Arranging Love #2

A Holiday Arrangement

Rate this book
When a strict alpha who never wanted a mate meets a young omega who wants nothing more, they soon discover that fate is inevitable.

The only thing I disliked more than crowds was High Society social events. If I could avoid both altogether I’d be happy. But when Orion Strongfire approached me to assist him to recruit alphas to his cause in fighting for omega rights, I knew it was inevitable. That was how I ended up attending a holiday ball surrounded by the who’s who of society. If that wasn’t terrible enough, there’s this fiesty little omega who captured my attention from the moment I saw him from across the dance floor. I don’t do relationships and I certainly don’t claim mates. Especially not omegas who are way too young for me and the half-brother to my boss. I tried to ignore the attraction, however, when Jett Strongfire cornered me and claimed I was his fated mate, he was nearly impossible to resist. Running away from my aunt was the best thing that ever happened to me. I was taking a major risk, but my brother and his husband have been nothing but kind and showed me a whole new world and possibilities I never even considered. But, my first heat is coming–quickly. Orion might be reluctant to approve a mate for me, but I refuse to be a burden for longer than necessary. Besides, it had always been a dream of mine to have a mate of my own. So when it was suggested to use the big holiday ball as a way to meet a potential mate, I couldn’t turn down the opportunity. In my wildest dreams, I never expected someone like Emerson to be the alpha I’d want. He was significantly older than me, stiff, strict and had walls around his walls. And yet— I was drawn to him in a way that was impossible to ignore. Emerson was meant to be my alpha. Now I just need to convince him. A Holiday Arrangement is book two in the Arranging Love series. Each book features new MCs, no cliffhanger, and a HEA for the couple, but does have an overarching plot that will continue throughout the series. While it technically be read as a standalone, it’s best read in order. It features a holiday ball, a secret mission, an older serious alpha who wants no part of a relationship, and a young omega who’s ready to fight for his fated mate no matter what it takes. It is an alternate reality omegaverse with adult themes and explicit content. It is not meant for those under 18. While MPreg is possible it does not occur in this book. This is a world where omegas have very little rights and are essentially owned by their alpha guardian or mate. There is also a biological kink element where alphas are biologically inclined towards dominance while omegas are inclined towards submission. Content societal repression of a group of people, large age gap, dub-con spanking and sexual scenes, rough sexual encounters, and rejected fated mates. Please see book for more a more detailed warning.

This is the second book in this series and here we get to see one of Orion's, alpha from first book, half-brothers find his fated mate. Jett's aunt is a typical alpha in this world that only views omegas as property and trying to sell off Jett to an alpha mate for his first heat. Once Jett learns of Orion and that it's rumored, he is kind to omegas, he runs away to find his half-brother for sanctuary. Orion and Lyric take him in treat him better than he's ever experienced. Jett doesn't want to be a burden anymore and would like for Orion to find/approve an alpha mate for him that will also take him through his heat. Orion and a group of other alphas are secretly meeting to work on how to change the omega laws and get them more rights, with the upcoming winter ball as a front to gain more support. Lyric comes up with the idea that Jett can use the ball to find an alpha and it will help shield Orion's work during the event. Jett would love to have the rare fated mate relationship like Orion and Lyric have but he didn't think he would be so lucky, until he spotted/smelled his mate at the party. Unfortunately, he finds out from Orion and Lyric that Emerson, his mate, refuses to take a mate and is very adamant about his stance. Jett is a determined omega though and he will not give up on the gift he was just bestowed by finding his fated mate.

Now, Emerson is on my sh*t list and will stay there as far as I'm concerned. He rejects Jett not once, but twice after intimate encounters. Yeah, that's a hard pass buddy! Emerson has some deep-rooted insecurities that came about due to an incident when he was 19. Ever since he has sworn off of taking a mate or ever being with an omega, seeing himself as a monster. He just can't get out of his own way and keeps hurting Jett throughout this book. When he does finally pull his head out of his own behind in order to get Jett back, the book is almost over and he didn't do enough groveling in my opinion. The MCs are perfect for each other and there's no denying that, especially with their chemistry trying to burn up the pages.

