With These Words was worth every single one of the 202 days we were forced to wait for it and I have not one single complaint. Yeah, I counted. 😏😏😏 I can’t even begin to describe the level of perfection this book was. K. Lashaun gave us the angsty romance we didn’t know we wanted or needed. Eden should be livin’ her best life. All of her hard work has paid off and her dreams of becoming a professional MMA fighter have finally come to fruition. She’s the hottest thing happening in the sports world right now and, after her first fight in just a few months, everyone will know who Eden Foster is. One would think achieving her greatest accomplishment would have Eden walking on cloud 9 but, she’s not. Our girl is miserable. The 400s have their claws stuck deep in her down to the white meat. Barry is still forcing Eden to compete in underground fights while she’s under contract with VP Sports, they’re damn near taking all of her winnings, Isa and Jayce are being used as leverage, and her relationship with her family is even more fractured. On top of all of that, she and Hakeem are still broken up and aren’t even on speaking terms. So, a time is definitely not being had in Eden’s life.

Hakeem has kept a watchful eye on Eden during their time apart for the last eight months. He’s been slowly but, surely biding his time and trying to figure out the best approach to get his lady back. When Axel’s messy azz informs him about Eden’s current predicament with the 400s, Hakeem formulates a plan to get her out of Barry’s clutches. And if that means releasing The Reaper on them heauxs then, so be it. Lou, Madi, Benji, and her no name daddy are still trash. We already knew Madi was a backstabbin’, untrustworthy, and disrespectful sibling but, we really get to see she’s an ain’t shyt mama as well. That broad had zero parenting skills. Poor Jayce. He didn’t deserve her. Lou’s triflin’ azz is runnin’ neck and neck with her own daughter as the top ain’t shyt mama. When she finally reveals why she was so horrible to Eden as a child, I swear I wanted to whoop her azz like she was my high school nemesis. Like, ma’am who raised you?!!!

With These Words was everything I anticipated it to be and more. Once again, the writing and character development were beautifully done. This author continues to amaze me with her talent. While I absolutely loved this book, it was an equally frustrating read at times because, you just want these characters to find their way back to each other. Eden and Hakeem are each other’s peace and not being in one another’s space took a toll on them and the readers. K. Lashaun said I’ma give y’all this lil part two y’all have been harassing me for but, they gon’ work for that HEA. And, Lawd, did they have to work for it but it was well deserved.

I have immensely enjoyed these characters and I so hate to see them go but, I’m pretty sure this isn’t the last we’ll see of the Uptown crew. As with other readers I, too, feel like I need to call the author to the front of the class and ask her, “Sooooooo, what’s up with Gia and Israel?!!!” This couple has been danglin’ their mysterious relationship woes in our faces since 2021 and, like Aaliyah said, we need a resolution expeditiously.

With these Words is probably one of the most anticipated reads for me this year. After Beneath the Silence left me in shambles 🗣️SINCE MARCH my life has been incomplete! 😩😩 K. Lashaun proved why you can’t rush perfection with this one because when I tell you this conclusion was absolutely PHENOMENAL!!!!!!! I was completely blown away with the way she had me falling even deeper in love with Hakeem and Eden! 🥰☺️❤️‍🔥

We pick back up 8 month later in this book and if you’ve read the previous one, then you know things didn’t end well for Hakeem and Eden. Secrets that they were both holding close to their chest were revealed and neither quite knew how to recover without causing damage to their relationship. Hakeem has still been keeping Eden close watching from the shadows all while analyzing where they went wrong and if they’ll ever be able to recover.

Eden is still under the thumb of the Barry and the rest of the 400 crew. It is clear that she’s literally drowning and my heart aches for Eden. You would think she’d be on cloud nine after being signed to VS Sports. She’s finally accomplished a life long dream as a professional fighter yet instead of fighting opponents in the cage, she’s fighting for her life in the streets! She’s merely existing and doing what’s necessary in order to salvage the bond she has with her nephews. It’s no secret that those boys are her strength and weakness and unfortunately they’re being used to keep Eden on puppet strings.

The first 60ish% of this book is EXTREMELY angsty and I swear my blood pressure spiked a time or two. We all wanted Eden and Hakeem to return to their bubble of solitude where Eden and Hakeem could be Eden and Hakeem. He was that soft place to land for her and she was the only person that could bring out carefree and unguarded Hakeem. Since people were insistent on bringing out Reaper and Menace, that’s exactly who they got when it was all said and done!

