Obsidian Gate

Rate this book
The Seer are defeated. Noah Gantz may finally find peace from the alien technology bonded to his mind and body, except for one thing. There is a new king of the Tytons, and he has a vendetta against Wozim. When the coronation goes horribly wrong, Noah and Kayan’s crew find themselves caught in a civil war with their friend and his family facing annihilation.

But that’s just the warm-up act. The Tytons have kept a secret from the rest of the Reach, and that secret is called the Obsidian Gate.

After a thousand years, a message has finally come back from the expedition force they sent through. We needed your help.

Mounting evidence points at a vindictive return from the dark beyond, and Tytondom is definitely not prepared to face their past. Can Noah and his friends salvage Wozim’s coalition in time? Dive through the Obsidian Gate to find out.

5/5*. The Obsidian Gate #7 by SCOTT MOON @scottmoonwriter and JN CHANEY. @jn_chaney

Another excellent, fun, exciting, entertaining and engaging instalment. With an action-packed set, fun and rowdy atmosphere, witty dialogue, great space fights with tension filled scenes, emotional scenarios..It has so lovable characters! And villains are a colourful lot. lol. I really enjoyed reading it. I really enjoyed reading it. I highly recommend this series, if you are in the mood for a light, compelling and entertaining SciFi series, as I am lately.
Onto Rebel’s Ultimatum #8, which was released on the 4th of February. I love it that I can binge-read it now! 😄🥰

Thoroughly enjoyed it

Thoroughly enjoyed this installment! Just when you think it can’t get anymore complicated, they take it to the next level. Great action and character development. Really interested to see where the story line goes next. Recommended!

Tyton civil war and a 1000-year old version opens up at the gate....

While Wozim, wasn't declared leader, everyone thought that peace would prevail but the new king tried to kill Wozim and his family at his coronation! The opening of the inside an gate and the potential return of 1000-year old Tytons may be an explanation....
They investigate on the other side of the gate and several disparate groups that may need to team up to take on their former octopus like foes, called the dwellers on this side of the gate....
Intrigue, fighting, space battles, and hand to hand, abound in this novel as they try to unite everyone against a common enemy....Surprises, misunderstandings, the Seven who turn out to be much more numerous, and hibernating elders all contribute to an entertaining 'middle' novel.....

Great Read

Things are heating up! Noah and his gang of misfit friends struggle to overcome mind numbing adversity only to find it’s getting worse! Friends are separated, allies are lost, new ones are found and the enemies keep getting bigger, stronger, and deadlier. It taint looking good!

Action and adventure take a holiday in another galaxy.

When you run out of options for adventure. Find a gate to somewhere else. So much going on all over the Reach. Noah continues to make new friends wherever he goes. I don't know which series I'm liking better. This one or Backyard Starship. Hmmmm. . .

As all of these authors' books, this one is a terrific adventure that compels the reader to stay with it and its characters to the end. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because this and other recent books by Mr. Chaney have relied too much on either AI or speech to text software without a thorough human edit before publication. This results in more very noticeable typos and other errors than in earlier books. An example is the use of 'lead' when 'led' is required. I don't know whether this is because they sound the same or because AI doesn't understand the difference required by context. In either case, human intervention is sorely needed.

next!!!

Finished this one and onto the ext chapter. The characters are awesome but I was a little confusing as there are so many ‘main’ characters!
