I read the blurb for this book and then I ran 🏃🏻‍♀️ to be an ARC reader because it sounded so good. It definitely did not disappoint. I love books that make me cry and destroy me emotionally and this book did just that. It was so raw and just so real. It was an emotional roller coaster and it was absolutely heartbreaking. And yes I did cry a time or 10 😭🤣. Poor Charlotte. She is just a spiraling mess and I relate to her so much more than I wish to. My heart broke for her. I can’t wait to see where she goes in book 2. Her best friend Savvy was just amazing. I love a great side character and she definitely was a great one! Zach. Precious Zach. I need more of him! I absolutely can’t wait for book 2 to come out so I can get more of Charlotte’s story. And more Zach! I always feel so bad because authors spend so much time on a book for me to read in one sitting and then immediately be like more please 🤲🏻. It was a super fast read sitting right at 242 pages (on my kindle). It might be on the shorter side, but it packs a big, emotional, and heavy punch right to the heart. Now excuse me while I just sit here and wait for book 2 🧎🏻‍♀️🤣

As I read the last line and turn the last page I find myself staring at the wall blankly.

Jumping in I thought, okay it was just going to be your typical high school romance…. That, it was not, this book was an emotional journey, Charlottes emotion journey, from the good to the bad to the devastating.

The characters are realistic and relatable and I enjoyed that it shows the “ugly” side of one’s mind and struggles. As being a person who has also struggled with mental health issues, seeing this through someone else’s eyes really drew me in.

There are a lot of sensitive subjects so I encourage people to please check the TW before jumping in.

This book ends on a cliffhanger, though Coralee has done an amazing debut I can’t wait to read the second instalment and continue Charlottes emotional journey.

I had the awesome privilege and pleasure of being an ARC reader for Coralee’s debut, I see you Charlotte, my review is 100% honest and voluntary.

Being an ARC reader, I had the incredible opportunity to read this book before its release.
What captivated me the most was the subject matter, especially since I have personal experiences and knowledge in mental health. It was truly thrilling to delve into Charolette's mind and see the world through her eyes.
I must admit, this story can be sensitive for some individuals. Nevertheless, I absolutely adored the narrative and the writer's talent.
It's remarkable to witness such exceptional work from a new author! Now, I eagerly await the sequel.

I See You, Charlotte contains a new adult storyline in a young adult setting. The main characters are in high school, which is not an age group I typically read about. However, Charlotte experiences a lot of difficult situations, some brought upon by herself. Some of these experiences can be difficult for people to talk about, so I do appreciate the author including these topics. Be sure to read the trigger warnings prior to reading, especially if you are more of a “young adult” reader. I gave this book 3 stars because it was well written, but I do think there were some unnecessary chapters that were not pertinent to the storyline. Overall, I enjoyed this read and would recommend to readers of a younger age group than myself.

I received an ARC for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

If you end up reading the book please read the trigger warnings, this book contain heavy topics that can be triggering for some.

The first half of the book was strong and pulled me in but half way through felt rushed and was kind of hard to follow. I was expecting a little bit more development from Zach but he appeared to be an after thought. There were a couple of plot holes in the store that could have been answer through out the story. I understand that writing from past experience is hard specially having to remember the past but I think to be able to wrap your audience it has to be done in a raw kind of way. With Charlotte I felt that it wasn’t very clear why she was the way she was.

That doesn’t mean I won’t read the next book. I will like to see how Charlotte’s story ends.

I was so thankful getting to be an arc reader for this book. This book starts with a girl name Charlotte who even thinks is so happy and friendly but she hides all her true feelings and never shows anyone her real self. The emotions that she goes through in this book and the issues that she has to overcome really makes you feel connected to Charlotte. I also love the subject matter that this book takes you through such an emotional rollercoaster but it’s a book you cannot put down!!