I'm interested to see the alphas further their efforts and how the pushback will fall on the group, since others that have tried paid with their lives. Arden's story is up next and it looks like he will mate with one of Orion's other half-brothers.

This started out really strongly for me. There is an ongoing plot, so this really needs to be read as part of the series.
Orion, from book 1, is working with Emerson and several other alphas to improve rights for omegas. They have to do it secretly and very, very carefully because others have tried this before and paid with their lives.
I am all about this plot! The intrigue, the secret meetings, everything all hush-hush. Fantastic! Especially since omegas can't do a thing without a guardian. They can't go out alone, work, they aren't even supposed to have phones, I think.
Jett came from another district, escaping his guardian alpha aunt to come to his half-brother for sanctuary. Orion takes him in and treats him well. He's a great brother to Jett and with Lyric there, Jett has a new family.
Then he meets Emerson, his fated mate.
I loved the initial angst of the rejection and refusal from Emerson to accept Jett. It leads to some steamy times, too.
Then I kinda... didn't like Emerson anymore. This is probably on me, but I preferred the arrangement Jett had with another alpha. I'm glad they are getting their own book. It made sense for the plot, but I wanted more groveling!
Everything else, though, perfect! I cannot wait for Arden's book!

I am so glad I went ahead and continued the series. I really liked this book. I don't like BDSM and I don't understand people that need the SM to enjoy sex, so I skimmed a little during the sex scenes but it didn't distract from the story.

Yes there was story here. We get Jett (Orion's 1/2 brother) running from an emotionally abusive situation and possible physical one to seek sanctuary with Orion. We get history on his omega dad and things they did together. I would've liked some history on his alpha dad though. We get some history on his aunt. We get history on Emerson and what made him such a closed off man. We get to see him grow as a person with the help of his BFF Odalric (Book one MC Lyric's alpha father), his boss Orion (Book one MC) and a letter. There's gatherings/socializations where there's talk of what they're doing for the omega cause. There's another brother mentioned and finally met. There's another character helping in the cause that plays a part in Jett's life and he's very interesting (can't wait to read his story). We get story about Lyric and Orion that I would've liked to have read in their book but it's welcome here. There's more going on too. So much story with some sex added, instead on endless sex with a little story. It was mentioned that the Strongfire estate is still empty, so it would be really nice if all of Orion's 1/2 siblings that he's trying to find could live there. In book one it was mentioned that they thought some of his siblings where in omega houses. Bring them to the Strongfire estate.

Jett and Emerson are interesting characters which I felt like they had great chemistry even when they weren't messing together. The character building was really really good and the world building is getting better. This book is SO much better than the first one IMO. By the time Emerson gets his self settled I feel like so much time has passed because so much is going on but it's just that things are happening besides just sex. Yes Emerson does hurt Jett several times but I don't think it was maliciously done. He was scared and hurting himself and lashing out or closing off. Thank you to the author for going in a different direction than book one had. I think it worked so much better and I enjoyed the time spent reading this book.

This book picks up after book 1 and continues the theme of fighting for omega rights in this universe. The blurb really sets the stage for the first part of the book, the rest pretty much is working out whether or not Jett will be able to get his fated mate to accept him. Will Emerson be able to look at his past, face it head-on and assess it honestly, will the realization of what it means to be a fated mate actually click in Emerson’s brain before it is too late, or will both need to face that empty place in their heart and soul for the rest of their lives?

I really get frustrated with pig-headed men, old or young, alpha or not, and Emerson had me wanting to shake him til his teeth rattled. In his case, age didn’t grant him any wisdom, it just solidified everything his past made him believe. There’s a reason letters are delivered to be read — following that reason could have saved him a lot of heartache (but wouldn’t have helped the story), so better late than never. It is understandable why he held those beliefs as long as he did, given the events he believed to be true.

Jett is certainly one feisty omega, willing to defy convention and social mores to fight for what he wants, but he is also practical and honest, following through on a promise made. He is a perfect match for Emerson, and a suitable family member for Orion — genes tell. Lyric is Orion’s perfect match, and a perfect support for Jett in this new environment, having his back and being a confidant when needed. The dynamic between the four is a plus for Jett and Emerson’s relationship.

