Even if I was able to look past all the problematic parts in this book, I still couldn’t get past the uncomfortable relationship between Nico and Mia. It’s not even the age gap that’s the problem! But I feel like the author made it her sole mission to always describe Mia as “innocent, small, dainty,”. Nico even said she looks as though she could be in high school. I mean, come on! Just say that she looks like a child😭. Anyways, that weirded me out a lot. He was TOO obsessed with the fact that she looked like a literal child 👧🏼.
And the whole SA thing going on. TOO MUCH! SA is always gonna be uncomfortable, but the way it was handled in this book was awful!
I was literally about to throw my phone out the window when Nico accused Mia of WANTING to be assaulted. I WAS SO MAD!
And then homegirl really went home and convinced herself he only did that because he liked her😭😭 pleaaaase she needs help. I would’ve HATED a person if they said that to me.

Also the spicy scenes were so uncomfy:// their dynamic was just NOT IT, so the whole time it just felt like she was taken advantage of. I’m not saying she was!!! But the whole vibe just felt like it…

Also the way these college students were acting had me crying/laughing. I know middle schoolers that are more mature than this! I get that we needed some kind of conflict, but it could have been LITERALLY ANYTHING ELSE! Their juvenile acts just felt wayyyyy too unrealistic to me, or maybe that’s just how America is….🤷🏻‍♂️

Anyways, the book was extremely problematic and just generally very unpleasant. The first two books were pretty good so I really have no idea what happened to this one, but I guess not everything can be a winner right.

We started off strong with the pick me, in this one. As soon as I opened the book I knew where this was heading.

They could not stop mentioning how small, dainty and innocent she was. How young she was. How her being in college was an issue. How he never dated college girls. Key word GIRLS. Nico never once saw her as a woman, he saw her as a girl. He mentioned how her age was an issue almost every chapter. I mean if you're questioning it that much shouldn't you, I dont know, maybe stop pursuing her. But no. Age is just a number in this book. Had she been a senior it would have been more palatable, had they not banged on about how innocent she was it could have been readable. But no.

Next, is the pick me issue author picked up every possible pick me look at me personality trait and shoved it into this one. I mean she must have been waiting a long time for this one.

We have
The secret singer
History of neglect and abuse
History of sa
History of bullying
Quietly spends her time with elderly and has a bleeding heart
Friends with the triplets cool kids who took her under their wings
Triplets who teach her self defence and she is "good" at it.
The jock wants her
The queen bee hates her
Shes oh so innocent
Oh I can't forget they threw the F1 girlie in there, kind of came out of nowhere.
.... there is so much more.

The only thing I felt when I read this was eurgh. There was no chemistry in this. Mia had more chemistry with Logan in the last book. Honestly Mia kind of felt a bit off, pursuing Nico she was constantly wanting to be his idea of a woman whilst cling on to her girlhood. I mean she buys her clothes from the children's section. She has the maturity of a child too. It felt wrong for her to be pursuing him.

Then Nico with his knight in shining armour complex. He saw someone to protect and he dove right in.

Kaya. Given how much she was talked about in the last book. I was waiting for a Kaya/Mia conflict. There was none. Hugely disappointed.

Why are university students acting like something out of an American movie. Is this normal? Do they act like this? Bc honestly I cannot tell you the name of more than 10 people on my course, let alone University.

I was excited to read this after the last one. Bit disappointed.

I imagine a tall, overweight woman with a black belt in karate because there’s no way any other woman could take on Brandon Price.

Oh no, not a tall, overweight FMC. We can’t have that, can we?

Mia. The puking chick. Not a six-foot-tall karate champion. Far from it. She’s petite, her face hidden behind a curtain of dirty-blonde waves cascading down her waist.

Whew, thank God she’s petite and dainty and delicate. All is well again.

Mia might’ve soothed my agitation with music, but it’s back twice as strong. I can’t make a single assumption about her. It’s unsettling... the not knowing.

He thinks that because she’s “pocket-sized”, wears a pink skirt and drinks wine spritzers instead of beer.

No fillers. No makeup, either. Nothing. No lipstick, lip gloss, eyeshadow, or other stuff women use.

Please kill me.

And why is this girl dressing like a child? She literally buys her clothes from the actual kids section.

