Very exciting. Intrigue, mage wars, machinations of nobles and angelics vs infernals.
The MC grows his powers employing fractals that he captures by killing demons. He intimidates the powerful while developing relationships with 3 girlfriends. All while resisting the charms of two sisters and an angelic. He positions himself to work with but not for the Barrows' clan as the emperor decides to allow the Barrows' advesaries leave to attack them.
Once again, lots of intrigue as the angelic vs infernal battle spills over into civilian bystanders. When the smoke clears, the coverup is well underway. There's kidnappings, grudge fights and generally explaining to advesaries why messing with the MC's girlfriends will shorten the lifespan.
Looking forward to book 3
