“You’re my wildest love, my wildest dreams and my wildest forever.”
Neighboring ranches, stolen glances and secret kisses under the stars. Theirs was the perfect love story, until it wasn’t.
Broken promises, mistakes and heartache pushed them apart.
Aspen needed a new dream, and that was getting out of Lovelock Bay. She never expected she would return with her fast car, her laptop, her dog and the designer clothes on her back after her fiancé broke off their engagement. Her world turned upside down, she goes to the only place she knows will welcome her with open arms. But not everybody is happy to see her return.
Riggs Rivera had one great love and once she left, he never recovered. He never expected his best friend’s little sister to return home to Lovelock Bay. But now his dream girl is back. Can he forgive her for breaking his heart into pieces all of them years ago when she sped down the dusty driveway and out of their small town, or is it just a little too late?

This book would have been so good of I could get past they MMC sleeping with h best friend in h.s.....and his timing of doing it was awful. Even with what went on with h and om...her best friend was no friend and she should have never forgiven her and they don't delve much into that with the flashbacks. So, that did it for me.

Great angst but left a two review because there is no discussion about how everyone hurt everyone.
FMC is in love with MMC but they aren’t together as kids but everyone knows how they feel So he ditches her for prom and leaves her crying in the rain She has sex with his brother who is in love with her Her best friend has sex with MMC and her brother
It’s just a mess. If the friend and FMC had a discussion as adults as to why she did this to her I could get behind them becoming friends again but instead it’s just a “hey “ and everything is fine . Then the MMC never explains why he did that to the FMC .
Technically no cheating but ow drama and om drama the whole time

I love small town romances but unfortunately this one wasn’t it for me. The teenage drama love triangle mess is not my cup of tea. It was explained through out the book. It would constantly flash into the past and let us know what happened. All that felt very repetitive and I feel like it could have been handled in a chapter or two. The poor communication between Riggs and Aspen was terrible. Miscommunication is not my favorite. Aspens character wasn’t very strong. She didn’t want to talk about anything. Anyway the actual love story and second chance was nice. I wish there was more development there though. I wish the book spent more time piecing that back together than about then the past drama or actual ranch business drama. Anyway I know authors spend a lot of time creating stories and I’m thankful for that. But all stories don’t work for the readers and that’s ok.
Ashlee rose is in her small town era and I am here for it. This was my first cowboy romance (I know, How!?) and I am not disappointed that Riggs was my first. He handled my heart like a real gentleman 🤍
Aspen has had 3 loves in her life. An epic love. An unrequited love on her side & a promise of a HEA. But her heart has only ever belonged to one.
After realising her idea of forever wasnt meant to be, Aspen finds herself home in Lovelock Bay, a town filled with childhood memories, next door to the boy that broke her heart.
Whilst finding herself again, old feelings resurface with grumpy BDR (IYKYK) Rancher Riggs Rivera. These two were written in the stars. A once in a lifetime love and that is obvious from the beginning. Riggs may have let her leave years ago but now he isnt letting go & is willing to do anything to fight for her. She was always meant to be his.
This sets up for the series perfectly. Im already looking forward to more from Lovelock Bay. We’ve only scratched the surface of what this town is hiding. Aspen was a stunning FMC that I can see so many relating to & Riggs was the perfect possessive alphahole, complete with the dirty talk 😮💨
Ashlee is definitely in her small town romance era and she has absolutely smashed it🫶🏼
Small town romance has become a favourite trope of mine over the last few months and I can safely say this book ticks all my boxes. I mean look at those tropes😮💨
Tropes: - Small town romance - Second Chance Romance - Childhood Friends to Lovers - Brothers Best Friend
This book follows Aspen and Riggs.. Now Aspen has returned to the town of Lovelock Bay after she found out her boyfriend Luke has been cheating on her with the woman he told her not to be worried about. I know I know he’s absolute scum I can tell you that but Aspen left her mark but destroying his car💅
Anywhoooo, Aspen left the town of Lovelock bay behind years ago and while doing so she also left her heart behind in terms of her brother’s best friend Riggs Rivera.