I stayed up well past the time I needed to be asleep to finish this book. I knew from the first page that I would not be putting it down until I was done. First off, please check your TWs as this book is heavy. The raw, visceral emotions this book pulled out of me made it so hard for me to go to sleep that I am up at 1am typing out this review just to get it off my chest. I have never felt so seen by a character in a book than I was with Charlotte’s story. As a mental health warrior myself, I connected with her character on a molecular level…from her experiences, to her feelings, her thoughts, even down to the year she graduates in the book (class of 2006). This story follows a young Charlotte as she navigates through her junior and senior years of high school. "I See You, Charlotte" starts as your seemingly typical high school drama but quickly becomes a heart-wrenching, and achingly beautiful tale of the struggles of mental health. From the first page I was drawn to Charlotte's character. The journey of peeling back the layers of this character was gut-wrenching. I found myself feeling all of Charlotte's emotions as if they were my own. While this book is not what I would consider spicy, there are some romantic elements and on page intimate moments that are vaguely described. There are also brief encounters with SA/SV that are not overly descriptive as well. The book was well written and I found the author's writing style to be extremely relatable. The way she worded Charlotte's internal monologue allowed me to completely become one with her character. I will note that this book ends on a heartbreaking cliffhanger and I will be silently mourning in hopes that Coralee will begin to mend it in the next installment.

Tropes:
-Addiction
-Emotional Punch
-High School
-SA/SV/Dub Con
-OWD/OMD

This was a raw, emotional, gut-wrenching story that had my emotions all over the place. It was ugly and real and terrific all at the same time. Charlotte's journey through this story was fascinating but also terrifying. I loved the way Coralee Taylor made Charlotte so real. She didn't hold back with the hard, ugly thoughts that went through Charlotte's head. Some of them were hard to read (especially because I have a daughter that I know has had some of these thoughts/moments).

The beginning of the story had me feeling like I wasn't going to like it. It felt juvenile and a bit over the top. However, as I kept reading, I understood the writing and fell into it. I needed to keep reading to see what was going to happen to Charlotte, Savvy, and Zach.

After reading the last line, I was left staring at my screen (I read the kindle version). Coralee took me on a million mile an hour emotional roller coaster and stopped it right at the top of the highest hill.

Thank you, Goodreads and Coralee, for the opportunity to win this kindle copy through your giveaway. Now, I am headed to download book 2.

I'm at a loss for where to start with this book. It hits hard. What begins as your typical high school drama takes a sharp turn around the 40% mark, plunging into one devastating event after another, leaving me on the edge, eagerly anticipating the next twist. This is a solid 5-star read, though undeniably heavy. I'm still catching my breath, and there are loose ends that I'm desperately hoping will be tied up.
Charlotte's character resonates with me. Despite some self-inflicted challenges, the sheer number of undeserved hardships she faces is overwhelming. The fact that the author drew from personal experiences only amplifies the heartbreak of the narrative. The side characters, particularly Charlotte's BFF Savvy, add depth and attachment. Savvy's protective nature and unwavering loyalty are admirable qualities that stand out.
The unresolved dynamics with Jason left me in disbelief, practically screaming for resolution. Zach, with his own demons, brings another layer of complexity to the story. I'm looking forward to seeing these storylines unfold in book 2. The narrative takes a sharp and dark turn, much like any addiction. The speed at which the story spirals out of control is dizzying, creating an urgency for what comes next. The prologue of this book is an alluring mystery, and I'm eager for it to be revealed.
It's crucial to mention potential triggers in the book, as some content is difficult to stomach. Readers should approach with caution, being mindful of their triggers and taking necessary self-care measures.

I graciously received this as an ARC and these are my honest thoughts and opinions.

I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for a book that I was interested in as soon as I heard about it and what this story would shine light on.

What I didn't expect was to have my heart broken, cheer for a girl who only lives in the pages, and flip to the final page knowing this was gonna stick with me for a long time.

I feel like I went through this journey with Charlotte, at times I was happy for her, I was crying with her, i was trying not to scream at my kindle because I wanted her to be okay, I wanted her to succeed, and sometimes I was even mad at her. Through it all, my heart ached for her.

I want to take a moment to thank Coralee for the privilege of getting to read her work, I cannot wait to read more of her journey and I cannot recommend this book enough!

If you're looking for a book that is a rollercoaster, where you will fall in love with characters, want to maybe even fight some of them but also love on the other ones, THIS is the book for you!

Thank you for allowing me to get an early copy of your debut novel ❤️

• In this gripping tale of love, betrayal and personal demons, Charlotte’s journey takes a dark turn that will leave you breathless.