Hakeem and Eden are by far my favorite K. Lashaun couple. I thought Lathan had my heart but Hakeem snatched it like only he could. Their chemistry was swoon worthy and I found myself blushing just as much as Eden during their interactions! They deserved all the happiness they received and then some and I couldn’t have written a better ending for these two!

Rome and Barry got exactly what they deserved and even Eden’s family. They deserved to watch her thrive and be happy while they witnessed it from the sidelines in misery!! This book is absolutely a MUST READ!! The emotions and drama ooze from the pages and I just wanted to rub my face in it 😆😩

P.S. I hope K. Lashaun doesn’t think she’s off the hook with Gia and Big Israel. I’m going to let sis live and recover from Hakeem and Eden but just know that at the top of the new year, we’re on your head about a story for them. You can’t dangle their toxic asses in our faces for 4 books and not give us the story we want! I’m not accepting it!

Eden x Hakeem (Part Deux)

Wow. Just wow. I loved everything about this book. K. Lashaun released the first part of this story earlier this year, and I've been losing my mind ever since waiting for part two. She absolutely delivered.

If you didn't know Eden, you'd think things were looking up for her. She was signed to VP Sports, she was becoming a big name in the sports industry and was fighting in the FPC. But Eden was still bound to the terrible people from her past. They manipulated her, they abused her, they took advantage of her. Poor Eden had the world on her shoulders. But she knew what was at stake. Her heart in human forms: her nephews.

After a past and childhood like his, Hakeem, the not so gentle giant, was just starting to really live because of her. (Ch.2 Pg.24). "...with Eden, I’d learned how to feel. I’d learned how to care for someone beyond my platonic relationships. Without even trying, she’d taught me so many things about myself. Things that had opened my eyes to what I’d missed out on…"
Circumstances and a crazy connection forced them apart, and Hakeem slowly reverted back to his old ways. (Ch.2 Pg.24)"...And now that she was gone, I felt… lost. Simply going through the motions. A lonely boat floating in the middle of a rocky ocean, searching for its anchor. Craving the stability and calm she’d brought into my life."
They broke my heart.
No one deserved this HEA more than Hakeem and Eden. Their chemistry ran too deep for them to have stayed apart. Hakeem became the protector, the guardian Eden's always needed. The EVERYTHING she needed she didn't get from her family. Her trash ass family.
This story was absolutely perfect. One thing I'd change…I wanted tortue. Slow painful deaths. I wanted Madi to suffer. See her and her parents' heartbreak.

But this was absolutely amazing. This series remains very high on my list of favorites, and I know deep in my heart that there's gonna be more. Cause this can't be it. I'm not ready to part ways with this group yet.

Loved these two!! Eden’s development within this book was so great to read. I’m so proud of how far her and Hakeem have come. I would love novella updates of them and Remedy/Lathan.

Like everyone else, I had been waiting somewhat patiently for THIS read! However, after I downloaded, I sat on it for a bit, because I knew I needed time and space to "feel" what I was about to experience. So, I began. Between the flashbacks of Eden's childhood years, and ish she was still enduring with her family made me so angry! 😡🤬 Punk ass parents, trash siblings, ugh..... Not just angry, but sad, why didn't anyone see this child suffering like this? 💔

All that Eden ever wanted and dreamed for, was coming to fruition with her career, and she was miserable! Still under the thumb of the 400's, missing her nephews, and most importantly her heart is aching for Hakeem! She still loves him with all that she is, but how can they get back together after all that has happened? Will he ever trust me? Can he forgive me? Do I forgive myself?

Hakeem is doing what he does best, waiting in the wings for the perfect opportunity to reveal himself. He has had time to think about how he handled the situation with Eden, and he has regrets. The love is still strong, but how do I get my woman back? Will she allow me back? After a quick rap with Verse, Hakeem knows that he needs to go get Eden, and save her from the hell her life has become.

I knew it would be a tough assignment for Hakeem, as Eden is still as stubborn as ever, and looking out for everyone except herself. However, Hakeem will not let it ride this time. He is here to stay, and his woman will be right beside him, living the life she deserves. The emotions that I went through during this read were all over the board! But all those things needed to happen to get this couple the happiness they deserved. Whew! 😤 You a miracle worker K. Lasahun, cause I just didn't know how you were going to make this all work. You did it, and all is well in the world! Amazing work! 👏🏾👏🏾

Worth the wait

This book definitely lived up to the anticipation after the last book.