When Riggs finds out that Aspen has now returned he battles with his feelings for Aspen at first but then decides he is determined to right the wrongs that occurred between them and wants her back. Of course Aspen is reluctant at first, and I mean of course she would be because her heart was shattered, but Riggs doesn’t take no for an answer👀
Riggs is your typical alpha/possessive MMC with an absolutely FILTHY mouth😮💨 and Aspen I absolutely adored her, I clicked with her instantly🫶🏼
This book honestly made me feel everything. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, it made me want to throw my kindle! You name it.
I cannot wait to read about the rest of the Rivera brothers in the near future✨
Squeals. I need to move house to a small town with HOT Cowboys 🤠 🔥 Yes. I am firmly loving small town cowboy era and my head and heart is all friggin for it!
This is my first read by Ashlee Rose and this book gave all the feels. I love how it centred about teenage drama that unfolded and how that shaped their future. Just made this a different read.
The Rivera brothers are a different breed and my heart will combust from their alpha ways & loyality and passion.
Aspen & Riggs history is intoxicating and captured and written beautifully, so much that you can connect to the emotion and really feel Aspen's & Riggs pain. I love how after all this time, desire them trying to claim hate, the love is inevitable.
I will absolutely be diving into the rest of the series!! ❤️
“You’re my wildest love, my wildest dreams and my wildest forever.”
I’m in love with this story. Aspen and Riggs have a place in my heart and I am now considering adding cowboy boots to my summer wardrobe 😝
Aspen returns to Lovelock bay after her life in LA falls apart and she is back to the love of her life Riggs who broke her heart.
This book has all the small town vibes where everyone is connected some way or another giving life and mystery to all the characters. I cannot wait to read the other interconnected standalone’s that will follow.
I am also super excited at the hint that Ashlee will mention some of my favourite characters from her Illicit love series!!
I’m not really drawn to small town romance but when I saw Ashlee was writing a small town series I just knew I’d be giving it a read and I’m so so glad I did. I loved everything about this, I absolutely adored Riggs, his dirty mouth, his possessive ways. I could really tell how much Riggs and Aspen loved each other. I loved how the story played out and I enjoyed the past to present chapters.
My heart hurt for Aspen at the beginning and I’m sure every Ashlee books hurts my heart in the first few chapters 😂 I loved the closeness from all the families, I adored the way they all looked out for each other. It’s made me so excited to read the rest of the series! Ima be honest I still wasn’t really a fan of Harlow at the end, I know she wasn’t the only one to make mistakes but I don’t think I would have been as forgiving 🫣
The spice had me sweating. I couldn’t put this down, which is rare for me with small town as I find them to be quite boring for me but this was certainly not the case with this book, I just wanted to know how it was all going to play out and I wanted Riggs and Aspen to get their HEA.
The last chapter has me so looking forward to the next book! I cannot wait 🫶🏽
Honestly, I'm very divided, this was very fast, the development was not developed enough
I felt that Aspen had enormous strength and out of nowhere this strength faded, the whole situation from years ago, with Riggs and his brother and then Harlow... all very confusing
Obviously I didn't want in-depth details but very awkward this best friend knowing that Aspen loved Riggs (said by Aspen herself) was able to still persuade an involvement that in Riggs' pov meant nothing and that is his biggest regret But also if it is a great regret, and if he has always loved Aspen and if it has always been her, why did he continue a friendship with the person who contributed to a distancing from the person he loves?
Nothing made much sense in this book, I was honestly waiting for more and I'm sorry but I'll consider that they are all traitors because you don't betray yourself only physically even though here it was all physical
And I didn't like Rigss' brother who went with Aspen to the dance (so important that I don't even remember the name) and I also don't like Harlow... fake bitch (with friends like that who need enemies). Look at your friend going to sleep with the boy you like and also with your brother
I had to stop reading this book at chapter 21. It was too hard to get through. Things that were done in their past, and in the now, were just too hard for me to read at the moment. Maybe I can read it later because I want to know their story. It just isn’t something I can get through right now.