I was easily drawn into this book, it held my interest and had me invested in the success of the relationship with Jett and Emerson, once Emerson got his head out of his a—- and accepted what his heart and mind wanted. The cast of characters are well drawn and relatable, easy to identify with and root for the success of their unions. An enjoyable read, looking forward to Arden’s story next.

What a book!!!
I think this is the first proper a/b/o book that I read, other than fanfiction, and I absolutely loved it!
I received an ARC copy of this only a couple of days ago, and I know it’s best to be read in order but I didn’t want to risk missing the deadline to read the first one as well so I just got in blind. And let me tell you. Maybe it was because I was already pretty familiar with a/b/o but I could follow the plot with really no issues even without reading the first one.
Now, will I read the first one? YES. I am going to download it right now because Orion and Lyric were INCREDIBLE. I adored them so much!
Jett and Emerson? They were great. An incredibly big age gap (which I love honestly) and angst were really well done. There were moments in which I wanted to hit Emerson with a pan on his head because maybe that way his brain would work again but at the same time it completely believable why he was acting that way and I just really wanted to hug him and cuddle him and tell him that he did nothing wrong in the past (he did wrong with Jett but he made up for it so it’s fine).
I really appreciated their dynamic and how their personalities melted together.
I am 100% looking forward to the rest of the series. Arden is such an interesting character to read about and the fact that he’ll get with Bastion??? I am WAITING for that book!
Also, I can’t wait to see more about Gideon, he was a total sweetheart!
And Lennon! OMG I did not expect that plot twist? I can’t wait to know more about everyone but for now I’m going back to the start and read about Orion and Lyrics.
Thank you again to the author for sending me an ARC copy, I really appreciated it and I couldn’t be happier!

Alpha Emerson disliked crowds and High-society social events but Orion Strongfire had approached him to assist him in recruiting alphas to his cause in fighting for omega rights so they couldn't be avoided. A feisty omega captured his attention across the dancefloor which was bad as he didn't have relationships or intend to claim a mate. Then Jett Strongfire cornered him and claimed he was his fated mate and he was nearly impossible to resist. Jett ran away from his aunt which was the right thing to do as his brother and his husband had been kind and showed him a whole new world of possibilities. Jett's first heat is coming soon and although Orion might be reluctant to approve a mate for him he doesn't want to be a burden on them. In his wildest dreams, he never expected someone like Emerson to be the alpha he’d want. He was significantly older, stiff, strict and had walls around his walls. And yet Jett was drawn to him in a way that was impossible to ignore. Emerson was meant to be his alpha. Now he just needs to convince him.

I enjoyed this story with the fated mates where alpha Emerson was so affected by historical events in his life that he repeatedly refused to accept omega Jett as his mate. I was heartbroken for Jett especially as he had allowed Emerson to use his body twice. I loved the young and friendly alpha who became a friend to Jett even though he was dramatically cast aside later in the story. Emerson deserved a spanking from Orion for his treatment of his half-brother. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content and a D/s dynamic including spanking set in the Omegaverse.

Davis returns to the Arranging Love Omegaverse with the story of Emerson and Jett. Escaping an arranged mating, Jett crosses district lines to get to Orion Strongfire's estate. Welcomed by his half-brother and his mate, Lyric, Jett joins their loud and chaotic family. The last member of a once prominent family, Emerson has sold his businesses to Orion and is settled in his Omega-less life.
The two main characters meet at a Strongfire ball and their attraction is immediate. Unusual for an Omega, Jett is the pursuer and Emerson is the reluctant one.
This goes on throughout most of the book, Emerson an angsty mess, considering himself a monster not worthy of an Omega. Jett bounces back and forth between uncertain and determined. The sex scenes are quite incendiary, with Emerson turning back into a handwringing mess afterwards, since Jett matches him with his desire for rough sex.
The worldbuilding continues from book one. The main character's chemistry is strong. Orion and Lyric are strong secondaries. But the most interesting character is the alpha bodyguard, Arden. Davis does promise a story for him with another of the previous Strongfire's sons.
A good, solid read. It's quick to draw the reader in and hold their attention. This is an interesting world that Davis created and I can't wait for more.
I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my review.

