Rate this book
He’s a shy movie star who wants to stop the rumors started by his ex. She’s the wild child of Starry Hills who dreams of seeing the world. They strike a bargain—a fake engagement for six months and she’ll get the trip of her dreams. But all too soon things heat up and the lines begin to blur…

My ex keeps telling the world we’re engaged.

Nothing I say seems to make a difference, so I come up with a plan.

I need a fake fiancée, one who’ll stop the rumors and give me my life back.

And I have the perfect candidate—my sister’s best friend, the one who always called me the “boring Wolfe brother” growing up.

Six months of pretending with a woman who doesn’t care that I’m famous, and then we part ways.

But with every touch, date, and kiss in public, it becomes harder and harder to pretend.

And when Katie finally reveals some of her vulnerabilities, the ones she hides behind her outgoing facade, I’m a goner.

I want to claim her as mine, both in public and in my bed.

Kayla Chase

Kayla Chase writes sexy, feel-good romance full of laughter, friendships, and family. Her stories usually include crazy get togethers, fun festivals or events, and towns that feel like characters themselves. She also writes happy endings because real life and adulting can be way too hard.

She lives near Seattle but also grew up in California, which gives her lots of beautiful places to include in her stories (such as Sonoma wine country). While she's also lived in Japan and England, she has yet to figure a way to get her characters to those places. (But she does travel on a shoestring when she gets the chance!)

When not writing, she loves to read, jog on her treadmill, fit in some yoga, or try new recipes in the kitchen. More often than not, her cats derail her plans and make things, er, interesting.

Okay, when it comes to Kayla Chase's Starry Hills series, I would say I'm a lover.
The series focuses on a small town family and how each of the siblings find love after a painful past involving the loss of their parents and the hardships they faced. It shines a light on how finding love enabled each and everyone of them heal from their wounds.
My emphasis is however on Book 3 Marry Me Forever. These book is about the third eldest of the six Wolfe siblings, Nolan Wolfe.

Nolan Wolfe in this series is described as an isolated brother who made a name for himself in the entertainment industry as a renowned actor Nolan Drake. In the course of his career he happened to date a an actress Wendy Webster though things didn't go well with her since she always wanted things in her favor resulting to their breakup. Inorder to stop the rumors of an engagement spread by his ex, he form a plan of a fake engagement with the town most outgoing girl and this is where she comes in; Katherine Evans (Katie for short), she's wild, active and the total opposite of the shy and quiet Nolan Wolfe. Katie has dreams to travel and experience life out of Starry Hills her home town.
Both Nolan and Katie have personal battles they hide from everyone around them; Nolan feels rejected by his friends and family while Katie struggles with bullying. However their plan of the fake engagement brought them to a point of opening up to each other and finding what they both desired for in each other. It started as a fake engagement and later ended as a real one.
I loved the fact that despite the fame he had, Nolan never forgot his real home and that's how he knew that he would find someone although he never knew she'd be the one for him. Katie also found a future she never knew she'd find.
However I despise the bullying and insults she went through to realize that all would come in handy in order to be with Nolan. (Personally I can't relate but afew of my sisters endured insults growing up because they were too fat or too small, it wasn't that hard because they embraced themselves for who they are and faced the bullies head-on 😊)
I don't know about other readers but this book not only pictures the fairytale ending but also paints the color of the struggles within.
I'm not quite a fan of erotic books but I can make an exception for the Starry Hills series (so far it's the only series I've read of Kayla Chase) I love the book and I hope other readers will love it too
(I also love book one, 'Want Me Forever' for Beckett Wolfe and Sabrina O'Connor; and book two, 'Stay With Me Forever' for Weston Wolfe and Emilia Mendoza. LOL ☺️☺️😘 Aunt Lori too).

This was a tough book for me to connect with and want to finish. It just was off & I don't know why. I usually like this author. It happens, you're not always going to connect with every couple.

Nolan struck a deal with Katie, a friend, for a fake engagement in order to get an overzealous ex off his back. In turn she gets to travel. The fake engagement is a trope that's being overused but that's not the author's fault. Nolan is an actor and Katie remained in their hometown, so the trope made sense to use. The ex is suitably certifiable and manipulating. Katie is not quite fleshed out. She has some mean girls from school, but her family was always there. So, in a way her lack of confidence seemed off & because of that, we really didn't understand the issue Katie had with her self-confidence. Katie could have been me except for the family support so I wanted to know the why behind it. Nolan was hard to get an understanding of and to sympathize with mainly because he wasn't in Starry Hills & a lot of his and Katie's discussions were via text - a theme that ran throughout the book with everyone which for some reason made it difficult to connect with the characters and make them believable. Normally it's been Aunt Lori's funny family texts which is a nice touch but the texting by everyone seemed to lack a personal connection. The secondary characters didn't play a very big role and in some spots they should but were missing. Even the tag to set up the next sibling's book was off. Apparently the two went off for a while but weren't a couple and no one really seemed bothered. As close as the family is, they would have been bothered. Katie's confrontation with the ex was something the reader could relate to but Nolan's reason for being missing wasn't. Nolan realizing and acting on the way to bring down the ex and protect Katie was. That's the issue I had, you'd start to relate and then you couldn't. There were unresolved issues, places you couldn't relate, places you could, etc. By the end of the book there was a "that's nice" feeling rather than the "finally those two truly belong together and understand each other" feeling. 💖MARRY ME FOREVER💖