3.5 ⭐️
“…even your hand or toys won’t please you like I do.” -Riggs
After some time which included some really good cry sessions in the shower, this book is now in my finished pile. Yay!!
Riggs is stupid hot. The way he talks to Aspen, how he adores her, and that mouth. Lordy. 🫠 He should not have listened to his dad because that was some crap advice. His brothers? No dude. Nope.
Oh Aspen. This girl cannot make good decisions for herself to save her life. It was bad choice after another. She already had an awful best friend, how about making some good choices for other aspects of your life?
There was a HEA in this book. Not sure if there should have been one, though. Both Riggs and Aspen did crappy things to each other because both were hurt. That isn’t how you handle things. Making decisions when you feel bitter and stabby will never lead to good things. Ne-ver!
Side note, the way I smiled when he let her put on his hat. 💗
Wildest Love by Ashlee Rose is the first book in the Lovelock Bay series and is a smalltown, country cowboy romance book with great characters and an even better plot all mixed with a good bit of spice.
The main characters are Aspen and Riggs and the secondary characters are their families and friends. The story begins in LA but mostly takes place in the little country farmtown of Lovelock Bay.
Aspen is 29 when we meet her and her life is perfect, she’s a stay at home fiancée and an aspiring writer and lives with her up and coming movie fiancé Luke – she’s the perfect doting fiancée, cooking and cleaning and having dinner on the table for when he comes home. He comes home and shatters their perfect life by calling off the engagement, asking Aspen to leave. A reeling and heartbroken Aspen walks out with nothing but the designer dress and heels she’s wearing, her dog, her laptop and her and goes to the only place she knows: home to the family farm in Lovelock Bay and where her first love who broke her heart lives.
Riggs is 34 when we meet him and he has taken over his dads ranch now that he has retired and he works closely with the neighbouring farms and ranches to ensure that their smalltown thrives without the need of the big suits coming in and taking over and turning their idyllic life into a tourist attraction. He is a grumpy guy when we meet him and he’s single because his heart belongs to the one and only Aspen – the very heart she broke all those years ago when she was 18.
Aspen’s return home proves to be challenging due to her fear of horses thanks to a show jumping accident when she was younger that ended her ambitions to go pro and she’s still trying to make sense of what happened with Luke and her not so hidden feelings for Riggs resurfacing. Riggs also has a hard time adjusting to Aspens homecoming because he still holds a torch for her and so when she agrees to a date with someone else his jealousy is hard to hide. As they grew up together they would tease and taunt each other but sometimes Riggs pushes it a bit far because he likes to rile her up.
Their relationship and the back and forth is well paced and when we go back into the past and find out what happened to cause the crack in their relationship and friendship, it was a twist I didn’t see coming and seems to stem from a huge miscommunication and trying to please everyone instead of going for what you want and being honest about your feelings.
When their relationship starts to develop further, it feels natural and not rushed and when they throw it back to their childhood and it comes full circle it just feels perfect and I couldn’t help but smile and laugh with the characters. The way they are written makes you fall in love with them so quickly that you root for them before they root for themselves. This book does contain quite a few spicy scenes and again it just fits the characters well.
Alongside the main plot of Aspen and Riggs finding each other after finding themselves there is a subplot with someone in town trying to buy all the farmland to try and turn the place into a tourist spot. The story ends with a little bit of a mystery with this plot and will be followed up in the next book in the series and I’m excited as it encompasses all my favourite things: romance, mystery and throwbacks to previous mentioned characters from other books in the Ashlee Rose Universe and I am here for it.
All in all, this was a great read and I loved every second of my time in Lovelock Bay and I for one cannot wait to go back. I could not put this book down when I read it and I cannot recommend this enough. I am still not over the book hangover this book gave me but it was worth every second and there were two clear messages I took from the book: It’s never too late to follow your heart and your dreams and always, always get back on the horse.
