Great Book
I love all of Ryan’s books! This one, just like the others, draws you in, and before you know it, you are part of the families he is writing about. You enjoy the good times with them, but are crushed as people you’ve gotten to know and love suffer, or worse. The story was brutal, but in the times we are in, it could be a true story. If we lose our Democracy, who knows what will happen! No matter, the story, the characters, I found it very difficult to put the book away and go to sleep each night while reading, but that’s a price I am willing to pay to read and finish another of Ryan’s books!

well, you see…
I felt this series of books to be both ambitious and a little over reaching at the same time. Good character development, an interesting and reasonably complex plot, but many storylines. In someways, a bit far-fetched, and in others, not down to earth enough. The grand conspiracy theory plot line that runs through the entire series, while plausible, didn’t add much to the story from my perspective and in some ways, detracted. I won’t be seeking out any additional writing from this fellow, he put everything, including the kitchen sink into this lot.

long saga
Wow. It took me awhile to finish these books, lot places was little too gory for me, but the story and characters kept me reading. Wanting to see how it would end but I still had few unanswered questions at the end. But I did enjoy all the books, first was skipping through and wait what happen to Leighton? So had to restart from page 1. But I am glad I did. There was some sad moments and karma paid a visit to a lot of people. Well done.

I couldn't put the books down.
I love reading books setup like this one. Each chapter is titled with a characters name. This allows the reader to now the topic of that chapter and to continue the story of that character.
It was interesting how the author related this story to current events. A little scary but eye opening. If you really love this country, we need to stand united and strong.

Oh, My!
Oh, my! What a great book and what a great series. The Abandon series Is one of the best dystopian series I've ever read. It is full of the entire spectrum of human emotions: pain and pathos, joy and laughter, fear and determination, love and devotion, family and friends. The characters feel so relatable and real that you get caught up in their lives.

Absolutely love it
The Patriots. Through all the horrors they loved and cared for each. Family Doesn't have to be blood
relations.
I have enjoyed all of Ryan Show books.
I have learned a lot on how to survive. Hopefully it won't happen in my lifetime

Absolutely brilliant
Wow what a read.This is one of the best books in this genre that I have read.This book set was so gripping I put my life on hold to finish it.It’s got everything you look for ,very strong characters you can relate to and scary baddies. Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed.

Awesome Story
As I said before, I am not good at reviewing, but I couldn’t resist this opportunity to let you know what a well thought out story this was. I laughed at several times and cried for people who died.
The author was genius in regard to mixing current events and some imagination to create this work of literary art.

greatest series
Loved these books. Characters were wonderful and you feel sadness when someone dies. Lots of surprises throughout the series. A must read for those who enjoy reading apocalyptic stories. Kept be up to two in the morning trying to figure out what happens in the next chapter or chapters.

I love dystopian books. This is the worst book I’ve ever read. I didn’t make it past the first one. I had just a couple chapters left and said fck it and set it down.
No character arcs. Terrible writing. This wasn’t even edited before it went to print. It’s clear the author just wanks to the idea of running around killing people. He should be on a govt list.

A Great Series
This is the first book I've read by Ryan Shaw, an intriguing author whose writing style has captured my attention. As a newcomer to his literary works, I find myself eager to explore more of his storytelling and narrative techniques. have to say, it was amazing. Very exciting and emotional with great characters. I heartily recommend this series.

Not for the faint of heart!
This was an excellent series, about humanity at it's best, it's worst, and it's most desperate. Believable characters, believable outcomes and impossible to put down.

EMP is a definite concern in our present day world and this story presents some very realistic concerns if it ever happened to us. Very interesting and very believable.

I think I purchased this series for cheap, it was so bad that I deleted it from my library. Conspiracy theories repeated over and over, detailed horrific killings, cannibalism and unrealistic storylines.