Eden was still out here trying to save everyone, even at the detriment of herself. She had finally realized her dream of fighting in the PFC. Only to be forced to endanger said dream paying off debt for the most ungrateful entitled b!#ch that was her sister. The way they dangled her love for her nephews against her was sickening. I was literally holding my breath waiting for her to realize who her man was and to let him handle some of the weight she was carrying.

Eden didn't realize that even when they were apart Hakeem watched over her. He loved her from afar. Hakeem...swoon, deep contented sigh, just gave me all of the feels. Something about this man just put me at ease. I could literally picture his sexy azz smirk. I was relieved when he finally went and claimed his girl. I ain't gone lie I was on edge cuz at 50% the uncertainty was still loud. When Hakeem finally professed his love, chillle you would've thought he was talking to me the way I felt those words deeply😫😫. Eden deserved it, they both deserved each other.

I gotta stop reading these books because I have literally no remorse for these villains. In fact I thought the Reaper took to long to show up 🤷🏾‍♀️ Rome and Crow deserved a slow tortuous demise, but at least it happened lol. Eden's raggedy azz family deserved worse uugh. What is up with these bottom of the barrel mothers?? I digress.
The epilogue was so sweet and since I'm a greedy azz reader I wanted to experience all of the things with them😫.
This book has some errors throughout, but noticeably closer to the end, but I loved this book none the less.

I love me some Eden

I don’t even know if I have the words for how much this book feed my soul. Eden getting everything she deserves makes me so happy. She’s one of those characters you don’t want to trade places with, you simply want to root for her and see her win. Books one and two were two of my most anticipated reads this year and it gave everything I hoped it would. The writing was captivating and I loved every minute of this beautiful story.

These two … for sure my #1 couple of this series (I know what I said then, but this is now)! Hakeem and Eden were something special 🥹 Eden finally received everything that she deserved and more. Hakeem damn sure had much more to him underneath the silence and Candy Crush. His words were just 🥰 My first read by K. Lashaun with this series and it didn’t disappoint 🤎

5⭐️. I just knew this would be a beautiful end to the series 🥹😭❤️ KEEM AND EDEN. This book made me cry and laugh at the same time. Highly recommend this as contemporary black romance series worth reading when you’re looking for something unique and beautiful.

Also I can’t write a review without given a shoutout to Gia’s character which made me LOL. She was just THAT GIRL and I loved her in whenever she appeared throughout the series. Her one liners always killed me - “You know I was getting ready to call you all kinds of bitches” 🤣🤣🤣. What a perfectly written side character.

A great ending... Well deserved

The end was well-deserved for this couple's love story. With all the fighting, disrespect, and drama, I was amazed that Eden overcame every obstacle. All that she endured at the hands of people who claimed to love her, you all, it was unfathomable at times. Keem was her light, and he was her black knight in shining black armor. And man, oh man, he slung his shield of protection vigorously for Eden. I adored this very dark-spirited man, who morphed into a mellow man. Keem was deeply in love with 'his' Eden. Eden returned his love. Rome and his cronies received what was in store for them. And Axel was Axel... 4.85 stars.

To the shock of absolutely nobody, Eden's family didn't have an ah ha moment and realize how trash they were and wanted to do better. Nope. They were trasher than ever. Her mom is the worst. Who really tells their child she needed to be humbled because she was too arrogant. Lou needed her ass beat. The dad is still an irrelevant bum, her siblings are still dead beat pieces of shit and the worst brother and sister ever. I was so glad when she finally stood up for herself and cut them off for good.

I was glad when her and Hakeem got back on track. Between them apologizing to each other, her finally confessing the whole truth to Keem and him confessing his love for her which made my heart melt, this couple really added themselves to my list of favorite book couples. They went through a lot and came out stronger on the other side. Add in them officially adopting Jayce in the end and eventually having a kid of their own. I was very pleased.

Like I knew he would, my grumpy baby, Keem handled all of Eden's baggage when he found out what happened. Crow, Rome and Barry finally getting their karma was the best thing ever. All of those hoes needed to die and I'm glad they did. I only wish it would've happened earlier.

I really enjoyed the conclusion to Eden and Hakeem's story. Two people who were treated less than by people who should've loved and nurtured them found each other and all the nurturing and love they both deserved in each other.