Oh wait, it’s because she looks like a child. The H’s younger brother tells her so:

He chuckles, moving the sauteed mushrooms I don’t like from my plate to his. “You look about twelve, Bug. [...]”

Gross. I’m not continuing this damn book.

I’m giving this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️ for a VERY important reason(s).
But first things first, I have really enjoyed the book, I found it to be a very interesting story and I was extremely exited to get know Nico.
However, and this being one of the reasons I’ve given it 3 stars, I felt like we haven’t actually gotten to know Nico. Yes, his character evolves a lot throughout the story but I missed part of his personality that we saw during books 1 and 2. It was almost as if he became a completely different person right after meeting Mia. A protector, problem-solver, kind of like an “angel”. His problems were barely acknowledged, they were dealt very superficially, it was all focused on fixing Mia’s issues, which is fine, but the main reason I wanted to read this book was Nico, knowing the mysterious man we are presented with at fist, knowing the reasons why he is how he is.
What’s more, (showing my school grammar, I know😌) I didn’t enjoy the fact that at the begging, (and I know this changes a little bit) the story feels like 2015 Wattpad era with the blond, lonely, innocent, virgin and almost personalityless female character; dark haired, well-known(ish), with lots of experience, controlling and quite toxic male character; AND what it seem to be a love triangle.
And last but not least, this is more of a personal preference but insta love is not my cup of tea, I also like a little more work behind the whole falling in love process.
That being said, I really enjoyed the book, the relationships between the triplets with Mia was heart-warming.
I would definitely recommend reading it and hopefully we’ll get more books and get to know the triplets more in depth :))))

Got a new favorite in the series. I loved how this man was absolutely sprung from the moment he laid eyes on her. Unlike his brothers, it didn’t take him long to know what he wanted. Heads up this is an age gap and I know not everyone likes age gaps also check TW before you read this one.

After being an ARC reader for the first two books I was so excited to read about Nico’s story. It honestly was a great read. Finally seeing him and Mia come together was such an amazing highlight to the series. I was so happy to see him break down his walls and open up to Mia and fall in love.

Nico is gross, toxic and manipulative.

Mia is a pick me, spineless and insufferable.

The twins are overbearing, controlling and predatory.

Everything about the characters and especially the main characters made me uncomfortable and angry.

I wrote this in August last year when I read the first book in the series:
- Elite troublemakers all 7 of them, one brother I'm particularly interested in.

And here it is. Too Sweet, book 3, Nico & Mia!
I wanted to read Niko's story from the moment we met him in this wonderful series by the Hayes brothers.
I hoped that he would "fall for" someone with a completely opposite character from what he was attracted to until then. And that's what we got.
The age gap - my favorite trope, total character difference, the way she "calms" him, the way he cares for her... just a wonderfully rounded story.

"What have I done?
What have we done?
What the fuck has she done?"

I first met Nico in Too Wrong (Logan & Cass’ Book. I havent yet read bk1) and he was intimidating as hell. I was so happy to learn Too Sweet was his book & we’d meet him next!! All of the Hayes Brothers can be read as standalone IMO. But Dices writing is flawless, so.. Please read Nico’s story - it phenomenal!

Nico is Possessive as hell, if something is his you do not touch it unless you want a bloody face! He has a type - confident, brunette, tall, sharp tongued.. He doesnt get attached, hes a hit it and quit it type of guy. Tattooed, bad boy and he has so much chaos & noise in his head hes unpredictable. He lives with 3 of his brothers - the triplets. Cody, Colt & Conor. The Hayes brothers have rules. One being you never touch a brothers girl. And Mia is Codys.

Mia is Prim, perfectly dressed in tulle and pink, she is the bows on her shoes wearing college girl. She is the opposite of Nicos type. Dainty, shy, blonde. But when she sits down & lets her fingers dance over the keys of Nico’s piano. Its like everything else disappears. She makes his mind quiet for the first time.

Watching these two fall in love was nothing short of magical. I forgot I was reading so many times, the pages turned themselves. Despite Mia’s character description, she is so deserving of being called a strong main character. She is feisty & knew what she wanted. She complimented Nico so well. What he needed, she was and vice versa.
They made the world peaceful for each other.