"Marry Me Forever" is a book with a good story, and I gave it 3 stars. While I did find the story enjoyable, the main characters were a little lacking for me. While the main characters are very likable, I found them to also be a little flat. Nolan is a big star Hollywood Billionaire, yet he allows his ex to control him. He allows her control of his life for fear of what she posts and what her fans will say and do, so he is “desperate” to find someone to pose as his fiancée. Enter Katie, his little sister’s best friend. Katie tells everyone she can handle what Nolan’s ex throws at her because of all the bullying she handled about her weight growing up. Yet, as soon as she is confronted by her past bullies or by Nolan’s ex, she breaks down and runs away from everything. Both characters tend to act strong, yet it comes across as them ignoring those who care about them. Nolan ignores his family for past hurts, and Katie disregards her BFFs because they are too busy. These little inconsistencies with what the characters tell us they will do versus their actions makes this a 3 star book for me.

The secondary characters from Nolan’s siblings to Katie’s best friends save the book for me. I love the interaction with Aunt Lori, who knows all, and Nolan’s siblings. I do look forward to reading the next books in the series and can’t wait to read Zach and Zane’s books or Abby and Rafe’s book.

When It Turns Real . . .

This is Nolan Wolfe and Katie Evans’ story, proving that love will find a way to make things right. Nolan is having a difficult time with his toxic ex-girlfriend Wendy Webster who doesn’t know how to let go and will try to manipulate him to be hers no matter who gets hurt. So he decides to strike up a deal with Katie, his sister Abby’s best friend. Since Katie always wanted to go on a fabulous trip and see the world, he offers her a deal. He will make her dream trip happen if she will be his fake fiancée for 6 months to derail his ex’s false rumors of her engagement to him. The best part in his opinion is that Katie has known him forever and his being famous makes no difference to her. She sees him as the guy she has always known. So she should fit into his plans perfectly and be convincing. The flip side of that is that falling for her for real gets easier and easier. He’s comfortable with her and he wants to make her his. When his ex still won’t give up, and turns her attack on Katie, what steps will he take to prove to everyone that he and Katie are the real thing? And can he convince Katie of that as well?

I inhaled this book!

Marry Me Forever (Starry Hills #3) by Kayla Chase gave me butterflies, tore my heart to pieces, and then glued it back together. Katie and Nolan’s story is one that I won’t easily forget. It’s a classic tale of a best friend’s annoying older brother who recently makes a reappearance in Katie’s life with a very interesting proposition. The characters are so well written and relatable that it’s a true breath of fresh air. I particularly enjoyed the strong (and strained) Wolfe family dynamics, how loving and supportive Katie’s amazing BFFs are to her, and the playful banter, chemistry & connection the MCs have together. This book has so many ups and downs filled with friendship, angst, heartache, uncertainty, drama, past trauma, healing, caring, and love. It was emotional rollercoaster in the best possible way. All of this to say that at the end of the day, when you truly find your person, you will fight for and do whatever it takes to be with the one you love.

Another fabulous book from this author, the third in the Starry Hills series. It can be read as a stand-alone but I think you’ll love it even more if you read the first two. There’s just something so engaging about this whole cast of characters that draws you in. I’m pretty sure these people are real.

When Nolan, a famous actor and billionaire needs someone to be his fake fiancé in order to get his ex to finally realise it’s over between them, he asks his sisters friend Katie. Will real feelings develop between them?

I adore the family group texts in these books, so fun. Aunt Lorie is an absolute hoot. The tension and spice between Nolan and Katie is delicious, as is the fun they bring out in each other. The ex is a piece of work indeed.

Love this series so much, and cannot wait to see the rest of the Wolfe siblings get their HEAs.

Nolan’s an actor who left home when he was young. Katie’s best friends with Nolan’s sister. She’s a little lost in the world. She doesn’t know what she should be doing with her life and so she works for her families farm as a tour guide.