This is a very enjoyable book from the omegaverse, a world where omegas have few personal rights, but some seek to change that. Jett has run away from his very conservative, uncaring aunt to try to find his newly discovered half-brother. Welcomed to the new home, he encounters safety, security, and respect that he only dreamed of. Jett's next heat is coming on soon and he desires to find a mate, so his brother hosts a ball that will give him the opportunity to see a range of eligible alphas in the area.

Emerson, 20+ years older, is an alpha who works for Jett's brother's company in a high position. As such, he must attend the ball, but he has no desire to find a mate. Years ago, something bad happened that has caused him to swear off any mating encounters. However, when he enters the ball, he catches a whiff of a scent that is almost irresistible.

At the ball, Jett smells an odor that he knows is special. It can only belong to his fated mate, Emerson. He approaches Emerson, but is soundly rejected, although the passion is undeniable. What will happen to these fated mates when mating is refused? This book has a fun Christmas setting, friends and family, strong emotions, and a forever love. It also has a developing arc on the improvement of omega rights, which will continue to advance. I look forward to reading the entire series.

Jett and Emerson ❤️

4 Stars ⭐️

I am loving the sub plot of this series. I have read many Fated mates stories but none have been told in the way that this author has carefully crafted in this universe, it makes for a very captivating read with the class/gender dynamic front and center. I have to say that I enjoyed this book much more than the first in this series. Jett and Emerson have an instant chemistry and although they are fated, Emerson is the reluctant Alpha due to past hurt he's chosen to never take on a mate. Enter Jett, feisty and determined to make Emerson realize that they could have something earth shattering. The relationship build was a rollercoaster of hurt, steam, tons of naughtiness and a tiny bit of sweetness which works with this story because it is very much Alpha/Omega. Side characters were great, ones that I would love to see in the next book, I'm excited to see where this story goes next and who will fall in love. I would recommend for sure.

I want more of this series! Yes, this is a horrible world for omegas unless they’re lucky enough to find a decent alpha – and they do exist – and hopefully that world will eventually change for the better, but the relationships and chemistry between true mates is wonderful. However, in this book we feel the pain of rejection of a fated mate. It’s brutal! Poor Jett, after all he’s been through, to then have to endure this and face the prospect of living his life like this… It was heartbreaking, but ultimately this is a beautiful love story with a very satisfying HEA. The side characters are wonderful and need their own stories too. I also loved that we get to see that Orion and Lyric (from Book 1) are still crazy in love with each other. I loved this book.

Hurt comfort, fated mates

Jett is a spitfire.
He knows what he wants and isn't afraid to do whatever it takes to get it.
In this instance, that means his reluctant mate Emerson.
Emerson has put up walls to protect himself because of an incident that happened when he was young and inexperienced.
He took the stance that in order to be kind I need to be cruel now in order to protect you.
Unfortunately, he continued to hurt Jett.
Jet is absolutely perfect for him because they're fated mates but it took him almost losing Jett and finally actually talking about what happened to someone else in order for him to open his eyes.
The attraction and chemistry between them was incendiary.
I really hope we get to see a certain character from Emerson's past because they absolutely deserve a HEA.

So I didn’t go into this book with super high expectations, I hadn’t loved the first book and I wasn’t sure if I’d enjoy this second book in the series. My main issue with the first had been that there’d been so much going on, there was a/b/o and D/s designations and a bananas world people lived in that felt kinda Hunger Games-esque. Just too much going on.

But maybe having been introduced to the world in the first book made me like this one more? Or maybe the author’s style was different for these characters? Either way, I liked it more. Jett and Emerson certainly had more angst going on but they were also both self-aware so it was less annoying and more sad? I was definitely happy for their HEA and am looking forward to Arden and Gideon’s stories next. At this point I’m invested in the overarching theme of the books and will definitely be reading the next ones.