Going back to I.A. Dices writing. There was lust, passion (god damn, gimme a Nico for one night please), trauma, pain, adventure.. it was all written so well. Nothing is rushed or forced, descriptions were stunning. It all unravelled easily. The pace was amazing. The spice, oh damn, that man. Id be on my knees before he opened his mouth to command it. Sir, yes, sir.

Too Sweet is the 3rd book in the Hayes Brothers series by I. A. Dice
i was not expecting the plot or twist and turns in this one. Nico and Mia’s story is really strong. there is a lot to be said about these characters and the way the author navigated their relationship with all the pain, trauma, and passion.
Nico Hayes is a controlling, protective, possessive, alpha male and I really enjoyed how his heart softened for Mia. i loved his character in the first two books, a little better than in his own book. only because i just felt he was a little more dark in the others and i would have liked to see more of that from him as it suited him and his characteristics better. which is why I gave it 4 stars.
Mia Harlow is what i like to call docile. she is shy, timid, and fragile, but has an incredibly strong personality and a true sense of who she is deep down.
I. A. Dice brought both character’s struggles together and made them grow beautifully as individuals. their love was really strong even through all the insecurities they both had.

looking forward to the triplets stories!

This was ridiculous in a way different way than the other two books were. It was just hard to take anything seriously with how absolutely wrong and inaccurate a lot of the plot stuff was. The h is attacked in the bathroom at her college. She’s burned by the mean girl. Badly. The smoke alarm goes off as do the sprinklers and it’s just no big deal? Administration doesn’t come and ask her what happened? There’s no investigation? This is just brushed off by the h as bullying. Im sorry, what? Someone lighting you on fire is not bullying, it’s attempted murder. It was just really hard to relate to the h at all given her reactions to things like this. I loved Nico in the last two books and can kind of see what the author was trying to do with his character but their dynamic was just all off for me. I really wanted some OWD considering Kaya is so crazy. Where was that??

These two had no chemistry together. It was all so forced. Major bummer bc I really liked book two and was excited for this one.

Overall: 1.5

What A Wonderful Age-gap Story!😍

🌟 5/5

🛑 Look at the author's trigger warning!!!

‼️ This is book 3 of the Hayes Brothers Series. I would recommend reading the other books prior to this one!

POV: first person, dual

Summary:
MIA HARLOW
He heard me puke. That’s how I met Nico. The tall, broad, tattooed wall of muscles. The crudest and most intimidating out of all the Hayes brothers. He heard me throwing up in his guest bathroom.
And since that evening, he’s been on my mind every day. He awoke needs and desires I didn’t know existed, but no matter how strong the pull between us grows, Nico doesn’t want to want me.
He keeps me at arm’s length, so I defy all my instincts and... I steal the first kiss.

NICO HAYES
Never touch your brother's girl.
All my life, I pursued women who made me feel like I was licking honey off the edge of a sharp knife. Those who seduce a man with one look. Bait, hook and haul my ass to her table with a lick of her tongue across blood-red lips.
Cue in Mia Harlow. Delicate. Shy. Fragile. Unapologetically feminine, five-foot-nothing, blonde college girl wrapped in pink.
Not my type by any definition, but the electric stress between us grows stronger whenever I see her.
I want her, even though I don’t understand my fascination with her. I want her, but I can’t have her...
She’s not mine to have. She’s Cody’s.

My Thoughts:
You meet Nico and Mia in the other books in the series. Nico is a distinguishing character and plays a role in both books. Mia has a short cameo in the 2nd book. I really loved how they came together to form a whole other book that treats you to a wonderful age-gap. 👀😏
Nico was portrayed a certain way in the other books that you don't fully understand why he acts that way until you read this one. Deep down, he's protective, and I swooned by his actions! I loved all of the Hayes brothers' relationships with each other. Even the triplets, which you get to see more of! 🥰
Mia was a character that I fully related to. She endured a rocky childhood that followed her to her adult life. I cried reading certain sections because I've dealt with similar situations in my own life. It was beautiful to watch Mia grow and to find someone who loved everything about her.❤️😍
I'm so excited to read the triplet's stories! That teaser at the back of this book was not long enough! I need it NOW!🤣🤩😏
