I think I like this one better than average for this series, because it's finally starting to wrap up!
...or gives the impression it is. Wow, I'm tired of war, and I haven't been in one! (Wars going on don't count—I mean, I've never served or anything.)
There are some cute moments, too, despite their being in battle the whole time: - Tanya tells the troops to "be prepared for more free booze than you could drink in a lifetime" and laments that it's "a real shame that I'm on Team Coffee." (Hahaha!) - Tanya excuses herself from joining the troops on a planned beach outing because "she" cannot envision them taking her seriously after seeing her child body in a swimsuit, mourning the loss of her manly prior-life body. - Tanya also briefly reflects on being interested in seeing Serebryakov in a swimsuit, before remembering that the swimsuits for that time period weren't much to look at. - The 1-on-1 fight between Tanya and... Colonel Drake? briefly devolves into the animal representations of the characters, so an old lion fighting bulb-nosed wolf in classic caricature fighting style (dust cloud with fists and legs coming out every which way).
On the whole, great episode, though I will still absolutely forget all of this in a week. Par for this series; it would be much more memorable if I had kept all of the books and read them in one huge binge... maybe?? I'll have to try it with the Demon Slayer Complete Box Set and write an according review.
