From the author of Omah and The Reaping , the latter of which was a top ten finalists in Inkshares Mystery and Thriller contest, comes a horrifying novel set in 1989 along the Carolina Beaches. A ruthless serial killer is on the prowl for another victim and James and Rebecca Randolph may have just unknowingly invited him over for dinner. "I really enjoyed this book. The plot grew with an intense "who dun it" while surprising me with a twist I didn't anticipate. It's a great read in good vs. evil. You will find yourself questioning the validity of each character." - Happy Amazon Customer review for Devil's Den "Randall is a great storyteller!!! I've bought and read all of his books. After causing a horrendous accident at the Georgetown International Paper Mill, Ethan vanishes before further questioning. Locals are quick to term him the GTK or Georgetown Killer. 25 years later, after relocating to Holden Beach, James and Rebecca find themselves once again in the cross hairs of the GTK. As they consult the spiritual guidance of Native American Friends, they soon learn there is a lot more going on than meets the eye. Embarking on a Journey from Darkness to Light, passing through the Devil's Den along the way, they gain a whole new perspective of the saying, "Good vs Evil."
My name is Randall Lane, and I am an Author of all things Horror, Mystery, Suspense, and the Unexplained. I grew up loving and watching R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps. It wasn’t until the age of ten that I discovered a Frank Peretti novel titled "Monster" in a rural South Carolina Walmart. I never heard of the man, but thought the cover looked "cool". I read the book front to back at least three times that year. As soon as I learned it had something to do with Sasquatch, I couldn’t put it down. That book introduced me at an early age to the world of writing fiction. A little more than a decade later, I took the dive to become a writer and have yet to look back nor do I ever plan to. I enjoy developing unique and relatable characters who find themselves forced to confront terrifying circumstances.
Some of my most read authors include Stephen King, C.J. Box, Ted Dekker, Frank Peretti, Steven James, and James Lee Burke. I love the way these guys craft their stories, and their work has had a tremendous influence on my style and voice. If you enjoy reading a book from one of the fellows mentioned above, then my books will be right down your alley.
I enjoy kayak fishing, watching Brave's baseball games, and cooking various sorts of seafood while jamming out to some Creedence Clearwater Revival, Alabama, Bob Seger, etc. I'm also a huge fan of John Denver, Chuck Berry, Howlin Wolf, Hank Williams Sr, and so many others from the "good ol' days" as I'm quite the old soul at heart.

Whew, what a roller coaster of a ride! Wow, this book was so good. Randall is super talented in creating eerie vibes with atmospheric settings and diving deep into the psychology of the bad guys. This book is super creepy and suspenseful. It's nearly impossible to put down once you start so be sure you are ready to be engrossed in the story before you begin. I stayed up past midnight a few times turning the pages. I loved the characters and relationships among the family and friends. Randall made you care so much about them that you just had to keep reading to learn what happened next. And I loved the backstory he gave for the killer. The way he made you understand him so deeply was unnerving at times but made the story so much better. I don't like to read about bad guys just being bad for the sake of being bad. Randall gave the bad guy so many layers, it made sense for him to turn out the way he did and to want what he wanted. Nicely done, Randall!
I'm usually not a big reader of horror or scary books, but I really enjoy Randall's scary stuff. He doesn't write a lot of blood and guts type of horror, although it is mixed in when needed to add to the story, but he creeps you out more with the setting, atmosphere, and psychological makeup of the bad guys. His scary stories are super engaging because they have so much depth to them and he really brings the reader to care about the characters. It's like reading about your friends or own family. All the characters are unique and relatable. Even the bad guy. Randall's descriptions and characterization will leave you spellbound and effortlessly turning pages.