Now, I desperately need Gia and Israel's story. I've been intrigued by whatever they got going on since the first book. I hope they're next. I'm also intrigued by Axel and War. They caught my interest and now I definitely need their books. They scream dark romance tales. Hopefully K. Lashaun gives it too us. Along with Ms. Bee and Saint's story as well. Not only did the author wrap up our main couple's story but she also introduced us to some new players I want to read about. I can't wait to see where she goes with these characters and hopefully their books in the future.

This was the perfect conclusion to Eden and Hakeem's story. The first 50%, I felt so bad for Eden. My girl really went through it. Hakeem came back and said he got it from here, and it meant that. These two were so perfect for each other, and I'm glad they got their most deserving HEA. Eden's family can go to h*ll and stay there forever! Jayce was such a bright spot, and Isaiah. I'm not going to lie the last few chapters, especially the epilogue, had me emotional. I was just so happy for Eden. She could finally have peace and enjoy life, with her boys and love of her life ❤️. I'm going to miss the whole crew, and hopefully, we will get more books in this series. I would love one on Gia 👀

This book is part two to Hakeem and Eden's story and finds Eden spinning in circles from losing Hakeem and from trying to balance her newfound career and her old life with the 400s.

This was really well-written and conveyed the emotion needed for the heaviness of what was happening. I love that Isa came to rely on Hakeem and that he responded to his presence in his life. I also loved how everyone was able to read that something was going on with Eden and offered her their protection, and I understood her hesitance in accepting. Eden standing up to her family gave me a sense of pride in her and I liked that aspect as well, although I do think she gave them too many chances even after cutting them off. Hakeem and Eden fought hard for the happiness they got in this book and I was glad they got it. Hakeem leaning into his past to protect Eden the way he needed was satisfying and I loved how they worked together at the end.

I will say that a lot of Eden's introspection in this book felt repetitive and I didn't need the flashbacks to her younger days. It felt like filler in a way. This was a two-book story and I wasn't sure it needed that. But I did enjoy it very much.

The last 2 books were a continuation of the same story. SLOW BURNNNN baby! Overall giving the story a 4/5! I liked it well enough though I wish it was a tad shorter. The author did a great job diving in to who the main characters were. They were both similar in a lot of ways but polar opposites in some ways too. I liked the story. The first book was the best in the series!

I enjoyed it overall and i’m happy with how it ended. There were some grammar errors but not as many as I saw in book 3. I’m happy that Eden finally trusted Hakeem enough to let his love in. It’s heartbreaking how shitty her blood family is. I would have said fxck them a long time ago! Not going to lie I wanted someone to rock her mama’s body! And her sister!! Look I wanted Gia to put her hands and feet on them! 🤣🤣🤣 Trifling bxtches!! Shoutout to Hakeem for holding Eden down!! Do NOT play with him!! I honestly wanted Rome, Crow, Barry, hell the whole 400s to suffer more!! Overall it was a good series. I will definitely be reading more by this author in the future.

The following are all the thoughts I had while reading this book so it may contains some spoilers:

I definitely feel Eden on the “They love me because they have to…” 🥺😞

I love Gia! I wish the author would have included Gia beating someone’s ass in any book in the series. 🤣🤣

I just thought about how we really did get to see what Axel wanted Hakeem to do in book 3. Maybe we’ll find out in this one.

You know the part that really sucks is there is a “mother” out there just like Eden’s mom. I have a lot of words but yeah like I just want Eden to get professional help! Fxck her parents and siblings! Idc. I had to close my kindle!

Smdh. Eden’s whole family is full of weak mofos! Couldn’t be me! Just goes to show a mofo will still do you wrong even after everything you’ve done for them. Protecting them even though they a weak ass bxtch!

“That wasn’t such a hard sacrifice to make when I knew they had my back, too.” None of them had your back! EVER! Smdh.

Looking for love in the wrong places! Love yourself above all!

Hopefully Eden listens to Mo!

Nxgga you know this is your kid too right? If his mom isn’t doing what she’s supposed to then you step up, dumbass! And since you always popping up on Eden seems like you have plenty of free time!!

Stay away from Fxck nxggas!!

Chapter 13- Hakeem says he’s leaving Eden’s legs free because of her ankle. Chapter 14- now her ankles are tied??? Make it make sense.