So this was the first book I’ve read by this author, and honestly, I went in a bit unsure after seeing some mixed reviews. The story is about Aspen and Riggs. Both their families grew up together on ranches, and Riggs is best friends with Aspen’s brother, Austin. Aspen’s always had a crush on him, but he’s older and part of the Riviera brothers — Riggs, Tripp, and Pacey — who I assume the series is going to follow.
The book jumps between the present and the past. In the present, Aspen is engaged to her movie star fiancé, Luke, but right at the start he dumps her in a really nasty way and basically replaces her with another woman. So Aspen drives back home to her family ranch, where she hasn’t been in years, and ends up face-to-face with the Riviera brothers again.
The past chapters reveal a messy backstory. Aspen thought something was going to happen between her and Riggs after they kissed, but instead his dad convinced him to let her “spread her wings.” Riggs backs off, and in the meantime, Aspen ends up going to prom with Pacey… and sleeping with him. Riggs is heartbroken, Aspen feels betrayed, and everything just blows up from there. On top of that, Aspen finds out her best friend Harlow slept with Riggs and Austin (not at the same time). That whole piece was really vague though — it’s barely explained, and I feel like it was thrown in without enough detail.
That’s actually my main issue with this book: the lack of explanation. I don’t get why Riggs is so mean to Aspen when she comes home — calling her “posh princess” and acting cold — when from his POV he was heartbroken too. It would’ve made more sense if the author had put all the past drama at the start and then just focused on the present, instead of scattering flashbacks here and there that didn’t really clarify things.
Character-wise, I didn’t mind Aspen. She just felt lost, and she’s in her late 20s now, so not the naive teen she used to be. Riggs though… his character felt inconsistent. He started out kind of grumpy cowboy-ish, which I thought was going to be his vibe, but then he softened up so much that it didn’t feel like the same guy. The spicy scenes were solid, but the story itself kind of dragged by the 60% mark and I really struggled to finish it.
I think it had a good premise and a strong start, but it needed way more character development and explanation about the past. I’m curious how the Austin/Harlow book will even work after all that history, because I just don’t get when or why Harlow and Riggs slept together in the first place. Tripp’s book is next, and I’m on the fence about whether I’ll continue the series. Didn’t hate it, but it definitely didn’t hit the mark for me.

Wildest Love is the first book in this Lovelock Bay series and I am here for it!! I enjoyed this book from the beginning because you could feel the angst and tension between the two main characters Aspen and Riggs. I wanted to know more from the beginning about why there is so much pain in their gaze towards one another. It made me sad to learn all about what had occurred years ago and wished that it could get better between hem because in a small town such as Lovelock they are bound to run into each other often.
Riggs is a grumpy cowboy who is still hurt over his one true love leaving the small town life in exchange for the city life. He has his own personal issues to deal with and it doesn’t help that she is back stirring up feeling within him that he doesn’t want to feel. I love how protective he is of those he cares about and love that he can’t seem to keep his eyes off Aspen.
Aspen left small town life running from the chaos and hurt that occurred years ago. She had no plans of ever coming back home however, due to her cheating ex fiancée’s actions she is left with no other choice but to go home. She is a bright, optimistic person however she has been hurt one too many times and doesn’t want to open herself up for more hurt especially form Riggs. She tries but can’t exactly fight her attraction to Riggs especially when he decides to step up his game and show her that he is not letting her go again.
I enjoyed their story and can not wait for the next book because we’ll get Tripp’s story (with the one he let get away) and more information on “the suits” as well as what is going on with certain characters. So excited for this series and the books to come!
It’s so long since I read a really good cowboy romance…I had forgotten how much all the ‘darlin’, tight Levi’s, hat tipping and dusty boots had an affect on me!!!! This is the first book in a series of interconnected stand-alones and oh my goodness what an amazing start!