• High School Romance
• Virgin FMC
• Addiction & Mental Health Struggles
• Emotional Punch

Oh my heart 💔 while I have not struggled with addiction, it hits close to home. Seeing all of Charlotte’s struggles, hits close to home. I just wanted to wrap her up in a big hug.

I truly loved this book. We saw every vulnerable part of Charlotte and saw her crack until she shattered.

I got to the end and literally said “oh what the f*ck!”
Major cliffhanger 🥲 but I will be patiently waiting for book 2 later this year. I can’t wait to read it.

Amazing job on this.

Oh my gosh 🥹 First I wanna say this book was so painful & emotional to read but yet it was absolutely beautiful. As someone who has went through similar issues myself I felt the emotions of this story on a personal level. My heart broke, and then broke some more … then that cliffhanger wrecked me in the worst way. I cannot wait for book 2 to come out because I need to know that there will be happiness for Charlotte and Zach. I definitely recommend reading this story but please take the TW seriously because as beautiful as the story is, it was a very tough read.

I loved this book. It was a perfect change to what I have been reading. High school drama and Charlotte went through so much her last year of high school. She did have Savvy her best friend that was there for her but she was still hiding behind that fake smile she was always wearing. I really wanna know where Charlotte and Zach end up! I couldn't get over how this book ended and I am more than ready for the next book to come out!!!

I see you Charlotte, i really see you. Let me start by saying that i devoured this book in a day, i was so immersed into it that i couldn't go to sleep until i finished it. This book put me true the wringer, its so well written and has so many emotions poured into it. I was feeling Charlottes emotions as if they where my own, the event's she went true had me wondering what was going to happen next. The ending left me at the edge of my seat and i cant wait to see what the author has next.

This book was fantastic. I really enjoyed it and I couldn't put it down. It was set in the 2000s and because I want to high school in the 2000s it was nostalgic for me. It was a book that could make you laugh then make you cry in the next breath and it takes a great author to be able to do that. I really need book 2 now though! I need to know what happens! Definitely recommend 😊

I have no words.... this was got dark fast and very deep. There were times I had to pause due to it reminding me exactly how I felt at times in high school. Coralee, you wrote this so amazing and truly put the reader back into the high school setting. I can't wait to continue reading her story. ♡ review by Qu33nsara

I wasn't entirely sure how I felt about this author's style of writing. I do know shes a newer author and does EVERYTHING on her own, so I certainly kept that in mind. I was unsure of how I felt the first half of the book, but the second half made it so worth it!! I finished in two days

What a great book. I’m so glad I got to be an ARC reader for this one. This book is an emotional roller coaster and leaves you wanting so much more. It ends on a cliffhanger, so you’ve been warned!

It’s so much more than a typical high school romance. There is so much heartbreak. And so relatable. I can’t wait for the next book!

Debated on what to rate this book! I am about a 3.5-4 star mark on this one.

Loved the story of Charlotte and her friends.. some moments were cringe due to the way they were speaking but then had to remind myself they are in high school.😆 Even though this book was high school based there was enough drama to keep me wondering what was going to happen so I couldn’t put it down!

I love how the story of Charlotte got right into the feels.. brought me right back to high school.. popularity, emo/gothic kids.. first love.. fierce bestie.. mental health struggles.. and male temptations who your drawn too but strictly need to be in the friend zone. 😏Poor Charlotte had great things going for her and then her world fell apart and you spiral with her. The emotions are so strong in this book that your heart melts and breaks when hers does. What she goes through you can’t blame her for wanting to find a release.

I was hoping that when she met Zach it would be a happy ending but this book isn’t for you if you like those. I loved Zach and his amazing calming/grounding moments for Charlotte but when you don’t think you deserve more or better you reach for other things around you to numb yourself and that’s exactly what Charlotte did. 😭

I think this book would have been a 5 star on my end if we got chapters on Jason and much needed ones on Zach. I would have loved to have gotten his perspective on what was happening with Charlotte and how he wanted so badly to save her. 💔 He loves her and was shoved to the curb due to her addiction.

I can’t wait for the second book and hope we get to see much more from Zach and also hope Charlotte over comes her demons. 🤞🏻

This book had me all up in the feels i had so much emotions while reading this especially as i have been through many of the same things as Charlotte.  Charlotte had such a tough time from love , betrayal , heartbreak and pain. Once i started this i couldnt stop reading it until i finished and that ending has me shocked i need book two asap.