Hakeem x Eden

I have been WAITING for this release since the first time I stumbled upon K. Lashaun's pen. My heart was so heavy at the beginning of this book for Eden. My good sis was truly going thru it with Barry bitch ass, her boys being used as pawns, he trash ass family & missing her soft place which was Hakeem. She'd worked so hard to get to where she was & couldn't even enjoy it because mfs wanted to use her. It was so many time that I could tell that she was about to snap, but in true protector fashion, Hakeem came thru and saved the day.

Hakeem was missing his lil piece of sunshine and watching her from a distance wasn't doing it for him. He knew that their past played a part in there future & he knew when everything happened, he really messed up. Hakeem was tired of not having his woman, but still had been stalking her in the shadows & I was here for it. I've been in love with Hakeem since Verse book & he told Garryn he plays Candy Crush to keep from killing people 😂😂

Eden & Hakeem just did it for me 😍🥰 & once they finally got back together, it's like everything in the "The Things Unseen" world.

These book took me thru soooo many emotions & the appearance from Reaper & Menance made it even better ❤️ These two really balance eachother out & I couldn't get enough. I just hate that her family wasn't in the corner playing K. Michelle- Cry because every last one of them mfs should suffer.

I hate that we didn't get an appearance from Remedy & Lathan because they still my favorite couple & K. Lashaun, PLEASE don't think you about to get away with giving us a story about Gia & Israel because sis is straight dodging him in this book.

Now, i'm not usually a second change romance girlie, but this was nice. A complication that I have with romance reads, at times, is that we just get to see the before and then the beginning - because when you get to be with someone, that's just the start of the life of your relationship with that person. I enjoy series like The Collide Series and the New Haven series because I'm greedy LMAO and they give us access to characters as the grow with each other. I'm as much as interested in what brings them together as I am with what helps them sustain. So, it was nice to see the "what's next" with this couple and how they eventually really got it together. Same as before, Eden and Keem's story was trick yin that it was hard to digest from the secrets to the grief to the hard shit Eden had to struggle through. But, I appreciate how in all of Keem's eventual being there for her in a way that they both eneded, Eden was still allowed to grow and develop and pull herself out at her own pace. I really enjoyed getting the chance to see the development of their story to the ened!

Reposted from Books 2-3: I do this thing sometimes where I jump around books on my Kindle and sort of read a bit in q3 and then pop back to q1 - ESPECIALLY when I'm coming off a first read where we had a happily ever after (HEU). I have a hard time going from a HEU to to square 1. I did that with this book and so because of the disjointed way that I read it, I can't give it a rating that feels equitable!

This book also started off a bit slow for me but it was basically a continuation of Beneath the Silence and also somewhat of a second chance so I get that it wouldn't just jump into Eden and Hakeem being together.

This one took me a bit longer to finish just because I personally didn't think it needed to be this long. As much as the flashbacks of Eden's past were to make us see why she was the way she was I found out from the previous book that her family ain't shit and didn't think we needed more of a deep dive into how full of shit they were. It was nice though to see her setting healthy boundaries where they were concerned cause I was tired of her being their floor mat.

Hakeem was the character that stood out for me. I loved how much he loved Eden and changed her misconception of love. How a man that acted unfeeling became so in love that he not only accepted her but her nephews as well. She made him change his view on kids, how he viewed himself and what he thought he deserved and in doing that for her she was also able to do that for herself and in turn reciprocate that love as well.

Overall I was glad after everything they both went through they were able to get their happily ever after.

I hope this series continues for Gia and her ex husband because I feel like their story will be a good one.

So sad that this series has come to an end. So many tears but I’m glad these two got the happiness they both deserved.

Funny going into this series I knew Keem past was dark but baby Eden family was such complete trash. I can’t even pinpoint who I hated more between her mother/brother/sister & let’s not even forget Rome trifling self.

Eden took ALOT on her shoulders & still found a way to wake up the next day & keep going. Her strength was amazing to read & see. Her conversation at the podcast interview had me balling my eyes out. It was just the words she needed from an outside source to believe in herself. She is a total badass with a sweet soul who absolutely deserves unconditional love!

Eden & Keem love was amazing to see grow and blossom from two people who came from broken homes & was both enforcers who didn’t have a lot of trust from outsiders. I loved every moment they took to find their way back to each other & find their type of love.

P.S. Jayce stole my whole heart he was absolutely adorable & I loved him & Eden relationship. Wish we had more Noble time too. I’m a sucker for kids in books. Good kids that is. Lmao.