Nolan’s ex is an actress who uses her celebrity status to spread rumors about a future marriage. So, he plans to get a fake girlfriend and hope that the ex gets a hint.

Katie agrees to this crazy idea because Nolan’s promised her the ability to travel like she’s always dreamed.

The ex doesn’t back down and things predictably get worse before getting better.

The story is like a Hallmark movie. It’s cute, predictable, and holds your attention.

The only thing is the pacing goes too slow for me. If Abby (Nolan’s sister) was out already I’d jump into it. But since it’s not, I’ll skip it and probably not come back to the series.

So this is the 3 book in a series but it is the first one i actually read and I looooved it!

I wasn't so sure when i started it because Hollywood just not for me but I persisted! and it was the right choice without a doubt!

Nolan is absolutely lovely and I love how protective he is of Katie! Katie has trauma due to bullies and i cannot stand how those bullies still act like teens even in their 30's. I mean come on!!

I absolutely adored Nolan's assistant and lawyer. They are hilarious and the text messages between al the characters were also funny

And the spice was kiss chef! I really enjoyed it!

Now i'll read the other books haha.

Fantastic full length romance.
This is a real heart warming story about two people Nolan and Katie, who have known each other since childhood, though not particularly friends.
Nolan is a well known actor, who chose to ask Katie to help him get rid of an ex, who won’t take ‘no’ for an answer. The quickly find themselves attracted to each other, each seeing the others true self. As this was an arrangement they each become very aware that this deal is time limited, but each find they want it to be so much more. The Ex Wendy, doesn’t give up despite all this, and uses her fans to body shame and call Katie. As this has a happy ending for Nolan and Katie, this is one battle she doesn’t win.

This was the first book I read by this author and I am definitely going to read more! I adored Nolan and Katie. He was this shy, movie star who was having issues with his ex telling the world they were engaged, so he went to someone he could trust. His sister’s best friend, Katie, who grew up with them.
Loved these two together! As these two pretend to be together, real feelings start to develop. The way their relationship played out was perfect, it wasn’t rushed and they had this amazing connection.
But of course this doesn’t come without a few issues, as the crazy ex doesn’t want to give up.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was enthralled. It covers many of my favourite tropes, including best friend's sibling. Nolan is perfection: A little bit shy, sweet, and scorching hot! I love how he makes Katie feel. They really are amazing together. There is drama involved but it works so well. This is the third book in the series, but it can be read as a stand-alone. I definitely need to go find the first two!

This is a lovely romance with lots of humour, family, friends and a crazy ex who is the direct cause of Nolan proposing the fake engagement to Katie. I liked how Nolan listened to Katie and tried to make her dreams reality and I liked how Katie saw the real Nolan as opposed to the film star version of him. I really enjoyed how Nolan dealt with the troublemakers. Truly enjoyable romance in a delightful series.

I absolutely loved Nolan and Katie’s story. The fake fiancé trope is one of my favorites and I loved how Kayla Chase made it so realistic. The way Katie takes down the antagonist was #goals, I kinda want to be her when I grow up. I loved reading how Nolan took such good care of Katie through the whole book. This was my first book by Kayla Chase but I will be going back to read the prior Starry Hills books, as well as any other written by her because it is so good.

I read this as a stand-alone. Though there are 2 before in this Starry Hills series.

Nolan offers Katie - his sister's best friend, a trip of a lifetime if she'll agree to be his fake fiance. All in hopes of getting his crazy ex to realize they are done!

Nolan is caring and very protective of Katie!

Funny text messages with Nolan's assistant and his family kept me chuckling.

A Heartwarming love story with a few ups and downs along the way.

Loved it! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Marry Me Forever

This story had everything. Bullying, lots of angst and a male lead that liked to talk dirty. I liked Nolan and Katie together, they worked so well I couldn't see Nolan with anyone else. It was good to see the mean people get what they deserved. There was one thing that I was left wondering and that was, how did Wendy find out about Nolan and Katie's agreement? The people who new definitely wouldn't have shared it. I guess I'm left wondering.

romance that’s both sweet and spicy

It’s got all the markings of being a sweet romance but my goodness the mouth of Nolan - I wasn’t expecting it but I am here for it. I didn’t read this series in order but I’m going to the beginning after reading this one. As if they are the same quality I won’t be disappointed

What to say about this book... it hit me in the heart. I could feel both the pain and love from both Nolan and Katie as they had their journey. This story is endearing and hot at the same time and I cannot wait for the next in the series, they just keep getting better.

Chase balances humor and heart to perfection with Nolan and Katie. Although Marry Me Forever can sometimes feel overly dramatic. It's soul is in the right place. Love finds the irony of life in the most tempestuous way.