Zach is everything that Charlotte needs if only she can let him in but the betrayal from Jason is still effecting her add in the loss of a loved one and her metal health is at an all time low. She gets into the wrong crowd to try numb the pain and she loses herself in the process.

I would recommend this to anyone but please read the trigger warnings.

I received this as an ARC.

This book is fantastic. Though it centers around high school seniors, it never truly feels like you are reading a YA book at all. The prologue being told through the eyes of an adult reminiscing helped that in my opinion.

The book starts out fairly lighthearted, and systematically shows the downward spiral of the FMC. I definitely didn’t see the twist that came toward the end of the book.

It is full of first love, first heartbreak, emotional instability and personal and family tragedy, but told in a way that keeps you captivated, hoping for a happy ending then mouth wide open at what you actually get.

I will definitely be reading the next book in the series!

I am not a professional book reviewer. Just a woman, who doesn’t look at trigger warnings because that is not important to me, who loves reading and more specifically reading well written and captivating books, where spice adds to the plot but is not the whole plot. I am also not a literary critic. The reviews I post are from the emotions the books evoke from me. Take that as you will!

I see you Charlotte was quite the rollercoaster of a book. Make sure you have your tissues on hand, you are definitely going to need them. I had so many feelings reading this book. It took me a little longer because of that.

This book is very relatable. It goes through many of the trials tribulations of a teenager. She is faced with so many things and is finding her own way to cope with them. Just when you think you have it figured out what path this story will take, prepare for that sharp curve and sudden rise and fall.

I don't have much negative to say with this story or this author. My only critiques would maybe be that it would be wise to include a trigger warning page in the beginning due to some of the dark teenage angst and emotional turmoil and choices therefore made.

Other than that I feel this was well written book.

"You might be insignificant as yourself, but you are less than nothing as someone else."

Shattered..
Utterly broken..

I read this book in one sitting, how could I not once I started. It was a downward spiral. A spiral that meant memory lane for me.
It's been years since I have felt what I did while reading this book. Almost like a time capsule that I never knew could come from a book.

I was Charlotte, Charlotte was me.
The highs, the lows, the very extreme lows. Everything.
The things in this book that Charlotte goes through are everyday things until they aren't. Things that can be helped but only if the person wants them, Charlotte doesn't.
Hurt & betrayal are bitches that will cut you down and keep you there, drowning. We get to see Charlotte navigate her path. The plus side is the green eyed light that I can only hope lights her path to right direction.

I almost put this book down and not finished it, I don't have triggers but this one is the only one that came close to making me stop. I pushed through and I am glad I did, I needed to finish it. Through tears and sniffles, I made it to the end except I was not prepared for a cliffhanger. A hell of a one at that too. I have a feeling I know where it's going but until book 2 comes I can only guess.

This book touches on very sensitive issues but I am glad they came across the way they did. Even if this takes place in a "high school" world the issues inside can affect everyone, no matter what age you are.
Mental Health does not leave any one out.

This book is heavy on the triggers so please go in with open eyes and read them. This Debut that is filled with such hard topics is one that was done in just the right way and I can't wait to read more.

So thankful for the opportunity to get this book as an arc reader

This book kept my attention and had me drawn in from the beginning.

Loved reading the characters lives and understanding why the situations kept arising.

This story provides an insight on what can truly happen in someone’s life and what can cause the pain/ addiction.

Loved this book and would highly recommend.

PLEASE check all trigger warnings before reading!

From the first chapter you realize this book will eventually shatter your heart into a zillion pieces. I will say that I have a hard time calling this a dark romance; it's a close examination of a young girl's spiral out of control and what leads her there. Any romance here is mostly a fade to black. There is absolutely no HEA, and truly, in this context, it makes sense. Coralee Taylor writes a story that is complex and so well written that you feel everything Charlotte is going through. My only other thoughts are that I wish we had more time in Zach's head and what he was thinking about Charlotte's massive spiral and I wish that whomever's head we were in during the prologue that we would have gotten an epilogue from them as well. As it is, I'm not 100% sure whose head that was (but I have a good guess).