I hated for this book to end and even sadder this was the end of the series. I could read more from the Uptown crew.

One review I read said Eden’s bio family didn’t suffer enough and I agree. Approximately 60% in the story, we were still reading how awful they were. Yet, their consequences were wrapped up to swiftly. I wanted to read about how she glowed up and they had to gag on her success. And them finally being the outsider like they made her.

Barry and Rome didn’t suffer enough.

The author wrote both Eden and Hakeem in a way that I felt their pain and couldn’t wait for them to receive their HEA in all areas.

The errors were a bit distracting in this book. And the writing for Jayce was a bit too advanced for a kid his age. Wasn’t he 2 or 3? Lastly, there were a bit of inconsistencies that confused me. Overall I really enjoyed the couple and the Uptown crew. Would really love to read G and Isreal’s story. Just anything more from this author would be great😉.

Honestly I’m just glad to be done with their story.

Personally it didn’t need to be two parts, bc this book was just like part 1, with Eden being secretive, the fighting, getting hurt, having a small sliver of hope for her aint ish family members, and both Eden and Hakeem being in their head - it was all just very repetitive. The story didn’t move along till the halfway mark.

And in all honesty both books was so more Eden’s story than their equal love story, with Hakeem being a character that moved and/or motivated Eden forward. I left reading the book very underwhelmed.

Lastly, the ending just was just meh - the people that hurt Eden really got off easy especially Madi and their very pathetic mother.

So like, glad it worked out but it all could have worked out in book 1 (and should have bc that was a long book itself that sometimes stalled) bc I learned and gained nothing new in book 2.

This book here was sooo good 😊 , worth the wait , I was so excited 😆 to read this book!! And it will have you really in your feels!! I was an emotional 🥹 roller coaster reading this book! And that man Hakeem is just that man Periodt!😮‍💨The way he loves on the people he care about and make sure his family straight no matter what is just omggg❤️❤️☺️. I’m so glad Eden got her happy ending …. She deserves it and so much more🥺❤️
Now that damn raggedy ass family of hers can go to hell frlfrl , like neither one of them mf wanted to take accountability for their actions smh! But I’m glad Jayce and Isa have Keem and Eden! And Keem and his family! Hopefully we will get more series and update from the other people in the series!
Can’t wait to see what K. Lashaun drops next! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾😭

Whew Chile- These Words were all that!

I so enjoyed the rawness and realness of this story. Two imperfect people who were perfect for each other. I understood Eden’s need to please everyone else and forget about herself. (The things children have to endure at the hands of adults is sickening sometimes). The way K. Lashaun understands her characters and proceeds to make sure that we understand them through her writing is a wonderful experience. Make sure you read the whole series to truly understand this Family, some blood and some not, but nothing can make then stronger. You won’t regret it.

I’ve got to admit that I found the 4th book a bit too much. Hakeem and Eden’s story was dragged out too much and a lot of this book was like blah blah blah to me. I kept reading to find out what happened to Verse and Garryn and Remedy and Lathan. We did get a glimpse of the former but sadly not too much about the later couple.

The forth book in this series should really have been about Gia and Israel - that would be a great read from the snippets we found out about them. I hope there will be a book five to give this couple the story they deserve.

All said and done, I liked the ending so I’ll give 4⭐️s to be kind.

With these words- K. Lashaun

Rating: Fulfilled (Loved it)

This is the last installment and I hadn’t planned to read this one yet initially, but the way book 3 ended.. had to start this.

So boom… you get more of Eden’s backstory here and why she is the way she is. My heart goes out to her still because her family is trash. That’s all I can say. Just punch everybody except Jayce and Isaiah. But the adults though… smh.

Hakeem and Eden operate in these muddy waters and when things become clear that’s when I became fulfilled. This one has me antsy. I was fussing and talking out loud. But I am glad I was able to take this journey because I love these people and K. Lashaun’s writing.

I don’t know if I’ve ever met two characters who deserved a happily ever after more than these two! Watching them find their way back to each other was just 🥰. I did get a little frustrated after a while because it was taking the FMC too long to accept that Hakeem could handle all of her secrets. But I get it. Being vulnerable and accepting unconditional love is hard when you’ve never had it. Hakeem was such a fierce & loyal protector and I was glad that despite his darkness & walls he erected, he was able to find his person. I’m not sure if this is the end but I’d love to get a 2nd chance romance with Gia & Israel