Not only did I love Riggs and Aspen but the whole cast of characters had something to offer. They are all intriguing in their own way and Ms Rose has done a brilliant job of introducing them all whilst still telling a wonderful, sometimes heart-aching story of lost love, missed opportunities and an inevitable forever love.
These two are maddening at times, my heart ached for them both but I think more so for Riggs. His stubbornness and sense of loyalty were not his friend to begin with however I really loved getting to see the guy under the gruff! Aspen needed to come home to see how terribly off track her life had become…it didn’t matter how many times she tried to convince herself she was happy it was shallow. I appreciated the time she took for herself and the fact the author allowed her to grow back into her true self. The show-down at the end was a perfect example of just how far her character had developed and strengthened in her home, surrounded by the ones who truly loved her.
The moments when Riggs and Aspen are together as just themselves were so beautifully written…truly believable and made my chest ache in such a good way!
A wonderful start, some real drama still to unfold and mysteries to be uncovered but I loved the tease for the next story and can’t wait for that!
I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS BOOK, 100% SWOON WORTHY ❤️❤️❤️
“You’re my wildest love, my wildest dream and my wildest forever”
Plot ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Spice 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
This book follows Aspen and Riggs epic love story. Aspen returns to her hometown of Lovelock Bay after discovering her boyfriend Luke has been unfaithful with his current costar. The last thing Aspen wants to do is come home and face Riggs, her brothers best friend, and the boy who broke her heart years ago. Riggs has taken over his fathers farm and now works closely with Aspens father as well as other farmers around town. Riggs is in shock seeing Aspen step out her car after so many years of nothing. Now he’s forced to battle old feeling and relive bad decisions he made so many years ago with the one who got away.
I’ve read a couple of novellas by Ashlee Rose that were pretty much smut, on smut, on smut, so I wasn’t sure what to expect with a full length novel but OMG I was blown away with this book. Riggs and Aspens story was beautifully written and totally gave me “Yellowstone” vibes which I was 100% here for. There was drama, plot twists, laughing, crying, swooning, and some true hatred towards certain characters (when you read it ya’ll know who I’m talking about 👀).
Riggs and Aspen were the perfect couple to start the Lovelock Bay series. They set everything up for the next book in the series with flashbacks and hints through the book as to how everyone ended up where they are at that current time. I can’t wait to come back to Lovelock Bay in book two.
Wow I absolutely loved this book is my cry a lot and I love the small town country vibe in lovelock bay and I love the romance between Riggs and Aspen so much especially the spicy scenes between Riggs and aspen and I love when he calls her wildflower, dinks and I love that aspen wants to be an author and that aspen is close with her parents and brother Austin and I love that Riggs and aspen are sneaking around behind her brother and Riggs brother back as well and I love that Austin and aspen are close with the Rivera brother which are Riggs, Tripp and Pacey in the book and I really like that aspen and Harlow make up in the book because of what happened in the past and that aspen has always had a crush on Riggs in her teenage years and I just love reading Ashlee rose writing and I can’t wait to read more of her books and there is some drama going on with suits trying to buy ranch in lovelock bay and I love that Riggs and aspen get there happy ever after with being being engaged and trying to for a baby at the end and I just love Riggs and aspen romance so much and I love that Riggs helps aspen get back into riding a horse since her accident

This is the first book in the Lovelock Bay series, following the story of Aspen, who returns home after her fiancé breaks off their engagement, shattering their perfect life, and Riggs, her first love whom she left all those years ago. Being home seems to be more challenging than expected, especially when old feelings start to resurface.
Ashlee is definitely entering her small town era, and i'm so here for it. I'm used to her stories being a rollercoaster of emotions, and this one didn't disappoint either. It was angsty, passionate, fun, and heartwarming with a scoop of mystery and suspense.
Riggs is rough around the edges but definitely a lover boy with a heart of gold and a filthy mouth on him. Aspen is hardworking, optimistic, and kind with a bright personality even after everything life threw her way.
Second chances, small-town secrets, and a brother’s best friend who refuses to let her go 💔🔥 Lovelock Bay has never felt this hot.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️
Ashlee is thriving in her small-town romance era, and she’s nailed it again.
