I was sold to him to settle a debt... but Dante Bellanti never settles.
My father was always a gambling man. Unfortunately, he never could pick winners. When the wolves closed in, he chose himself, like always.
He traded his freedom... for mine.
He forced me to marry. Now Dante Bellanti owns my body. I'm just another possession for a man who already has too much. So I won't let him have my heart.
But you know what they say about gambling.
The house always wins.
And I'm at the mercy of the Bellantis...

Stella Gray has always had her head in the clouds and has been writing since she was in high school. A contemporary romance author, she loves dark romances with morally gray men. When she’s not writing, she’s either in the kitchen testing out a new baking recipe or spending time in the great outdoors.
This is the story of Francesca aka Frankie, her two sisters, father and Dante Bellanti and his two brothers.
It is a rather emotional read. So much going on. Frankie is the second daughter and is bartered to Dante to pay off her father's gambling debts. The only reason Frankie agreed is she had no choice and would give her life for her sisters. Their father was a despicable alcoholic gambler and lost more than he ever won. The girls grew up in a very dysfunctional household.
Dante and his two younger brothers just buried their father. They find he was murdered and seek justice. Frankie's father owed Dante's family money and she was to marry him to pay the debt. Dante could behave like such a jack##ss it was unbearable.
There are confrontations, lots of arguments and anger, jealousy (very justified.) Towards the end there is the beginning of reconciliations and at the same time the devil after the Bellanti family has infiltrated their lives and they do not know it yet........ tremble tremble. A good book. It was hard to put down. I do recommend.
Reasons I enjoyed this book: Page-turner Realistic Steamy Twisted Unpredictable
DNF. I couldn’t. There is zero chemistry between Dante and Frankie. There is no background or any inclination on anything on why he wanted to marry her or even if it was his decision because he’s apparently the leader of the family. And I couldn’t do it anymore when he was very selfish in the bedroom.
Plus, Frankie was acting very entitled and I can’t do that. Aunt was more. Let me tell you about how I am instead of being scary and when he has the intention to cheat on her no thank you.
This two-book series which has a third book started out very well with Frankie as the daughter that had been sold to Dante Bellanti, by her worthless father in an arranged marriage/payment owed. I don't know why this series is so long without addressing any of the pertinent issues, nor do I understand why the author took Frankie's character and made her such a nitwit when she could have been so much more.
The Abbott sisters have been through allot with their father their entire lives and yet still seemed to have some twisted connection to him through both books in this series. Frankie's botched wedding in Italy was her first big misstep when she marries someone she hardly knows and is abandoned by him and yet never files for divorce. How stupid can one woman be? For a character that was supposed to be so intelligent and smart she made more than her share of mistakes. She and her older sister Charlie do some questionable things throughout this book including times when (their lives are in danger). They decide to do a mock Spa Vaca at the Abbott home unbeknownst to their husbands or protection while Frankie is pregnant that leads to their abduction. Unfortunately, I saw that one coming.
Dante's character was everything I would expect from a son of a crime boss that was trying to go clean after his father's untimely death. He had little trust in anyone except for his brothers and had a hard outer shell that personified a hard nose leader who was trying to do what so many characters want to do in this genre, get out of the business. Marriage or a wife was something that was totally off his radar. His character slowly evolves into a main male character that becomes capable of handling not only Frankie but also the issues surrounding his family. The story spends quite a bit of time determining who killed Dante's father, which is still unknown by the end of the book.
I enjoyed the initial push and pull between Frankie and Dante and their growing attraction/love for one another as well as the lively banter between them as the story progressed until Frankie's character grew annoying. Her poor choices, assumptions and response to revelations showed a lack of maturity, poor decision making and an annoying stubborn attitude that wore on me. I grew tired of her complaining and poor me attitude. Her communication skills and unwillingness to discuss matters before "cutting and running" was something I would expect from a much younger main female character.
My biggest complaint about this grouping of two books was that there was little resolution to main issues by the end of 600 plus pages. I'll read the final book three, but if that book doesn't show some progression of this story, I won't read any more.
When the book goes into great detail about horse care and winery management, it sounded really well-researched and interesting, but when we got to a section I actually know something about (pregnancy) there were enough glaring errors to make me question whether the rest of the story is as founded in fact as I thought. (For example, getting an over-the-belly sonogram at the first OBGYN appointment, the doctor asking if they wanted to know the sex at that appointment, and then later on, painful contractions being labeled as Braxton-Hicks.)
The book really falls into the same trap as many others in this genre, where the couple has serious, deal-breaking problems that they never really talk about. They fight, they have sex, and then the MMC quietly fixes whatever he did wrong, if he can, or else the FMC just forgets to be mad about it if not. They aren’t really nice people or good for each other, but they’re both stage 5 clingers so they make it work.
Good book, they started out as enemies and in the end they loved each other, both had things in there past they were not happy with but they learned that love can overcome it all and they were a big happy family with her sisters and his brothers. There enemy could not brake them up and by working together they were good

This is the start of one of the best series you can read. The sex is hot, the storyline is fantastic. The emotions are deep, and the ride is thrilling. Such a great story. I loved it! My favorite book series EVER!
A great trilogy, full of angst, betrayals, and steam! I loved how strong frankie was,the push and pull with Dante was amazing to read, they have insane chemistry! Very interested for more reading in this world, I'd love stories for the sisters and brothers.
Love this book it really didn’t have a cliffhanger per say but I’m hoping the next book continues where this one left off thanks to the author Stella Gray