Minx! Godsdammit

After reading this book, I'm excited to read more in the planned series. About what happens for Arden, Bastion, Gideon, and Lennon. This story sets up the series very well and got me so interested and invested in it. You'll want to read Jacey Davis's content/trigger warnings. It may prepare you for what happens. It isn't as bad as she cautions, but it will steel you if it does.

This series occurs in the mpreg omegaverse where omegas are treated as property with no personal rights. Jett in a feisty omega who senses that Emerson is his fated one. Emerson feels it too, but vehemently battles with his demons.

The world-building is amazing. The characters are big, en-pointe, and loveable. Well, except for the evil ones. For lovers of Jacey Davis and ABO mpreg aficionados, you must read this. I think you will come to love the characters as much as I did. RECOMMENDED!

Fate has a way of breaking down barriers

Jacey Davis continues her Omegaverse story with this second book about Omega Jett who’s fated mate Emerson comes to the relationship with rather a lot of baggage. The fight for Omega rights that was a focus of the first volume goes on in the background but this book focuses mainly on Jett and Emerson. Jett is mostly upset and in pain because of Emerson’s insistence that he can’t be what Jett needs. Unusually for this type of story it deals more with the Alpha and how he ended up feeling the way he does. Ms. Davis does a great job of keeping the story interesting while slowly unfurling the knots that Emerson has tied himself in. I was captivated by this couple but I also hope that the political events are developed more in future books.

Loving this series and I recommend you read the first book to be able to follow the plot. Orion (who we met in the first book) along with Emerson and other alphas are working to improve Omega rights but have to do it in secret as their lives are at risk! This leads us into a fantastic storyline with so much intrigue it kept me hooked. When Orion takes Jett in after he escapes his guardian to give him sanctuary he meets Emerson, his fated mate but gets rejected! Well what can I say! So much angst and Jett has to fight to get Emerson to accept him which does lead to some passionate moments with so much chemistry!
I just loved all the characters and some great secondary ones who I hope will get their own fated mates.

For Emerson, an older alpha and Jett, a feisty younger omega, circumstances align not only socially but by fate to ensure that they are destined to be together. They are fated mates despite the fact that Emerson is reluctant to heed the call when he and Jett meet. Emerson resists but Jett is not going to let his alpha get away. There was something so neat about the fact that Jett is the one who finds a way to pursue and that Emerson must work through his reluctance based on past experiences to get there and see their mate bond as a good thing. Just these slight characterizations outside of the societal norms made their story that much more interesting to read as it played out. Good story and addition to this series.

Dreamy, the first look is so HOT! Jett is an omega and about who seeks sanctuary with his half brother, Orion. His guardian Aunt had been about to sell his first heat to the highest Alpha bidder. Orion, is a champion of omega rights and will ensure Jett has a good partner. Omega advocates were like a secret society because the people in charge didn't want change. When Jett and Emerson saw each other, it was like the lightening hit them both at the same time. Then when they regained clarity, navigating life happened. Excellent cover art! Great story questioning and blending. Great characters, nice external friends. Fantastic cover art! Nicely done. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book begins a few months after the first in the series and tells Jett and Emerson story.
This alternate earth is scary. Omegas are pawns used to gain power, money or both.
Jett knows this, but being Orion Strongfire halfbrother allows him to choose who to mate with and he`s going to harness that chance. He picks Emerson, but he is going to have to fight hard because Emerson refuses to mate.
I like this world that Jacey Davis creates. The love story is central has great characters you grow to love, the books are very well written, they have a great worlbuilding and a overarching story that weaves the books together.
Don`t miss it!

Holiday Arrangement - Emerson and Jett

Jacey Davis continues her Arranging Love series with book 2, Holiday Arrangement. Alpha Orion has a slew of half brothers whom he feels a need to take care of, and Jett is a special one.

When omega Jett runs away from a relative who wants to sell him to the highest bidder, he finds his way to his half brother Orion, and unexpectedly meets up with alpha Emerson. Emerson has a strict ‘no mates’ take on life after a very bad experience when he was younger. Jett knows Emerson is his mate, but what can an omega do?

An exciting omegaverse story where romance, and fate, win the day!

