is not aggressive with it---Duval seems relatively unconcerned whether or not the reader agrees with him.

One of my favorite elements of Duval's rhetoric is that he is not disparaging to opposing viewpoints. It can be difficult to find a perspective piece which does not raise it's own argument by demeaning others. Through the honesty of Duval's writing, the reader gets the idea that Duval prefers to tell people what he believes, not what he doesn't believe, and that differences of opinion, while inevitable, are only distractions from the topic at hand.