Small-town romance has quickly become one of my favorite tropes, and this book checked every single box.
It follows Aspen and Riggs — Aspen returns to Lovelock Bay after catching her boyfriend cheating (with the girl he told her not to worry about… yeah, trash). But before skipping town, she made sure to leave her mark—on his car.
Back in Lovelock Bay, Aspen faces the one person she never got over: her brother’s best friend, Riggs Rivera. He’s determined to make things right, and while Aspen’s hesitant, Riggs isn’t taking no for an answer.
He’s your classic possessive alpha with a filthy mouth, and Aspen? I adored her — I connected with her instantly.
Tropes:
🩷Small town romance 🩷Second Chance Romance 🩷Childhood Friends to Lovers 🩷Brothers Best Friend 🩷Forbidden
Ashlee Rose is in her small town romance era and I’m soo here for it!!!!
This is a small town second chance romance and I adored every minute of it!!!
This story follows Aspen as she returns home after a break up and has to face the past including her trauma of an accident, her teen years, her friendships lost and the love that she thought had disappeared in Riggs Rivera. The emotions, the dramas, the little heartfelt moments and the spice from Ashlee which is just off the walls so damn good!!!
Aspen and Riggs are just perfection. Their story is one of journey that I enjoyed the hell of out! The ups and the downs and the spice!!! That man’s mouth is sin!!! Cowboys have never been this hot!!! 🔥🔥
I can’t wait for what’s to come as the series will continue with Tripp, Riggs brother. Well done Ashlee you defo smashed this one!!! Congrats! 🩶
An honest review in exchange for an ARC copy of this ebook.
This book got me right in my feels, i love Aspen she's amazing from a small town girl turned city girl but she found her way back home not on the circumstances she was expecting... back to a small town life and returning home to her childhood cowboy crush Riggs Rivera and boy he is HOTTT!!! He is he possessive alpha male kind and he is wanting to set the wrong from the past right Aspen was hesitant at first but everything worked out as it should have. The smut wasn't amiss in this book and it was amazing, the rebuilding of relationship and Riggs giving Aspen the confidence she needed to overcome her fear was everything, he was there for her every step of the way, This book is everything I laughed and cried it just got me right in my feels. I've not read many cowboy romance books but this one by far is my favourite so far, Ashlee is smashing her small town era so far and I'm living for it and I can't wait for the rest of the books in the series! Another amazing book by Ashlee i highly recommend!
🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻Thank you for having me as part of your ARC TEAM 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
Aspen and Riggs have a drama filled past. Aspen always loved Riggs but left him behind when she left for college. Riggs loved Aspen from afar since the day he saw her. After years apart, a new heartbreak brings Aspen home.
I loved this cowboy, unrequited, second chance love story. Aspen leaves town broken and returns in a similar state. Riggs has been the grumpy cowboy since Aspen walked away all those years ago. Once they see each other again it’s obvious just how deep their love goes. I wish their past drama had been a little different and easy for everyone to move past. I loved Aspens relationship with her family, especially her brother. I did not like the best friend at all. We never really found out why Conrad left their date and Luke’s situation seems like a really odd way to get involved in the end. I loved the way Aspen and Riggs fight for each other and the way they both find peace with the past. The spice is 🔥 and Riggs has a dirty, dirty mouth! I expect most of my unanswered questions were intended to open future books. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
Ashlee Rose has out done herself on her Small Town, Cowboy romance ❤ Wildest Love has me staying in my Cowboy Era for a bit longer!!
Aspen has a lot to overcome as she returns to her hometown, Lovelock Bay. Getting over an ex-fiancé who cheated on her, and past drama from her childhood friends and her first love.
Aspen and Riggs love story his definitely full of drama, but so, so, worth the read!! This is a slow burn, but once the spice kicks in OMG 🤩🥵🔥
I can't wait to read Tripp's book 🤍🤍 and the rest of the Lovelock Bay Series!
