But piecing together the lies of the past leaves her reeling and questioning who she can trust.

Mercury, the fierce captain of Canada's elite special forces team, has learned to control the rage that stems from his own violent upbringing. Fiercely protective of Daria, he vows to shield her from further hurt. But when old wounds are reopened and betrayals come to light, can their newfound love withstand the storm?

Caught in a web of deceit, Daria and Mercury must confront painful truths about family, trust, and what they're willing to sacrifice for love. Can they find healing and happiness together, or will the scars of the past destroy their future?

Mercury and Keshini were fire and ice together. Even though you start with the intensity of their relationship from the very beginning, you learn about their love story and journey to becoming who they are over the course of the book. You see the brokenness, trauma bonding and refuge that brought these two together. Mercury, as the strong alpha male domineering, "piss on your carpet to mark it" makes you feel protected and scared all at the same time. Daria/Keshini comes off as the reckless, fragile, naive rich ice princess that becomes strong as she fights to stand on her own & be heard. These two have chemistry for days and burn up the pages with their connection. I enjoyed the journey of love & passion mixed with so much intrigue and danger. Alesandria keeps us on the edge of our seats throughout the whole book. While it was good, I wished the ending didnt feel so rushed. The ending of this book was very anticlimactic and unrealistically simple for the way the whole storyline was written with all the mystery, suspense and danger we are given throughout the book. And where is the epilogue? Story was good, but poor finish, in my opinion.

Considering all the drama in the book I was expecting a more climactic ending. I loved Mercury as a male lead he gave asshole possessive alpha in the best way. Daria wasn't a bad FMC although I despise the 'I won't listen even if it's for my own good because I'm a strong independent woman who's also a baby who's in over her head please help me out of this situation I got my self into' style leads. But she wasn't the most annoying so I overlooked it. The book was good tho and the spice is 7/10 spicy and well-written. Please note that this book may contain topics and scenes that some people might find triggering, so be aware of that.

This is a warning that many bay be triggered by things in the book.

Daria is a single mother exploring her way through but also discovering long held secrets. Mercury is the almost Christian Grey in the book.

This book did not build buy start quite spicy and also with many triggers not warned about. If 50 shades was a trigger this is worse as it is right there. Personally it is a hard one to read and for some the toxic nature of the characters can be quite alarming

The plot follows Daria, a determined mother seeking answers to lingering questions. Her relentless pursuit clashes with the mysterious Mercury, who harbors secrets about his job. I believe Daria likes to push Mercury’s buttons.

One significant drawback is the lack of content warnings for potentially triggering scenes, which may affect sensitive readers. The absence of these warnings can detract from the overall reading experience, preventing some from fully enjoying the story.
