Two sisters discover that meddling in the past can bring about both happiness and long forgotten, devastating secrets...Pam Evans, much-loved author of In the Dark Streets Shining , brings us another tale of love, family and hope, clouded by two sisters' heart-breaking past. Perfect for fans of Dilly Court and Lindsey Hutchinson.'The leading characters are finely drawn... crisp prose... a superb and heartwarming read' - Irish IndependentIn 1930s London, two little girls are lonely and bewildered after the tragic death of their mother. Daisy and June are now destitute and must go to the local orphanage. Once there, they take comfort in each other but they are robbed of even this consolation when they are parted because June is taken away for adoption. Years later, although out of touch and worlds apart, both share a disturbing childhood memory which will connect them forever. A memory that takes on a ghastly significance when June discovers the reason they were abandoned...What readers are saying about Always There :' Simple read, simple tale, simply engrossed! I absolutely loved this, although Daisy frustrated me occasionally by not thinking of the most sensible thing for everyone when she had suggestions put to her. It showed the best and worst of parenting too - hated Irene's character, did mothers in law in those days REALLY demand answers from their daughters in law about when they planned to have babies, in the manner that Irene went about it??? I loved the character of Nora too, she had no actual family but was rich in company with Daisy and June's family.

Daisy and her 2 daughters find happiness in 1950's Nottinghill,England amid all the aftermath of WWII.Then Daisy's sister, who she separated from at age 5 in an orphanage, finds Daisy and together they find their father who is in jail for killing their mother. Did he really murder the mother or was he framed, the girls set out to prove his innocence after 20 plus years and along the way they find happiness and the joy of family!

Good read

Enjoyed this book immensely couldn't put t down. In places it was predictable but still a good, relaxing read of a family living in London, giving a trip down memory lane to a fellow Londoner who grew up there but now lives a quiet retirement in Wales.