I'm a huge fan of age gap romances in any form and in omegaverse stories I love it when the omegas are fighting for their rights as an integral part of the plot. This book has both of those things done exceptionally well. I loved Jett's certainty that Emerson is the alpha for him and his determination to make Emerson see that. Emerson reminds me of all my favorite alpha males from a youth spent reading gothic romances - closed-off, determined not to have a relationship and to his dismay totally smitten with Jett when he meets him at a ball. Watching these two work things out made for a great read and I look forward to the next book in the series.

This turned out to be a quite complex and emotionally charged story of two mates. I really enjoyed the uniqueness of the uncertainty Emerson experienced and the strong determination that Jett displayed. These roles are more often than not the other way around. Jett is defying the societal norms and going after what he needs and desires. These two are on fire physically but this actually takes an emotional toll, and it was interesting to see how they worked through it. Yes, fate was on their side, but they both concurred doubts and fears together in the end.

So different from Arranged by Fate but so so good.
The main difference is that A Holiday Arrangement has mostly angst between the couple. There's lots of rejection, longing, regrets, and overall devastation. There's lots of possessiveness and sacrifice (poor Gideon, though I didn't like that he would use a vulnerable omega for his own betterment)
I loved both MCs, their chemistry (the smut was amazing 🥺🙇) and their banter. I loved the pacing and learning about Emerson.
Orion and Lyric were great too and I cannot wait for Arden and Bastion's story!

Holiday Romance

Ms Davis is a new author for me. I liked the concept of this holiday story so waited patiently for its arrival. I had not read book 1, but had no problem following this second story in the series. Interesting World building, though similar to some others I've seen. Definitely omegaverse, with hints of male pregnancy to come in the future. Strong Dom and sub Kinks, with penchant for pain.

I really enjoyed this book though Emerson was annoying for most of the book. Jett was a strong one ha and his watching his relationships with Emerson, Gideon, and Orion grow. I loved seeing Orion and Lyric again and the overarching storyline about omega freedoms is interesting. I can’t wait to read the next book about Bastion and Arden. I am very interested in Gideon as well. What a kind alpha who was there when Jett needed help. I am curious if he will get a story. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen an asexual alpha and that could make for a very interesting storyline.

I missed the first book in the series, so learned about the Omegas and Alohas through here. Omegas arent even second class citizens. They have no rights and while the are some Alphas fighting to change this... its very slow going.

Jett is more fiesty than Emerson expected, based on his history with omegas, they are docile and submissive. Just rolling with anything an Alpha puts them through. Jett is far from typical Omega. He speaks back and stands up for himself.
I fully enjoyed this book, with Lyric as being my fav character, and look forward to the next instalment.

First series I’ve read by this author and I’m glad I gave them a try. I love a good A/o story every now and then and this series has been really good so far. The overarching storyline is a good one if not one I’ve read before (omega rights). There was a lot of time spent apart between the two MCs as well as self loathing, pining, and tears so definitely more angst than book one. There was plenty of heat as well 🔥 overall well written quick read with intriguing characters and a storyline that keeps your interest.

A Holiday Arrangement is the second book in the Arranging Love series. This book is not a standalone in my opinion and should be read after Arranged By Fate book one of the series. This is the story of Jett an omega and Emerson an alpha. This book was full of angst and plenty of steam. It has great world building and amazing characters. Jacey Davis has a way of drawing the reader into the story. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

The perfect challenge

I really enjoy the on going plot in this series. I love that the couples get a happily ever after at end of the book and you don't have to wait for the next book. That being said in really looking forward to the next books. I need everyone mentioned to find their fated mates.
I am so glad Emerson got his head out of his butt and finally accepted his fated mate, Jett is definitely the perfect match for that stubborn Alpha

This was another good addition to the series, I enjoyed Jett and Emerson’s story, I really didn’t think much of Emerson at first but as his history came out, you could understand his behaviour a bit more and I thought Jett really deserved the love he found from his brother and family, I’m looking forward to reading more from this series and am hoping Orion gets the Omega’s some recognition. Good story well worth a read.