*Small Town Romance *Brothers Best Friend *Friends to Lovers *Second Chance Romance *Sneaking Around *Hot Cowboy *Slow burn (but once you hit the spice, Holy Heck 🥵) *"It was always you"
Book was good but I could never be friends again with someone who slept with the person I loved and they knew that. Even if Aspen and Riggs weren’t together as kids, Harlow knew how Aspen felt about Riggs and vice versa. Plus we never got Riggs reasoning why he slept with Harlow and vice versa, we just got “they were drunk”, no excuse. The way I looked at, it was a revenge fuck since Aspen slept with Pacey. Harlow slept with Austin on prom night, so when did she sleep with Riggs? Night after prom? Even though Harlow was her “best friend” she still went along and slept with Riggs, she didn’t care about Aspens feelings. You can’t move past that with a “hey” in the bathroom. I would’ve punched her in the face moment I saw her again.
I have the sex scenes a high rating cause holy smokes were they hawttttt. The only problem k had was the teasing, like holy shit it was like cmon now enough just get to it, we get it lol.

This book y'all... Oooo boooy!!! It had me in my feels. There is just something in the books that Ashlee writes that I just can't get enough of. I ADORED every second, every letter of this book. It made me laugh, it made me smile, cry, wanting to punch a b*tch...all of it.
And as you can see, the smut wasn't lacking. The mouth on this man Loooord have mercy. I need me a cowboy (just don't tell my husband that lol). Also, that ending... I can't wait for the next book in this series. Ashlee girl I am sooo frikin happy you wrote this series.
Wildest Love is an accurate description of how I feel about this book. This book is incredible. I have read several of Ashlee's other books and whether you are familiar with her work or not, once you pick this up, you won't be able to put it down. This is book one in the Lovelock Bay series (and yes I am already excited for book two...). This book has a little bit of everything, and Riggs and Aspen have my whole heart. This is a second-chance romance, with some surprises in there... Also, this book vibe totally gives off Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift energy. So if you love that song, I am pretty sure this book will be the one for you.
Overall I would read this book again and I would totally recommend this book for fans of other romance books! This one is an easy five-star read for me, and you will just love every single second of this book!
I'm 100% here for Ashlee Rose's small town Romance era! This is the second small town romance series I've gotten into and it did not disappoint. Honestly the timing of the release/ arc was perfect right when the other series just ended. I love how everyone is connected, which makes me excited to see what's in store for the other books. I also want to thank her on feeding my addiction to one of my favorite tropes which is brother's best friend. If you're looking for a typical alpha, possessive MMC, with s dirty mouth then Riggs is your guy. With this book you'll literally feel every feeling there is. After Riggs maybe cowboys are the way to go lol. But these two deserve to be together. Riggs and Aspen had my heart from the very start. I love them. I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
If you loved the Chesnut Springs then you'll like this series.
The story follows the FMC Aspen, her ex husband leaves her and she returns home to her family's ranch where she is reunited with her first love and her childhood friends.
Now this book does involve one of my least favourite tropes which is miscommunication & a love triangle between the MMC Riggs and his brother, now it was like secondary school drama however I looked past it because I was crushing hard on Riggs.
But overall I did love the love story and second chance they got, it's a perfect book to start the series off and I'm excited to finish the rest of the series.
Tropes: Small Town Romance Grumpy x Sunshine Childhood Friends to Lovers Brothers Best Friend
Is there an era that I’m never in? Forever in my small town era and I never want to leave 🫶🏼 This story is positively swoonworthy, sweet, steamy and even a bit suspenseful. All of my favorite things. Aspen and Riggs. Say no more. These two keep the tension and angst so tightly wound, you know it’s bound to snap at any moment. They are perfect for each other but neither wants to admit it. I suppose that’s how it is when you grow up as neighbors and friends, it’s got that forbidden love vibe. Riggs was supposed to be “responsible”, according to outside sources. Let Aspen live her life, no strings. Their story definitely had a few moments I did not see coming.
