Jake is some fifteen years Helen's junior, but that doesn't prevent her feeling drawn to him. He, however, is in love with the shy and gentle Catriona. Luckily the friendship between the two women is strong enough to survive this potential clash.

Helen, who is nearly sixty, and Catriona, a young and naive woman in her twenties are the main characters in this book. Set, as most of this author's books are, in a small village in Scotland. Some of the same characters appear who were in previous books by this author.

Delightful people in a gently-moving plot as one person goes to college and another leaves her husband. Very enjoyable.

ik heb geprobeerd dit boek leuk te vinden maar vond het erg saai.....laatste 40 blz overgeslagen...wel even einde gelezen die toch anders afliep dan ik dacht....
